Guest Reviews
- Z4899YYsusanh (8/5): A bit cold and noisy - Good option to stay in guildford not too far from the centre is a noisy hotel with lots of guest and road noise.
But clean comfort and good lication
- SamTownLiving (4/5): Not pleasant - Cold shower, dirty toilet. Room looking a bit tired with wood veneer coming off doors and evidence of flooding in the bathroom. Right by main road. Would not recommend, although it was cheap. I would prefer to pay more for cleanliness and a hot shower.
- Tourist67936501935 (10/5): Clean and comfortable! - We have just returned from a 2 night stay - we found the room to be spotlessly clean and the bed lovely and comfortable. All the staff are frendly and helpful. We had a lovely meal in the Beefeater restaurant and the breakfast was good with plenty of variety. We used the car park next to the hotel which was easy to use and the city centre is only a few minutes walk away. This is one of the nicest Premiers we've stayed in as a few others we've stayed in lacked enough staff and were a little shabby.
- Road48340013631 (10/5): Excellent choice for a town centre getaway - Great stay at the premier inn a very good location and the parking was easy to book and very convenient the room was spacious clean and comfortable we had breakfast that was cooked to order rather than out on a buffet I found it much better and good value
- Y4180HRleanner (10/5): Highly recommend this hotel - I have been using Premier Inn Guildford for past 6 years since moving away. I always come back to visit friends and this is the only hotel I will use in the Surrey area. The staff are so friendly and helpful every single visit, they go above and beyond to make sure everything is catered for. Rooms are always big and clean. Great location with a 10/15 min walk into town centre. Will continue to stay at this hotel in my next upcoming trips.
- 587edelm (10/5): On business geart - This is a great wee hotel, I'm over on business most weeks and the staff look after me. Sonia in an assist to the hotel, extremely professional.
- CLC1000 (6/5): Comfortable beds, great location but restaurant let it down. - Hotel is in a great location for the town centre with a good car park next door. Room was nice enough and bed comfortable. Staff were very friendly and hard working.
2 things let down this stay:
1. Our allocated room hadn’t been cleaned with bedsheets on the floor and rubbish all over. Had to go back to reception and get another room.
2. Beefeater restaurant. Tried to eat here on the evening but were told 2 big groups had arrived and food would be 30-45 mins. We were on a tight schedule so went elsewhere. Breakfast wasn’t the greatest experience. We were asked to book at table ahead which we did but it was so busy. Hot breakfast is cooked to order and we were waiting about 30 minutes for it. The coffee machine was broken and the queue for the continental section was long. If the items could be rearranged it would help as the queue was due to people waiting for toast. Food was ok.
- Wanderer03470438711 (6/5): Satisfactory for an overnight stay - Stayed overnight as was working nearby. I would normally opt for a boutique hotel, but availability was limited. It was fine for an overnight stay, but definitely missed the homely touches and unique interiors you get with a boutique hotel.
- P5628YWrobertt (10/5): Premier Stay - We walked from railway station via nearby Piece Hall which didn't take long. Great location next to excellent bus station and easy stroll to main shopping area.
Usual high quality PI. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Appeared to enjoy working there. We had to floor corner room 515 which was very roomy with great view. Second corner room we have had and will try again next time.
Breakfast is cooked to order rather than usual self service. It was excellent. One of best we have had in a PI and we have had many. Special shout out to our server Samantha who was efficient and cheery. Great way to start the day!
Highly recommend restaurant a minutes walk across the road. Ricci's Place great place to dine. Food excellent and good price. Best to book.
Also visit Bankside museum. Fantastic military exhibits. Fashion exhibitions upstairs is a must see especially Gentleman Jack.costumes. Catch 22 bus at bus station and only 3 stops. You can walk back down the hill to town in 10 minutes!
- mikelB3451OX (4/5): Clean up ! - Comfortable bed, premier pluss room but cleanliness was an issue, room very grubby and dusty soaps where empty and soap was stagnant. Food in restaurant was ok.
- pathO6427GL (10/5): Great location - Great location. Oliver on reception really helpful and welcoming . All staff we came across very well mannered and helpful.
- CherylB1121 (4/5): Convenient stopover for visiting Halifax Town centre - Convenient location, basic facilities. Overpriced when you factor in added costs such as parking, WiFi, and breakfast.
