Guest Reviews
- Brenda (10/5): - clean hotel, well oiled staff plenty of breakfast.
- TonesterHastings_UK (4/5): Worst Premier Inn we've stayed in - This is the worst Premier Inn we've stayed in.
It was 3°c outside when we checked in, the window in the room had been left open and the main heating doesn't work so they've left a small plug in heater in the room, which having been on full for over an hour now still hasn't heated the room.
The food in Thyme was very disappointing, the first time we've ever had an unenjoyable meal from a Thyme. The flavour was cooked out of everything, except for the chips, they could've done with being cooked properly. The service was slow, despite being a very quiet evening in there.
The smoking area has a wall mounted ashtray that looks like it has never been emptied, there's cigarette ends all over the floor as its overflowing.
The room is a bit rough and ready for a Premier Inn and not as clean as we're used to but the bed is comfortable as expected.
Only 1 small towel provided which isn't enough for the floor, hair and hand drying.
We wouldn't stay here again.
- F372SUderekj (10/5): Good dining experience - Easy check in, with friendly and helpful staff on reception. Good dining experience, with a perfectly cooked steak by Maria the Chef.
- Y1672CKstevem (10/5): good hotel, will be back - Stayed here for work, Abby on reception was very kind and helped me with my booking as i booked Rainham London by accident. All round good hotel and friendly staff.
- O2685WZgaryh (10/5): Great hotel at a great location for Gatwick South Terminal - The hotel was clean and quiet with the check-in and checkout as easy as it could be. The room was clean and very comfortable with a good bed and bathroom. It was an ideal overnight stay prior to flying from Gatwick South Terminal.
- 898mikep898 (10/5): Great experience - Had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Ana , Trago and luke were so friendly and helpful. And Trago made us laugh so much 👏👏👏
- stephendI3163JM (10/5): Comfortable Stay with Great Breakfast and Quiet Rooms - We stayed for two nights at the Premier Inn Gatwick Crawley Town West with breakfast included. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable—nothing fancy, but perfectly fine for a short stay.
Breakfast was good, with a nice selection and a well-cooked hot breakfast that was served quickly. Overall, it was a pleasant and straightforward stay with everything we needed before travelling on.
- alexeU1490MR (10/5): Great Experience - Check in was smooth and Ana Maria on check in was really friendly and made the experience very easy, would definitely recommend
- Katetaymills (2/5): NO SLEEP - DON'T DO IT - DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO SLEEP BEFORE AN EARLY FLIGHT ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. I usually only review places when I can be positive but I have to warn others that this is right next to an events venue so there was really loud (booming bass) party noise until midnight. The hotel is clean and has everything you expect in a Premier Inn. The staff are really nice but when we asked to move rooms they said they were full. When we asked to be moved to a nearby Premier Inn they said it was not possible but gave me a number to ring for a refund afterwards. Premier Inn guest services refused to take any responsibility as they say that under their terms and conditions it doesn't fall under their good night sleep guarantee. So yeh, don't stay here on the weekend if you want to sleep.
- G5366LZmichelleb (2/5): Noisy and sleepless - Sad hotel, needs a major refurb. The room was noisy until the early hours. No air conditioning, heat only. The car park signage is nonexistent along with car park lighting. Leaving in the dark was difficult as there were no signs to the exit at all. When we spoke to reception about the noisy room and asked to be moved we were told they couldn’t move us and handed us a website address so we could complain. That wasn’t very helpful as we needed a good night’s sleep, not a website address.
- Travelslippers (10/5): 3 Star Hotel, 5 Star staff - Overnight stay (park and ride to Gatwick).
It’s a Premier Inn so rooms are what you would expect, perfectly fine for what we were using it for, though it could use a refresh in parts.
That said, incredible staff. Tiago and Casey were running reception, the bar and the restaurant by themselves and despite being stretched, they couldn’t have been more friendly & helpful. People make customer service and they absolutely did.
