Guest Reviews
- neand2015 (10/5): Fabulous!!! , friendly , safe and great value . - Lovely staff . Great bed and bedding......lovely breakfast
.......................lovely meal ...... .............
- A3089ZZjohns (2/5): Horrible breakfast - The room was fine but the so called unlimited breakfast was a complete disaster I was told as I took my table at 09.15 that there was no black pudding no tomatoes no mushrooms so being diabetic that’s two items I always eat then I asked for two poached eggs but was told they couldn’t do poached eggs as there was a problem with the gas ! But they were doing fried eggs so I think the cook was not able to poach an egg half the tables were full of dirty plates and cups so a very bad experience for £10.99
- 135DavidS135 (6/5): DECENT STAY - Ideal location for the airport. Room OK, everything you could need. Easy check in. £7 to park overnight, don't forget to get QR code slip from reception and pay at parking kiosk just outside reception when leaving. Restaurant/pub OK with pleasant staff, decent food and drink choice but a little costly. Pint of Moretti over £7, wow.
- abbymS4683JH (8/5): Lovely stay, Service could do with improving. - Ideal location for where we were going. Lovely spacious room and the bed was very comfortable.
No noise throughout the night which was great.
Space for our car under the building. It cost us £18 for 48 hours.
We stayed for tea on our first night which didn't run smooth unfortunately. Not sure if they were down on staff but we waiting a long time for someone to come and sit us at a table so we took it upon ourselves to find a table. We ordered our meal which took nearly an hour to come. They then forgot to put through my 4 year olds meal so had to wait a further 10 minutes for that. The staff member did reduce the cost of our bill for the inconvenience which we did appreciate. The two lads were very appologetic and were very polite.
Breakfast on the first morning was lovely. Good selection of hot food and hot drinks.
Second morning unfortunately wasnt as good. We were issued a card with our key that stated that breakfast finished at 1030. We headed down at 945 which we were greeted to a not so impressed lady who abruptly told me it finished at 10 despite what our card said. She did later tell us not to rush as she realised we were miss informed but the situation made us feel very uncomfortable and rushed.
I would stay again as the room we couldn't fault and also would stay again for breakfast. Unfortunately not again for evening meals.
- bigstuw (8/5): Ideal for an overnight stop - We needed just a nice room for an overnight stop ahead of a visit to Harrogate on the Saturday. We found this Premier Inn which is about a 30 min drive into the town, just up the road from Leeds/Bradford airport. Nice, clean and quiet. Just off the beaten track and with an attached restaurant so we had a nice dinner on the Friday and breakfast on the Saturday. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Everything you expect from a Premier Inn.
- SharonS228 (6/5): Very convenient for the airport but looking a bit tired now. - Located very near to the airport. Plenty of parking although charges are quite high (private car park) £7 for the night was only £5 last year.
Rooms are comfortable but are looking a bit tired now. Plenty of tea and coffee. Beds are very comfortable. Bar doesn’t open until 5pm ☹️ but the food is very reasonable and good quality. Plenty of choice. Restaurant is also looking a bit tired and needs re vamping. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
- robertwZ2729CR (10/5): Wonderful stay before our flight! - We had a wonderful stay before our flight the next day. Every member of staff we met was friendly and courteous, and when I casually mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary we were surprised with a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates - they didn't have to go the extra mile, but it really made our evening special.
Our room was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. The hotel itself was quiet and relaxing and the restaurant looked lovely. We treated ourselves to a dessert each, which was delicious!
Breakfast was unlimited, but it was cooked to order - a big plus for us! No stale, lukewarm food like you can get from a buffet.
Overall it was a fantastic stay just 5 mins from the airport. Great little room, atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were exceptional. We wouldn't hesitate to come back.
P.S. its also right across from Murgatroyds, an incredible fish and chips restaurant - which is on another level!
- BigRick1980 (2/5): Utterly Atrocious Shower - No Water Pressure - The water pressure in the shower is unforgivably poor!
