- samtI539WU (10/5): Quality - Lovely place staff are amazing and really helpful would definitely go again my children were very happy aswell breakfast is 10/10 I
- waynes765 (10/5): Amazing Breakfast - Went for a breakfast, staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast itself is the best around cooked by Jackie this morning. I’ve been a few times and breakfasts are always great 😁
- angelasD9299RO (10/5): Lovely hot breakfast with warm welcome staff - Came for my favourite breakfast with family again. We really love the food here and friendly staffs are treasure in the hotel. Can't wait to see you all again, well done!
- 478reviewert (10/5): One of the best - Stay often, first time leaving a review. Clean rooms, A/C, Piping hot freshly cooked breakfast every morning.. takes roughly 15 mins to cook but so worth the wait, plenty of cold bits to nibble on whilst it cooks. Staff are some of the friendliest we have come across and seem to genuinely enjoy working there!
- caseywD680ZX (10/5): THE BEST! - The best hotel in melton Mowbray!!!
Breakfast and evening meals are amazing!! Hotel itself is spotless! The staff are definitely the best part of this hotel,so friendly, welcoming and all round amazing, can’t fault them at all. Car park not that hard to find if you follow the signs. All round perfect.
- mattbY5192PH (10/5): Amazing breakfast and staff! - Amazing breakfast and staff! Food was amazing and could not fault it, the staff were happy signing which made the visit even better! Well done all staff.
- martincX2439HQ (8/5): Great location but needs a refresh in places. The staff are great! - Great location with easy access and plenty of free parking. All staff very friendly and welcoming.
Very clean everywhere.
Some areas need refurbishing.
A very quiet and comfortable night.
We would happily stay there again
- eddiecott1959 (10/5): Best premier experience so far - 1st time use of this premier normally use other teesside one . How i wish I had used this one 1st from entry you are welcomed from the staff and you automatically feel the friendliness rooms very clean also hotel is clean also the others staying obey the keep quiet rules and that was with a party of 40 well impressed. Bed very comfy and shower very good only 2 faults really 1st fault maybe some ½ nets on windows so you can open curtains without feeling your being watched by rooms across car park and oh my goodness where was the heater ive seen bigger in caravans (haha) where up north and honestly it can get cold room eventually got warm we will stay again when back up this way maybe also have rooms where you can bring your dogs 🐕 many thanks for a great 3 days
- myquest54 (4/5): Nice hotel, toxic air. - Despite the wonderful beds this visit was very disappointing. But the overall impression is one of chaos and good intentions.
The air in the breakfast area is nothing short of toxic with no effective air cleaning from the kitchen. Our clothes, hair and nose all smell of fried food.
I have complained before a few weeks and they've done nothing. Outside there is no evidence of extraction fans running.
My advice is go down the road to 'spoons for an equally good breakfast.
- Neil195311 (6/5): Below Standards - Check in very welcoming. The room was freezing cold, heater took an age to warm the room, no glasses in bathroom, no throw on the bed, no net curtains at the window, well below the standards in London Premier Inn’s and what I’ve come to expect over many years staying at Premier Inn.
- U8612ZKveronicaf (10/5): Lovely place - Great location for families and lots to do around. Quick check in and lovely staff. Really enjoyed my stay. Will stay again
- MadGerald (10/5): Great location. Nice hotel. Couldn’t fault it. MASSIVE thanks to staff Cameron & Vicky. Absolute stars! A******* - Just back from a 1 night stay at this hotel. Could not fault it. We were visiting the town hall, to see a gig & the hotel is literally a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. Great location for the town centre
Plenty of on site parking (£8 for overnight parking, which isn’t bad for a city centre)
The hotel is well maintained & would to give a special shout out to the staff, Cameron & Vicky. Both were so friendly & helpful, & went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant & enjoyable. We opted to have evening meal at the hotel & the portions were great (I strongly advise taking up the 30% discount, that gives you a starter, main meal & breakfast in the morning for £26. Absolute bargain!
If we return for another event in Middlesbrough, we will definitely stay here again. Once again, thank you so much Cameron & Vicky. An absolute couple of stars!
- Footprints401731 (10/5): Great breakfast. - Had a lovely breakfast here, while waiting for our car to be serviced nearby.
Excellent value. Special mention to Cameron who looked after us.