Tiago made us feel like we were staying in his personal guesthouse, not a massive, value driven chain hotel and Casey likewise.
If an Area Manager or Premier Inn executive is reading this, whatever you are paying them, it’s not enough.
- Jacqueline777a (2/5): Won't stay again! - Dreadful stay. Might have been in the next room. No sound proofing so heard everything, snoring and walking about all night. Only 1 towel in the room fir both of us and only thing available to eat at 11.30am early check in was a packet of crisps.
To finish it off the taxi service provided at the dedicated reception phone was 15minutes late!
Tip- use Western Cars they're much better!
Won't be staying here again.
- Stay680340 (8/5): Staff member outstanding BUT … - Staff member outstanding but the hotel and rooms need a little bit of love and attention updating, cleaning routines we are guessing are being rushed and bits being missed.
At breakfast service, we have to report that Sabina is probably the best staff member we have ever encountered at one of your hotels in over 30 years, Friendly warm personal and professional very authentic great customer Interaction, outstandingly perfect in every way.
- sopaca (10/5): Great location, decent price, excellent bed and pillows - all we wanted - We wanted a hotel within walking distance of Gatwick as we had an early morning International flight. The Premier Inn was perfect - it was literally yards from the Sky Train (between the two terminals) station and the price didn't break the bank. As ever, a decent, clean room with a suburb bed and decent pillows.
We walked less than five minutes back into the South Terminal and had a great dinner at Giraffe which is handily before security. All in all, a great start to our holiday.
- 320sarahr (4/5): Beware No coy mattress - Stayed with my partner and 18 month old. No mattress provided in the travel cot. Said its company policy not to provide them. This was not stated when booking or on the confirmation. This needs to be much clearer. Not sure how making a makeshift mattress from a duvet and towels is safer for my little boy than the actual mattress. Advice note given from the hotel says not to use any other cot mattress not designed for that specific cot…!! Yet they don’t provide one!
We won’t be back with premier inn if this the policy. Ridiculous when every other hotel we’ve stayed in can provide one.
- Dreamer37318359739 (6/5): Premier Inn Gatwick - The location was great The receptionist Lea - Ann was more than helpful and provided us with all our needs above and beyond the call of duty
The atmospher was good, the room was superb, the value was good, the cleanliness was excellent, the noise level great, but unfortunately the service in the restaurant at night was slow, the drinks expensive, and the food not hot and that spoilt the whole stay
- LLM59 (2/5): Won’t be staying here again. - We arrived at 11pm to check in, rang the doorbell. No one answered. Another guest had to let us in and only then did the night receptionist appear from a back room to check us in, there was no way he hadn’t heard the doorbell.
Lift was broken, there was no mention of this before check in just a key card and ‘you’re on floor 2’. The receptionist didn’t even deign to tell us what way to go to find our room, so I asked which way and he pointed to the lift that said out of service, I asked if there were stairs and he just pointed again - they’re behind a door out of sight from reception.
The carpet and headboard in the room had dirty stains and the bathroom needed TLC, the bath panel was water damaged and hanging off and the sink plug hole was filthy.
I’ve never had a bad experience at a premier inn but this was pretty shocking. We checked out around 6:30 in the morning and there wasn’t even anyone around on reception to give feedback to, just an acrylic key drop box.
- Lynn (6/5): - Nobody at reception for ages, was given a disabled room when I am not .
- AMarWil (10/5): Comfortable Stay - Very comfortable stay. Clean hotel and lovely room. Requested ironing board and was surprised that it was delivered so quickly. Would definitely stay again.