It's the same in pretty much ALL your hotels these days. Whereas once it was a point of pride for Premier Inn, boasting "powerful showers" on the hotel pages - now I could get a better shower stood outside in the rain.
On top of the fact that fewer and fewer have detachable shower-heads, it makes for a miserable experience.
I'm a big guy, and I can shower in 5-10 minutes at home, depending on how much of a rush I'm in, whereas at your hotels it now reguarly takes 20+ minutes, purely because the showers take so much longer to wash the soap off - and because I can't position the shower head to blast the water off directly, I have to hope it runs down me in the right way and washes it off.
I plugged in the plug in the bath here to see how much water I actually use your way, and the bath was nearly full to the overflow hole! What a complete and utter waste. However, as I stay here for work, I need to make sure I start the day clean and fresh with a proper shower.
It really is a bitterly disappointing experience, and one I end up ranting about whenever anyone asks me about my stay at Premier Inns.
- S9340ZZlindae (6/5): Room was spacious. - Room was dated but clean. Spacious room, bed was comfortable but do need to climb on as high off ground. Bathroom wasn't too bad. Shower head could do with a clean. A little bit of damp above the bath. But not too bad. Maybe have a look at it. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall not a bad hotel.
- nmaidwell123 (8/5): Comfy clean room - As you would expect from this brand. Comfy rooms well spaced out with everything you need for your stay. Well located for the airport and clean and warm. The check in was quick and friendly welcome. Seven pounds to park over night. The only negative was the shower water pressure was very poor as the shower head was far too large for the volume of water going through it.
- hollyb481 (10/5): Great bang for your buck - Great bang for your buck. On site parking, optional breakfast, and a comfy and spacious bedroom. What more could you ask for.
- H1134BNbarbaraa (4/5): Housekeeping need a check ✔️ list - The skirting boards showed visible dirt accumulation, and cobwebs were present throughout the property, particularly noticeable in the stairwell. Since guests must use the stairs due to the absence of lifts, these high-traffic areas should be maintained to a higher standard. The housekeeping team would benefit from implementing a more thorough cleaning checklist.
- M5318WLsusand (2/5): Awful - O my awful! Only nice thing about it was the staff. So check in was absolutely fine lovely lady. Then the walk up the stairs which were filthy hallway smelt awful. Room especially bedding smelt of smoke the next morning after a sleepless night due to the smell of dampness and the floor being wet near the window. Thought to have a good shower. The hair dryer once I got it to work crackled and several broken bits of plastic fell out then it stopped working went down to ask fir a replacement hairdryer was told there was not one so I had to use my own head a go to the disabled loe and dry my hair with The blower. Not a great experience at all. I have stayed at many other premiers but now if this is the standard I will be taking the app of my phone ps the dinner was just awful the only fully edible bit was the prawn cocktail
- Sharronvont (10/5): As always, a comfortable room. - An exceptionally friendly team both in the hotel and the restaurant. The hotel was clean, with a warm and friendly atmosphere.
We asked for a quiet room at the back of the hotel and it was just perfect, no traffic noise whatsoever. Thank you Vic on reception.
- CupcakeW (10/5): Great stay - Booked two rooms prior to our flight. Was slightly worried after reading the negative reviews.
We were checked in quickly by a friendly receptionist who explained how to pay for the car park.
One of the rooms was on the ground floor and was a family room with a double bed, single and the cot was there as requested. Not a huge room but it was clean and adequate for what we needed. Our room was on the first floor. We had booked a double but I think it was also a family room as it has a single bed in an alcove area. . It was a large room. Again, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and plenty of hot water.
No issues and would book again.
- coleen61 (10/5): Wonderful stay. - Stayed for a weekend
Hotel was clean, tidy and well stocked.
The staff were absolutely fantastic and could not have been more helpful.
Unfortunately they don’t have many staff to manage the bar, breakfasts and the hotel. But they made our stay very welcoming, they accommodated for our large family with a smile and a positive attitude.
Was very impressed and will be back again.
Peter and Jenny were super helpful, and offered help and advice when asked. They made our stay excellent.
