Guest Reviews
- jennypearceUK (8/5): Staff a fantastic - An overnight stay with friends to visit Christmas Markets in Birmingham. Great location and the staff were amazing. We booked into a Premium room which was very nice but lacked some of the extras but this was rectified but sadly no sweet treat as head office hadn’t supplied them!
- paultK5807ZT (10/5): A Warm Welcome - Christine was amazing, a warm welcome and checked in quickly.
She was able to let me check in slightly earlier than I thought, which was great.
- irenemZ6583GX (10/5): Praise and thanks to Lisa, Duty Manager - Rooms and location are ideal. Lisa, the Duty Manager is so welcoming and friendly. She goes above and beyond in her role in helping people.
- F3034EUmaggiep (10/5): Excellent value for money. - Excellent customer service. All staff and especially Lisa on reception were welcoming and very attentive. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.
- Q5054AWpaulm (4/5): Gone downhill. - Great location, but that's where it ends. Bad smell in the room and worse in bathroom. We reported this but no better. Shower was on full heat with temperature lever solid so could not lower temperature. We reported it, then the on/off lever was so loose we didn't risk it falling off, so washed in sink the best we could. The bed was rock hard and uncomfortable. We've been here many times, but now they charge for parking. Whereas previously it was in with the price. Unless you want a full English, it is expensive at Brewers Fayre for just cereal. This Premier Inn needs a refit, so the room doesn't smell. Our friends found a used pot of cereal just under their bed. We only gave it a 2 star because on previous visits all was superb. Otherwise it would have been a 1 star. We didn't get a good night sleep.
- I3147 (10/5): Perfect ‘Angel’ when I needed one. Thank you. - Thanks Nemo for being so welcoming and helpful to me after the last train to Exeter had left Birmingham New St , leaving me without anywhere to stay.
You’re a real star. The Room was spotless and very comfortable. Perfect for me as a weary traveller. Ps I love your name too. 😊
- 267keiral (10/5): Excellent, can't go wrong. - Excellent location, right outside the train station. The staff were so friendly, kind and helpful. Despite it's location in the heart of the city, there was minimal noise and the hotel was very clean. We had a twin room and the bed was squeaky but the facilities were great. We have already said that we'd definitely stay here again and plan to return next year.
- 585nellyw (10/5): Fantastic stay with super lovely and accommodating staff 🤍 - After having a very stressful day, we arrived late at night and were quickly checked in and accommodated by both Becca and Rasool. Thank you both so much for all of your help, we really appreciate it!! Lovely and clean rooms, with a great value breakfast
- macstress (6/5): Good comfortable room but a more cheery welcome would not have gone amiss. - Room was very clean, quiet and comfy. Bed especially comfy and good shower. Lighting also very good and easy temperature control. The hotel entrance is fairly unremarkable bordering on dingy. But the lift takes you to reception and you soon forget about the ouside as it is pleasant enough. Check in was totally devoid of any cheer or interaction, no pleasantries to make you feel welcome. Check out similar, not even a hope you have a good journey or a goodbye.
- blondie-S-yorks (8/5): Great experience at Birmingham Premier Inn. - Great location, 2min walk from New Sreet station. Close to Bullring for shopping & walking distance to Xmas Market & Cathedral Market.
Hotel has 7 floors, make sure you ask for 2 keys if 2 of you sharing as a key card is needed to use lift to your floor & also via the stairs to unlock door to your floor. The key is also to provide the electricity to your room, hence the need for 2 keys.
Bed was comfortable but for the soft pillows these were not of great quality. Lumpy in parts & did not pass the pillow test.
The breakfast on offer was excellent. Full English with a choice of stuff. Cereal was on offer.
Check in was at 3pm via 2 machines at reception, there was someone on hand to help out if need be.
Overall the hotel was good & central to everything.
- robinfB865QQ (10/5): Be good to Chrisitine at Reception! - I was able to check in early which meant a great deal on a busy work day with an armful of bags. Christine was wee star, she went out of her way to be helpful.