- mathewbO3512SS (2/5): Terrible stay - Long wait for food no sheets for baby’s cot and when requested they supplied but it was damp they apologized but n t acceptable didn’t dry until 4 hours later splashes of sick in bathroom by the toilet bath was very dirty overall worst stay I’ve had
- Climber140695 (10/5): Great breakfasts! - I stay here every week and breakfast is always delicious. Always fresh. Nothing is left standing for too long. It never disappoints and Jillian is always friendly and helpful. Thanks!
- dawnm852023 (10/5): Breakfast - Good location and great breakfast. Always brilliant choice Jillian is a brilliant cook 🧑🍳 and super friendly.
- Compass61036777276 (10/5): We came for the breakfast - My friends and I were camping up the road but wanted a breakfast to set us up for the day. Rhianne was our chef both days. The food was really good and set us up nicely for the day.
If you want a good big breakfast then head here
- amylH185YR (10/5): Warm welcome - Great stay as ever. Speedy check in, nice and clean facilities and a lovely warm welcome at breakfast from Jillian. Well located place to stay.
- 844lesleye (10/5): Great stay - We experienced great customer service during our visit. Lovely food at breakfast and evening meal. Over all a very comfortable stay.
- 544mikele (10/5): A home far away from home - I’d like to commend the team at Premier Inn Middlesbrough for their consistently high standard of service. The staff are always courteous and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes each stay enjoyable.
A special mention to Jillian, whose warmth and professionalism make mornings a pleasure. Frequent work travel can sometimes feel isolating, but the friendliness of this team genuinely helps ease the feeling of being away from home.
- dylangU3029RN (10/5): Very good - I had a lovely stay at the Premier Inn Middlesbrough Town Centre! The hotel was really quiet and peaceful, perfect for a good night’s sleep. The staff were all so friendly and helpful – the service was excellent from start to finish. Everything was clean, comfortable, and just what you’d expect from Premier Inn. Would definitely stay again! xx
- N6534LTgaryb (10/5): My daughter and I just had an amazing time being there. - The location was excellent, the atmosphere warm and welcoming the room was perfect, value I could not ask for a better price for the stay cleanliness was just perfect, noise level very quiet indeed, service impecable cannot fault it, amenities again just perfect cannot fault it.
- TrailBlazer470089 (10/5): Melton Magic Pie and Premier - Room spotless.
Reception on arrival and departure was human interaction which professional happy and an absolute joy . Thank you .
Very comfortable bed and a good night's sleep .
Breakfast was exemplary .
Freshly cooked to order it was absolutely the best I have had at a premier inn. Special mention goes to Rhianne in the kitchen , everything on our plates was hot , perfectly cooked and well presented . The kitchen was working like clockwork .
All in all , it made our overnight stay after doing Brocklsby Pie experience perfect .
- barryeD4751YF (10/5): Great - We stopped for breakfast, food great, server even greater, thanks Nicola you deserve a pay rise, and all staff was pleasant
- Tourist779814 (4/5): Rushed out yet again - Room faultless, lovely welcome. Shame about getting rushed out of our room early by the impatient cleaner earlier than checkout. Not the 1st time its happened either. Makes you feel rushed and not welcome, wont be back
- KMBSmudgersmith24 (10/5): Welcoming. Clean. Good Value. Beefeater next door. - Car park was very busy when we arrived. Was expecting it to be as a Friday evening. However, managed to get parked near the hotel entrance.
Beefeater pub was literally a few steps from hotel.
Reception partners were very cheerful and welcoming. Room had everything we needed. Beds were very comfy and the room temperature was spot on.
I loved the 'please tiptoe' signs in the corridors. I appreciate these aren't serious signs, but I do believe they do make people walking about at night, to think about the noise they're making. They seemed to work as we didn't have any loud noises.
Was a great stay and will stay here again when next in the area.
- carolbA2595KW (10/5): Stayed for the boro match - Friendly and polite are room was clean and our evening meal was very good the staff were polite and friendly at breakfast and in the evening
- CathFin5678 (8/5): Good show Middlesbrough - Great breakfast this morning - all served by Jillian who’s an absolute legend. It was busy in the restaurant and she single handedly looked after everyone in there with professionalism and warmth.
The food was great - hot and cold buffet all fresh and tasty.
Thank you Jillian. Xx
- Griffopop (8/5): Premier Inn Middlesbrough - Excellent stay, rooms were exactly what I expected, bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Gillian in the restaurant was very busy but still responded to requests promptly and was very friendly
- Sandra (6/5): - Our stay was somewhat disappointing. The bed was too small for two people and not long enough, making it uncomfortable to sleep. We were assigned a disabled-access room, and unfortunately, the bathroom and toilet had a noticeable smell of urine.
