- DayTrip31500426756 (10/5): Nice hotel in Dublin - Hotel was really nice we enjoyed our stay in Dublin! English breakfast was the same every day but on a positive note there was an option to order vegan options for free. Staff was helpful especially mrs Maria:)
- X7787AXjuliane (8/5): Friendly staff, comfortable room - We stayed for a few nights in November and aside from the room being very comfortable, the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. I managed to rip a seam in my coat and Amy very kindly found me a needle and thread, enabling me to carry out a running repair and make sure my coat lasted for the duration of our visit. It's small things like that which make such a difference!
- ahmedmJ2624TN (10/5): Truly enjoyed my stay. - Great hotel with friendly staff; breakfast was delicious and beautifully prepared ,Marion and Chef Abram helped us , the hotel was clean. Truly enjoyed my stay.
- steveiA595XG (10/5): I really enjoyed it - I recently stayed at this hotel, and I had a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially the duty manager on the evening shift, Vanesa. She was very helpful and went above and beyond to assist us.
The hotel itself was great, and everything was top-notch. I also want to highlight the Big Stack Burger I had—it was absolutely delicious! A big thank you to the kitchen team for the wonderful food.
Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely recommend it!

- teresatV4880LB (10/5): Great place to stay! - Lovely clean room, comfy bed and great food! Saving the best for last! The young man that was working evenings (Andrii) what a lovely lovely person he was, he couldn’t do enough for you, very hard working and just generally an all round nice person! Some you would be proud to call your son! More places need someone like Andrii…! Thank you for a lovely stay. We will definitely be back!
- RobBarr (10/5): Great formula - Simple formula of a good place to stay, excellent staff and a great night sleep. Would recommend as a great location for central Dublin and not noisy like some areas
- DrGran (10/5): Much better than expected! - We have stayed here many times over the years. We hadn’t been for a couple of years and read some bad reviews. We arrived to find the pub next door had closed so we approached with caution. We needn’t have worried. All the staff, without exception, were friendly and helpful. They are a credit to the company. The new restaurant is better than the pub. The room was spotless. We will be back.
- bobbywW8632LM (2/5): Don't know what to say - Had to book the room online while I was in the reception using a credit card even though I had cash cash after the booking was made i payed ?
- lian8888 (10/5): Fantastic - We stayed four nights over half term at the Premier Inn Dumbarton with our two-year-old while visiting family in the area, and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were absolutely lovely — every single one of them. From reception to the breakfast and dinner teams and housekeeping, everyone went out of their way to make our stay special.
They were all so kind to our toddler, chatting with him, offering colouring and crayons, and making sure he had something he liked for dinner. One member of staff even offered to upgrade our breakfast booking to include dinner so that we could save some money, which was really thoughtful.
The most touching moment came when they noticed it was our son’s second birthday. When we returned to our room, we found a little bag of birthday treats waiting for him, along with some juice and chocolates for the adults. He was absolutely delighted — such a lovely and personal gesture.
The hotel itself was spotless, the food was good, and everything ran smoothly throughout our stay. I highly recommend this hotel, not just for the excellent facilities and cleanliness, but especially for the wonderful staff who made our visit feel genuinely special.
- Maralee (8/5): - Kitchen staff very surly the evening we arrived about having to cook dinner for us. They tried to refuse service, even though their stated opening hours were for more than an hour after we arrived, and they kept giving us dirty looks through the open kitchen hatch. Front of house was excellent. The issue was the kitchen staff.
- I6801CBjennis (6/5): Food Contamination Concern For Vegetarian/Vegans - Restaurant cramped. (Perhaps use the empty pub next door)
Food contamination concern for vegetarian/vegans.
Yoghurt in the fruit container.
Fried eggs put on the serving plate with tongs used on the bacon.
A customer rightly complained.
No veggie bacon/sausage on display.
Chef did cook some to order.
No TV reception for 2 out of 3 days.
Very poor WiFi (Rubbish per engineer).
Room nice and clean.
Passageways cold.
Need one way system in the car park.
As not clear how to get out.
- Heather421 (10/5): Good hotel - Clean, comfortable hotel, friendly staff, great location for visiting Glasgow and Loch Lomond. 20 minutes from the airport and minutes from Edinburgh.
- J7097FAdebbiew (10/5): Great location and great price - Great stay. Room was lovely and clean and on ground floor as requested. Ali (Alistair) on reception/social restaurant was really helpful and cheery and gave us some local guidance too. Not my first visit here and will definitely be back.
- M8081LOguyw (4/5): Needs to get back to previous standards. - I have stayed at this hotel several times and always found it excellent, but on this visit I found that the hotel had gone down in quality.
My main bugbear is that it seems to be seriously understaffed especially in the new restaurant which was a massive disappointment.
The service was extremely slow and I had to wait literally an hour before I got my food.
A few things were missing from the menu and the quality of the food was average at best with small portions and lack of condiments on the tables.
I had to ask for vinegar for my fish and chips and it took five minutes to get it from the servers.
If asked for mushy peas and got normal peas and the food was starting to cool when I received it.