- Voyage46765710172 (10/5): The excellent team at the old Brickworks. - Attend regularly to watch Leeds play, and meet friends up there.
Staff know me now after staying there so often over the past couple of years and the service and attitude of the staff is to be commended, the food on offer is always fresh.
A special mention should also go to the staff you very rarely see who work tirelessly behind the scene to ensure your rooms are spic & spam, so a special mention must go out to Mandy the house keeper and her team, you do a wonderful job and although we don't that much of you and the team, I appreciate your hard work that ensures my stay is a pleasant one.
Eric Philippides.
Will be back in a couple of weeks and look forward to seeing the team again.
PS
Karren hope the wedding went well.
- A4353MBdavidc (2/5): Worst hotel stay in my lifetime - Absolutely worst hotel experience I have ever had. I was put in room #1 which is right next to the door to the reception as well as the stairwell. The room has _zero_ sound insulation so every time someone exited or entered the reception area, the door would slam shut. The room vibrated with every slam. Additionally, you heard every stomp of feet on the staircase.
I checked out at 3:15am because it was a waste of time to stay any longer.
- A3900CYangelas (10/5): A flying visit - Everything about this place is fabulous. The fact that you can have a little fresh air in , quiet spot very friendly clean and with plenty of parking.
The staff are wonderful and the food and service were amazing. You can tell that a lot of pride is taken with this establishment . Well done to everybody concerned
- Kerkey1 (8/5): Not As Bad As Some Say - We had read the reviews prior to arriving and were a little apprehensive about staying here. When we checked in you have to ring the bell which alerts the restaurant and someone attends to check you in, and we were met by a friendly lady who checked us in and advised us on paying for the carpark before exiting the next morning, you do receive a QR voucher which you scan at the machine for the discount. The carpark rate is £7 for 24 hours. The rooms are a little dated and could do with a revamp. We visited the restaurant bar for drinks and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the bar shuts at 10 o'clock, there were people coming in for drinks after this and were unable to be served. Overall not as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be. We didn't dine here so cannot comment on the food.
- GJD77 (6/5): Going Downhill Rapidly! - I’ve been a customer of Premier Inn now for several decades, and I have to say my once favourite and wholly reliable chain of hotels is really starting to let itself down.
This particular branch is one that used to be a lot better, but seems to have been forgotten by Whitbread, or at least is next on the list for refurb I hope! Being next to Leeds/Bradford airport you’d have thought they’d want to keep this one up to scratch, but alas not.
First of all the cost, this branch is now rarely sub £130 per night now, mid week, which is very much on the high side when there are several others not far away that are a fair bit less. I wouldn’t mind so much if it was fresh and pristine, but it is definitely not that. It’s worn and tired, and in need of a refresh.
The bathroom in my room (35) is, well, filthy. The extractor vent has thick clumpy dust on it (I mean this just needs a hoover, not exactly hard!), the paint is peeling away from the walls due to damp, meaning the extractor is doing naff all anyway, the shower head itself is black from mould, and the grouting between the tiles is also black and filthy.
At above average pricing, it needs to be better, perhaps instead of spending all this money on expanding your hotels, maybe spend some money in making your existing rooms worth the money, eh?
That aside, staff were good, and Murgatroyds fish and chips across the road made staying here somewhat worthwhile.
- PaulY1146 (2/5): Terrible customer service - Just checked in after 3pm, not busy at reception at all, but one of the most unwelcoming members of staff from this hotel group since being traveling the last 4 weeks staying in a different hotel every night at Premier inn s. The person no smile , firm and not helpful at all, definitely someone who should not be in the hospitality business unless behind yhe scenes , for customer service I'd give him 0/10 his name was Peter this is how to not welcome people in any form of hospitality business
- melanierR6005DR (2/5): Poor premier inn - Room 121 was tired and needs renovation, the extractor fan is the bathroom was extremely high pitched, the hair drier rattled and smelt of burning!
Room was clean but I wouldn’t stay again and would expect more from a premier inn,
You also pay for £7 for parking which seems excessive.
