Guest Reviews
- Kezboy (2/5): Horrendous hotel - This has to be the worse premier inn in England. Arrived yesterday from the premier inn at Stevenage north due to work extension and availability. To be greeted by a wedding party that the hotel had no control over, 30 plus kids running round, the place was disgusting. Up till 5am, then up at 8 this morning getting ready, must have been 70/80 in the party. No respect whatsoever. We are contractors working nights. Got no sleep at all. Then today the service is none existent, meal orders wrong. Staff rude, in fact beyond rude. 3 time I’ve stopped here this year. Never again, avoid like the plague. I’ve still another night to endure, I can’t wait for the wedding party to return, what fun!!!
- J6658NQrichardr (2/5): horrendous - Mon 10th November. Took over 2 hours for food to be cooked and arrived cold. Everybody was waiting for food some longer than the 2 hours we waited. Food on the hotplate waiting to be served for 10 to 15 minutes before staff served the food.
It took 30 minutes from taking our order for the drinks to be delivered. Many people where complaining manager refused to come out of his office.
Tuesday 11th November. A different night completly food was served quickly and hot. Darren did his usual excellent job of making sure peoples orders where taken and drinks delivered and food servesd as soon as it was ready. In between cleaning tables after helping in the kitchen. Staff should learn from this excellent employee.
- hazelkilbane (10/5): One night stay - Lovely rooms, comfortable embed. Suited my one night stay. Room was warm and welcoming. Reception was adequate.quick check in process.
- Fearless701530 (8/5): Clean, comfy bedrooms - Stayed here for a week last week and the staff were absolutely top, so pleasant and couldn’t do enough for me. Bedrooms were spacious, comfy and clean. Only thing they lost a star for was the food, I would not hesitate to stay here, but, maybe go elsewhere for your dinner. Breakfast was fine however!
- cjb909 (2/5): Ghastly - An appalling night disturbed by antisocial behaviour of guests running amok in the corridors shouting at the tops of their voices both inside and outside the room, slamming doors loudly so that my nearby room actually shook. Throughout this 2.5 hr experience from 1-3:30 a.m. there was zero support from hotel reception staff, no-one answered the telephone which I rang repeatedly to reception, and no-one checked the corridors for such antisocial behaviour, as they were supposed to. Ghastly
- billycL1762VG (2/5): Dreadful Bar Service - Sat having a pint of lager after a long and fraughtful day and looking forward to follow up with a brandy as a nightcap. Waited 7 or 8 minutes for barman to reappear until eventually at 10.40pm, the chef said she would get the drink for me. As she was about to pour the brandy, the barman suddenly appeared again and said I could not be served as the till closed at 10.30pm. Offers to put the charge onto my room bill or even pay the next morning were flatly refused. Hugely disappointed at such intransigence, particularly as booked in for 3 nights. Most certainly won't be using this particular Premier Inn again!
- Tryfoodlakes (10/5): Very very lovely staff here and rooms are larger than expected - Free parking here 🙂
Staff are extremely helpful , notably Darren and Priscilla , but everyone really.
The room we stayed in was bigger than usual and we had a bath as well as a shower.
We stayed here during the Revivall Church Festival of Miracles.
Can definitely recommend!
- alezenonos (10/5): Simple, convenient and welcoming - I had a really good stay here. The hotel is simple but has everything you need for a few nights away – comfortable room, food and drink options, and a relaxed atmosphere. What really stood out to me was the team: they were genuinely friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make sure things were easy and comfortable. It felt like they truly cared, which made a big difference to the overall experience. A few small improvements could make it even better, but overall it was great value and I’d happily stay again.
- B6760EIedp (10/5): Great breakfasts and rooms; the bed and bedding are exceptional - Great room, bed, staff, and breakfasts. In particular, I liked having a window I could open, a thermostat that actually adjusted the room temperature, blackout curtains that really worked and a very comfortable mattress, duvet and pillows. The evening meal was a slight disappointment: a fairly limited choice (no steak, no gammon, no lasagne) and fairly small portions. But still an excellent, enjoyable stay.
- Freedom28912398556 (10/5): Nice hotel with lovely staff - Stayed for a friends wedding which was nearby, room was clean and very comfy. Had the breakfast the next morning, which for the price paid was a lovely selection of food and everything you could want was covered. The service was exceptional, especially from Darren, who was bubbly, friendly and helpful!