These can seem minor things but they create a bad experience.
The redeeming factor was that the breakfast was good.
The room was good but not as clean as on previous visits.
I may give it another chance next year as it is very convenient for me when I travel in Scotland, but standards need to improve for the prices they are charging.
- markwK9843CZ (4/5): No TV or WiFi - No TV and no WiFi. Or no WiFi capable of video. Can't recommend. Very remote location for alternative entertainment. Food ok though.
- robj696 (10/5): Highly recommended - I regularly stay in this hotel while working. It’s comfortable and clean, very handy for Loch Lomond and the area. The new restaurant is really nice with a decent menu. The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful, they can’t do enough to make sure your stay is as stress free and relaxed as possible. Great bed, good bathroom and TV and endless tea and coffee.
- Dawn (6/5): - Could not control the room temperature and the windows did not open. We asked the staff to lower the temperature, but they never did. Unable to sleep.
- Kit846 (8/5): Fantastic hotel - First to say the hotel itself was great, the accessible room was genuinely accessible and the staff were lovely. Only 4* because while the breakfast was great, went to the dining area in the evening together etc an evening meal and no staff acknowledged us for nearly an hour. They were low in staff (only 2 in the front) but there were only 4 tables, so an hour was a bit silly really. Otherwise great will absolutely return.
- donnalynh (2/5): Rubbish - First of all this was our first trip and it will be our last I have scored it one as I can't score it zero we were given our key went to the room I will say the room was clean but the bed was very uncomfortable plus we paid £11.00 each for breakfast the bloke that was serving was so miserable a smile wouldn't have been to much to ask for and he never cooked well the food was cold we asked for fried eggs and he said he will bring some that never came so this is why I give this true review it was so bad
- Robinsong150199 (4/5): Disappointingly Dreadful - So I’m actually writing this as I’m laying in bed on my last night here, so that I don’t forget and it’s the freshest version of my experience. Whilst I understand it’s pretty fluke, the attitude we received can be pretty transferable.
For a bit of context; we had planned to have a weekend near Carrick Castle, before heading up to the Isle of Skye for the rest of the week. This was supposed to be a pitstop and we really didn’t want to miss out on what Glasgow supposedly had to offer. Because of storm Amy, we had to check out of our accommodation as it became quite dangerous and was extremely stressful, so we ended up booking a Premier Inn here and travelling closer to Glasgow, as we have always trusted Premier Inn.
The lady who checked us in was absolutely lovely, and really welcoming. We got into the room with no problems, not an issue, the bathroom was a little bit grotty and the handle bar for the shower popped off when I used it, which showed a lot of dirt and rust. I’ve come to realise after this experience that I actually accept that as the standard of Premier Inn, which I realise now isn’t good.
We were recommended to book a table which we did, and due to the storm we were recommended the earlier the better. This stood true, as when we got into the restaurant it piled up pretty quickly and there was only two members of staff on. There seemed to be an issue with a leak near the coffee machine which occupied one of the staff members for quite awhile and the other one seemed really stressed. I used to manage in hospitality, and I honestly felt so bad for them both, as it was super busy and he seemed really stressed. I am the first person to sympathise with hospitality workers. Food was absolutely fine.
Went to sleep and everything in the room was absolutely sound. The next day we’d been out into Glasgow shopping, and when we got back, there was a younger girl with dark hair at reception and she seemed really nice. A bit later, we went down for dinner again. My partner ordered Caesar salad and I ordered the chilli and tomato pasta with added chicken. I also ordered fries for us to share. We were sat pretty close to the kitchen’s pass too. When the food came, my partners salad was put down first and the two girls working both ran the food, and before mine even hit the table, the girl who took our order immediately said ‘wait there’s no chicken on that, let me get that sorted.’ I’m genuinely the type of person to just accept it, and ask for it to be taken off the bill at the end because I completely get it, but I didn’t even see the meal before she diverted back towards the chef. I’m not sure what was said when she went back to ask for chicken, but I did hear the chef say ‘unbelievable’ which, at the time, I believed was said towards that girl who took our order, as it’s pretty clear to me it was missed off when she put the order through.
The chef on the pass then proceeded to really loudly continue to say ‘unbelievable’ several times, moan really loudly, saying things like ‘oh I can’t even use that now either’ at the pasta sat on the pass. I was absolutely fine until one of the girls working went and asked how the chicken was coming on, and he proceeded to moan ‘unbelievable’ several times more saying ‘well it’s blown up in their face because now they’ve had to wait ages for it.’ That’s when it clicked with me that I think the girl taking our order told the chef that I had only just asked to order the chicken as our food was brought to the table. I am 100% certain that the chef believed it was my fault. I’m not an anxious girly at all, but the chef was talking so loudly; so clearly knowing I was in ear shot and could hear everything he was saying. I’m 26 and I don’t leave home much, I’m not from Scotland, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I felt so uncomfortable to the pit of my stomach that my appetite completely vanished. My boyfriend went and asked the same girl if we could take our meal to the room to eat because we both just felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome, despite having done absolutely nothing wrong. I would never ever ever dare to let a chef cook me a meal and only then ask to add meat to it once it was served to me. I’ve known the trade 10 years of my life, I’ve seen it all and worked with every manner of chef. I’ve seen the dark side of back of house and have the utmost respect for the trade. I was so upset and frustrated that not only was the chef purposely making me feel uncomfortable but the girl that seemed so lovely had also lied, to essentially save her own back. Again, I understand how hard hospitality can be, but this is not morally acceptable. When my partner asked her about it, she said she would take the chicken off but then ended up taking the whole meal off, which shows me even more that the added chicken was not put on the order in the first place.