- Hithere678 (4/5): Miserable grumpy check in staff - Just checked in at 3.30pm 12 october and it took three presses on the bell to get a member of staff to come to reception to check us in. We were met by a miserable grumpy member of staff who made us feel very unwelcome. We showed her a printed off email to say that premier inn would honour the old price of car parking charges as it had gone up since we booked it last year. She said it was out of her hands and couldn't do anything about it and we would have to pay the full price. I rang head office to explain and he said the next time we book they will honour it but had to pay the full price to park. That's not good enough. Yes it's only a small amount but that isn't the point. We have an email saying reception would sort it and they haven't. Also the the member of staff who checked us in needs to go on a retraining programme on how to greet people professionally. In contrast the man at the desk early next morning when we checked out, was very polite and helpful.
- R6813HCannab (4/5): Disappointing visit - Have stayed at this premier Inn many times and never had a problem. Was concerned after reading reviews and can understand why. The positives were staff were friendly especially in the restaurant and the food was nice and usual premier inn standard. The negatives were its very tired shabby and dirty. We were told on arrival at 3.30pm our room may not be ready as there were staff shortages. The room was ok but shower head very grimey. The breakfast area was dirty and food under the tables looked like it had been there more than a few days . Everywhere looked like it needed a good clean. I have left the review as hope there is some improvement it is badly needed and have enjoyed staying there in the past but reluctant to pay to stay there again unless it improves.
- Navigate11555941587 (2/5): Extremely bad - hugely disappointing. Won't visit again. - Very disappointed. Stayed at many premier inns for business (with business acct) and leisure and never any problems. This one however room was dirty not having been cleaned. Bathroom grotty with unclean toilet and bath. Carpet in bedroom not vacuumed with rubbish on floor and coins! Room smelled of mould and damp/foisty. Reception staff very apologetic and inspected room before offering us another room. Second room clean but also strong odour of damp/mould triggering and asthma attack (mould sensitive health issues).
- Rosalind2297 (2/5): Very poor and tired. - Very disappointed. We have stayed at lots of Premier Inn hotels but this was a huge let down. We had to hunt the receptionist on arrival and also when we had to make an inquiry. The hairdryer was broken and the room was very tired.
£15.40 for four small bottles of coke on top of a £7 parking charge was a bit much. We had to wait forty minutes for breakfast, good job we were not going for a flight. Then it was hunt the receptionist again to check out. Never again.
- meikep2019 (10/5): For all your wedidngs, leisure trips and business things.. Premier Inn is there for you. - Had a very welcoming pleasant stay at this hotel. We were there with a few friends for a wedding, including the couple themselfs, lovely stay, great parking + fish & chips around the corner :D
- donnawU9388CO (10/5): Great Stay ,Thanks to all - The Experience overall was 5 star ,All staff we encountered were helpful, friendly and efficient, the room itself was far too hot🥵,clearly an issue with air con fault that desperately needs addressed ...although extra fan was provided which made it bearable..and that is at the end of September!!.room 107 premier plus room...Room spacious and everything easy access, breakfast hot and tasty, housekeeping worked to max with great results, nothing too much trouble ,reception all excellent, therefore we decided not to trigger the good night guarantee...and the bed was soooo comfy!! After working before retirement in the airline industry for Emirates,I felt personally that the overall experience outweighed the balmy nights!!...Thankyou to all for your Moorlands welcome and Attention,Mike on Reception working Tirelessly and everyone we encountered,The housekeeping staff are second to none..and a special mention to Niki on Reception and many other jobs for her hardwork she is a credit to your team..not one for the limelight ,... Management..be careful not to miss this Genuine Gem of an employee..credit where it is due....No hesitation to recommend to others and definitely will be staying again...Thanks Mrs Donna and Mr Ross Whitelaw ..date of stay ..25th September -29th Sept 5 nights in total
Again,
Thankyou
- Craighull (4/5): Disappointing shabby hotel - We use this every year as handy for the airport but felt it is need of a refurbish. Shabby rooms and paint peeling in the bathroom. No where to charge the phone. Breakfast in a gloomy pub next door where staff barely spoke . Disappointing .
