Guest Reviews
- PeteBT66 (4/5): Poor room conditions - worse reception support - On arrival the parking machine (in hotel reception) was broken causing concern for the 15 day long stay period we required - the reception staff were totally ignorant and unhelpful of managing the concern with it being a car park management or “Horizon problem, not theirs!”
Although on research with having booked through Holiday Extras and by providing the VRM online this apparently removed the need for the machine (remains to be seen on our return)
The room had sticky blood or chocolate stains at numerous locations on the carpet throughout: the bathroom sink plug was permanently down and I couldn’t drain my shaving water, brushed teeth water and general washing hands water after ablutions! Really painful process…
Informed the receptionist on booking out and was met with hurumph and I’ll get a screwdriver to drain it. What, for every time I use it, came my return?!
Unprofessional and devoid of basic common courtesy.
On a good note ideally placed to the station for the short and cheap (return) journey to the airport departure
Very disappointing
- rachelsW4524RI (10/5): Friendly, Helpful, and a Lovely Welcome from Melitta - I’d like to leave some lovely feedback for Melitta at Premier Inn Luton. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful from the moment we arrived. After a long day of travelling, her kind approach and easy professionalism made everything feel so much smoother. It’s rare to meet someone who works with such warmth and patience, and she really made a positive difference to our stay. Thank you, Melitta, for being brilliant.
- deanothethird (8/5): A premier inn in need of tlc - Needs a little tlc mattresses not upto usual standard but everything else was the restaurant next door although food nice service slow
- dannyfD9144NR (10/5): Very good Hotel - Very friendly and helpful check in staff. Room was clean and comfortable bed. We stayed because we were flying out early the next morning and it fulfilled our needs greatly.
- B9942YUstephanieb (10/5): Friendly staff - Lovely, friendly staff and exceptionally clean rooms and reception area. Ideal for families staying. Would recommend :)
- Quest56603920607 (10/5): Business stay - Very pleasant experience, very friendly and speedy check in with Sri and the team. I stayed here on a business trip and would definitely recommend this hotel.
- traviswV3307EX (10/5): Clean and tidy - Was a lovely stay, very clean and tidy with lovely staff highly recommend. Very handy coming back from the airport and the staff went above and beyond to help.
- louisebU5140OE (10/5): Great stay - We had a great stay before our holiday, the staff were great and rooms were very clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
- V1239UOryand (10/5): Understanding - I had the best hotel experience, there was a great young man who greeted me on reception he’s name was Ollie amazing customer service , anything I needed he helped instantly with no problems and a great big smile. My stay was perfect no problems or anything bad to say. Happily stay again without a doubt , many thanks to Ollie and he’s team !
- robbielN8682BH (10/5): Great staff and great stay ! - One of the best Premier Inns I’ve stayed in for business, reception area was emasculate and welcoming, and the young receptionist was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. A great impression. I will be staying here when I’m on my travels again
- Quest05353495855 (2/5): Beware Cars Vandalised - Car Park Vandalism
Glass all over car park when arrived
Back to.car early morning rear window smashed along with 3 others.
Holiday ruined
Reception did not care and only comment was that the car park did not belong to them.
Police informed - common issue.
Needs to be made secure.
On a positive hotel was fine and staff at Beefeater were brilliant.
- E9938QLaimees (2/5): Worst hotel on earth - Me and my partner we were on our honeymoon. It was supposed to be the best experience as I've been to other premier inn hotels before but never was disrespected like this before. We came to the hotel on November 13th, we got our key so far it was all ok. The next day we asked the staff "in the morning" may I add it was around 9:30 am if we could have the room cleaned, which the reception bluntly said we cannot offer it as it was too late apart from that we wished that he take a look at the sink because it was blocked, which he said he would do and put fresh towels for us. When the card we had in the room clearly said by 12 (noon) we have to tell them. Which was already upsetting starting the holiday on a bad note. We came later in at night and nothing was done we had to go down and bring everything ourselves and asked the receptionist again if he could make a note that we would like that the room is to be cleaned every single day. The 15th we came down to reception there was a women with blond her. She was a little rude but at least when we said we wished for the room to be cleaned it was done. From a 6 night trip it was only cleaned once. We told the reception staff 4 times that we wanted our room to be cleaned and they all laughed directly in ours faces. You clearly have management problems of you can't even communicate properly. On our last night we spoke to the manager he gave us a complimentary room which was a suite but the damage was already done. It wasnt only that the breakfast staff barely acknowledge you it's like you commited murder. At any time you go in for breakfast the buffett is always empty. You have to run after staff to get something, the cranberry juice tastes like plastic (they don't clean the dispenser at all) there was a staff with red hair she gave is a carton which tasted fine so the problem was from the dispenser. Such a disaster you should be ashamed of yourselves.
