Guest Reviews
- Paradise23328975607 (10/5): All good - My first time in this hotel but everything as good as ever with Premier Inn: free parking, friendly staff, decent room, great breakfast, excellent value. Chatted with the manager (didn’t get his name) who is doing a top job - thanks very much
- lisamQ1540GT (10/5): Lovely stay - Great hotel to stay at location was good right in middle of the area. Rooms were clean and tidy would definitely come back and stay it was ok in price aswell. Stay was welcoming and friendly
- Ailleyxglenx (10/5): good value for money - stayed here on our travels as we always use premier inn, its the best value for money. the rooms in here are fab newish and extremely clean. the check in staff were great and great with the kids. beefeater for breakfast was great .
- michaelo86 (6/5): Read all review sites - Not good, you really need to also read Trustpilot reviews of this hotel chain.
Shabby decor, tiny room with an EXTRA BED, and no space therefore for a chair, why?
Old rooms, not matching website images, assuming Premier Plus company preferred choice you make, I have use one before barely worth the extra, still only 1 armchair but extra “ useless” items.
- 790tomk (10/5): The perfect “ reception “ - Travelled 315 miles as part of a working delivery to the docks. The company booked me in to here for ease of convenience and
closeness.
The first person I met with was Amanda - so polite, so friendly and a big smile as an added bonus. Exactly what you want to see after a long days driving.
I wish there were more like her.
Thank you Amanda for everything.
- Pioneer23732851167 (10/5): Great stay at Harwich premier - Great and warm welcoming lady at the reception . Amanda made me feel very quickly welcome and sorted the check in steps very professionally. Room and bed good as always
- Ericmyint (10/5): 5 stars service - Great value and wonderful staff!”
Premier Inn offers great comfort for the price. The rooms were modern and cozy, and everything worked perfectly. Big thanks to Amanda, who made check-in easy and was extremely polite and professional throughout my stay. She truly made the visit feel special.
- sarahkoleszarsk (8/5): Lovely stay, however check in could have been better - Hotel lovely, rooms clean and cosy, check in wasn’t great, we arrived after 3pm as requested. To be told our room wasn’t ready & was told to wait and they would come & get us, which they didn’t, and they were checking other guests in, we were sat waiting over 1/2 hour so I went up & asked was it ready yet, which they said it was no apology or explanation as to why they hadn’t come to get us. breakfast good but fried eggs were over cooked, rubbery. Evening meal was gorgeous
- G2092QUjeffw (10/5): Quite room especially with working night shift - Great staff good location. Manager Amanda very helpful and pleasant. Food in restaurant well priced and good staff in restaurants also very accommodating
- OnAir32367201705 (10/5): Great experience - Amanda is a very positive and helpful person, best regards for her, I also enjoyed food and drink which is in fair price. Recommend this place
- Mikeyfrancis (10/5): Great stay - Amanda was very helpful, she helped out with extending our stay and she did it all with a smile, lovely lady, would highly recommend staying here, the beds are unbelievably comfy!
- W4955MLandrewp (10/5): Trip to Harwich - Helpful friendly and accommodating staff.
Would definitely go there again.
Rooms clean and spacious
Extremely good value for money
- jhmv2025 (10/5): Were met at the the reception with a friendly smile - Overall very pleasant experience.
amazing staff and employees.
good rooms, suitable for long stay workers.
good location.
- Stay698710 (10/5): Amanda & sue on reception were excellent, thank you - Arrived at hotel little bit early 2.50pm , in most cases would have to wait until 3, we were greeted by 2 lovely ladies , Amanda & Sue , who checked us in straight away , they were great liked a little bit of banter , we were alll done in 5 minutes and in our room to relax after a hard days work , thanks , Amanda & sue excellent service, cheers Robbie from lakeside flood soulutions
- C4279XQgeorgey (10/5): Top staff very helpful - Sue, Amanda and Lucy was fantastic we checked out then our work over ran so we had to check back in later in the day. After making the booking online a quick call to the hotel and they didn’t hesitate to put us back in the same rooms and couldn’t be more accommodating
- Explorer41550611199 (10/5): A Very Comfortable Stay in Harrogate - The hotel was a little way out of Harrogate but I chose this Premier Inn so I could have safe parking. Due to time issues we didn't walk into town but Uber taxis were easy to book and cheap enough. The staff were really friendly and helpful and seemed happy doing their job which made us feel very welcome. The room was very clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We did have a noise issue during the night but the problem was solved the next day.
