• T2612UXsteves (10/5): Excellent overnight stay experience. - My family and I were meeting friends in Cardiff at a show and the was ideally placed for a short trip in and out of the city centre to get to the theatre. The common areas of the hotel were all very well maintained and clean. The staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful. I love the self check-in system, a major bonus to avoid the queues when checking in. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we had a very good and peaceful night's sleep. We will definitely stay here again.
• 706beckyf (10/5): Fantastic Night Stay - I stayed here prior to some training at UHW. I was warmly welcomed at reception after the machines wouldn’t let me self check in. They helped me book in for an evening meal as well as confirming a time for breakfast. The room was just like any other Premier Inn, but I was based on the first floor at the end of the corridor so it was very peaceful where I was sleeping. The room was spacious and the bathroom was lovely and clean. The TV was fab and there was a range of coffees and teas available too. The evening meal was lovely and the service was a little bit slow, but the friendly nature of the staff made up for that. All my courses were lovely and came out perfect. At breakfast the next morning, there was a large selection of both hot and cold food available and since I came down early morning, everything was fresh and well stocked. The free parking was a huge bonus and this hotel was just down the road from the hospitals park and ride so the location was absolutely fantastic. I would 100% stay again if I need to visit UHW again!

• 81nicpark (10/5): A great place to stay for a family weekend away - We had a lovely weekend at Cardiff North - used the bus to get to and from the city centre and this was £12 return for a family ticket and easy to use. The staff were amazing, room was very comfortable, food was great and we had a lovely weekend away.
• nicolabF3247VY (10/5): Halloween stay - We stayed here over Halloween weekend and had a wonderful stay- everyone we met was super friendly, they really went over and above to make our kids feel special- giving them treat bags and had a find the ghost game which they loved! Great play area which we got a table right outside so we could enjoy our dinner and keep an eye on children at the same time and room was spotless! Will hopefully be back very soon!

• nimadre (8/5): Definitely recommended. - The hotel was quiet despite being very busy and the room was spotless. The meal deal was great value and the restaurant staff were professional, pleasant and well trained. Special mention to Roberta in the restaurant. I had a leg injury that significantly impacted on my mobility. Roberta took me under her wing, taking my order so I didn't have to order at the bar, ensuring my food was ok and delivering and refilling my drink. She looked out for me the following evening and provided the same exemplary service. A real gem and an asset to the company. My only issue, which wouldn't normally apply, was the fact that my accessible room was as far away from reception and the restaurant as it was possible to be. Perhaps something to be considered when doing future refurbishment?

• 758andrewb (10/5): Nothing not to like here - Great Premier Inn . - 3.8 ? 5 for me , great location , free parking , many supermarkets, takeaways and a restaurant nearby on top of the bar and restaurant on site which is stylishly decorated. Friendly staff , drinks offers in the bar . Easy self check in , clean modern rooms which effective heating/air con . For the £85 Double room I was very impressed , approx 4miles from Cardiff city centre but I highly recommend.
• rachelcB1226RG (10/5): Lovely stay and great breakfast the next day. - We had a really lovely stay. We didn't check in till late but had a real quick check in. The room was lovely and had everything we needed. I went down to the bar and had a really nice cocktail and brought it back to my room. The only bad thing was the next day we noticed some stains on the top of our duvet that we definitely didn't cause ourselves.
• I9024VG (10/5): Lovely stay - Hotel was very quiet and had a great nights sleep. Bed very comfy. Cleanliness was great, nothing to report. The restaurant was fantastic value, a huge choice for breakfast lunch and dinner. They also do a happy hour and the drinks were a good choice on this. All staff i interacted with lovely and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing all you can eat and well stocked. Would stay here again

• GS883 (10/5): Fantastic 3 day stay. - Fantastic 3 day stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was really clean, comfortable and quiet. The cafe had a great menu with food available until 10pm. Every member of staff we met was lovely, efficient and working really hard. Free parking and good location for easy drive to Cardiff centre (10-15mins).

Plenty of tea and coffees available always. Plan and look forward to a return visit early December