- adesolag2022 (10/5): Lovely experience at Premier inn New station street Birmingham - Best location, when neat and quiet hotel despite being at the New station street. A lot of shops and restaurant around the hotel which makes it to be a very good location for anyone.
Room is very neat, clean, and spacious
No noise at all
Good services were rendered by the hotel staff.
I enjoyed the breakfast
- Pioneer35846859302 (10/5): Lisa fantastic, freshly cooked breakfast - Premier Inn room and bed was as reliably good as ever.
Two things made this location stand out.
Firstly rather than a buffet style cooked breakfast our order was taken (we could order as much as we wanted) and it arrived freshly cooked and hot - yummy!
Secondly Lisa was fantastically helpful. We required unusual assistance and Lisa provided the perfect solutions all with a friendly, smiling face. Thank you so much!
- 218MikeA (4/5): Dirty, smelly and not what I'd expect from a Premier Inn - This stay at the Bicester Premier Inn was a disappointing experience. The staff were friendly as always but Room 16 on the ground floor was both dirty and smelly
There was hair in and around the bath taps and plug, the sofa bed and chair from the desk both had stains on them and there were multiple dust webs hanging down from the ceiling in the main part of the room.
The room was also smelly from poor drainage, we put the plug in the bath and closed the sink plug to reduce the smell but it wasn't a great experience. We only needed the room to sleep in so there was little point complaining when we got into the room on the Saturday night but we left didn't dare use the shower/bath at all due to the smell and state of the bathroom.
- DianeM54 (10/5): Highly Recommended for a stopover in Birmingham city centre. - A calm and friendly haven and a really good place for a city centre visit. Staff were very welcoming and polite. Nice clean and comfortable room and good wifi. The bar was a relaxing place for a drink.
- Vickycup88 (10/5): Great place - Christine was amazing!!
Great check in and warm welcome
Room was comfortable and great location for the centre of town and station. Would 100% recommend to anyone
Didn’t have breakfast as I left so early for train home
Easy self check out…..
- Clare12345 (10/5): Fabulous - Excellent clean accommodation with friendly & helpful staff. Special thanks to Becky, Cameron & housekeeping for their kind help in returning my kindle which I had left behind. Exceptional customer service - thank you. A very comfortable stay at this premier inn.
- 84Kevin19 (6/5): Convenient location, but one night was enough. - A functional hotel, very convenient location, a bit overpriced, and the hotel entrance can be horrific at times due to the amount of homeless hanging around and also the level of antisocial behaviour that you see as you are making your way to the entrance lifts at night. Our plus room with a view was very nice (not sure it was worth the extra money) but there was a horrible smell coming from the sink in the bathroom, we couldn’t spend more than five minutes in there without feeling sick, in the end I closer the plug in the sink and filled it with water, and that helped a lot. Breakfast was average, but the staff were great, very welcoming and always happy to help.
- Aroundincircles100 (6/5): In Need of Refurbishment - Excellent location, only a stone's throw from the Bicester Village car park. The hotel is basic and is in need of refurbishment e.g. its an over the bath shower with a curtain screen (not ideal if you have mobility issues), the grout was stained & the silicone was black in some areas, the pillows were hard. I've stayed in better Premier Inn's for less money but suspect this one is getting away with it due to it's location. Breakfast, if required, is served at the adjacent Brewers Fayre and was good but make sure you pre book as people who hadn't were being turned away.
- I8746DGrebeccab (2/5): Syed made the stay a nightmare - Came to this hotel as we had broken down and the RAC could not fix in time for us to get home. They were paying for our stay and there was an issue with payment on the Premier Inn booking system.
Syed was incredibly rude and unhelpful. We had the RAC speak to him to try and resolve it and he wouldn’t. They asked him to check for an email so they could send payment details directly and he put right said no. He shouted at us in front of other guests.
Other guests were complaining about him too.