- 178rutef (10/5): Amazing family stay - Everything was amazing and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable .
Definitely coming back
- 538shirleyg (10/5): A Good Experience, all round. - Have been numerous times to this Hotel.
Just returned from a 2 night stay.
Rooms are always clean, comfortable, and everything you need.
Staff are always very helpful and obliging.
Ate in the restaurant, food is excellent, and the staff, so very amicable.
One staff member Sammy earned my 3 p's award, Pleasant, Polite, and Professional in his duties.
Also the waitress Mollie, or Millie, she was very polite and helpful.
Would return no problem.
- markhC5675XH (10/5): Short stay - Would stay again.
Clean and tidy.
Convenient, short distance off motorway, close to Leeds.
Good breakfast.
Good size car park.
- G8102LNmichaelr (10/5): Leek Premier inn - Great stay. Nice parking, vlean and comfortable. Good value for money. Good room, efficient check in
Thoroughly recommended
- X2896OSrichardh (10/5): Absolutely brilliant - From the time we got there to the time we left the staff were absolutely brilliant. Polite courteous and always checking everything was ok with our room etc.
We will be staying there again next time we go to leek.
- N4034LNdalef (4/5): Very basic bare minimum needs a lot of improvement - Its a nice hotel but im in a wheelchair doorways are just about big enough to get through but only if you have a standard wheelchair no adjustable bed food was great though what i had wifi is disgusting even if you pay for it 9mps id hate to think what speeds there free one was and seeing as i booked an accessible room you think they would do better for the cost
- Wallbarber (10/5): Another great stay. - We have just returned from another great stay at the hotel. We have been coming here for 10 years now and the standard of service has always been excellent. It very convenient as just off the m62 and more importantly close to our family. I would like to say thank you to Karen and molly for their help on both reception and at breakfast. Easy to say that we will be staying here again in December.
- GoingGuide (8/5): Ideally located, comfortable stay - Couldn't have found anywhere more suitable than Premier Inn for its location, facilities and price. As we were aiming to go walking in the western part of the Peak District, this hotel was ideal. The room was comfortable, spacious and quiet; and the buffet breakfasts (optional) were really good value for money.
Set on the edge of the town centre of Leek, it's walking distance from the cafés, shops, etc within the town. The hotel has its own car park, though there's an extra cost for this which is not expensive. Overall, we'd use it again next time we're visiting the area.
- kellyan88 (10/5): Overnight stay before going to Alton Tower's in the morning. - When my daughter helped me book a standard room, she didn't realise that the room doesn't have a fridge. The staff was very nice, and gave us a free upgrade to Accessible Premier Plus room with fridge, as my son has Special Needs with food aversion and needing to drink fresh milk as soon as he wakes up.
- FrequentFlier824375 (10/5): Excellent for our one night stopover. - Very friendly staff. Nice clean and comfortable room. Felt sorry for the staff having to explain what could and couldn't be ordered under the 'Meal Deal' that we'd booked (for dinner & breakfast). A problem that could have been solved by the chain printing the information on the menu beforehand - there were some daft choices!
- OnAir42745319474 (10/5): Extra Mile / Thank You - Have stayed here a number of times over the years, visiting family in Leek, always enjoyed a warm welcome and enjoyed our numerous visits here.
Our recent visit was for a couple of nights from the 8th August, on arrival we were advised that our premium plus room was unavailable due to the whole oh the 3rd floor being damaged following the bad storm that had recently hit the UK.
While disappointed, the staff went the extra mile to accommodate us, we were reallocate a room, specifically with a walk in shower, we received a refund and complementary breakfast, we were also offered free parking, which we did not require as we had flown over from Northern Ireland.
In rather difficult circumstances , the team at the hotel were excellent and very helpful and we enjoyed a short but really nice stay. We will of course be visiting Leek again and will book here again, but thought I would supplement my previous review, by way of thanking all concerned for their efforts
- kateaV4434IW (2/5): Ridiculously hot room - Ridiculously hot room with no aircon and windows that don’t open.