• X4369UOnicolat (10/5): Restaurant service top notch - well done Emily - We wanted to share our experience of staying in this Premier Inn. We have lived close by for many years and needed to stay here for two nights following a house sale. The hotel has had a lovely make over and does give a relaxed feeling. The team on duty were always willing to help throughout our stay. Parts of the hotel were a little cold and sometimes areas could have easily be kept cleaner but our biggest shout out was for a new member of staff called Emily. Emily served our tables in the evening on both nights of our stay, she was one of the politest young ladies we have had the pleasure of being served by. This was replicated on our second evening and also watching her with other guests in the restaurant. This young lady is an absolute out and out asset to the Premier Inn team in this hotel and made a very stressful two days much more enjoyable.
• samanthah391 (4/5): Shame - We just spent 2 nights here at this hotel. On arrival it does look dated from the outside but inside was lovely and modern. The lady on the check in was lovely ( she was from another hotel helping out ). But when we got to the room it still had water bottles around the room from a previous guest . All the doors were covered in drips and handprints , the walls had splats of residue of something that was looking to be going mouldy ( see pics ). We had an evening meal the first night, service was very slow took half hour to get a drink and we were sat for dinner for 2.5 hours in the end as it took so long. Me and my partner slept well in the main bed and we had 2 beds for the kids which were what looked to be a sofa converted. One kids bed was lovely and comfy by the other was rock solid so they couldn’t sleep and ended up on the bottom of our bed :( The next morning we went for breakfast in the hotel as we did the meal deal, we went at 8.30 and everything was running out and it was a lot of waiting around for restocking and when they did restock so many people were waiting that by the time you got there again it’s was all out. Even Apple and orange juice was out . After this experience with the meal and breakfast we canceled our meal deal for the 2nd night. Also of you go out for the day in the car don’t come back to late as all the parking was gone.
• ahmadmozafarisabeti (2/5): Terrible Experience at Premier Inn Cardiff North hotel - Terrible Experience at Premier Inn Cardiff North hotel- hotel Disrespectful Staff and Zero Customer Care I had the absolute worst stay at this hotel, and I can't believe a supposedly reputable brand would allow such unprofessionalism. We simply went to grab some milk from the hotel's supply for our coffee in the room – basic hospitality, right? There was NONE available. We politely approached the staff, and over the course of about 40 minutes, we had to explain our request to THREE different employees, each time being told to "just wait" with no sense of urgency or help. My child specifically wanted the hotel's milk (which isn't even available for purchase at the shop), and it was heartbreaking to see them disappointed. Finally, one staff member who introduced herself as the "supervisor" claimed they were too busy. When I requested her to at least have it delivered to our room, she flat-out refused, saying they "don't have the staff for that." Then, with outright rudeness, she told me that if I had a problem, I should just "cancel the room." I was mortified standing there with my child, feeling utterly humiliated and disrespected. Ultimately, without the milk, embarrassed in front of my child, I angrily returned to my room. I never expected a brand like this to promote such an irresponsible person to a leadership role – it's a disgrace. The core issue here isn't just the lack of milk; it's the blatant disrespect and complete disregard for customer expectations. Basic service? Forget it. I will NEVER return, and I'll be switching to hotels from other chains next time. I've already shared this nightmare experience with all my friends and family – stay away if you value dignity and decent treatment! 1/5 stars – you've lost a loyal customer forever.
• N6170NBdavee (10/5): A very enjoyable mini break at this hotel - Nice clean room. Friendly staff very nice breakfast. Staff did seem a little bit disorganised in the evening but wasn't a major issue for us.
• Marshall (6/5): - Do you like Wi-Fi? Then don't stay here. This hotel treats Wi-Fi like it's water. Water, on a dying waterless planet, that teases you with a mirage of water out on the horizon, but it’s not real water, and you have to beg, borrow, or steal to get the smallest amount of actual water to live off — of until the next day, when the game starts all over again. They deliberately make their ‘Free’ Wi-Fi unusable so you’re pushed to the ‘Ultimate Wi-Fi’ (that’s actually only slightly faster than a 3G phone connection). Maybe this is a one-off weird issue? Maybe it’s me? Nope! ALL Premier Inns operate this way — as I stayed in two different locations on one trip; a mistake I won’t make again. But wait! They have a solution! A FREE coupon / voucher code to the rescue! Right? Sadly, unless you’re traveling alone with a BlackBerry phone, you likely have more than ONE device in your room that needs Wi-Fi. So you’re supposed create a Premier Wi-Fi account, and THEN input your coupon / voucher code into that account, so that THEN you can share and get more than one device online at a time. Does it work? You bet! Only 12 different screens assuming your family types in your new free Premier Wi-Fi account details correctly. But since you’ve read this far in the review, you’re now smarter than everyone at Premier Inn — who isn’t a nefarious bean counter playing keep-away with the Wi-Fi codes like it’s water on a dying, dust-filled planet.

• 993wilmam (10/5): Great stay - Checked in around 3.30 and was greeted by mary, She was very helpful and had us checked in within minutes which was great as my toddler was unsettled, She gave him some colouring in stuff which he loved, So thankyou for that. The staff were great always full of smiles and happy to help. The housekeeping team are fab, helped us with everything we needed, and had our room clean whenever we needed. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bath is great. Can't wait for us to return.

When they have find out the reason why we are staying they informed the restaurant staff and surprised us with decorations on table and complementary desserts for the birthday girl. We are definitely coming back soon

Mandy was so helpful when we asked for fresh towels and clean cups. The two girls on reception Naomi & Andrea were both lovely and really made us feel welcomed. We will definitely be back soon.