Breakfast was adequate but limited in variety. The poached eggs were undercooked, and the bacon was not crispy. I also observed that some wait staff handled food without gloves — for example, placing croissants in baskets or touching bread directly after clearing tables, which was concerning from a hygiene perspective.
When attempting to book a table for dinner, we were treated quite rudely on both occasions. We were unable to get a table on Saturday night (our first night) as we had not pre-booked. As paying hotel guests, this was disappointing, especially given that there were no other dining options nearby.
Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, and several areas could be improved to make future stays more comfortable and welcoming.
- -gladt0be0ut (10/5): Excellent all round. - Really well situated hotel for city centre but accessed easily from A19/A66.
On site car parking easy to access and pay for (remember to park in a blue bay). All the facilities and comforts associated with Premier Inns with addition of extremely helpful and hard working staff team!
oh and the food was good too.
- F9333EZkatiem (10/5): Great experience! Team work at its best! - Vicky and Kirsty were a great team! The electronic check in systems went down due to an outage in the area just before check in time. This didn’t stop Vicky and Kirsty making every effort to check people in smoothly and quickly! Great customer service received! Will definetly be back! Great value for money and the staff are warm and friendly. X
- iandD2726RG (10/5): Good stay - Good service, nice room and great food. Car park a bit hard to find and you have to log in but the staff sorted us out the next morning.
- andrewr111 (10/5): Perfect stay - Perfect stay and very clean and a bath made all the difference. The staff were very helpful understanding that I was very tired. A bath made all the difference
- davidrA9534BU (10/5): Highly recommended!! - Stayed at the Melton Mowbray Premier Inn one night only, Saturday 4 October. Very friendly lady staff member booked us in with recommendation of a local taxi company for our night out….A2B Taxis. …..great recommendation with prompt service.
Sunday morning table service breakfast was excellent, very friendly attentive staff with a special mention to the very busy chef, Reanne. Our poached eggs were ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️cooked perfectly!!…. She appeared very busy with a number of breakfasts on the go but still managed to do perfect eggs!!
A very pleasant stay in a Premier Inn.
- LorraineUKEngland (10/5): Great hotel great staff - The staff make this hotel an excellent place to stay. They are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Reception staff Dave, Rachel. Abi and Christina are all so helpful and friendly. Head of housekeeping staff Sam is so efficient, warm and friendly nothing is too much trouble to her. Also Lyndsey in housekeeping is very helpful and very good at her job.
The food at breakfast is excellent and Natalie the Manager ensures it is all run smoothly. Del is so lovely and welcoming and helpful as is Abbey. The chefs are very good and also very helpful.
Talia a general manager is very efficient and very helpful and always gets things done quickly if you have a request.
The issues I have are about the building and are issues for the management of Whitbread to address. There is no air con which I think is a must in any hotel. One of The grab rails in the bathroom of the room(s) which a lower bath/shower is not located in the right position and is of no help currently. The accessible room with a wet room is located so far away from reception and the exit, that walking the distance is, and will be a problem for people with mobility issues. There are no fridges in the rooms.
My medication needs to be in a fridge and the staff kindly made arrangements for it to be stored in the kitchen fridge. But a fridge in a persons room is necessary not only for medication but also to store a drink and sandwich especially when you are staying a long time like I am. I hope Whitbread address these issues. I hope they also they recognise the great staff they have and that it’s the staff which make the hotel good and make people want to return again.
- gracemX385YF (10/5): One night business trip - Great stay, great sleep, great breakfast! Jillian was lovely at breakfast. Would stay again. Nice firm bed and clean room
- gavintO1370NF (10/5): Welcoming - Nice clean place, staff very welcoming, and chatty to you. Well done to Kira and Jodie who made us very welcome, gave us some knowledge of where was good to eat and drink in the town.
- Mobile47503806903 (10/5): Nice stay - Nice stay .. thanks Angela for your assistance when we asked whith the room . And thanks to the hotel chain for the witnessed assistance with a defib when they were asked .. super team
- rebeccawL2135PM (6/5): Morton Mowbray - Great location, however the negative side of this is quite different: staff at the front didn’t want to know when I asked for clean towels, forgot to give us WiFI code, microwave meals at evening weren’t worth 55 pounds. Awful smell in bathroom, AC leaked cold icy water constantly.
No clear signs on parking ether.
- MaryB1121 (10/5): Best Premier Inn Breakfast - Friendly, cheerful staff. Car park at the rear, remember to enter your reg no in Reception. Limited menu for the evening with the meal deal being cheaper to reflect this. Food was well cooked. Breakfast was cooked to order and the best I've had at any Premier Inn
- yhi904 (10/5): Excellent town centre hotel - Good solid choice of hotel. Friendly staff, great room and excellent Premier Inn breakfast.