Callum was incredibly helpful and helped us solve the issue. I felt bad for him as he was running around trying to pick up the slack Syed was causing by refusing to help people at all.
The room was hot and stuffy and the air con barely worked.
- TammyTiger83 (6/5): Great location for shops, Average stay otherwise - BE ADVISED you need to go up to floor 0 to sign in, there is no signage explaining this. We signed in via the computer screen and made our way to our family room only to find that the couch had not been made up and when I went to question this I was told that the room was actually a single occupancy room and we were quickly offered an alternative 2 floors down which was fine but the television remote was held together with tape and very temperamental which was very irritating. Breakfast was tasty, toaster takes forever to brown the bread, greeted pleasantly by staff member who showed us to our seats.
- HannahLB (8/5): VFM for an overnight stay in the area - This was a good quality premier inn. Everything felt new, clean and immaculate.
The shower was fantastic- very powerful and hot. The bed was very comfy.
There is a brewers restaurant next door which was quick and cheap before we headed out for an evening wedding. It’s also on a retail park and opposite Tesco.
You do have to pay for parking - £4.50 for 24 hours.
This was excellent value for money.
- davidhB7837EC (10/5): Another great stay in Birmingham - Just spent two nights in this premier inn in Great Barr , Birmingham ( 3rd stay in 2 years ) and as previous visits we have had a brilliant time. The staff cannot do enough for you and Lisa on reception looked after us like we had known her forever, despite being very busy herself every time we approached her for help or advice 😊 The rooms are spotless and breakfast beautiful cooked and filled you up for the day ( so much choice and value for money). Really helps to make your stay memorable. We are going back in January and can't wait to be honest
- scottmills (10/5): Helpful staff - Stayed here whilst visiting family the staff were really friendly and helped with the kids there was a lady in breakfast that was very helpful and also Lisa was really friendly :)
- emmagH6252UL (2/5): As a company Premier Inn obviously do not give a damn about guests - Stayed at this premier inn on the 4th October. The staff were lovely, but as a business I am disgusted by the lack of care and customer service they have show. I have complained about the "accomadation" (ie railways station entryway) that guests were left in for numerous hours after the fire due to its unsuitability and lack of seating, but they seem to think this was acceptable and basically tough s-*t that it has caused my chronic pain condition to flare up. .
- 918angelak (10/5): Another excellent stay ! - Another great overnight stay here to see a show , the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, shout out to Nemo on reception who sorted out a small problem with our room on arrival 😊 Delicious breakfast 😋
- kimmH6532YB (8/5): Syed was a total star and a great advert for a warm welcome at Premier Inns. - We chose a Premier Inn for an unplanned stop on a long journey. We picked this company because we have stayed at other Premier Inns and knew what to expect. We have found them to be reliably consistent. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the room was good, wifi is useful, shower was perfect - especially loved the plant based toiletries- and, as promised, we had a good night's sleep.
Whenever we have stayed at a Premier Inn where breakfast is provided on the premises, it has always been lovely and the hot food has been hot. Sadly, at Bicester, breakfast is provided next door at The Brewers Fayre, where the waiting staff were surly and unhelpful, the cooked items were all cold and it was a disappointment.
The absolutely best part of our stay was when we arrived: Syed on reception could not have been more helpful and kind. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure that we could get a room at the best price by booking on line, rather than at the desk. I was really exhausted and overwhelmed and he quickly worked out that I was finding booking via my mobile phone too stressful. He helped me log onto their wifi and assisted me with every step of the process, even actually doing it for me, when I was being particularly inept. He even sorted ou the car parking cost for us. He saved us £15. I'm grateful for that, but even more appreiative of Syed's kindness and care. I really couldn't thanked him enough.
- ashleysW6782PZ (10/5): Visit to Birmingham - Had a great time staying here , great location and clean , perfect for the Christmas market , staff are super friendly , thanks
- leahcliffey (10/5): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another Lovely Stay! - We had yet another lovely stay at the Premier Inn. I regularly stay here when I travel down to see my partner, and this is by far the best Premier Inn I’ve stayed at. It’s a smaller hotel, which makes it so peaceful, always spotless, and the beds are extremely comfortable.
