Guest Reviews
- Carla (10/5): - Great location for Chatsworth visit at a reasonable price.
- Resort190623 (10/5): Top marks - The room was spotless
The staff were Lovely
The “thyme” restaurant was great
I ordered a mixed grill, they accidentally sent a full steak, i did say just in case it was the wrong table , the chef said oops, my bad, and they apologised for delaying he rest of my mixed grill so I got a full 6oz steak
The breakfast was outstanding too
I ate so well!
Excellent Staff and service
- nicolat210 (10/5): Comfortable nights sleep and a warm welcome! - Due to family in the area, I have stayed at premier inn in Marlborough on a few occasions.
The staff are extremely professional and helpful, rooms comfortable and the food reasonably priced and tasty.
Received a nice welcome present upon arrival too. Highly recommend!
- R158DTmaryh (10/5): Excellent value for money - I was really impressed with the Premier Hotel. For the price, it’s great value, and the place has a warm, welcoming feel to it. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay. The staff were genuinely lovely and helpful, and the hotel is close to everything you might need. All in all, a really pleasant stay.
- caroleh24 (8/5): Good comfy hotel - Clean comfy room, clean bathroom, good wifi. Friendly staff made you feel welcome and were very helpful. Lovely breakfast
- susanmG8687CP (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Have just spent one night here after our trip to Chatsworth House. Very friendly check-in. Comfortable room. Had evening meal in the Thyme Restaurant. Compliments to the chef, the food was very good. Also thank you to the waiter, (Russell). He was very friendly and looked after us exceptionally well. Very enjoyable breakfast in the morning and againhelpful staff. Would recommend.
- RuthM740 (2/5): Really Poor Premier Inn - The beds in rooms 209 and 219 were not up to standard, they were lumpy and uncomfortable. The lack of someone on reception was infuriating. The car parking wasn't clear and having to register your vehicle on a separate consule to the check in one was ridiculous. The check in consule wouldn't permit 2 key cards to be created for the room of multi occupancy which was irritating. The restaurant was too small. There were way too many items unavailable on the menu including silly things like tartare sauce which could have easily been remedied with a quick trip to a supermarket. There were only 2 servers in the restaurant and the one who appeared to be in charge (female) spent the majority of her time chatting to her friends, and left the bulk of the work to her colleague (male) who appeared to be unwell or in pain when he moved about. There is no bar or sitting area either, so having a quiet drink and a chat wasn't possible. Room 209 was obviously located close to something that the staff used throughout the night, as there were constant bangs of doors and equipment. With no one manning reception, and with this area being in full view of the restaurant, we did not feel comfortable in walking down to complain about the poor night's sleep and constant noise.
- R112NKjeremyk (10/5): Always a good stay - Always look forward to good staying at Premier Inn. Even better if you can book it early and get a room at a reasonable price!
- 426venetiab (10/5): Great location, clean and good sized room with comfy bed. Great restaurant on site with varied menu and great breakfast. - 2nd time I have stayed here. Good sized room, clean and bed very comfy. Restaurant on site is very good with a varied menu which meant I didn't have to go out to eat. Breakfast excellent with lots of cooked items and fresh fruit and cereal etc. Great location for exploring Derbyshire.
- ToonTravels1958 (10/5): A lovely hotel with lovely staff - Just a one-night stay to break up the journey to the North. It was absolutely lovely though. Very clean, quiet and cosy. We enjoyed supper and breakfast in the restaurant very much. The staff were all exemplary: friendly, helpful and very professional. We would definitely stay again if we’re in the area.
- HiDi52 (6/5): Good and bad points. Wouldn’t stay at this one again. - Will start on their positives:
Breakfast: This Premier Inns has an open kitchen from where the hot breakfast buffet is served/ therefore the chef is constantly able to see which items need replacing and keeping on top of the buffet. The breakfast chef, Katie, deserves a special mention for juggling the demands of providing a hot fresh breakfast buffet to a busy hotel which she did with competence and a smile. She should be recognised by management - a great asset to your company.
Also Russell, who staffed the bar and restaurant in the evening was a polite, friendly and delightful staff member. Both he and Katie deserve a pay rise!!!