- Z7372IVthomasz (10/5): Good hotel. - Arrived at the hotel and been welcomed friendly by Amanda. Explanation was clear and friendly.
The room is nice and clean. The location is perfect for a night stay if you need to go to the boat to Hoek van Holland in the early morning.
There is a nice restaurant next to it with good food.
Around the facility there are some grocerie stores and other food restaurants.
- N7952RCyvonneb (10/5): Wonderful stay - Recently stayed at this premier inn close to the port, clean and tidy and comfortable rooms, Amanda on reception was so pleasant and knowledgable and made my stay more enjoyable and she gave me some lovely biscuits as a treat.
- Lucie02 (4/5): Premier Plus room - tired and lacking - We have stayed in many Premier Inns and this was the worst quality for a long time. We had booked Premier Plus for some ‘additional comforts but we’re disappointed.
The hotel was very quiet so no excuses about the room which was allocated.
The room has not been maintained well. The side lamp next to the bed was missing on one side. The toilet roll holder was loose.
The complimentary chocolates had not been left.
The additional pillows - the bag was not sealed (as normal in other Premier Inns) and when we opened it one of the pillows did not have a pillowcase on it
One of the bath towels had two big holes in it.
The worst was that we were kept awake during the night by a constant high pitched noise from the fan, which did not turn off as would normally be the case once the light was switched off.
On leaving the hotel there was no-one around to report these issues to.
This Premier Plus room was not worth the money and needs some immediate attention.
- 601janeta (10/5): Really helpful team effort - Long story, but because of travel delays, we (my husband & me) arrived, hungry and thirsty, for our 8pm restaurant booking some time after 9pm.
Bar staff Asha and Anushtina were the first to help. Asha checked with kitchen while Anushtina sorted out our drinks and listened to our travel woes.
The kitchen had closed for the evening, but when Asha explained our situation, Chef Hannah made us a meal that was just right, with no fuss about it at all.
We were impressed by their friendly but professional manner and efficient approach.
A real team effort. Thanks Team!!
- X8891EMvaleriea (6/5): Disappointed - Warm welcome.
Room was poor considering it was a premier plus room. Felt it hadn't been properly cleaned.
Short staff in restaurant so service was slow and meals pretty basic. However staff did their best and were very pleasant under the circumstances
- 656philg (4/5): Think carefully before booking - We have stayed many times but this time was not good. The adjoining pub restaurant has closed for conversion to rooms. Replaced with a small soulless room in side the hotel. So there is now nowhere to chill and have a drink or coffee on arrival. Key items were missing from breakfast over the whole 3 day stay. We asked for refunds of the cost of breakfast. There were not enough staff and no visible managers monitoring the situation. It has lost it's vibrancy and identity due to the pub restaurant closure which used to compensate for the out of town location. We will almost certainly look elsewhere after many years of using this Premier Inn as a result.
- dionneh766 (4/5): Mucky visit - Been a house keeper myself i do check Mucky widows , spider webs on ceiling always strip beds to help out there was mucky mattress proctors. Never again
- rosiepR4266IZ (10/5): Nice hotel - Very nice and professional staff, helped me find a local restaurant to visit and was also friendly no matter the time. The manager was brilliant and helped me out with the doors as I had too many bags, I believe her name was Manda. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Would highly recommend
- Y3219TEjohnt (10/5): Would Recommend - I recently stayed at Harwich Premier Inn, the staff were very friendly especially the manger Manda who helped us get checked in and sorted out. Cozy sleep and very quiet. Would recommend
- 21lucyc21 (10/5): Great stopover hotel - Great hotel in perect location for a stopover to break my journey.