One of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is the amazing hospitality from Lisa. She’s so friendly and welcoming, and always goes out of her way to make our stay special each time — even managing to squeeze us in for breakfast after we were a few minutes late down!
Thank you again for another great stay, we’ll definitely be back! ☺️
- tonygO9631MJ (2/5): Room smelly and dirty needs major refurbishments - Room was smelly, dirty the bed was uncomfortable and sounded broken. The bathroom had mould and practically brown ceiling from damp shower was a dribble shower curtain was stained.
Room was hot and no working aircon
Overall in brief very tired workout room in need of major renovations
- 835halimak (8/5): Overall comfortable stay - Very comfortable bed, clean and tidy, had plenty of towels. Room was little cold but soon heated up with the heaters available, good Tv channels
Parking was good ample space and location is neatly tucked away from main road. Good customer service at the front desk.
Kettle didn’t work so couldn’t have hot drinks, bathroom was tidy but toilet wasn’t cleaned properly as there was stains on it.
- Holtweety (2/5): Bad customer service in emergencies - Hotel seemed ok when we arrived. But there was a fire in the night and chaos ensued. We were left outside for about an hour and a half. I needed medical care but in the end had to chase this up. There were 2-3 other Premier Inns in the area but we weren’t offered to move to one until 4 1/2 hours after we were evacuated. The hotel wasn’t ventilated to get rid of the smoke for days after the fire. They also don’t refund on the good night sleep policy for fire, but ignore the statutory rights! The customer service was lacking for this experience more than just the hotel being a problem.
- franka413 (10/5): Highly recommended - Perfect location with easy access of the M40. Hotel and room very clean and tidy. Easy check in and staff very helpful. We had both breakfast and evening meal at Brewers Fayre which is on site. Amazing value and great food.
- katye949 (2/5): Worse stay ever - Started off with smell of smoke constantly and put in wrong room to begin with then when we order food or drinks it takes them at least half hour even just a drink at bar takes ages and the when we had dinner it’s came but was horrible and no where to contact via email and there’s only one women who was lovely with great manners but the rest were rude and not helpful And looked miserable constantly and one of them was the manager never coming back again
- 197shaziar (10/5): Lovely greeting! - From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Lisa who was an absolute delight. She was very friendly, helpful and on leaving this morning she was just as lovely as she was on arrival.
The room was clean, had all the facilities we needed and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Overall a lovely stay and we will definitely be booking again.
- sians864 (10/5): Great service - Fab stay. When we arrived, Lisa at the front desk was full of smiles, chat made us laugh after a long drive from Scotland - thank you so much!
- shannoni290 (6/5): Okay but not outstanding - The good:
The early check in and 12pm check out time.
The location was super central
The view from our room on 2 sides with premium plus with a view
Definitely a step up from a standard premier in room
Appreciate the security outside the venue as it was quite rowdy outside
Appreciate the swipe card to get to your floor for added security
The bad:
For a "plus" room there were just some basic things that could have been better, such as some loose fixtures, patch work to fix things that was super obvious, degrading PU leather on the chairs, the carpet was really badly stained, the water in the shower went through a cycle of 15 seconds fine, 2 seconds freezing, 2 seconds scalding, 15 seconds fine etc etc.
We were also only given one towel for 2 guests so had to ask for another
As expected on a Friday night in the city centre, there was a lot of antisocial behaviour outside the hotel as there's a McDonald's next door. I believe the police were even called as we were leaving.
- lurranea2025 (10/5): Staff and service. - The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much of a problem. I felt like I was amongst friends. The vibe was good with all that I met.
Thank u Premier Great Barr
- P561TTsimong (2/5): Hotel Fire in Birmingham - Sleep ruined due to fire alarm and hotel is blaming other companies nearby for the fire. Spoke to Hotel Guest Relations on Monday morning and they won't return our money as fire was not part of the hotel. We woke up at 02:30 and was allowed back in about 06:00 to collect belongings and leave.