Another positive is the location of the hotel in respect of Chatsworth House, which was the purpose of our stay.
Now the negatives…..
Rooms: There has been no fresh air In these rooms since it was built as no opening windows and it is evident in the stale, sweaty smell of the room. The heating/aircon system will not go below 19 degrees so the room was permanently hot and smelly.
Sleep: Poor sleep on both nights due to the stifling heat in the room which became quite claustrophobic over night. There is no good night guaranteed at this premier inn.
Restaurant/Bar: As with many other premier inns this hotel has no attached pub- just an area which opens as a “bar” and restaurant in evening and where breakfast is served. This only opens at 5pm so no where to have a drink and snack on arrival. The bar is just a cabinet of drinks- no draft beers etc, just bottles. We chose not to eat at the hotel as the restaurant was lacking atmosphere and was a basic cafe type environment serving basic food.
We have stayed at many Premier inns but this one was lacking and needs money investing in it.
- GoPlaces231965 (10/5): Overnight stop - Overnight stop prior to photography in Savanack Forest . Ample free parking , warm welcome , clean spacious room with good amenities .
Excellent friendly helpful staff . Good breakfast ( need to book) , and good value dinner and bar . Excellent haddock and chips .
Superb value £52 room only .
- jc795 (8/5): Great hotel in a great location - Another great stay in a Premier Inn. The room was clean, quiet and warm. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The staff in the restaurant were also very friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs, which is surprising these days!
There was plenty of free parking and we really couldnt find any negatives during our stay!
- Discover63782938311 (10/5): Peak District stay - Fantastic stay in The Peak District the location was perfect for visiting all surrounding areas
Tammy and the team were amazing and we were looked after from the second we arrived , the meal deal was fantastic value and we will definitely return soon
- V3745BWtiml (6/5): Very mixed... - A stay of two consecutive nights in different rooms. Location is convenient to reach, for town and for neighbouring shops (Tesco etc). Ample car parking. Clean and bright reception, one check-in machine out-of-order (both nights), no-one to assist (both nights) but the other machine was fine and check-in straightforward. Both bedrooms were relatively spacious, comfortable and clean; one was very quiet, the other somewhat disturbed by noise but perfectly acceptable. The bathroom on the first night had a bath (bonus) and was clean, the only quibble being a leak from the top of the shower which tended to soak the floor. The bathroom on the second night was probably the dirtiest of any hotel that I have stayed in (and I have stayed in hundreds); have a look at the photos. There was no-one at reception to report issues to when I checked out. Nor did anyone answer the phone when I wanted to find out when the restaurant would be open so I ate elsewhere. With a bit of attention to details, this could be a very good hotel for the price; hopefully, it will receive that attention.
- HHH16 (4/5): Hotel as you'd expect but breakfast disappointing - The hotel itself was like most Premier Inns. The room was standard and fairly clean. We had booked a family room and twin room but only the double beds were made up in both rooms and when I managed to find the housekeeper, both rooms were down as being booked as singles on her list, but she did then say she would make up the sofa into the extra bed. I was glad we checked in before visiting family or not sure what we would've done if we had checked in late and beds not made. We didn't realise we needed to book for breakfast. There was nothing in the room to say what time breakfast was and when we ask the time of breakfast at reception when we got home that evening, and were asked if we wanted to book, only very early or very late times were still available. Breakfast first morning was OK but very slow to be replenished. Second morning one member of our party got their breakfast then we were told the trays would not be refilled and someone would take our order, but we could order more if we wanted, as it was a buffet. We then had to wait 35 minutes for our food, but which time the person that good their food first had long since finished, and we were later than planned going out & meeting family. We couldn't then have seconds as it took so long. The food was not great quality for the price. If we'd known, we would have gone out for breakfast. It is just usually quicker and easier to have the buffet.
- susangE1583BR (10/5): Lovely Inn, a short walk from Matlock - Great that my sister and I could have a proper single bed each. Breakfast and evening meal was very good, and we could walk into Matlock from the Premier Inn. Very clean, friendly staff, would recommend and would like to return. Heights of Abraham was well worth a visit.
