Guest Reviews
- syreeneh2025 (2/5): Terrible nights sleep - Room underwhelming for the price. Beds extremely uncomfortable. All I could have accepted however the extremely noisy radiator that shrieked everytime time it attempted to warm the room meant I didn't sleep until I turned it off and slept in the cold. Not acceptable. Would've complained immediately but the children were already asleep. When I did complain in the morning the most the staff member could offer me was to tell me that the place was falling apart. Had never stayed in a Premier Inn before and now reluctant to do so again. Save yourself £100+ and stay in different chain in Huddersfield.
- traceywL9265OL (4/5): So disappointed - As a very frequent user of premier inns all over England and Wales I am afraid to say this premier inn has to be the worst I’ve stayed in, from walking into our room into what I could only describe as a store cupboard made into a room, room 205, the room just was not the usual premier inn standard, messy made bed, pillows way too small for the pillow cases, the pubic hairs on the side of the bath, the lack of sleep from the heating keep clicking on and off every 10 minutes, to which at 4am I had to switch it completely off which left us having to sleep in a freezing cold room, the confusion over breakfast, which I asked twice about and still wasn’t resolved the next morning at breakfast, we stay in a premier at least 4-5 times a year and after travelling for 4 hours and paying £104 for just 1 night, I was so so disappointed
- Q3901HWgavinh (6/5): More 'Inn' than 'Premier' - The receptionist Latifah who was on duty when we checked in was exceptionally helpful, friendly and patient. The breakfast staff were also friendly and efficient, and the breakfast was satisfactory. The room we stayed in was adequately comfortable, and a reasonable size.
Now for the bits that are less than 'Premier'.
It didn't help that we arrived in the dark, in pouring rain. The parking directly outside the entrance to reception is not well lit, or well drained. A mixed blessing because it meant that there was an open parking space where others had avoided parking becaus of the substantial puddle. The exterior of the building looks a bit gloomy and institutional in conditions like these.
The room looked like there were areas that needed a deep clean and some redecorating. Areas like the air extractor grills in the bathroom, around the drainhole of the basin, looked like they needed more than just a quick wipe. The bathroom floor linoleum was cracked, skirting boards and joinery looked like a home DIY job. Granted that it's an old building, but the random and intermittent noises from what I assume is the plumbing were not an aid to restful sleep. Family who stayed on a different floor reported the same issue.
A full king size bed or a conventional twin bed with two matching full single beds would also have enhanced the facilities, or at least brought them up to the same as most of the other Inns I have stayed at.
Overall, it was fine, because we were there for one night, so that we didn't need to drive home after a funeral. But I wouldn't recommend it as a leisure destination.
On the plus side again, the staff in general were very friendly and helpful and I am sure do their best in what amounts to a sub-par facility, but then it's clearly never going to be as easy to manage as a new purpose-built premises.
- 702vitaj (10/5): Holiday at Horsham, UK - The room was very nice, clean, big enough for two people. The hotel is in a very good location, in the city center. The hotel has an elevator and a dining area. There are many bars, cafeterias, a shopping center, other shops nearby. The train station is 10 minutes walk from the hotel. It would be nice if breakfast was included by default, without having to buy it separately. The room reservation fee per night was high enough to include such a bonus.
- Departure53249287661 (10/5): Band on tour - Courteous hospitable staff. Very helpful. In particular, Carly on reception very helpful indeed.
Excellent breakfast. Room up to premier standards. Nice setting.
- SarahTommyDion (10/5): Lovely Staff and a Great Experience - I stayed there for two nights, and as soon as I arrived, the place looked beautiful. I was excited to go in, and I couldn’t find anything to complain about. All of the staff were lovely, and the breakfast was hot and delicious.
I would definitely love to go back again.
- KBARRY12 (10/5): Great repeat stay. - Great hotel, always a great stay really nice staff , comfortable clean rooms , always a good atmosphere at this hotel. Always a pleasurable stay , thank you.
- patriciasR7376LH (6/5): Inaccessible shower in Accessible room!! - Accessible room.
Positives -
Good location.
Extremely quiet and clean.
Large, spacious room
Great mattress & pillows
Call alarm close by
Lots of tea/coffee available
Breakfast room close by.
Good Breakfast choices
Few negatives
Glum decor..... browns mainly in room, better in dining room.
No mirror over dressing table as mainly set up as a workstation with various sockets.