- 170jamilaq (4/5): Will not b going there again - Offsite parking which was inconvenient,
Furniture needed updating
Carpet was not clean
No shampoo in the bathroom
No iron
- 885PeterR (10/5): A centrally located venue for a family reunion - We had a family reunion in Halifax since we (me and six siblings) all attended school in the area in the 1950s and 60s and Halifax is also fairly centrally located in the UK, more or less midway between north-east Scotland and south-west England, the farthest-flung localities where members live. Not perhaps easy to access by car when there are problems on the roads but equally inconvenient for everyone so no complaints. The hotel is centrally located in the town, car parking is convenient and the staff were EXTREMELY helpful and very friendly. We cannot commend them highly enough. We stayed for four nights and would happily stay again.
- PeterLink (6/5): Modern check-in but no USB charging - I am not keen on the self check-in but it went OK, just wondering if there is any staff on site, couldn't tell. There is no USB charging socket in the room. TV seems cheap and remote not very responsive.
- dominiclD5274TO (4/5): Not the best visit to a Premier Inn - Always an easy check in at this hotel easy to follow instructions and receive my room card however that’s where the positives stop, booked in on the first floor and the corridor smells like a wet sports changing room, located my room and the size was good and Facilities’s ok however the bed mattress was also terrible maybe they have sold all of their sleep quality ones online, breakfast in the morning was nice but overall stay was dampened by the horrendous smell
- Sightsee776623 (10/5): VIP experience, everyone should treat themselves - I had star treatment. I wish I'd stayed longer. Top service and quality of hotel, location, room was very high standard. As a solo attendee it was also great to feel safe.
- C9721JJlorrainem (10/5): Another great stay at a Premier Inn - Fantastic staff, Fran on reception, Steven in restaurant and chef excellent, best poached eggs I’ve had. Can’t wait till next time I visit.
- sedemg2024 (10/5): Splendid - Nice staff, clean room, nice breakfast, easy access to transportation and shopping Center, comfortable bed, easy to locate
- 332valerief (2/5): Two day and night break with relatives ruined. - Our trip, three sisters and our husbands, was ruined. We had especially booked to meet at the PI Halifax since it had a wet room with accessibility for someone in a wheel chair. However on arrival, it was not available, my relatives had not been forewarned and meant that they were seriously inconvenienced and only stayed one night. The Receptionist was not apologetic and made no effort to find alternative accommodation. She certainly needs to have training on how to deal with issues.
- ktJ899IA (2/5): Needs a good clean & redecorating - Unfortunately this hotel was not to the normal Premier Inn standard.
The room was not the cleanest, bathroom & around the bed needed more thorough clean.
Very noisy hotel.
Not enough towles & pillows. Or refreshmemts.
Bathroom condiments also lacking & tipped up with water.
Very disappointing.
- 576deanp (10/5): Visiting family. - We stayed here for four days all the way from Bolton to see elderly members of the family. Can I just say how amazing all the staff were with us knowing that we had three family members of which were very elderly. We had evening meals every night of which we enjoyed, and Matt was brilliant.
- P3977EUSM (10/5): Premier Inn Halifax town centre - Stay in this premier inn regularly for business, and is always clean and welcoming. The staff are always friendly and available. Breakfast experience is great, Sam is always very welcoming and kind - great service.
- Pathfinder545562 (8/5): Smiths on tour - Up to its usual good standard
Didn’t use breakfast facilities but had a meal at beefeater.
Just a few problems. Lack of cups in a family room. Also those we had were glass and no good around small children. Only one seat in a family room was not good.
Otherwise comfort was fine
- lynnep324 (2/5): AVOID - AVOID room smelt damp and bedding was damp literally walked in and out and asked for a refund on the plus side cannot fault the lady on reception . Checked in to a Travel Lodge it was cheaper and 100% better lesson learnt never again will I stay at a Premier Inn
- ashleysG3554EM (2/5): Not happy - I asked a desabled access bathroom but got a bath, and I fell a few times in a lot of pain not happy, and the cost was ridiculous
- johnhR9658GY (10/5): Last minute booking, nothing was too much trouble - Good value. Friendly service from all staff. Would stay there again. Food at breakfast was cooked fresh and plenty of it.
- Renot (10/5): Highly recommended - Fantastic stay in The Premier Inn. Great location for a gig in The Piece Hall. Room was spotless, staff were very friendly. Unlimited cooked breakfast was very tasty and reasonably priced. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
- Rmsse (8/5): Well positioned , clean hotel - Nice hotel, well positioned, clean rooms friendly staff. Good breakfast .
This is a friendly hotel, where you can relax and get on with your stay without hassle.