- clairerugg (8/5): Lovely stay with 2 young children - Overall a lovely stay, very comfortable and quiet (noise not volume of occupants) weekend despite half term and staff were lovely. If you eat in the restaurant after the first sitting at 5, be prepared to wait, as they don’t have enough staff, but the food is lovely when it comes!
- JamieR585 (10/5): Typical excellent Premier Inn experience - As always with Premier Inn a good experience. Comfy beds, good breakfast, great value, good location 15 minutes walk in to town
- Shruthi0101 (2/5): Free online parking is the only good thing here, cleanliness unsatisfactory and staff unfriendly and unwelcoming - Parking on site is free. Outside appearance also good. Room cleaning not satisfactory, didn't even refill toilet tissues. Bathroom and bedroom cleanliness unsatisfactory. Check-in machines out of order. Check-in staff unfriendly and unwelcoming. This is untypical to any premier inn we stayed before.
- Louisefanwah (4/5): Flea in the bed and lame breakfast! - Stayed here overnight as a stop on the way to Northumberland.
Hotel was comfortable but needs some extreme maintenance.
Unfortunately we found a flea in the bed (we know what a flea looks like to an ordinary bug) spoke to the shift manager that didn’t even apologise!
Breakfast was sad, bacon and sausages had black bits all over them, items were not stocked up! We waiting 20 mins for pain au chocolats to finally make an appearance.
Had one serviette for the table. When I asked for more the waitress explained that she hasn’t got many left when I could see a whole packet on the desk 🤔
We won’t be back thank god!
- Smdmac (2/5): Small hotel with terrible customer service - Stroppy receptionist on check in unhelpful and rude. End of the world when wanted to pay for the meal deal in cash so despite having paid for the room by card had to produce photo I.D it’s a small hotel with 58 rooms. We checked in at 4 but could book a table until 7.30 we met our friends in the bar at 5.30. There’s an offer for 2 cocktails for £12 the only problem is they don’t have a cocktail menu fortunately after 15 mins they found someone who knew the list -all 2 of them. Over the next 2 hours we watched a new girl work her socks off trying to cover the restaurant and bar. There was a total o 5/6 tables in use for the restaurant. There was an other lady covered reception and turned loads of restaurant customers away as they only had 1 chef. We got our table at 7.30 at a table that had had children on it and their food strewn round the floor. Th new girl was helpful but had no support we got our food an hour later . Breakfast next morning was up to a good standard but was busy and struggled to fill the buffet. We love staying at Premier inns as you can’t usually go wrong but this one let us down, they must have lost a fortune in customers turned away and people giving up on buying a drink in the bar area
- keithdanby12018 (10/5): best breakfast around - we go for breakfast every week excellent food, superb service by Dan and Dawn. They are great people, respectful and efficient. will continue to go for breakfast . highly recommended.
- D1395HIdianet (10/5): Great experience - Can’t say enough good things about the staff at the hotel. All of them were so pleasant, and helpful. We stayed for one night, and had an evening meal and breakfast, and honestly you couldn’t go wrong with either. The lady who was helping out for breakfast went out of her way to bring me some gluten free muesli, just in case I wanted it, and couldn’t have been more helpful. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, and really good value for money. Would definitely recommend to anyone if you need to stay in the area.
- jesswF572KP (10/5): Excellent stay - Lovely comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom with good facilities.
Excellent and friendly customer service.
Lovely food good value for money.
Free parking and close to local attractions.
- G7038YRdominich (10/5): The Game Angling Instructors' Association National Event - Chatsworth House - local Hotel Premier Inn Matlock - The Game Angling Instructors' Association held its 2025 National Event at the iconic Chatshouse House Estate and based its accomodation and evening meals at the very friendly pm and am staffed Premier Inn, Matlock Hotel - over the period 9th October to 12th October.
Great value and super staff. Thank you to those pm and am staff - great assets to Premier Inn.
- C7973MIjamesm (4/5): Disappointing - A good start with ample parking, a clean reception and a clean room.
However, these were the highlights. Excruciatingly poor WiFi (i believe frequency bands were being blocked) meant business tasks had to be done offsite. no amount of tethering, whether it be WiFi or Bluetooth, would work.