I cried quite a lot when we got back to the room and I didn’t eat my dinner, as I just felt so shocked and frustrated. I am so far from home, in a place I believed I could trust in. We went out for dinner at a nearby Italian which was lovely. But no hotel should make their guests feel like this.
Whilst you can expect the standard Premier Inn experience in terms of the room (whatever that means to you), if you want a quick easy hotel and dinner experience, I would not recommend this at all. I don’t trust in the staff here whatsoever. I feel incredibly uncomfortable and I cannot wait to leave. I don’t think I will ever be staying in Premier Inn ever again and my opinion on it is completely changed. I’d always really trusted in Premier Inn, but this one has changed everything for me.
- johndZ6736MQ (10/5): Good value and comfortable stay - We stopped over for one night and were very impressed with the service and comfort of the room. Bed was very comfortable and the cost was excellent value.
- John (8/5): - Very good serviceable property. Clean, convenient breakfast area, easy to get around the area. Good value for the money.
- browner1989 (10/5): Business stay - My first time to Scotland and the team are are very friendly. Alistair in the restaurant offered second to none service with a smile. Really pleased I came here. Well done guys.
- dannyr651 (2/5): Gets worse every year - I have been coming here for 9 years for work and it’s gone so downhill, it’ll be my last.
The pub has closed down. The WiFi (yes Ultimate) is slower than dial up for 20 years ago.
Just feels like it’s run down.
- Lena Andrea (8/5): - Good location, good breakfast, soy milk available.
- E6608CKtraceyr (2/5): Would not recommend with current staff and building in need of updating. - I would advise if you have to report any issues at this Premier Inn to take a phone with you and record the conversation with reception staff for future reference, because they lie to you about sorting problems and when you complain they lie to their guest relations. I reported 2 issues several times over a 4 night stay and came up against a full denial of any reports being made.
I am fairly certain that the maintenance man is a figment of someone's imagination.
We have stayed here before and had a good stay but it has certainly gone downhill, no USB sockets, very dated electrics. We were looking forward to eating in the pub attached only to find there was a pokey little "school cafeteria" style room that was full and noisy so we went out to eat instead.
On the day we checked out, I handed over our room keys and there was no "Hope you had a nice stay" just a half hearted "bye" as we walked out the door.
As the advert says "Better get a Travelodge."
- sharonlS9489WX (2/5): Makes Fawlty Towers look professional - Well, what can I say. This certainly has to be one of the worse Premier Inn's that I have ever stayed in. The reception staff at check-in, if they are there, are unhelpful and brusque, the breakfast is a disaster and the room 'Tidy up' is hit and miss. Breakfast here is stressful. Always have to ask for things to be filled up, most of what they advertise isn't on show, constantly running out of things, chef and staff with attitude and extremely dirty tables at peak times, only cleaned when required. Asked for an extra hand towel because for some reason a twin bedded room comes with two bath towels and one hand towel. Can't understand the logic for that. Asked for an extra one for the following day, told it wouldn't be a problem but it never did show up. I gave up in the end. Stayed here about 6 yrs ago, and it was a really nice and well run place, so much so came back. Each subsequent year it has deteriorated. Definitely won't be going back....ever. Premier Inn used to be a good go to budget hotel. Now they are extremely pricey in terms of what they provide. Will now go to the Holiday Inn, better service, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast!
- GarethD482 (8/5): Usual good stay as expected with premier Inn. - The usual Premier Inn review. Nice room, cool, reasonably clean. Nice and quiet.
What was off putting was the next door eatery normally associated with the Premier Inn was closed. Leaving us with a sense of not being able to eat. This venue had converted part of the downstairs into a little cantine/mini bar. Odd, efficient, but lacked space to sit back in a comfortable bar environment and unwind. We had to eat and vacate. Food was average for the price.
- Voyage36090693466 (10/5): Fabulous staff - Absolutely fantastic staff, we traveled for a skate competition and the staff were so lovely and really made our trip even more enjoyable. Fantastic place! Fantastic staff
- Shengxiu (10/5): 舒适 - 酒店环境优雅,床很舒适。
- Jenna (6/5): - The breakfast times were not convenient, and the lobby is not great if you are with a group that would like to hang out. They often had any lobby area closed. The room was clean, but very bare. Depending on what activities you are looking for, the location was convenient. Great if you are headed to the Braehead arena.
- Calvin (10/5): - Easy and clean. I recommend