The warmest welcome by 2 lovely ladies on the reception Joanne & Denise. These two ladies are a pleasure and were so friendly, as a solo traveller i was a bit anxious but they are so friendly and helpful.
Room was spotless and bed really comfortable.
Great nights sleep and lovely breakfast in the morning.
Keep up the good work ladies.
I'l be back soon.
- 259zanec (4/5): Not recommended at all - First impressions were good from the outside. Great free parking facilities which is why we chose this location. The minute we walked into the hotel the musky smell hit us.
The guy at reception was on his mobile phone but hung up to check us in after about a minute. He was very pleasant and helpful when checking us in.
When we walked into our room (115) that horrible smell hit us again. It was like a sour/damp smell. The dust was thick on the skirting boards and there was black mould around the tiles and the bath.
I wouldn't rush back to this hotel...
- Jemmabeckham (4/5): WiFi rubbish and doesn’t support all streaming apps. Customer service poor and shower dreadful. - We’ve stayed here a few times before getting the ferry and it’s always been ok.
This time the WiFi was extremely slow so we paid the £5 for the fast WiFi which was even worse.
Our daughter is autistic and non verbal and she has a night time ritual that involves watching Paramount before bed. Due to not wifi she was unable to.
My husband went down several times and explained it wasn’t working for Paramount and we wanted a refund. The member of staff said it wasn’t her department. It’s ridiculous that they can take your money but can’t refund!!
Also the shower was so slow and had no force. It was a light trickle!
For £108 for one night this is extremely poor.
- johnrS1390ER (2/5): A disaster - sorry to say, we have been at this hotel several times before, but this time it was a disaster. terrible sleep, small double bed, lumpy topper, not very clean through out, meals had to be sent back, service terrible.
- dougalt2025 (4/5): Poor - Have stayed here a few times over the years and once again the bathroom was without extract ventilation. Extract in bathroom ran in the evenings but not in the mornings meaning walls and mirror were saturated with condensation following 4 showers and remained so for the majority of the day.
Bedroom AC didn’t operate correctly due to the blocked filter restricting air flow.
All very well smiling and taking a report of a problem but very poor that none of the issues were addressed during our 4 night stay.
Also wasn’t advised at check in that if I wanted my room serviced I needed to specifically ask.
- anniewU951KD (6/5): Disappointing - We have stayed at the Premier Inn, Harrogate South, a total of five times, including this time. We almost didn't book to stay this time, after reading a few recent bad reviews, but for the sake of convenience, thought we would risk it.
We were disappointed on arrival to fine that some of the negative feedback from other guests had not been dealt with. We found the reception area rather uninviting, with rubbish lying on the floor. One of our rooms was made up as a double instead of a twin. There was also only one set of towels in this room. And the heating unit in the double room was not working.
We immediately talked to the staff member on duty (Anhar), who initially, whilst very apologetic, blamed it on the staff on the previous shift. I explained to him that I was not interested in where any blame lay. In our opinion, Premier Inn as a whole should take responsibility to provide guests with exceptional service. Anhar took this on board and was extremely responsive in sorting out the issues that we had.
- E2249IQjoycer (8/5): York races - Pros:-
We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions in the past and have always been satisfied. We use it has a base when going to York races.
Hornbeam Park is situated next to the railway station and trains are approx. every half hour to York or Leeds. £4.90 for 2 people return to Harrogate, 2-minute train journey. Far cheaper than taxi.
The rooms were typical PI. At the end of the day all we needed was a clean basic room, with shower and bed.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault any of them.
Plenty of free parking.
We will certainly carry on using this hotel.
Cons:-
Wfii is very slow. Powered iPad okay but struggled with laptop.
The previous large adjoining pub/restaurant is now closed and is being made into rooms. The new "Social" restaurant doesn't seat many, so you have to book. It is about a quarter of the size of the previous restaurant. I don't know why they have done this??!! I can't comment on the menu etc. has we didn't eat in the bar.