Furthermore, the coffee machine, a push button affair, was broken during my 2-night stay. no effort was made to repair it. I appreciate it was a weekend and maintenance staff may not have been available. However, for the model of machine used, a swap-out unit would had mitigated this for little investment.
- Y7086CTkevinc (4/5): Appalling treatment by member of staff towards an elderly disabled couple. - Both me and my husband have mobility issues. I have several chronic conditions including two types of arthritis, COPD, irregular heartbeat and prostate issues. On 3rd October, we went down to breakfast and the staff member on duty told us to sit where we liked. So, in view of our disabilities, we chose to sit as near to the buffet as we could. While we were getting some food, the staff member concerned decided to give our table to a family of four and removed our property from the table. We attempted to reason with her, but she was adamant that the family of four took priority over disabled people. Her behaviour was discriminatory, unacceptable and upsetting.
- I9246UZchristineh (2/5): vile housekeeper - Stayed here and left on Tuesday on the Morton departure a housekeeper named Sarah was screaming at a poor young blonde housekeeper that I have recently learned that her name was Courtney she was very unprofessional and made myself and other guests feel uncomfortable to the point I wish I had said something she was rude and vile and I called the hotel to report what I had seen. I certainly hope they take it very seriously and I hope the young girl is ok
- B6862PBsarahc (6/5): Mixed impressions - Great location and very clean but woken up by washing machines on spin cycle at 5am three nights running. Avoid room 101. Some staff grumpy and unhelpful but others great.
- pamelahC8324PP (10/5): Excellent - Excellent room spotless, breakfast and evening meal deal was excellent could not fault friendly and helpful staff would definitely recommend and stay again price was good too
- ChristineC1762 (10/5): Good place to stay - Visiting nearby family. Good location for us. Short walk into town if you need anything.
Room was clean and comfortable, free WiFi a little slow but still usable.
Lots of places to visit locally if you want to explore.
- dannyms2025 (4/5): Free parking? That's a joke. Be careful of parking scams! - Staff are friendly, rooms were fine, food mediocre, prices moderate for the UK. My main issue is that the staff must have failed to read the registered car numbers on a few of the nights I was booked in as I just received parking fine notices from Europcar for parking at the Marlborough Premier Inn amounting to 225 pounds!
I was booked between Sept 10th and 17th 2025 and received fine notices for three nights within those dates.
Now I'm trying to reach a human being about this fiasco, and it proves very difficult to just get a direct email address for the hotel in Marlborough, so now I have to phone them from here in Japan just to sort this nonsense out!
PS. I stayed in 2024 too, but had no issues with wrongfully issued parking fines. I feel like this is a ploy just to squeeze more money out of innocent tourists.
It's one of those cases where the amount is small enough not to bother with litigation, but large enough to be felt a bit, and of course to sort anything out you have to run around in bloody circles between Parking authority and Hotel and car rental company.
Needless to say I'm pretty pissed off about this. Will not be booking with them next year unless they make this right.
- 1837Karen (10/5): Great stay - Stopped here for the night to break our long journey and again on our return. We did the same last year and thought this year our stay was even better. We were pleased to see Joe again who is so friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. He really does excell as we found a special treat for us in our room on our return visit. He helped us with all our luggage which would otherwise have been so difficult for us as we are all physically impaired. The room was clean with the useful spare pillows as usual. We ate in the restaurant and found the food enjoyable and plenty of it. We went for the meal deal which we find convenient with a good choice of food. My father really enjoyed his black pudding at breakfast which is getting unusual to find in hotels now. Thank you, we hope to see you again next year.
- denisOO (10/5): would recommend Marlborough Premier Inn - The room was clean and offered every thing we needed, but with no frills. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Air conditioning was good, windows don't open. Shower was excellent, good water pressure but no shampoo and conditioner only a liquid that served as shower gel and the hair items. Bed was comfortable so were the pillows. Plenty of parking too.
- Q2217HGdavidc (2/5): Disaster Trip - I was disturbed again and again throughout the night by people sleeping in camper vans my outside window when l complained nobody on reception bothered . I had a sink that took 10 minutes to drain as it was blocked nothing done for the 2 nights l was there . Complained under the “ good night guarantee “ but because it wasn’t recorded l was refused ( how was l to know that l had to ask for this ) I have used PI many times this is the first time l made a complaint/ claim and it appears Customer Service is a misnomer !!