No restaurant facilities at all with no prior notice of this.
We won’t be staying again.
- laurap57 (10/5): Lovely friendly staff. - A lovely stay with our friends, a great base for Alton Towers. Fabulous staff so friendly the gentleman with long curly hair especially x
- LucyJH (2/5): Avoid! - Very shabby and not up to usual Premier Inn standards! Pre- arrival I emailed several times to add an extra night to our booking due to train disruptions and got no response . Tried to call and the phone was never answered so I ended up booking another night on the website. The day before arrival we were emailed to say no breakfast due to roof repairs but too late to book elsewhere. When we arrived I advised had a 2 night stay which was fine and had to just get key card reactivated for the 2nd day but the room was not cleaned or bins emptied?! Very poor. Room was quiet apart from extra loud air con but shabby and needed painting in some areas. Avoid! Still waiting for refunds for breakfast too!
- 228duncana (2/5): Too hot to sleep - We have just spent two nights in the leek town centre premier inn.
The windows are sealed and there is no air conditioning. Suffice to say it was like sleeping in an oven both nights. We will not be going there again and will find alternative accommodation in the area.
The restaurant was also closed despite them sending us emails and discount vouchers. Not even open for breakfast.
But the main problem was the temperature of the room. In my opinion a design fault.
- Procky05 (10/5): Definitely recommend - Staff were first class and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was very good with a great selection.
Been there on numerous occasions and never had a bad stay
Sammy was great and very friendly and helpful
Don’t know the names of the rest of the staff but I will make a point of remembering them as they were all brilliant
Definitely recommend
Only thing wrong was the bar shut at 9 pm on the Saturday but I had had a long day already and at my age was ready for bed 😂
- 34stuw (4/5): Leek travel lodge - Arrived to be told there was ongoing work within the hotel as the roof had blown off 10 days previous. The breakfast we had booked was cancelled and the smell in the corridors was of a damp nature. Also, if that wasn't enough, the air con didn't work and the windows were non opening so the room was stuffy after a nights sleep. The staff were friendly and could only offer us free parking as compensation. Just wish we had been told of the inconvenience so we could of booked elsewhere.
- RachCY1980 (10/5): Brilliant management of severe food allergies - Welcoming staff, lovely room in hotel. The most outstanding quality was the management of my son's severe food allergies in the restaurant. Karen was exceptional at ensuring his food was safe, his meal was delicious and his experience was extremely positive. Many thanks
- Tominamo (10/5): Very enjoyable stay in Birstall, Leeds - We stayed at the premier inn whilst joining friends for the weekend.
Check in was smooth enough after registering the car for the duration of the stay.
The room was clean and comfortable.
We recently stayed at a five star hotel and the breakfast didn't come close to this hotel 10/10.
- Bed4ordblue (2/5): Charged me for meals that were not available as kitchen was closed - Charged me for meals that were not available as kitchen was closed. Was told that kitchen was closed days before booking but was still charged for meals.
- Teddydog1706 (10/5): Leek - The bed is comfy, all areas clean and nothing is a problem for the helpful staff, especially as we were flooding out. And had to be found other accommodation.
- T609OKcarolinew (8/5): Overnight stay - Room was very comfortable and lovely bed. Loved the air conditioning as weather hot. Due to issues in the hotel no hot breakfast available but continental breakfast supplied free of charge . Staff very friendly and happy to.help with any issues and loved late check out which was ideal for our stay
- R5163CRjulieh (10/5): Fabulous stay - My husband and I had an overnight stay at Premier inn Leek, and having not the best start to the day we were greeted by Mark the manager. He was kind, understanding and professional without being too formal. He quickly sorted our room which was perfect for an overnight stay. When we returned to the hotel we had drinks in the bar, with again good service. After a good night's sleep we took advantage of the complimentary breakfast which was fab, and Mark was on duty as we checked out, and asked us if we had enjoyed the wedding we attended. A very good experience from arrival to leaving and a big thank you to all the staff (particularly Mark and we hope your car gets sorted!).