- davidwY791ED (10/5): Customer Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Excellent service from a young gentleman called Stephen tonight. Made both me and my wife feel very welcomed for our night away.
- N5644JVcharliem (10/5): Excellent - Great service from everybody, stand out young man named Stephen. Thanks for making the stay welcoming would recommend to a friend
- U1889LOdannye (10/5): Excellent - amazing experience, and the young man Stephen catered for us for everything we needed excellent customer service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- G6507HJkl (8/5): Comfortable hotel, fantastic breakfast - Spent one night at the hotel. The free parking is a great asset. The room was convenient. clean and very comfortable. The bathroom facilities were also very good. The restaurant, which has a range of different types of seating, provided a reasonable range of pub style food which was adequate. Breakfast was excellent. A wide range of cooked foods for the full English breakfast and ample choice for the continental option. We did experience the key card not working several times, but this was quickly rectified. This happens in other hotels too. Staff were available to assist when necessary. I did have a negative experience when phoning the hotel in advance. The automated system could not answer my questions and no one else was available.
- Aya (6/5): - We booked two rooms and we both had a problem with the keys. Once we get out of the room, the key didn’t work anymore and every time we had to go to the reception even every morning after the breakfast. And the night time the staffs were very busy at the restaurant, so we had to wait like 15 mins to get a staff.
- L409AE (6/5): Room fine, meets minimum needs, but staffing issues - The room and car park were adequate.checkin was easy.
The social restaurant/food had ok menu but very limited quality but the management really need to look at staffing-
unsure how they expect a hotel to be managed and to run hotel check-in, kitchen and a half full restaurant on 3 staff in total (switching between roles). Really Surprised the delays weren't longer. It looks like they really need to consider backup staffing (to cover any absence, assuming that was the cause) and authorising available staff to discount/compensate customers left waiting or having issues (thankfully mine weren't as bad as they could have been). If the hotel can't be staffed as fully as needed then the rooms probably can't be allowed to be fully booked/filled.
- sarahdD2735LZ (8/5): Another lovely stay. - Sofie was fab, a warm welcome on reception and then super helpful and friendly during our evening meal.
Room good as usual from Premier Inn. 2nd twin bed was very hard tho!
Good location , very quiet.
- rdA2667SF (10/5): Customer service - Sofie has been so helpful. Everytime i wanted a drink she has been great. Excellent customer service & polite. Food service had been prompt and on time (nice and hot).
- X5787XAmarier (8/5): Good price, good staff - Fairly priced rooms, food pretty good. Not enough staff on during the first night in The Social and took a long time to get served. Second night was much better, made even more enjoyable due to the fun-natured Darren.
- jamiesP5267AJ (10/5): Really well accommodating - Darren and Leon went the extra mile for me whilst I was in the restruant! Great to see such positive work ethic towards his job and customer facing!
- E5553RJkarenh (10/5): Weekend stay - Comfortable bed, clean room, excellent breakfast. Polite and friendly staff. Free onsite parking. Restaurant on site
- Richard (2/5): - Our stay was unfortunately quite disappointing. The only positives were the convenient location (close to the train station) and the comfort of the bed.
However, the negatives outweighed these:
1. Bathroom issues – There was no ventilation or working fan, leaving the bathroom damp with a persistent, unpleasant odor. Chrome fixtures were rusted, paint was peeling, and despite keeping the bathroom door closed, the smell seeped into the room.
2. No in-room safe – There was nowhere secure to store valuables when leaving for the day.
3. Uncomfortable heat – The room was extremely hot, and the single fan provided was not nearly enough to cool it.
4. Breakfast – Just average, with limited options and nothing particularly special.
5. Billing problem – We were charged twice: once by Expedia when booking and again by Premier Inn at check-in. We only noticed after we had checked out, and attempts to contact the property by phone were unsuccessful, as no one answered.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and we were eager to leave.
- Ian (10/5): - The Food was great. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean
It would have been nice to have a fridge and a safe in the room to store my passport and valuables
It would have been nice to have an iron and drawers to put things into. I stayed for 5 nights so all the above would have made the stay a better experience