DO NOT stay here
- dejan20222023 (2/5): In need of a full refurb Avoid. - In need of a full refurb. Avoid and book elsewhere. Poor quality food at the restaurant again scruffy in need of a refurb.
- Jasert (8/5): You know what you are getting with a Premier Inn - We arrived a couple of hours before the official check-in time and when speaking with the receptionist we asked if we could leave our car in the car park (as we were early) so that we could walk into town. We were told in no uncertain terms that we couldn't check-in early unless we had paid for it but we didn't ask that, we were only asking if we could leave our car and come back later to check-in! Not a very friendly start.
When we eventually got in our room, it was as expected - spacious, clean and comfortable. Two bath towels were supplied but only one hand towel (not a problem, we were more than happy to share) and there were two extra pillows if required. The bed was large and comfortable but a little too soft for my husband (personal preference, not a complaint). Our room was on the third floor and for safety reasons the window didn't open but there was air-conditioning (instructions included).
We were staying for three nights and on the first evening booked the meal deal - two course dinner and breakfast. The food was as expected for a Premier Inn - nothing special but good value for money. We also sat and ordered a couple of drinks at the bar which is a fairly low key area with not alot of atmosphere - the bar was quiet each night but we were told they were going into the quieter months and they didn't expect to be very busy. The breakfast staff were friendly but the bar tenders and receptionists need to learn to be happier - it doesn't cost anything to smile once or twice!
Malrborough itself is about a 12 minute walk, it is along the main road into the town but there is a pavement, just be careful as the lorries rush past at some speed. We would stay here again as the hotel is in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area.
- pealola (6/5): ROOM NOT UP TO USUAL PREMIER INN STANDARD - I always chose Premier Inn over others as I found that the standard was higher than other budget hotels and we have stayed at many over the years. The bed would be supportive and comfortable and the room would be clean and have everything we need. If possible I now book a Premier Plus room. First time at Marlborough and no Premier Plus available. I booked an assisted room instead to avoid having to climb into a bath for a shower and because it would have a high toilet as we both have mobility issues now.
Premier Inn switched to Silentnight from Hypnos mattresses in 2022. The card on the desk said we had a new Silentnight mattress and could purchase one online. Whereas the beds are usually high, supportive and easy to get out of for us, this one was so low we struggled to get up out of it as it sagged badly when sitting up. As there was only one tatty armchair, my husband used it and I sat on the bed for a cuppa when we arrived before dinner, I knew immediately I was in for a painful night as the mattress had no support whatsoever and sagged down in the middle. It was old saggy and so unsupportive, I woke at 3am in pain. We have stayed in other Premier Inns with the new mattress, but thought if this is also the new mattress, then it's awful! I was so disappointed I took a look under the mattress protector to discover that this is in fact a well worn Hypnos... shock! Hypnos have always been so comfy-I can only assume that this one was very old.
The room (210) looked worn and tatty. Dust on all skirting boards and the toilet was dirty and not up to the usual standard we have come to expect from Premier Inn.
I wonder if all assisted rooms are of inferior quality as there is less demand for these...
PROS
There was lots of parking, the staff were lovely and most helpful and friendly and the dinner was good. Breakfast was great and
Shanan the Chef produced perfect poached eggs to order. Compliments to him and all the wonderful helpful lovely staff. They made up for the bad night sleep we're had.
- rachelmJ1883EX (6/5): Basic, no frills - Located next to a roundabout, with easy access to a Tesco, a Budgens, Costa and a service station. The staff were warm and friendly, particularly the afternoon we checked in.
We were tired after sightseeing and decided to upgrade to a ‘meal deal’ rather than chase around the local area for food. The menu and food although basic were good, tasty and filled the spot. Again staff were lovely.
The room was basic and clean, but strongly smelled mouldy (I did not complain, I could tell it was clean, just smelled mouldy). The building appears new but I feel it has been there for a while and shows signs of water damage at some stage in the past. Which could be the cause of the mouldy smell.