- gazzza2013 (10/5): Easy access to Gatwick - Great being so close to Gatwick, free parking, easy check in and out, nice pub next door. Really comfy bed and duvet. Very clean hotel, and very quiet too
- Raymond (10/5): - Very comfortable stay
- chrissS4745OF (10/5): Free parking - Good rooms, nice dinner and free parking. Hotel a bit difficult to find during the night as no sign posting but otherwise nothing to fault
- Naschcu (2/5): Room Smelled Revolting - The exterior looks tired and tatty, which nearly made me drive away. The interior is marginally better yet the endless brown corridors are depressing. The room I had was on the second floor. It smelt disgusting. The sheets were clean, the bathroom was spotless yet the room smelt of sweat and dirty socks, just revolting. There isn’t any air conditioning and only one tiny window so access to fresh air is limited. The only positive was they hadn’t tried to mask the smell with air fresheners.
- Lordalf4587 (4/5): Premier inn, less of the premier. - Quite externally run down in appearance plus half the carpark was flooded after some fairly light rain. Internally a little outdated but ok. Staff were helpful. Our room smelt musty and damp although very clean. The mattress was comfy but the pillows awful and a lot of residual noise from the next floor up during the night. All in all not what you would expect. Good location for the airport however.
- Scenic45988880099 (10/5): Convenient location - Hotel was located on a busy road which could be noisy at times, staff where attentive and breakfast was appreciated ahead of a long day
- carolhX3641LS (6/5): It’s all about the timing!! - Visited as an overnight stay before the airport the next day. Second time we have used this hotel sadly this time not as good. Check in was great nice staff. Room was generally good but had a big issue with the bedding it had dirty marks and the duvet cover was torn not what I expect the issues were obvious when the bed was made earlier. Checkout not great we arrived at 6:25 for the start of breakfast at 6:30 told off by the receptionist who was not friendly. Lady chef was great super friendly helpful and welcoming. Said it all when we handed in the key to be told bye, clearly don’t ask if everything was ok. Sorry we upset your early staff with a five minute timing issue will look at another premier inn next time such a shame we were very happy with this one before.
- W5215MAmaureend (10/5): Super overnight stay again - Excellent overnight stay again - airport proximity. Super staff as always. Young man on Reception at 1.00am last night and again all the staff in the breakfast area - give 100%. Many thanks and especially for the freshly cooked eggs, sausages and tomatoes! Thanks also for helping us with a coffee to "go" for our onward journey. We will be back. Maureen & Peter
- lourY835JH (10/5): Amazing! - Went here with my family it was a lovely experience, the staff are absolutely amazing! They were very catering and made us feel so welcome food was amazing would definitely go there again!
- 892rebecca (4/5): Bed bugs! - Booked for 1 night as we had an early morning flight. We saw an infestation company van parked at the hotel which made us a little nervous- the exterior of the building did not look pleasant and a little run down.
When we arrived and checked into our room, we found blood on the bed sheets. Reception staff were very apologetic and changed the bedding straight away. However, these new sheets were still not completely clean and I found dark black spots on the duvet covers- sadly it was bed bug excrement as we later found out…
Towels were also dirty and had makeup stains which we discovered early hours of the morning when getting up for our flight. Therefore we didn’t bring this issue to the attention of reception staff.
Later on during the day after we had checked out, both myself and my partner are covered in bed bug bites from our stay!
Unfortunately we will never stay here again and would rather pay the extra money to go elsewhere; despite the room costing us £100. I would not say our stay was worth this money whatsoever…
- L3539TKneals (4/5): Poor standards - The room was very tired, with damage to the desk legs, skirting boards and carpet. The toilet and shower were only of a poor standard with long dark long hair on the walls of the shower.
The night employee ( ponytail) was unwilling to make eye contact or even talk. When asked a direct question, he got up and walked into the back room.
The agreement with the beefeater for breakfast was dictated by the lack of a chef for 2 out of the 4 days. So there was toast on offer.
Shame they cannot save the money on the TV adds and put them into their hotels.
- Sightsee53405661269 (10/5): Gatwick - Used this hotel as close to Gatwick, rooms a good size staff on reception and breakfast friendly would stay again when flying from Gatwick
- Travel67650257808 (10/5): Good stay - Stayed while away for work, restaurant was nice as where the staff. Hotel is very warm but fan provided although air conditioning would have been better
- Coastal570666 (4/5): Honest Marketing? - The marketing of this Premier Inn London Gatwick South is deceptive. In fact it is a 30 minute shuttle bus journey to the South Terminal or a £20 taxi fare. In reality this 'Gatwick South' hotel should be marketed as 'Gatwick North' in my opinion. It would be more honest to make this clear.