- AnishaAlli (6/5): 3 week stay - Hotel is basic however I would have expected basics in the room such a small fridge and bottled water.
I stayed here for a 3 week period , during the first week my duvet was dirty with stains. No housekeeping unless it’s requested.
However Estelle the receptionist was always very welcoming with a smile which made up for the lack of amenities offered by the hotel
- sukninderb (10/5): Brilliant staff, nice and clean got what we paid for. - The hotel is really clean and staff are really friendly. It’s a shame there isn’t a fridge in the room or air conditioning. I understand that is what we pay for. The staff have always made us feel welcome and got to know us on a personal level. They kept me in the same room for the 3 weeks and that really helped.
I would like to say Estelle really made me feel welcome and looked after my every need. The iron and board both in my room, the heater when I needed it. Towels when I asked absolutely brilliant. Thank you team x
- X2215LZjamieb (4/5): Avoid the bar and restaurant. - Rooms exactly what you expect from a Premier Inn, however, avoid the bar/restaurant at all costs. Restaurant is under-staffed and under-trained. One young waitress trying her best, but zero support, which led to orders being backed up in the kitchen. Waited 30 mins before I got a drink (which I had to go to the bar and ask for again). When the food arrived it was terrible. Driest sirloin steak ever seen, the accompanying sauce which was ordered, didn't arrive and they somehow managed to burn some of the fries. At one point the waitress was so flustered she came and asked if I wanted to pay, but I hadn't even received any food. I then had to repeat the order. The hotel night porter was even trying to support the restaurant. Complete chaos and lack of supervision/professionalism from Premier Inn.
- F2649FJadamm (10/5): Great food, great staff. - Great meal and enjoyed drinks, even when short staffed quality doesn’t suffer. No doubt even better when fully staffed. Will be here again when working in this area.
- T2003QSstephenl (10/5): Wow please read. Joanne & Denise. - JOANNE AND DENISE. WOW. these two went totally above and beyond what was expected. Took my elderly father to the hotel but there was a mix up with the booking (which was my own fault) when I explained the situation these two jumped in to action and sorted the full thing out and even took my dad to his room and explained everything to him. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done and they are a total credit to premier inn. P.S I have been staying in premier inns for over 25 years and I have never witnessed service to that level. Well done to you both.
- L9311YPmarkf (8/5): Very happy with or stay - Very nice hotel comfortable bed and room was clean and tidy very handy for the train station to visit or towns and City's we will stop there again pity the did not do special offers for regular guests staff very polite too . the restaurant needs to be up and running properly by now we are regular guests
- 458caroled (8/5): Satisfactory with warm welcome - After reading the previous reviews we did not have very high expectations of this particular Premier Inn. However, the welcome from the Receptionist was warm and they helped us find a suitable place to go in the evening for a drink as the restaurant on site was closed due to refurbishment. Room was comfortable, parking was fine.
- zelda316 (2/5): AVOID AT ALL COST - As all the other hotels were more or less booked, this was our only option but boy do we regret coming here. Upon check in and then checking out the hotel room, did we discover that our room was on ground floor and had a connecting door. We didn't feel safe and could see that the car park was very quiet and asked the hotel receptionist whether we could move upstairs. We prefer a 1st floor as a minimum for peace of mind but the employee said there were no available rooms upstairs. We questioned that as there was not a single noise upstairs all night in our allocated room. So we were lied to on that. On the connecting door front, we did ask if we could at least move to any other room that didn't have a connecting door - again, simply for peace of mind. The employee's response? "Did you check if it opened? All you need to do is turn the knob, That's how you know if it's open or not". What an absolutely unnecessary and snarky comment to make against what was a simple request. That guy seriously needs re-training. On top of this, the hotel room we were given was incredibly dusty. Extremely stuffy - and because we were allocated to stay on ground floor - we couldn't possibly leave the window open for safety reasons. We were provided with a fan, but all it did was move the hot air around. Had terrible sleep here and I ended up feeling sick and with what felt like a blocked head similar to cold due to the stuffy atmosphere. The towels were flithy as well and only had two without any spares. Hardly any toilet paper. The shower and toilet smelt like mold. It was just nasty. Really can't recommend this to anyone.