Breakfast was ‘interesting’ instead of the normal ‘full English buffet’ the staff member said it is table service this morning, and that he would come and take our order. Usually we opt for the breakfast as it is easy to eat enough to keep going all day, but with table service it felt restricted. However we were able to fill up on croissants, and the continental breakfast. It seemed like the chef was on his own, which would have been super difficult to manage. The cooked food provided was cooked well and tasty, so he did a great job.
Again the staff during our stay have been lovely, but the owners of the hotel could probably do with some building maintenance.
- X6902ONkarenm (2/5): Awful stay and no feedback! Don’t bother - I stayed with my mum and had a filthy bathroom. Terrible breakfast experiences on both mornings. I asked for the bathroom to be clean when we were out and upon returning at 10pm found that the only thing that was done was the toilet roll was filled (we started off with 5 sheets!!!) after complaint and sending an email to the hotel manager in the morning about all our issues we were given an email address to get our refund. Manager promised to submit our claim for refund which he completely agreed to and had no words for our experience. I emailed and 20 days after our stay we have had no feedback, no refund and after another email had no reply again.
Beware if you want breakfast as many items were missing (bacon, yoghurts, fruit) on one morning and the second wasn’t even a hot buffet! Not what you advertise.
- TheTrivialPursuits (8/5): Pretty standard Premier Inn but no aircon is a killer - The Premier Inn was fine - fairly quiet, which probably would have meant a good night's sleep if it wasn't so hot. The room was baking despite the window being open all day and although they provide a fan (essential really) it didn't do much to cool us off. Definitely needs an upgrade to get some air conditioning in.
- 783stewartc (10/5): Fantastic staff and hotel - Been working away in Marlborough staying here,
The staff are a breath of fresh air and all seem to really care about customer satisfaction,
The food is great
The rooms a really night
The whole place feels modern clean and friendly,
I highly recommend
- elsaw939 (10/5): Lovely breakfast - We came here for breakfast like we do every year on our way to Weymouth. Richard and his team did not disappoint. The breakfast was perfect hot and very fresh. Filled us up to continue our travels. Well done to the chef your food was very nice Thank you
- kayleighm900 (8/5): Table Table is Terrible Terrible - Excellent accommodation!! - but lousy restaurant next door (Table Table). Don’t expect great things for your breakfast.
- ragsyone (6/5): Average premier inn - The family room is quite small and was black mould on silicone around bath, could do with a refurb, staff at reception were excellent, pub which is in same location that you have breakfast in could do with tidying up as outside windows are rotting away and needs a good paint. Breakfast was good.
- U3077WIdavem (10/5): Great hotel for BPW - The hotel is great for bike park wales. The staff and hotel were very mountain bike and mountain biker friendly.
The room was good with everything in place and a comfy bed.
The premier inn breakfast as normal was good.
Car parking was secure and within a few minutes of Bike park wales
- masterreece (8/5): A quiet corner of Merthyr - Although the bathroom was showing some wear and tear the rest of the room was ok. The lack of glasses in the bathroom and the few tea/coffee sachets seem to indicate they are trying to save pennies.
Nothing but praise for all the staff. Helpful, friendly and generally nice people.
- Daydream22826175996 (6/5): Very average - Bed comfy. Property is over 2 buildings - hotel and bar/restaurant. Bar closed at 10pm on night 1 and 9pm on 2nd night. 9pm for residents too!! Hotel was clean and obviously had a recent refurb but let down by water damaged skirts in the bathroom and blackout curtains that don’t fit so a waste of time. Bar/restaurant was old and tired with poor customer service. Not one smile! Ridiculous bar timings even for residents
- P2550KDamandap (10/5): Great location - Welcoming & friendly staff. Simple check in & out. Bed was comfy the only thing id say is the pillows werent so great. Fantastic location for hiking Pen Y Fan. Only 20 minutes from Pont ar daf National Trust car park. A pub/restaurant just across the car park & plenty of places to eat nearby. There is also a Co-Op within walking distance
- christD843GZ (8/5): It’s not bad. - Overall the hotel is ok. Food is ok for basic pub grub and breakfast is better than other Premier inn’s. Bed is comfortable and the whole place was clean. Only downside is it’s a bit tatty and makes it look a little rundown. Oh and the hotel is so warm would definitely benefit from aircon.