- lorrainehS2624LZ (10/5): Excellent - Nice and clean nicely cooked food and lovely staff,
There was an emergency in the car park just as we arrived , staff handled the situation very well as well as checking in guests at the same time, excellent valje. Got the rooms for £45 per night would stay here again
- Q6984LXtonia (10/5): Excellent staff, lovely breakfast, comfy beds. - Stayed the night before we flew, way cheaper than south terminal one.
Beds lovely, rooms clean.
Breakfast was delicious and the staff amazing - especially the chef serving, she couldn’t do enough for you! Offering all kinds of eggs nothing too much trouble. Also the guy clearing kept it spotless and always smiling.
A lovely start to a holiday and a little gem made wonderful by its staff.
- 283Traceyx (10/5): Nice cozy place - No lift for people but there is a lift for luggage that I was not informed off till I lugged my case up to the second floor, rooms standard premier inn clean tidy, small reception area no sitting area but there is a beefeater attached for drinks and meals,
- Happiness45521318118 (10/5): Best choice for an airport close to Gatwick Airport - We have stayed at this Premier Inn twice in the last two weeks. Once before our holiday and last night upon our return. The outside of the building and the grounds need a little investment but the warmth starts as soon as you arrive at the reception desk. All staff are very pleasant and helpful but a special mention to Janis who looked after us at breakfast this morning and to chef who made us some lovely porridge with Soya milk.
The rooms are up to the usual high standard and the hotel, while close to the airport, doesn’t suffer from any aircraft noise.
If you book early it’s also very good value.
- 112russellj (10/5): Staff polite and courteous - Staff polite and courteous
Very friendly and happy.
Rooms very good as expected.
Pleanty of parking.
Bathroom clean as was the whole room.
👍
- Karanthomas2019 (2/5): So disappointed. - DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL. We have just been fined £100 for one night stay. We input our registration number into the machine in the hotel foyer. Rang the hotel they said nothing to do with them it’s a private parking company!!
No food facility at the hotel, there is a pub opposite, it’s dark, dingy and food is dreadful.
So disappointed with the hotel for not helping with this £100 fine!
DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL ITS DREADFUL.
- Y1401VLalang (4/5): Poor - Uncomfortable bed rock hard pillows dirty bed sheets tried to speak to a member of staff wasn’t interested,
Travelled with my pregnant daughter when we arrived we were too early to check in asked to use a toilet for her to be told no we don’t have any asked if she could quickly use the room again told no not helpful what so ever
- jennycH4486JZ (10/5): Stay for a wedding - Great place to stay, very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were a bit tired, could do with a refresh but the bed was very comfortable
- michaelcC9525UL (4/5): Fantastic location, but really needs an Upgrade - The room was tired looking with stains on the walls and skirting boards. For a room that faces the afternoon sun, so invariably will heat up, there was no Aircon. the hotel is next to a dual carriageway, so it was impractical to leave the window open because of the road noise. And although fans were in the room, they were noisy, and also because they were set up to blow over the bed. This meant that the room was very hot and the air blew over my shoulders, which aggravated my frozen shoulder condition. I did not sleep during my stay, which was not ideal because the idea was to be rested before attending a wedding in Rhodes.
We did not eat in the restaurant and only went to the bar, the selection of drinks were limited, Stella Artois was not available and the bar looked shabby, beer pump labels were missing and again leaving the impression of being tired looking.
On the plus side the staff were very friendly and very helpful.
- vettv2025 (10/5): God blessed me here through Rit's good service - Rit is an amazing front desk host. She went above and beyond to help me 3 different times in one night. Once at check in getting me the proper room. Second she returned my z fold phone I sleepily left at the front desk and thirdly helping me track down a runaway Pizza 🍕. I mean she truly is a blessing. Thank you so much!