- CosmicKite (10/5): Great Choice For Early Next Day Flight - Turned up on a freezing cold November night and we were so happy that Sri and Raja got us checked in an efficient and friendly manner. Recommended 👍🏻
- PhilHeath (10/5): Great staff - great stuff! - Arrived early but met with a great member of staff UJI who was very helpful. He was able to find me a room and I was able to get some work done.
This saved me a load of time and I was very appreciative - Thanks Uji - great stuff
- N9056KOkellyw (10/5): Great reception staff - SRI and RAFA great reception staff very welcoming and very kind asset to company room lovely clean for our night stay before we fly asld food at beefeater was lovely
- angelaj828 (2/5): Distant to Airport. - Staff were very pleasant and we had a quiet night stay however, this was a £20 cab ride from the airport. I could not recommend this to anybody. There is no shuttle we saw rats in the car park, litter everywhere and in general the on site restaurant the Beefeater needed a full renovation. Overall impression was dissapoiting.
- Passport59240502691 (10/5): Positive experience - A warm welcome from the receptionist at 1am.
Lifts were working, I didn't see rats in the car park. A lovely clean and quiet room. The following evening
I went to a nearby restaurant but it was very busy. I returned to the beefeater instead, it was ok, I should have reserved a table at my first choice. I will next time!
- Sightseer781195 (10/5): Our room was very clean and we will come back here again if we are in the area. Love the peaceful atmosphere here - Raja and Sri were very polite and welcoming at the reception. They made us feel at home from the onset. The reception area was very clean
- Lucylucy27 (10/5): Really great stay! - Great location to the airport.
Atmosphere was calm and relaxed when we arrived. The foyer was very clean. The staff were lovely and very helpful, especially uji on reception, he was a delight to deal with and very helpful. We really appreciated the email communication about the lifts being out of service, although the issue was promptly fixed by the time we arrived. The room was spacious with good facilities and very clean and well set up . Easy to find as was marked well in the hallways/ door. We certainly made it a home from home for our stopover.
Thanks for having us and keep up the good work!
- lloooottttuuu (10/5): Amazing - Raja and Shiva were an exceptional team and fantastic example of a perfect delivery of hospitality. From start to finish they went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.
To there managers please mirror these two for all the team at the hotel and the beefeater.
They deserve a very very well done. The best uk hotel experience we have had.
- 969scl (8/5): Clean and Comfortable - I paid £100 to stay one night including full breakfast for 2. Not exactly low cost. As usual, Premier Inn bedrooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. Free parking after registration at the reception. It was great to see the TV HDMI port is on the wall, without fiddling at the back of a TV as in other hotels. I could use my Fire TV stick with ease. The downsiad is the slow speed of the free Wi-Fi, I could only stream at 240p without buffering. We had the breakfast at the adjoining Beefeater. For hot/cooked breakfast, it is not a buffet like other, it cook to order, not suitable for someone in a hurry. Also every item is smaller, e.g. small bacon, etc.
- G7385ATdonnam (6/5): Van broken into, room stank of cigarettes - The room stank of cigarettes, all my clean clothes absolutely reeked.
Having no working lift is inconvenient.
The absolute worst thing is that two of my vans got broken into at 9pm at night! CONTRACTORS BEWARE!!! They watch you go to the pub and then break into your van. Peeled the door back like a banana, luckily had taken everything of value out but the guy next to me lost absolutely everything.
Think carefully before you stay here! Police not interested and there was a camera on the van but manager wouldn’t let us look at it or even look at it himself to help us track who done it.
- jaysingh_12 (10/5): Very satisfied - Good clean fast service and brilliant location with excellent service from all the staff. Comfy rooms and quiet peaceful
- 360selenap (10/5): Weekend visiting family - Stayed over the weekend whilst visitng family nice hotel good rooms breakfast was really tasty would friendly staff good location
- claraexplora (10/5): Lovely hotel - Lovely hotel with very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble overall very good hotel and would 100% stay again thankyou to the team :)
- jendB5720NU (4/5): Mixed feelings - Such a mixed experience.
The welcome was incredible, as was our evening meal. Such a lovely start to our trip. The room was great for our needs and we had a lovely meal in the pub next door, the staff couldn’t do enough for us.
We didn’t sleep particularly well, this isn’t the hotels fault however, noisy guests.
The breakfast was particularly disappointing. We were greeted by a lovely lady who apologised that there was no hot food due to staff shortages. We decided to stay anyway as we were limited on time and managed to have a few bits of toast.