The hotel reception in question was working certainly on Friday 26th September after 7pm. You need to send him away for proper training - he's dealt with polite customers in a very snarky and insensitive manner. It was clear we were not the only ones who did not have a problem with this man.
- diporglory (10/5): Comfortable accommodation, great customer service - We have stayed in many Premier Inn locations, from Scotland to the Isle of Wight. Nine last year and around half a dozen this year. We try to book Premier Plus rooms because of the extra comfort and facilities. This one was of the usual comfortable, high standard. A special mention must be given to the excellent customer service provided by David, the chap on reception, who was most helpful
Ten minutes away from Knaresborough, a beautiful town with lot’s of history, with lots of places to eat and drink. We recommend this as a great base from which to explore the surrounding area
- MANGES6999 (6/5): Not the usual Premier Inn experience - Usually use Premier inns with no issues so a tad disappointed with today's experience. Waited a while on arrival for a colleague to book me in. Looked like he was multi tasking so not his fault. Had to pay on my card as he couldn't release my key as they hadn't had payment even though I had an email confirmation that the room had been booked direct from my head office. This meant no tea or breakfast voucher so something else to claim back manually. Restaurant next door looked like it was closing down with loads of signs apologising for beer taps not being available so swerved that one and had a tuna sandwich, yay. Them I thought I would watch the footy on my laptop, forget that, the broadband was less tham 1mb and the premium was only 8mb so not worth the risk. Even the TV had a lag of 20 seconds for the channels to change. Phone signal also hit and miss and that was using Id and EE. The room was ok. Overall, not the usual Premier inn experience I'm used to. 🙄
- MickeyBlue-Newcastle (8/5): Pleasant Room - Usual Premier inn pleasant room. In quiet location. Staff helpful. I booked last minute on a Saturday night and only availability was a premier plus room which wasn’t worth the extra money but very comfortable
- T3887GFscottj (10/5): Always a pleasure. - Amanda, Sue and the team were great as always. Very helpful in my hour of need. Always have a good stay here. They are always willing and available to help any time of the day or night. Lovely atmosphere and clean rooms. Thank you.
- alanmU2620VR (10/5): All the qualities I’ve come to enjoy with a Premier Inn - This Premier Inn had all the qualities I’ve come to enjoy with a Premier Inn. Location, rooms, bed quality, service and value. It also had a Beefeater restaurant that I would recommend and have reviewed separately. Highly recommended.
- anona628 (8/5): Average Hotel Saved by Exception Hotel Reception Manager - Average hotel saved by an exceptional reception manager Amanda. The sometimes awkward booking procedure for groups is often saved by her excellence on the reception. Looked after the guys on the job very well.
- Elizabeth E. (8/5): - Stil te hangt af van waar je kamer is. Hij is schoon.
Attent personeel.
- PamelaB607 (10/5): Good Premier Inn - Nice and clean modern hotel. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Shops nearby if you need anything. If you have a blue badge parking is free.
- tapman (10/5): Very Good - Fabulous hotel. One of the best Premier Inns we have stayed. Very clean, comfortable and quiet room. All staff very helpful and friendly.. ate at the Beefeater restaurant attached. Good food thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were all very helpful in the restaurant.
- sungoddess_26 (8/5): Great time in Hamilton - We had a great stay! We requested and received interconnecting rooms, which was appreciated. The lounge and breakfast on the main level was convenient and great quality. The breakfast was wonderful - lots of choices! I definitely recommend the breakfast package.
There is a small patio out front where you can enjoy a coffee, or drink. Parking is right next door, we could see our car from the room. A great stay and we would return.
- Martha (10/5): Nice hotel. - Clean room, very helpful staff. Overall a very positive experience except that a rat ran across the parking lot from the smokers area into the bushes while we were standing there waiting for a cab to take us to dinner at about 6:30 pm. Kind of made me wonder…..