- F103UDcarolinef (4/5): A surprisingly unpleasant visit - After reading the reviews on here with regard to friendly staff, we were very surprised with our checking in experience yesterday.
We had booked an early check in - the staff member on reception didn’t greet us and after appearing to struggle with the computer system, lost her temper, snapped at us and stormed off.
Another staff member took over, and once again didn’t greet us. I asked him if he was the manager - he said he was. We were fairly stunned by the previous staff members loss of temper and I said that I expected an apology from someone. The manager neither acknowledged that there had been a problem or apologised for it- he simply said that he was going to check us in.
No one spoke to us about the incident and the staff member who initially dealt with us was present at our breakfast and check out yet never spoke to us.
We had booked breakfast but were informed prior to our visit that no cooked food would be available.
All in all an unnecessarily unpleasant start to our nights stay, with a very poor response from the manager.
The hotel had a generally unpleasant damp smell in the stairwells and corridors and the air vent in the room was filthy- see photo.
The bed appeared clean.
- josephlM5200ZB (2/5): Awful stay away - Zero , I have never experienced such appalling service in a hotel , the lady on the bar was very clearly struggling with poor IT equipment, the manager gave no care , would help with 1 . Walk away and leave her with issues with the rest of the queue , completely inadequate, no access to the beer garden from the bar , having to walk back round through the car park to access grubby tables when it is hot outside , rundown grubby hotel with even more run down staff , disgusting. Stay away
- ScotchMist2012 (2/5): Worst Premier Inn ever. Avoid. - When we arrived the place looked deserted. We got checked in and proceeded to our room on the first floor. The whole place looked grubby as we walked the corridors. Once inside our room we were disappointed. We should have left then but we had pre paid so we were stuck there. Everything was well worn and the armchair impossible to sit in comfortably. The shower had no power and the toilet was difficult to flush. We ate out in the evening as the onsite restaurant looked closed even though reception tried to get us to book. We slept reasonably well and went for breakfast. Nowhere near the experience we've enjoyed at Premier Inns for years. We ordered our full English and whilst we waited tried to toast some bread. The toaster didn't work. The breakfast was disappointing and only luke warm. I asked for some extra bacon and it came on a plate that was so hot, the waitress carried it with the sleeves of her jacket. So much for food hygiene! The best part was the bacon was cold. We went and packed and couldn't get out fast enough. It's put us off Premier Inn if this is their standard. As for the glowing reviews we read, I think the staff wrote them themselves! The whole place looked like it was preparing to close down and perhaps that would be for the best.
- 380sharynl (10/5): A little gem with amazing staff in a lovely location! - We were greeted and checked in to this fabulous little Premier Inn by a lovely lady called Lauren, her customer service skills were impeccable, she went above and beyond. We sat in the little restaurant with our kids and the chef Makka cooked us a steak, he delivered it to the table with a smile and was very pleasant . It was cooked to perfection. The staff here really deserve recognition ! Room was spacious and spotless. Would definitely return to this hotel if we visit Alton Towers again. Must also mention the fact that it’s based in a lovely little town with ample parking !
- O5703GHsarahg (10/5): Above and beyond - Our whole experience was fantastic. From the cleanliness to the food. The breakfast staff was amazing. Went above and beyond to make sure our stay there was perfect. Best hospitality staff I've come across in a long time.e
- KatieW2958 (10/5): Karen and Molly. - Karen and Molly were both absolute delights. They could not have been more helpful. Friendly, efficient and extremely pleasant. They both deserve a pay rise.
- 696katye (2/5): I would 100% NOT recommend this place to anyone. - The room was spacious, clean and quiet.
The food in the restaurant was disgusting. I was asked how I wanted the steak, I said well done. It came very rare and with blood all over the plate and other food. I sent it back and all the chef did was cremate the same piece of meat and put it back on the same plate of food. The whole meal was inedible. The cooked breakfast was cold, congealed and over cooked. The continental selections were poor and the bakery items and bread were stale.