However, there was a member of staff (Mark) who was rude and completely out of order, swearing in front of customers (including my 10 year old daughter) and being rude to the other members of staff.
Such a disappointing end to a decent stay.
- Q5662MNchristinew (8/5): Wifi an issue. - Everything was great except for the lack of any Wifi or signal. Really frustrating as needed to keep in touch with family at the time. This is a necessity in this day and age. Really needs to be sorted as soon as possible. Hoping to stay there again in late November but will wait to see if WiFi improves before booking.
- N2723CPneils (2/5): Last time no cooked breakfast, this time no wifi - No wifi in my room and no mobile signal so unable to get any of the work done that I needed to. Local management confirmed the wifi was a problem and was being fixed but no advance notice given as otherwise I would have stayed elsewhere.
- Barjan1 (6/5): Don't stay on the ground floor! - Hotel is in a good location, clean, comfy and parking is aplenty. We were unfortunate to be on the ground floor as we booked a family room. The noise from the upstairs room woke us at 1am, just from people walking around, dropping things on the floor and opening and closing drawers. The soundproofing is non existent so please beware.
- 114aj (6/5): Poor example of a Premier Inn - Sadly not the best Premier Inn experience. Room dated and in need of refresh. Breakfast no longer cooked to order and coffee, toast etc all located in very cramped space which led to crowding. Breakfast used to be a highlight in this hotel but definitely not anymore.
- deigew2019 (10/5): Budget friendly clean and comfy - Does what it says on the tin really. Super easy to book online, very budget friendly, clean, with a comfy bed and a hot shower. Car park is large, easy access from nearby road network. Next to the pub for breakfast where the staff were super friendly and efficient.
- paulbQ853LO (4/5): Robot staff on reception - After a 6 hour drive I arrived at the Maidstone Premier Inn at 1440 the room was ready but I was told if I wanted to check in before 1500 it was a £15 surcharge so I had to sit in car for 20 mins I appreciate rules are rules and if arriving when room not ready or hours in advance ok but when room ready and 20 mins early then have some common sense
- I2709ZLlukef (10/5): Great staff - Suzanne was great, facilities and service great.
Internet around the whole area isn’t great but they tried their hardest.
- Lex (8/5): - Prima hotelkamer met naast hotel goed gelieerd restaurant en zeer aardige omgeving aan het water. Tevens vlakbij afrit snelweg.
- Airlineconsultant (8/5): Mobile/wifi issues - The hotel is unfortunately in a mobile not spot/dead zone. So – at least if you use the EE or Vodafone networks – there is no mobile signal for calls or data roaming; worst on the western side of the hotel. This extends to the other parts of the business park – it amazes me that these businesses collectively accept this situation rather than securing eg a booster mast.
This was critical, as during my stay, after negative comments about the state of the wifi at the hotel, they decided to upgrade/improve it, which went wrong, so there was no wifi at all. No wifi, no roaming, no phone calls – you suddenly realise how indispensable this is for modern day life. Consequently, for any emails/calls/messaging, I had to drive to a car park lay-by about a mile away to conduct my business and I missed a key Zoom call at the hotel through lack of any available communication channel. There seemed no sense of urgency at the front desk trying to fix the issue.
Otherwise, the hotel was very nice indeed. I knew there was no AC on booking, but the south facing room did become quite warm. The room was as clean and well presented as ever. Some minor background traffic noise when the window was open. Breakfast in the adjoining Beefeater was very nice, although it is ordering from the host rather than self-service for the hot options, which I like less than the buffet, as it takes longer/involves more faff. But a very relaxing dining area and everything was in stock.
- suzief (8/5): Lack of AC - L>ovely location. rooms clean. only issue is not able to cool the rooms down in hot weather and windows only open a small amount not enough to get good air circulation which is also impossible with curtains closed. When sleeping you need to close widows to avoid road noise so you can sleep.
- connied2024 (6/5): Long weekend away - Long weekend away to visit friends and stayed at the nearest Premier Inn. Room was standard. We were told no air-con in the hotel but fan was provided. Restaurant food was very good and staff were friendly.
- 643darenr (8/5): Good, convenient and comfortable stay. - A 2 night break at this hotel whilst visiting friends.
Overall reception was very tidy, with water available aswell as a few leaflets. Parking machine just by the desk where you register your vehicle and number of nights to get free parking (make sure you do this, but receptionist did ask if I had done it). Speaking of the receptionist, she was extremely polite, cheerful and helpful.