- Helenmovahedi (8/5): Great experience - Really friendly staff.
Clean room.
Slow to answer emails before arrive, but very helpful on arrival to the premier inn.
- F6473TIdavidc (10/5): Convenient and comfortable. - A convenient and comfortable stay with a clean room and copious amounts of hot water. Although the signs off the dual carriageway to the hotel were difficult to see in the dark, once found the hotel was well lit and the reception easy to find.
- Gourmandsouth (8/5): Pleasant Stay - We stayed one night here en route to Leicester. The hotel is fine, as expected of a Premier Inn, if a little tired. Our ground floor room had amazing triple glazing obliterating the traffic noise. Sadly it was impossible to wash in the bath as the soap was out of reach on the wall. Breakfast was good but not very hot so needed hot plates. We’ll happily return.
- Incy2571 (8/5): Good for a stop off before a flight. - Good stop off for a flight from Gatwick. Room comfortable although no air con so could get warm but we knew this from previous experience and it is stated when you book. Easy parking. Excellent value for money.
- Roving764710 (4/5): Beefeater partner restaurant give it a miss - To be clear the hotel is fine if you need to be in the area. No problems with it so this review is slightly unfair on Prem really. We have.Stayed there a number of times and usually do the meal deal breakfast / dinner package which is quite good value and is provided by their partner company Beefeater.
This time however the expirience was terrible. Everything from wait time to be seated ,although we already booked a time slot. We were there there nearly 3 hours and not one table had been cleared of plates by previous diners. Dirty napkins on the floor along reciepts, overflowing bins at the workstations, terible service and food the list goes on. If we thought the dinner was bad the breakfast was worse! So many things wrong, dirty cups and plates being the tip of the iceberg. We were told that this particular Beefeater is on the market hence the bad service / quality. Happy to book the hotel again but if were the hotel management I would be having strong words with their food and beverage supplier as I paid Premier Inn for the package not Beefeater so the responsabilty is with them to sort it out.
- jenlI12TI (6/5): Smelly carpet - Overall stay was okay but the carpet was quite smelly, smelt of dog. Free Coffee was not to my taste as it was sthe ground Nescafé. No Aircon, fan provided was not string enough.
- Joynal (4/5): - They have no AC! Just two standing fans blowing around hot air.
- georgiacO2984KP (10/5): Another fab stay - I have stayed here before and this time had an even better stay, the staff here are so kind and welcoming. Abby on reception remembered us and we had a card and some chocolates in our room. We Love staying here and will always come back. Cleaning lady was also very helpful and always made sure we had enough towels.
- Yvonne (10/5): - The property was very clean and inviting. Staff very friendly.
- Maps50282615619 (10/5): Pleasant stay - Really nice little hotel. Clean, spacious rooms (way bigger than the other hotels we stayed in on our trip.) Friendly staff. The only downside is that although you can get room service, you have to go next door to the attached restaurant and pick it up yourself, then carry it back. But handy to have that option, considering this isn't a 5 star hotel.
- JennyR786 (10/5): Thoughtful receptionist - The receptionist was very friendly on arrival. She also had turned the air con on before we arrived. The room was large and very comfortable. It was nice to have a walk-in shower. The air conditioning worked really well (it was a very hot Saturday).
Breakfast on Sunday was great. I didn’t like the look of the granola so had weetabix for a change. The hot part of breakfast was cooked to order and was tasty and hot.
If we need to come back to the Medway area we will stay here again.
- VickyG1982 (6/5): Bad breakfast - I would have scored this higher if it had not been for our poor experience at breakfast.
The room was clean and comfortable, the aircon was working well. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Only thing I would consider would to be change the plug sockets to have USB.
Hotel staff we spoke to seemed pleasant and helpful.
On to the bad!
Breakfast was not a good experience, the only good part was the cooked breakfast.