- L.A.J (8/5): - De ontbijttafels voelden heel plakkerig aan en waren dus wel afgeveegd maar niet schoon
- liambS9509CP (10/5): Great service - Had a lovely quiet week at the premier inn. Great service especially Robina and Nicole in reception, they were very friendly and welcoming
- M7586YQlucys (8/5): Fab staff & great service - Stayed here for one night in August - a really convenient hotel for the motorway and the town itself.
The family room was set up ready for us & everything was clean. Staff were all really happy & helpful.
Dropped a star only because the room was ROASTING and the window was locked closed - the lowest the thermostat would go was 19°C - we were sweltering!
- Coriorda49 (10/5): First Class as always. - Am a regular visitor to Hamilton premier Inn, and I always get a warm welcome and a smile. The reception staff are amazing, in particular Nicole, Robina and Denise. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and they make every stay a pleasure and hassle free. Thank you
- 640wayned (10/5): Top notch - First class start to finish. We parked wrongly ( not stayed before!) Robina and Denise helped us immensely. Very professional and courteous. Lovely clean rooms and the service next door in the beefeater was equally as good. Managed to secure more work in the area and will DEFINITELY be back. Thank you.
- RobLeeDavies (10/5): Great Glasgow option - Fantastic hotel in a brilliant location, close to everything you need. The staff are helpful, friendly, and make you feel welcome. There’s also a great restaurant attached, offering added convenience. The air conditioning works perfectly, and the TV is impressively large. Overall, an excellent hotel and outstanding value for the Glasgow area.
- paddyr919 (10/5): Best hotel by miles - Probably my 10 stay at premier inn -fantastic location, friendly and welcoming staff and clean facilities and room -cannot fault it
Watch out for parking -it’s free until -pm in a Sunday
- WillGD2 (10/5): Great stop over on the way to the west coast - Great stay at Hamilton Premiere Inn. Very comfortable as expected and as always, really excellent breakfast. We will return on our next trip up north.
- coleenb359 (10/5): Fantastic stay - Had a fantastic stay at the Hamilton Premier Inn. All staff were friendly and attentive but Nicole on reception went above and beyond to help me with any questions in a professional and caring manor. Travel regularly for work however this was my first stay in Hamilton and will be back.
- declan30 (6/5): Unfortunate year long stay! - I recently completed an entire year at this hotel, which in all honesty is just your standard Premier Inn. The rating is for the hotel and not the staff. The Staff are 5 stars and let down by the company. Special mention to Robina, Denise and Donya.
Robina – From the very beginning, Robina made sure my stay was smooth and worry-free. Whether it was answering questions, or simply sharing a friendly smile, she truly went above and beyond. Her professionalism combined with her warmth and wit, often dreading me checking in!
Denise – Denise’s kindness and efficiency were a huge part of why I felt so well taken care of. Whether it was a special request or just a quick chat in passing, Denise always made time to make sure everything was ok/normal. Her willingness to help never went unnoticed, I am deeply appreciative of all the little things she did to enhance my stay, which is often or not something every week!
Donya – Lastly, I must thank Donya for her outstanding service and thoughtfulness. She was always there when I needed assistance, with a positive attitude that was both refreshing and reassuring. Donya truly makes often long boring weeks away that bit more bearable with her genuine care and dedication.
Thank you very much for your kindness week after week.
- Kim (4/5): - Veel te duur voor wat je krijgt. Ze zijn wel dicht bij de ferry dat is wel een voordeel.
- stewartr2014 (10/5): Business trip to the Central Belt - Really enjoyed my stay at the Hamilton Premier Inn.
Exceptional assistance and help from Joanne and Nicole.
The girls were brilliant.
Thank you
- Els (6/5): - The room was big enough and clean and the bed was good. However, the temperature was much to high. The mobile fan had no effect(just moving the warmth) en was noisy. I missed the fridge and I would have expected more than a bottle of soap in the bathroom since the price for the room was relatively high.