- usa141970 (10/5): Fire evacuation - Well what can I say the night staff Sue and James wow how professional they both are. We had to be evacuated due to a fire. Sue and James got the hotel evacuated so quickly and made sure we were all safe. Sue and James kept us safe, cheerful and kept us up to date on the situation. James took us to the other hotel and ensured our safety at all times. Such lovely staff they need to be recognised by premier inn for all they did to ensure the safety of all the guests. Cannot thank them enough for all they did. They went over and above the call of duty.
- 904keithv (10/5): Very helpful. - Well upon arrival, we were greeted by Syed who told us that we were not booked in, my companies fault but he told me to book online, I had no means of doing that with my company card because of security measures online through my phone. Then Becky offered to kindly do it on the premier in computer and sorted it very swiftly, she is always very welcoming and always smiling. Thank you. Also would like to thank Magda too as I was in a different vehicle to the one I usually have and realised that I had put the wrong registration in and although the car park is managed by a private company she managed to change it on the system, saving me a headache. So thanks to Becky and Magda!!!!!
- Flyer631112 (10/5): Overnight stop - Stop off on the way home from a trip to Spain.
Lisa on reception was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was great with good facilities, friendly staff and a good breakfast.
Could not be faulted.
Great Indian restaurant close by and Harvester pub which was nice and had a good selection of well priced drinks.

- 880sanab (8/5): Good experience - Came here with family. Had an amazing experience, Lisa was friendly and always attended to our needs.
Will deffo come back
- 757hinnaa (10/5): Wonderful stay - We had an amazing experience here, Lisa was super friendly and welcoming, she attended to our needs and make the experience more enjoyable, would defo come back.
- Pen2k (10/5): Bicester at its best! - Anna and Callum. M. were the loveliest and warmest people we met tonight after being out at a wedding. The hotel stay was great, cannot complain about anything. Room was comfy, shower was great, air con works, great location, all in all very happy.
- louisefS1869NL (10/5): Clean, comfortable, and great customer service from Lisa. - We stayed here with our two young children for one night. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable.
The real highlight, however, was their ‘front of house’ staff member, Lisa. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and was a real pleasure to deal with. She was polite and friendly, and our daughters came away feeling very special.
We would definitely stay here again.
- craigsM8337TW (10/5): My sons birthday - My stay was absolutely amazing thanks to magda and the team going the extra to make my autistic son have the next experience for his birthday
- jodiehE1612JK (2/5): You might need to take a duster with you! - The front of the hotel didn’t look like it does in the photos I actually thought it looked shut down until we drove round the back! Checking in staff were friendly, but our room was not cleaned very well at all, it was very dusty, previous persons pubes on the wall in the bathroom. Skirting boards full of dust
Couldnt open the window for fresh air
And the flooring must be thin as i hardly slept with all the noise of people walking around
The worst premier inn we have stayed in
- GraemeHunter (10/5): Would stay again in a heartbeat - Room on ground floor facing carpark was spotless. Great nights sleep and a fantastic breakfast, cooked perfectly to order, cracking start to the week
- russ510russ510 (2/5): Shower filled with sewage - Issue with drains in room 42 backfilling the shower tray kept me awake gurgling during the night . Awoke and found shower tray full of water so no shower.
Told to claim back on good night garuntee only 2 be told no because I didn't let anyone know at 2am and allow them to fix the drains or move room.
Lenny doesn't mention that in the tv ad.
- W1288NWtanial (6/5): Pity about the new beds - Location excellent. Unfortunately the new Premier Inn beds are no where near as comfortable as the Hypnos ones and the air conditioning wasn’t effective.
- Lillylottie (6/5): Ok one night stay - Staff friendly, room a disappointment, bits of loo roll still on bathroom floor, the extra pillows we needed in the sealed bag smelled frousty. Pillows way too hard it’s like laying on a concrete slab.