Room was on the ground floor and at the back of the hotel, it was extremely quiet with a powerful shower and lots of hot water which did not fluctuate in temperature. Room was clean, comfortable bed and plenty of space. Yes the room / hotel does not have air con but a room heating system, my room stayed about 20-21.5 degrees, but you can open the window slightly to bring it down abit and also there is a fan in the room (this fact has led me to drop my rating from 5).
Did not eat in the Beefeater therefore unable to comment. A very comfortable stay with easy access to Macclesfield, and have booked to go back in a couple of weeks for another 3 nights due to an event.
- A8023OXstevel (8/5): Macclesfield North Premier Inn - In general our stay was good clean and tidy and pleasant staff in both the hotel and restaurant and good food in the that Beefeater.
However the temperature in the room was an issue, the thermostat was set at 25.5 and would not adjust, it went back to that reading every time.
There was no option to switch it off, this made for an uncomfortable night.
The instruction leaflet in the room did nothing to help the situation.
Having stayed in many Premier Inns over the years this is something that Whitbread needs to address as there are many more reviews on here that highlight the same issue at other locations.
- 526gs526 (8/5): Exactly what you expect from a premier inn - We used this a stop over on the way to Alton Towers. Got a room on the ground floor which is ideal for kids. Comfy beds and a quiet night. Exactly what you need after a long drive. Breakfast was really good. Chef was very friendly.
- Winclouduk (10/5): Great - Great atmosphere. Staff great and all the basics you would want from just a base. Food offered at beefeater next door. Always extra items on request at reception. Reception not always manned due to staff being made to do jobs that are not really their jobs but I still recommend this place.
Great view of the river.
- peternW9913QU (10/5): Great staff - Excellent warm staff who couldn’t do enough for us.
Value for money . Good beds. Plenty of towels and tea and coffee in. The room.
Fab breakfast.
- 928tone (8/5): Nice place to stay & eat - Good helpful pleasant staff, comfortable room, good food.
Everyone I met at this Premier Inn / Beefeater was a joy to talk to. such a refreshing change. Hotel price a little over priced I think.
- susanlE591UG (6/5): Friendly helpful staff but hotel run down and jaded - Room OK but tired. Had to ask for glasses. Bathroom in poor condition.
Staff friendly and helpful. Effort made to keep rooms and public areas clean. No WIFI when we were there and is a phone black spot. Do not recommend using the Malta Inn next door which provides food. That is very rundown and dirty although it has a riverside setting and was once a reliable restaurant. Harvester up the road much better and has an EV charger in the car park
- davidaY5125JJ (6/5): Only just worth the money - The hotel did not manage to provide WIFI for a whole week. That is shear incompetance. Continental beakfast was boring and not worth the money. Ithought the asscoiated Befeeter was looking tired , Great location but edge taken off the vacation.
I think with climate change even budjet UK hotels should consider AC becasue the fan was not quite enough
- tracyw240 (10/5): Superb Food & Service - You know what your getting with a premier inn & it delivered nicely.
The real bonus is the restaurant and staff, who were extremely efficient & friendly and made us feel very welcome.
We had lunch with family on arrival and then two morning's breakfast.
Gentleman in charge (sorry didn't get name), is excellent & deserves recognising for his cheerful, friendly & efficient manner. We will be staying again when here visiting familty.
- addo3283 (2/5): Don’t add breakfast to your booking - I always use premier inn for business trips and until this stay they’ve been amazing. Firstly we were woken at 6:30am by deliveries the driver had no awareness of the time and was making so much noise also the premier inn staff didn’t help as they were also joking with the driver loudly. Next the breakfast at the beefeater wasn’t edible, usually we love a premier inn breakfast, we ordered 2 of each item the hasbrowns were cremated the sausages were hard like they’d been sat on a hot plate for hours the bacon was like leather and the eggs were barely cooked. We waited almost 35 mins for it to arrive and we literally had a mouthful.
- Z4706FSjonathanm (10/5): Fantastic customer care - Our 5 star review is for the customer care at this Premier Inn. My wife is disabled and from the initial friendly and helpful check in, throughout our stay, every member of staff went out of their way to assist us. Make sure you book a disabled shower room if you need a walk in shower. There is plenty of disabled parking right by the entrance to the hotel.
- PaulR288 (6/5): Good value for money but needs some TLC - Room was good value for money, but there was a lot of stains in the room and dust in the room and corridors. Room was way to hot due to outside temperatures and little otion for ventilation. No air conditioning but a fan was provided. locks on windows prevented them being opened wide. Bathroom fan extremley noisy
- Keith1122014 (8/5): Well positioned for access to many Kent features. - Well positioned for access to the county town of Maidstone, Kent. Close to the M20 motorway which connects London to Dover and the channel tunnel and ferry services. The M2 motorway is also a short distance away as well as Rochester Castle a Cathedral.