There is mirror behind door with hairdryer but poor lighting & have to carry a chair over to to use it..... so didnt!
Glass cups....not welcoming for a cuppa.
Bath/shower room.
Not a wet or shower room but a shower over low bath. Couldn't use shower as not safe enough for me.
Handrails in weird places....... not help to get in / over bath or stand & shower safely without one. No seat, got to stand or sit in a low bath.
Loo & washbasin OK.
- 841beverleyf (10/5): Exceptional experience as usual - We came with friends to stay over for my husband’s 60th birthday. From booking in to leaving the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable as was ever area of the hotel. Breakfast was very tasty and they even went to the trouble of putting a birthday banner up and giving my husband a card and chocolates. 10/10 we have stayed here before and will definitely be back
- 582sheridanc (10/5): Lovely getaway - Stayed for a weekend with partner ,the hotel looks over a lovely river at the back . The hotel receptionist on arrival was friendly and helpful, when we got to our room it was fresh and clean just as expected the hk team do a really goid job . The breakfast was a all you can eat and the continental side is help yourself while the cooked is cooked fresh to order which was lovely 😋. I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone staying in the area .
- ohninsa (10/5): Self service hotel - Everything is self-serviced. from check in to check out. Unless yo want to wait a bit, you can wait for a hotel staff at the front desk. They have lack of manpower, but everything is in order. Might not be a place for inpatient guests. But i will definitely consider staying there again.
As all other reviews said before, free wifi is super slow.
- wendyv839 (8/5): Great value for money - Stayed here for one night with my husband. Great location right in the town centre
First impressions were good. Great welcome and the room was spacious, clean and advanced very comfy bed as you'd expect and lovely pillows.
Clean bathroom and plenty of towels.
Only one criticism. The bath was very deep. I am quite short and really struggled to get in and out to use the overhead shower.
Breakfast was fine. Plenty of choice with cereal, fruit and pastries plus the usual hot options. All was very fresh.
Overall, this hotel is great value for money and does exactly what it says on the tin
Would have no problem recommending to others.
- 71Jon (10/5): Lovely stay - Large, tasteful and very clean, room. Very friendly and capable staff at breakfast and reception. Keycard worked flawlessly throughout my stay.
Restaurant room had natural lighting and without many guests during breakfast, I had a lovely view outside during breakfast.
Generally, no effort required to enjoy my stay.
- Dallasworldtraveler (8/5): Great Location, No-Frills Hotel - Stayed here for a quick city getaway and couldn’t beat the central location—everything was within walking distance! The price was definitely budget-friendly, and compared to other standard hotels in the area, the room was surprisingly spacious. It was clean and comfortable, perfect for resting after a day out. There is a restaurant, but with so many interesting pubs and restaurants in the area, we went out for meals.
There are some trade-offs to keep in mind: the hotel seemed understaffed, there was no phone in the room to reach the front desk, and no room service available. Also, the tub was a bit high to climb into—if you have mobility issues, it’s worth requesting an accessible room.
Overall, you get what you pay for, and if you’re looking for space, location, and value over full service, this is a solid choice.
- Quest275297 (10/5): Home away from home - A wonderful experience! Kirsty, at the desk, attended to our every need. Lisa, in the dining room, took care of us like we were family. Highly recommend a stay here.
- SauravKaushik (10/5): It's been very good experience overall. - Carly and Kirsty were both exceptional, always greeting people with a smile and going above and beyond for us. Thank you to you both.
- L1818TKjoyces (10/5): Great experience at Premier Inn North - We arrived after our booked accommodation turned out to be a disaster and we met with Kirsty at the reception desk. To say she went above and beyond is an understatement. Lisa in the breakfast room was a gem and we felt we had known each other for years. Room clean and comfy, breakfast had great choices and we would stay again. Also close to family in Mirfield which was a bonus.
- trishd848 (10/5): Great stay - Stayed when visiting family at bank holiday. Room was immaculately clean and the bed so comfy. Staff really friendly and professional. Breakfast was freshly cooked with a great selection. The water fountain in reception has glass glasses not plastic and the water was Ice cold, very welcome on a hot day after hours in the car. Will be back again next time we see family.
- waynenX7915LM (8/5): Sleep well - A very very nice sleep, very comfortable, stayed here numerous time's, unfortunately slept that well I missed breakfast!!