The coffee machine never worked.
They ran out of croissants/muffins
The fruit salad looked like it had been sat there hours
If you went for continental you would have been very disappointed!
The toilets were unclean and lacking toilet roll
The staff were very unprofessional, one member of staff sat at the entrance on the work phone complaint about work (unclear if this was to a work colleague/personal) but we could hear this from our seat. The other member of staff was talking very loudly to some diners she knew about sweating her tits off and other inappropriate comments.
There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and with 2 members of staff it wasn’t like they was rushed off their feet to address some of the issues.
I would come back to the hotel but eat somewhere else. We have stayed at quite a few premier inns and this is the worst breakfast experience we have had.
- yvetterZ9350XD (10/5): FIRST BUT NOT LAST VISIT - Fantastic staff in Reception and Restaurant next door. Very friendly and informative. Could not do enough for us.
Very very clean. Fantastic value for money. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order. No complaints at all.
This is the only place I would consider staying if we went up to visit the family again
- chrishJ994GO (6/5): Lack of staff = No cooked breakfast - Stayed here on business, as have done plenty of times.
Nothing mentioned on check in but when went for breakfast at the pub next door which had been paid for (£10) was told it was continental only and nothing cooked available this week.
Obviously not the ladies fault she was just left to tell everyone.
They are very short staffed and have no Chef available to cook breakfast. Still happy to take the money and charge for it though at checkin at the hotel. (£10 for a yogurt and 2 slices of toast !!!)
Very poor and next time down will look to book somewhere else.
- 139douglasl (4/5): Business stay - Room basic. Bed comfortable but that is about all I would say is good. Hotel and adjacent Beefeater is dying a slow death .
Tvs in bar not working as Sky not paid for.
I imagine it will be kocked down and turned into flats at some point. Although I doubt they will be affordable for local people.
- Earthcare (2/5): Ripped off with no breakfasts! - I stayed here with family on the night Friday 7th March, paying £21.98 extra for two breakfasts on Saturday 8th March. When we arrived for breakfast we were told that the kitchen was out of order but we could get a refund from reception. So we walked down to Wetherspoons, had an excellent breakfast and when we checked out the manager promised to refund my credit card. I've chased twice since but still no refund.
- georgiacO2984KP (10/5): Great stay at this little premier inn with great customer service. - Lovely Little hotel and very friendly staff. Abby on reception was extra helpful to my elderly mum and made her feel very welcome. Thankyou for the lovely stay and will be coming back. Hotel is near local restaurants and shops so great location for things to do.
- 38jaynet (8/5): Hotel ok but breakfast a big let down - The walls in the bedroom and bathroom were dirty. Bed was very comfy & the shower was good. Breakfast at the beefeater was a real let down. My continental one was fine, I enjoyed it. My husband opted for the fried breakfast and waited 45 minutes from ordering to getting it. The beans were cold, the eggs were hard and it was swimming in grease. It cost £10.99 and he couldn't eat it.
- Z2906YHjohnj (10/5): Great - Extremely helpful polite and friendly staff, was very refreshing to be greeted and dealt with so enthusiatically. One staff member Abby even got me out of a major hole by printing off some important documents I needed for work. Definitely a level above the usual computer says no service I get from premier inns. Also shower was really powerful compared to most.
- philaX4998LD (4/5): Unusually poor for a Premier inn. - Comfortable bed as always. Cleanliness of room was good. What let the stay down was that I booked a meal deal only to find out when I got there that the restaurant (Beefeater) was closed due to having no staff & food!
The receptionist said that I could have my meals at another Premier inn a few miles up the road. I declined this as it was just as easy to eat at an alternative restaurant nearer by.
- mattwR7817OR (8/5): Cozy little hotel in a good location - Nice spacious rooms with very comfy beds and in a great location. Would advise paying for upgraded Wi-Fi as the hotel one is terrible. Also the bathrooms could do with a bit of freshening up but on the whole a nice little hotel with everything around you would need.