Pros:
* Friendly check-in
* Good-sized room
* Fresh coffee
* Fridge
* Comfortable bed and super duvet
* Freeview with all channels
* Plenty of power sockets including both sides of bed and desk
* Good consistent WiFi
* Good sized bathroom with tub and shower
* Great choice of English and Continental breakfast
* Short walk to railway station
Cons:
* No laptop safe in room
* Dinner soul-less and too many unavailable items; I was never asked if I wanted dessert
- laurapP1380SP (10/5): Wow! Excellent service!' - I’ve lived in Melton all my life and honestly can’t believe it’s taken me this long to stumble across this absolute little gem for breakfast – wow! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. The place has such a lovely, relaxed vibe, the kind of spot you instantly feel at home in.
The food was spot on – beautifully cooked, generous portions, and you can just taste the quality. It’s the kind of breakfast that sets you up for the whole day and leaves you planning your next visit before you’ve even finished.
And then there’s Jodie who works the night shifts– what a star! I got chatting to her and she was just exceptional. So warm, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure everything was perfect. She went above and beyond, and you don’t often get that level of care and attention these days.
The whole restaurant was spotless, I have visited some fantastic restaurants in my time but this is definitely up there in my top 3!!
Honestly, this place is a real game-changer for breakfast in Melton. A hidden treasure that deserves to be shouted about – I’ll definitely be back again and again, and I’ll be bringing friends and family too.
- Valerie (10/5): - This hotel is located right beside Teesside Barrage so a lovely area. The staff at this orooerty are so nice and very friendly. The Talpor restaurant and bar right beside the hotel is excellent. The wait and bar staff are so friendly The food is excellent in this restaurant. We will definitely return on our next visit to the UK. We stayed Fiordland three nights the hotel was busy but the guests were considerate and quiet
- Companion581874 (6/5): Okay for a room - Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room and bed. Down side outside of the building was egged, rats outside building in the morning and the car park is a extra £8 a night
- Andrea (8/5): - Arrived and the first room we had hadn’t been cleaned - they managed to find us another room but that one was also a bit dingy around the edges. It’s a basic hotel option, right by the white water course (Teeside). Breakfast at the restaurant next door was great. Appreciated the easy and free parking availability.
- P6530JWmatthewc (10/5): Night before the race 🏁 - Went here prior to participating in the British 24 hours at Teesside Autodrome. Was ideal, good rooms, good food and friendly staff. Many thanks.
- 700nikf (2/5): Poor - Windows don't open so years of dust in room, disgusting. Beds v uncomfortable. Ended up leaving early as couldnt stay another night.
- ash4cash (10/5): 5 stars - Great staff , I arrived late 10pm , I spoke to the receptionist on checking in said I had a very long day , she offered me some fruit as no food available. Great nights sleep .
Same receptionist Allison was covering for chef due to absence of chef . My breakfast was excellent 5 stars , Chloe was also very helpful. I recommend this premier inn highly
- Something2345 (4/5): Poor quality hotel - Premier inn has gone down so much
We had a room ,no AC working, no net Curtains, no privacy, people across could see directly across and like wise
Whst has happened to this come a have a comfy sleep, not any more
The rooms are dark and that wow mo more
Travel lodge have overtaken you
Poor service now
3 rd Premier in now in a row
Never again will.we visit
- iqbalshaha (4/5): Parking ticket for parking in hotel car park - It was standard. Just
Got charged a parking ticket for parking in the car park, causing a huge inconvenience. Tried to ring staff but no answer. Will be going down to complain about this as I definitely gave my car registration plate written down to the staff at the desk.
- adampG1343ZP (6/5): Would stay again but voice my problems, - Everything was great apart from the water pressure of the shower as we were at the far end of the building it was very poor, also they forgot to hover our corridor about 50 meters of it debris everywhere,
- Road42100288762 (4/5): Family room ? Only one. (The one on the web) - Although the prices are competitive and the breakfast at the Tarpole next door is excellent value, there is only one "real"family room. The others are double rooms with an extra bed squeezed in. Comfortable? Not really, and there was a strong un pleasant musty smell from the carpet but I guess that is pretty standard.