- Vacation61179440405 (4/5): Cold welcome and failed to accomodate our needs. - We arrived at Huddersfield north premier inn at 10pm on friday the 15th of august. On arrival we were met by a man who seemed bitter. No welcome. He wouldn't make eye contact and then when asked for something he was abrubt and a little ignorant. I informed him that i was staying with my 17 year old son and asked if we could have 2 single duvets instead of the double douvet that was on the bed. I understand i had booked a double room in error and that was of no fault of this man, yet a simple request to swap the double duvet for 2 singles was met with an obnoxious reply of "that's not what you paid for" and then when i said i had made a mistake when booking i was treat with a firm "no". We travel the country regular for my sons boxing and have never been met with such disregard from premier inns before. I feel this man is not suitable to represent front of house for such a large hotel chain and we may be booking elsewhere in future.
The positive is the house staff in the morning were lovely and the breakfast was spot on. So that is why i gave 2 stars.
- meganoK4835UC (6/5): Pay cheap get cheap - Check in was easy and the room was clean but there’s so many simple things that need fixing.
The shower head doesn’t stay up so you have to hold it the whole time.
The air con doesn’t work (this has been the case both times I’ve stayed at this hotel).
There were two of us in a room but we were only provided one towel.
- Buffaloswife (10/5): Stay Often, Great Location - Great location, comfortable beds, lovely staff. We stay here every time we visit Horsham, which is quite often. The rooms are comfortable for 2 of us and we even had our daughter and 3 grand children with us once and they have a comfortable family room as well. They enjoyed breakfast when they stayed as well.
- O7967VPandyg (4/5): Another disappointing stay - We stayed here on the way to and from our holiday in Belgium as the Channel ports are 7 hours+ from home. On the way out, the air-con in the room wasn't working, and neither was it on the way back. It would appear that there are issues with the air-con on the second floor as rooms 202, 203, and 205 all had air-con that didn't work. It was 24° outside, and as the rooms have non-opening windows, it was like trying to sleep in a greenhouse. Extra fans were offered but all these did was circulate the hot, stuffy air around the room.
- jackcl2000 (8/5): :) - A very pleasant stay. Tidy rooms which all had a fan in upon arrival, friendly staff at check in, and a quiet stay.
Breakfast slightly confusing- expecting a buffet type as it’s sold as ‘unlimited’, but have to order what you would like through a server. Then you don’t see anyone to request more food, but the food was tasty nonetheless.
Would definitely stay again!
- 618paule (10/5): - Stayed at the Premier Huddersfield North as it was very close to Mirfield, the hotel staff are friendly, proffesional and accommodating and nothing was to much trouble for them.
Breakfast was waitress service and presented perfectly and abundantly by Lisa who again was friendly efficient and welcoming..
One of the nicest Premiers I have stayed in.
- T2518ZGsimond (6/5): Don't stay here in a heatwave - Let's start with the good points. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the room had a couple of decent powered fans in it. The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.
Now the negative points. Don't stay in this hotel during a heatwave. The windows are tiny, stuck in a corner and, as with many hotels, barely open. According to the hotel room thermostat, the air temperature in the room was 28 degrees, which dropped 1 degree over night. There is no air conditioning (this was made clear at the time of booking).
The nearest powerpoint to the bed was on the opposite side of the room. The shape of our room was such that this was further away than in most Premier Inns I've stayed in, which meant that we did not get as much benefit from the fans as you might expect. It also meant that it was impossible to have a phone on charge alongside the bed.
I know that some of Premier Inns hotel stock is older, but in a world with increasingly warm summers, you really need to look at better cooling. The staff provided sheets to replace the duvet and the fans did make some difference, but this is a place to be avoided in a heatwave.
- philipbD26PD (10/5): Usual Premier experience. Not stayed in a bad one yet. - Excellent hotel, great pub next door with good options for lunch and dinner. Clean room as expected
Breakfast room comfortable
- Travel734861 (10/5): Great place to stay - This is my go to place to visit. The hotel is super clean, the manager - Oussama is friendly, helpful and generous. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and its centrally located near restaurants, supermarkets and bars.
- Winclouduk (10/5): Great staff shame about the parent company - The staff are amazing and work too hard than they should for a chain that doesn’t respect them.
Breakfast was good and rooms was clean. Love the vegan sausages .
Restaurant was closed but we were informed just like the previous review by j f who said they weren’t when I know they were via email. So ignore what the previous reviewer put as they don’t bother to check before they arrive.