- X6252HOtraceyw (8/5): Family event - All reception staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful and professional. Room was very clean and extremely comfortable. Excellent location for Family wedding at Kent Life and the River. Restaurant next door and lovely cafe by the river.
- H7042JRkevinh (10/5): Stunning views. - Outstanding stay. The welcome from the staff was first class. Location is perfect with wonderful views along the river. Breakfast was also fab. Throughout our stay every member of staff we met was so friendly. Would definitely recommend. The only negative I should warn you about is that there is little to no phone signal. So if you rely on this it would be a problem.
- P3797FAleeb (8/5): No problem with the Premier Inn: Staff nice and friendly, but the Beefeater was woeful! - Nice place to stay, but avoid the Beefeater and walk 2 minutes up the road to the Village hotel, which has a much nicer restaurant. The Beefeater was awful downstairs, drab, food still left on tables, and floor and no sign of anyone clearing up. Looked the same as when I used to go there years ago before
I moved to Norfolk, terrible. Place needs a good refresh.
- Voyager55703997172 (4/5): Not the greatest Premier Inn. - When passing this hotel on our way back from Maidstone we called in to see if they had a room for that night. Yes they had but would you believe it I was told I had to book it online or it would be more expensive!! Which meant I had to sit in the car park to book and pay for the room on my phone as the WiFi in reception was so weak I couldn't get a signal. That done we booked in and found the hotel must be one of the most basic Premier Inns. It was clean but very worn and dated. Word of warning if you intend to stay there in the winter there is only one panel heater in the room which of course hadn't been switched on so the room was very chilly and took sometime to heat up. No heating at all in the bathroom which isn't too good after a shower. Even though it was a double room only one set of towels had been supplied so had to visit reception again to ask for more.
We also paid for the 'meal deal' for the Beefeater restaurant next to the hotel. Food not brilliant at all, very greasy and basic. I asked if they had anything gluten free and was given a plastic folder with pages of allergy information. Being that I didn't have hours to study the complicated breakdown of the food on offer I just had to trust my own decisions.
I have stayed in a few Premier Inns and always thought the breakfasts were excellent. This ones layout seemed as though it was a temporary set up in the bar. You couldn't help yourself to coffee or tea etc as the machine was behind the bar. No plates, you were given a plate when visiting the very small buffet for hot food, well I say hot, I found the only thing hot was the plate I was given.
Very disappointed and I will not bother to stay there again even though it's a very pretty area.
- NatalieB1683 (6/5): Hotel good, food not good - Parking good, staff friendly and helpful, grounds and hotel quiet at night. Food at the Beefeater was basic and not good quality, staff were hard to find, food was thrown on the table when brought over, expensive for what it is, no atmosphere, dated decor.
- rochelleh760 (10/5): Pleasant Stay - Pleasant stay at this hotel, we came for a night as we were going to a restaurant close by (Millar and Carter)
Room was nice and clean, and the staff were welcoming and friendly.
We also had the breakfast in the attached restaurant, was mediocre.
Would stay again should we be in Maidstone
- 930gloriaw (10/5): Lovely Receptionist - Warm friendly welcome on arrival from
Rachel - Hotel is functional and in a beautiful location with farm next door for the children , we would definitely stay again. Hotel does look a little
bit tired and could do with a refurb, hotel is clean and comfortable with unlimited tea & coffee - Wi-Fi was poor could do with some attention especially for those staying on business !
- E8679ZFmarkc (2/5): terrible - the hotel fire-alarm was activated and the staff had no idea what to do . No direction or information given to the guests
No all clear was given guests just started going back to their rooms walking past the hotel employee who said and did nothing
The hotel employee was running around like a headless chicken
- r0ughc0llie (4/5): OK but would not want to stay there again - Ok stay but the hotel is looking tired with worn carpets and bathroom furniture, shower over bath not very good for older guests and is dated bathroom, also did not like the toilet tissue dispenser instead of toilet roll ... never had that in a hotel before! Staff were friendly at check-in and at the Beefeater next door where breakfast and evening meals are available at extra cost. Mobile signal not good but better when connecting to Hotel free Wifi. It was an ok stay, somewhere to put your head but was expensive tbh and not somewhere I would choose to stay again if I had to in the area
- Trail64206708963 (10/5): Lovely hotel - Lovely clean room such friendly staff would go again and will recommend a really lovely stay nothing to much trouble for the staff from the moment we walked in beds so comfy and clean and in a lovely location as I said would definitely stay again