- J5009RMsomb (10/5): Highly recommend - A really well presented Premier Inn, I had a Premier Inn plus room and it was clean and quiet. As always great coffee machine. Staff very attentive, cheerful and helpful. I've met 4 of them, including the hotel manager, and they are all welcoming and happy to help. Special mention to night team that, due to my early bird tendency, he made a coffee for me . Thank you all for the lovely stay
- cristianfM9385MZ (2/5): Bathroom floaded/water coming out of toilet not fixed - I made a reservation on the 1st of July and paid everything in advance for a 3 nights stay
I am beyond disappointed with your service:
-since today,29th July, water has been coming out of the toilet, in room 28, all the floor around the bathroom. Sink is also floaded, water not coming out, being hard to use.
In the morning of 29 th july, I informed reception, and no one came to fix until 6pm. I asked again, and I was told I need to move and went to room 33.
-I just arrived from a night out, and the room 33 is not usable, being too hot, unbreathable, especially for my mom which is on medication, being cardiac, with a broken air co. My mom asked for a solution, no one came 2h to fix it and when I asked again I was asked again to move to room 28, as everything is full and there is no other option.
As a result: I am staying in a room with water all around the toilet(pic attached).
I am staying until 1 st of August, and am supposed to stay in a room in these conditions.
It is unacceptable, disrespectful, causing me anxiety and changing rooms twice in 1 day, not being to sleep until 1pm currently.
- Q7948SNsarahb (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - Lovely night's sleep, quiet and clean hotel, comfortable bed and friendly reception staff. Breakfast was of a high standard and Lisa was very attentive and did a fab job.
- L8431TDiang (2/5): Awful smell! - Checked in last night for a single night stay. Was given room 106. The room smelt a bit stale when we went in, but it was late so we went straight to bed. By the morning the smell was terrible! It was coming from the bathroom and seemed to be the drains. We couldn't bring ourselves to use the facilities, it was so bad. The room should never have been given to guests - there is no way anyone could have missed it. Won't be returning.
- donnagO8556VG (4/5): No air conditioning in sealed window rooms - Premier Inn is a great brand and always comfortable and clean with mostly great staff
However, over the last few months I have stayed in a few different Premier Inns and the Aircon has not been working in all of them - I find it hard to believe that it takes 3-4 months to fix the air conditioning! Especially when I have a friend that works in one of the Hotels and has told me it is a higher management decision not to address the air conditioning to save money!!
Unacceptable as the rooms are not cheap and you now have to pay for parking.
- 776elliotj (10/5): BEST STAY OF MY LIFE - AMAZING STAY BEST BREAKFAST OF MY LIFE FELT LIKE I WAS ON HOLIDAY IT WAS QUICK AND FRESH FOOD REALLY WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE SHOULD BE 5 STAR THIS HOTEL. LISA THE DEPUTY MANGER WAS ALWAYS THERE HAPPY TO HELP.😁😁😁
- jasonjL8060RV (10/5): Premier Inn Hotel- Birmingham (Great Barr/ M6 J7) - Recently stopped at the Premier Inn Hotel in Birmingham (Great Barr/M6 J7) and the experience was nothing but positive.
The room we stayed in was lovely and clean and fully catered for our needs for the duration of our stay.
The breakfast was lovely with plenty of variety for all of us and the cooked breakfast was cooked to order meaning it was hot and fresh.
From our arrival the staff were amazing, friendly, cheerful and always happy to help.
Lisa the deputy manager could not do enough to assist me and my two boys during breakfast to ensure our needs were catered for. Friendly, cheerful and super helpful she is an absolute credit to Premier Inn. Thank you Lisa!
- louispK5217EJ (10/5): Stay for National Champs in Birmingham - Lisa was very kind and welcoming to me on my arrival and made my experience 2 weekends ago very pleasant! She made sure I was taken care of very well at Breakfast too