There is no air con as it mentions when you book but there is a lift.
- Vacation03846670143 (10/5): Really enjoyed staying at the hotel - My parents stayed in a hotel for 5 nights. They were happy with a room, bed, facilities. Very quiet despite the hotel is situated in a town centre. They loved food served at breakfast time. Staff was kind and polite. They rally enjoyed staying at Premier Inn.
- NCStace (10/5): Perfect place - Perfect location. We stayed just one night had a lovely big room. Very hot day room was a little hot but it would be at home too! A little noisy as we were on the front and music playing until late but it didn’t bother us too much. Lovely bars and restaurants in the area just on the doorstep. I need a reason to come back here as it was so nice
- K250UBruthb (6/5): Could be better - A 2 night stay. The bed was comfortable. But the room was very hot and no opening windows, it smelt stale. The air con does not go below 19C. The staff gave me a fan for my second night, but it did not help and was noisy.
Breakfast was ok, though both black pudding and bacon were dry and overcooked. The sliced bread is cheap and has no flavour.
The hotel is close to town and good restaurants but on Saturday night the bars are noisy and on Sunday morning lots of broken bottles on the pavement.
- 77lyf (4/5): Doubt I'll use it again, but heard that it is better than the one by the station - Curtain rail fell off when I tried to look out the net curtains. Shower didn't seem to be able to maintain a warm temp - flicked between hot and cold. WiFi was slow, extra money for a good connection.
A third of the price of the room to check in 'early' (11am) seemed like a lot but probably worth it, however would've rathered not had to pay so now I know that is a thing it'll move me towards staying at a more personal bnb in the future where that probably isn't a rule
- kez279 (4/5): It’s a shame . - Restaurant poor quality food, not hot and expensive.
Rooms not enough towels and when requested they were produced from under the bottom of the receptionist!
Car park although not owned by premier inn very expensive and electric charges are only for business contracted use .
Issues with the room keys as the key machine was playing up so it took a while for them to work and we only got 1.
- fionasP1958NZ (8/5): Location location location! - Great location, great beds, tired room. For a flying visit to Horsham you can't beat this hotel for location, good price too. The curtains were ripped and hanging off the rail, only real negative. We only slept there as we were meeting friends for dinner, so many places to eat & drink in Horsham. The "M" bar is not to be missed.
- 120sadiqj (8/5): Travelling to See a Friend - The beds and the pillows are MAGNIFICENT.
Ideal location basically in the heart of Horsham with plenty of food places and bars.
The staff were reasonable and the Hotel was close to all amenities.
I was close enough to where I needed to be so i could either walk or take public transport.
- MargaretW611 (10/5): Excellent value - Clean quiet room (327). Had a great night’s sleep. Very reasonable price for a central location. Car park just across the street. We opted for a continental breakfast which was very good and quite sufficient for our needs. The full breakfast also looked good. Could not fault this hotel.
- chrislX3777ZR (4/5): Very poor example of a Premier Inn - Arrived and reception was chaotic finally got to the front and paid for the room which was clean and comfy having stayed at several Premier inns before I had the meal deal as well. I have never been so underwhelmed by a menu with so little choice 3 starters (one which was chips) and was on most of the main courses I decided to have the fish and chips the fish was cold and soggy. And I have seen bigger fish fingers. I decided to just leave the food and went for a Indian instead guess it’s my fault for not checking the menu first as every Premier Inn I had been to before had a large selection
- dexter41 (10/5): Excellent central location and quiet - It's in the centre of the town, next to a few restaurants and a Starbucks so it's handy,
It doesn't have carpark but there is a multi storey literally less than a 1 minute walk away at
Piries Place Car Park. It felt safe~well lit, but height restricted and it's around £11 for 24hrs pay on exit.
The hotel has a lift and 4 floors so it's quiet from outside noise.
Breakfast ~ was the usual cheap rapeseed oil drenched cooked and sugar filled cereals.
They have one 4 slot toaster for everyone....so it's a queue to get any toast. (Especially annoying when people leave their children to hog it!)
- Rory_Ferguson (8/5): Great location and soo comfortable - Great place just outside of the bar areas but very well sound proofed. Comfortable and modern perfect for a birthday celebration with friends when you just need a place to sleep close to the restaurants and bars so no need for an uber when it’s time for bed