Bed was very comfortable room spacious and clean. We did not order cocktails as from a pre made bottle not made up by bar staff good selection of beers. Breakfast was lovely great variety and lovely chef made me up a delicious porridge. Staff member at check in very helpful.

We have stayed here a number of times and have found it good value for money and very comfortable. We were unfortunate this time in that we met the first unpleasent unfriendly rude girl working in the bar on Wednesday night 15th October. Such a pity but other that this person we had a lovely stay as usual. And I guess one poorly trained badmannered person in all the times we have stayed is not a bad result.

• CB337 (10/5): Spot on - Great for a short trip to Cardiff. Once inside it looks very classy (see bar photo). Room was comfortable but had a slightly damp smell on arrival which was solved when we put the heater on. Staff were polite and attentive at breakfast, despite not seeing them on arrival due to terminal style check in. Breakfast was spot on in terms of quality, taste and range. Would definitely go again
• iansW9570QE (10/5): Nice location with ample parking and nicely equipped rooms - Have stayed here before and like its location with some good seafront walks.The staff are brilliant and friendly which is always good.We like this Premier Inn hotel has it does have opening windows and no air conditioning unlike some other hotels which is often disliked by guests as it often attracts dust and can be quite smelly leaving you with a sore throat if not serviced regularly. Generally, this hotel is very clean which is a testament to the staff who look after it.At the moment ,the hotel has a Brewers Fayre restaurant and pub attached to it with a good choice of meals and drinks.
• 868tarajp (6/5): Great hotel apart from mrs grumps roberta in restaurant - We stayed here on a quiet friday. Because my mum took a brain bleed and was in Whiteabbey rehab. My 2 girls (good girls) were in the brewers fayre with us for dinner and after i took them to the play area. And said its so quiet just play in There for a while. But as soon as i left. ‘Roberta’ who looked like a face of thunder. Went in and told them off and told my 11 year old she was too tall (keeping in mind no one was in there or near there and they were not bothering anyone. My 11 year old being sensitive left and cried in her room. And that was her rest of the night. Now i dont mind if she explained to me. But the way it was done. Not knowing the heartache that we are going through. Ruined our stay. Not that we were here for fun. It was me that told the girls to go in the play area. I went up to roberta! And explained it was me that told them. Her reply ‘oh they can stay in there. They just have to sit!!! Not run around (it is a play area with cushioned running obstacle course). Ridiculous! Thankfully the young man behind the bar made up for mrs grumpy and he was so pleasant.

Good location within 5 minutes walk to the small town centre which has a few shops, restaurants and pubs. Very quiet during the night ensuring a good nights sleep. Friendly staff on reception. Will stay again.

The room was comfortable and bed was very comfortable and gave us a good nights sleep. Also the hotel encouraged the guests to be as quiet as possible and this worked very well. The free parking was great.
• U8601IDnicolag (10/5): 5 ⭐️ - From the warm welcome to the comfy bed the stay with my 7 year old niece did not disappoint. Staff although busy where always near by and happy to help. The room had a beautiful view of Carrickfergus Castle and Belfast Lough. Lots of hot water and fluffy towels. We even got our drinks in fancy cocktail glasses for that little bit of extra va va voom. Special thanks to Mary and Ben who give the meaning to service with a smile. I will definitely be back.

• donnamT8949ZW (2/5): Disappointing ,shabby and dirty - We arrived at this hotel to be greeted by rubbish on the ground outside reception, exterior is shabby and in need of painting , room was fine but so so hot , fans were provided but impossible to sleep although I will acknowledge that the beds were comfy Bar service was poor , served drinks at 10.45 then asked to leave at 11 and take them with us , Sunday nights no bar service after 10pm in the height of summer . Bathrooms in the bar were dirty and not cleaned and breakfast was overpriced and mediocre I would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone else
• rhO7701XK (4/5): Awful and disappointing. - We arrived 40 minutes early and just wanted to enquire if our room was ready. We were greeted by a rather rude lady at reception who told us to go away and come back at 3pm as we didn't pay £15 for early check in. We were then given our key to our room where we discovered an empty crisp packet and dirty spoon under our bed which showed us our room wasn't properly cleaned. We ate in the restaurant that night and one of our party asked for a margarita pizza which cost me £13 and it was definitely store bought. My 2 year grandson was in a different room below us and he discovered something stuck to the side of the bed which turned out to be chewing gum. Staff in the bar were rude when taking orders and serving drinks. Rubbish in the bin outside was also not cleaned out regularly and rubbish piled up over a long period of time which was picked at by birds and strewn along the ground outside reception which of course was not very inviting and didnt allow anybody to sit on the benches outisde in the very warm weather. Unfortunately due to this experience we will never ever stay in this establishment again or recommend it to our friends and family.