- DaveWorkRail (6/5): Average premier inn stay - Stayed 1 night in March 25
Good - check in straight forward, room was generally clean if a little dark, good size tv in room
Bad - linked restaurant in need of refurbishment, hotel not the easiest to drive into as entrance road is just prior to roundabout , standard of room ok nothing special
- jamiefJ4255GW (10/5): Great hotel - We stayed here for the weekend visiting some friends
room was spotless when we arrived also cleaned daily if requested, staff were very polite & helpful. Will definitely be staying again
Also a lovely outdoor area opposite at the restaurant which we enjoyed
- T3921AWstephanieh (2/5): Dirty bathroom so disappointing shocking - So disappointed, checked in after work here for 1 night ( funeral next day ) .
Only realised gorgeous bad / dirty bathroom was after going to eat in the local pub as had not been in there prior. Then saw how dirty the actual bathroom was, this including the door , bath , ceiling . Please see all attached pictures
- Jude363 (10/5): Restaurant - The meal was lovely but the best part was the superb service. The lady behind the bar and the two servers were so pleasant and helpful, it was such a nice place to be. We are here under difficult circumstances and you have made things that bit easier. Thank you.
- Rebecca1987b (2/5): Beware check your invoice! - Stayed at this hotel for a business trip at the start of October. Rooms were very much your standard Premier Inn room so no complaints there. However make sure to check your invoice before you leave.
At check in I was incorrectly told I had not selected breakfast as part of my booking and would need to pay again. I was also told I would be unable to get an invoice for my booking or receipt for my additional payment until check out. Bit odd but okay.
Checked out two days later and the same woman was working reception (I won’t mention any names but this individual needs additional training). I had to ask for the invoice and on inspection I learnt not only did my original booking contain breakfast each morning BUT a second breakfast had been added and charged for each day. When this was questioned I was told I couldn’t have a refund and I would need to wait for a manager to process it later that day. I was told I would receive no further communication from the Premier Inn and just needed to trust I would get the refund… when asked why I was misinformed at checkin I was told ‘it’s a new system.’ Unacceptable, a colleague of mine was also impacted by the same individual giving the same mis-information.
- Daydream25833484863 (8/5): Problem resolved without fuss - Our room wasn't in great condition which can sometimes be the case in large hotels. The manager offered a different room and was quick to get that sorted for us.
Very happy with how the issue was handled. Staff at various times of the day were all engaging and friendly.
Shower and bed were great.
Also worth noting, you can bring your bike into the room for safe keeping.
- KateEL1974 (8/5): Warm welcome and a comfortable bed - From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome, the lady who greeted me checked me in with a smile. My room was clean, comfortable and stylish (I'm used to Travelodge which I do love but I'm a fan of purple). The bed was super comfortable but rather higher than I'm used to which wasn't a problem for me, but someone shorter might struggle.
I ate in the on site restaurant and had the most delicious salt and pepper calamari for a starter that I've ever had, the staff there were friendly and I felt comfortable there as a lone diner. My main of a salad with grilled chicken was nice, although I didn't like the fact the salad vegetables were cut up into tiny pieces as it made it difficult to eat. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was yummy.
I slept well and had a lovely warm shower in the morning using the supplied shower gel which was a refreshing scent. I was then ready to continue my journey and sent on my way with a smile by the lovely lady who had checked me in (she assured me she hadn't been sat there all night).
Would I book a Premiere Inn again? From this experience it's a yes from me.
One thing I would say is the image on the website is of the restaurant building and not the accommodation which is a little misleading
- davidwQ5739FD (10/5): Perfect mountain bikers rest - A welcomed place to rest and refresh after a day mountain biking.
They even let you keep your bikes in the rooms so you don't need to worry about security.
- squatting-neville (10/5): Great stay for Bike Park Wales - Friendly staff. Clean room, comfy bed. Minutes from the bike park. Can take your (clean) bikes into the hotel room.
Breakfast was tasty but service was a little slow.