- KMBSmudgersmith24 (10/5): Great location and very good value hotel - Was a little hesitant to book this because of some of the reviews. However, I was very happy with it. Reception were super friendly and the room a decent size and very clean. Parked right near reception. Breakfast in next door Beefeater (15 second walk) had very good options and the lady on duty was amazingly friendly. Location of hotel is superb for exploring.
- MacTheKnife01 (6/5): Provision for disabled persons below expectations. - I have a disabled partner and accessibility rates highly in my reviews. Premier Inn has a very good reputation for disabled access and ability to book, on its website, rooms including disable options at fine detail.
GOOD POINTS:
- Situated in a very attractive spot, close to the Tees tidal barrage. Many sporting amenities nearby.
- Very friendly and helpful staff. They were happy to let us take the wheelchair in and out through a fire exit rather than the tricky route through reception.
- Good food service at the Beefeater (Talpore) pub next door - open all day, also a good venue to meet friends.
THE DOWNSIDE:
- Bedroom facilties below expectations. Bed only standard double bed size. We usually expect larger than this. A disabled person needs the extra bed space when sharing with a partner.
- Not a walk-in shower; a low-height bath with shower over instead. We were aware of this at time of booking, and the height of the shower was clearly stated and checked before we booked. However we found that the grab rails, though numerous, were not ideally situated and my partner found it very difficult to grasp two at once, as required.
SUMMARY:
Overall a little disappointing - not as good as other Premier Inns where we have stayed. It has many good points at a sensible price and would be well worth consideration by non-disabled people. However we are not likely to be staying again; other hotels in this area can serve us better. I can award only three stars.
- R6382JBmatts (10/5): Nice, comfortable stay - My third stay here, it’s a great location. The beefeater next door does the standard food well. The bar side needs decorating and new tables and chairs. With the campsite at the back and the white water place out front I guess it gets well used!
The walk along the River is nice and to the infinity bridge and back is a couple of miles on flat paths.
- stephanierX9389RL (10/5): Date night with the hubby - Warm and welcoming feel. Staff in hotel were lovely and friendly also in the adjoining pub where we had a lovely evening meal and breakfast in the morning. Room was clean, towels and fan were provided. Tea/coffee in room. Vending machines available in hotel reception.
- 101tanyan (2/5): Worst place I’ve ever stayed - This was the worst premier inn I’ve ever stayed in.
The room was tired and had stained carpets. The bed only had one pillow each which had a very strong smell of sweat. When I asked at reception for different pillows they explained there were no clean pillow cases so had to use the additional pillows from the top of the wardrobe. These pillows had clearly been used and were not clean. We were brought two additional cushions.
Later I went to reception to ask to upgrade to the meal deal and was met with hostility. I felt awkward and apologised saying I felt like a pain. The male at reception then said “yes you are, don’t come back again”.
I’ve honestly never been so badly treated especially when we’d paid next to £100 for the privilege. The hotel was in a terrible state of repair and the reception staff were so rude.
The room was damp, the door frames were battered, there was a hand mark in the headboard.
The housekeeping staff were lovely and the staff at the restaurant were also lovely - they didn’t seem surprised at all with our experience of the premier inn reception staff. I would never return here and would strongly discourage anyone else to. It was a dreadful experience.
- malmond1972 (8/5): Lovely stay - Very pleasant stay at the Premier Inn, also benefits from a lovely location by the Barrage.
Room nice and spacious, bed very comfy, bathroom clean and shower hot and powerful.
Breakfast at the Beefeater next door was very good as well. Wide selection, cereals, breads, fruit and full english items. Bev was a superstar, always pleasant and looked after us.
Ate there twice for dinner and again was tasty. £22 for a ribeye was probably a bit too much for what it was, however the triple cooked chips made up for it as they were amazing!!
- gerrardscrossmum (8/5): Comfortable and clean - Very standard premier inn.
Comfortable bed
Quiet and clean
Beefeater next door for meals- standard stuff there
A bit tired- bathroom sink chipped
Carpet - mucky brown and although I’m sure hoovered was dated and I didn’t want to walk on it
Vending machine in lobby
- carlybD7495HT (10/5): One word... AWESOME - Thank you all for a wonderful stay! The hotel is beautiful, right on the tip of where the Tees Barrage is and definitely one of the better Premier Inn's! Thank you to Kevin and Sarah who made sure my stay was one of the best I have ever experienced!
- 578ninia (8/5): Stay at whitewater way Premier Inn. - It is pretty good except a few things. Wifi is not good. Mobile reception is also bad. Food is fine. Restaurant looks quite popular. Cleanliness is ok. They don't clean the room everyday unless you request. No lift and a long corridor to go through to get to room or getting out.