- sagsSouthWales (8/5): Perfect for our trip - Great location, easy parking although most spaces are a little way from reception, friendly reception staff, Premier Plus rooms very well appointed.
- carolinesN7983IB (8/5): Good stay - The hotel and room was spot on couldn't fault but there was not enough cups but we managed the breakfast wasn't the best so I wouldn't order that but I would stay in the premier inn
- ruthgY1544ZC (8/5): Being flexible when able to - I was with my elderly mother for a family wedding and due to miscommunication, I had to extend our visit so had 2 bookings for accessible room, first half with lowered bath and original later booking wet room which is what i wanted. The wet room had become available when we checked in, so the receptionist changed the booking, so we were in the same room throughout the stay with a wet room
- natalieclaira (10/5): Will continue to visit - A good stay just outside of central Guildford, comfortable beds, easy parking, good breakfast. Will come again. Thanks!
- 949mauricer (10/5): Perfect base for exploring NT properties - This hotel was perfect for our visits to nearby National Trust properties. Our overnight stay was very comfortable - the room and ensuite were clean, well-maintained and cozy. The members of staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, offering detailed advice and recommendations on where to eat, how to get to the town centre and which sights were worth visiting. We had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to returning.
- Atsushi (2/5): - I paid through Expedia.
However, Expedia said that they did not receive the payment, and the hotel also asked me to pay for the accommodation.
I paid twice. I am very dissatisfied.
- Mbhatia174 (8/5): Nice stay except for... - Comfortable room but sadly dirty underwear from previous occupants of our room was left. All reception did was apologise and said they'll tell housekeeping.
- Lindyann2013 (8/5): One night stay - We booked here while we were at a conference in Woking, staff were friendly, we had a premier plus room, the room was really quiet, the air con worked and was very welcome as we travelled here on the hottest day of the year so far.
Plenty of parking and a beefeater right next door.
- Geraldine57307 (10/5): Fabulous - From check in to departure we had a wonderful stay. Down to see family. Dory checked us in and we had the most wonderful quiet room.
Hottest day of the year, we were cool as cucumbers.
As a birthday treat for my husband we had treats in the room. A really special touch by a friendly team.
My only downturn was the service in the beefeater which was by no means the hotels fault.
Loved our stay. Be back in September and a massive shout out to Dory and team.
They are your amazing assets.
Thank you to all the team xxx
- Ambassador249011 (10/5): Friendly front desk staff - The hotel exceeded my expectations. Dory at the front desk was exceptionally friendly. A smile to welcome me after a long day. She booked me and arranged a table at the restaurant next door. The room and bathroom was very clean. The restaurant menu on the desk to Peru with a cup of coffee before heading down to eat. I had a good night sleep in the comfortable bed ready for the day ahead. I would definitely stay there again.
- AlexW2371 (10/5): Kindest receptionist ever! - Kindest, friendliest receptionist ever greeted me last night. After I realised that I had forgotten my phone charging lead and my phone was dead she lent me one! Amazing service. Thanks so much. I think her name was Claire but I was a little tipsy after returning from the IOW Festival so apologies if I have your name wrong.
Slept for 10 hours straight on extremely comfy mattress. Needed it after a festival. Lovely shower this morning so I feel like a girl again.
- blackies11 (6/5): Dirty bar area and disappointing breakfast. Noisy traffic. - Almost the worst Premier Inn (PI) we have stayed in. Despite a very warm welcome from reception, we could immediately tell this Premier Inn was tired. Our room was standard PI, but somehow it felt dirty and dingy with dirty net curtains. Bed was clean but pillows were like rocks. The water didn't drain from the sink which was annoying us trying to use between two people getting ready. This PI is on a dual carriage way and so expect heavy traffic noise if you need your window open when the room get stuffy. Bring earplugs.
The bar was quite a shock with the smell of dirty carpets and upholstery. Filty chairs and it all needs to be professionally cleaned. We had to sit outside due to the smell.
The famous Premier Inn breakfast was also a big disappointment with rubber fried eggs cooked with no care at all, dried up mushrooms which I was told 'were fresh out of the oven', tomatoes not cooked enough so they were hard and bacon cooked in a lump so it was difficult to separate and self serve. The male chef was surley and the female waitress looked very unhappy. We only ate there once in a 3 night stay and we drank elsewhere, too.
We wouldn't stay here again and we wouldn't recommend this Premier Inn unfortunately, not unless it all undergoes a good clean and a chef who takes pride in the breakfasts.
