Guest Reviews
- 376gashawa (10/5): Very nice place - Sophie and Jodie were nice and helpful in the reception, the rooms were clean and I didn't see any hairs. The places is close to a beach.
- lloydbear2016 (2/5): Zero sleep.... and not for a good reason. - Very dissapointing. Grumpy reception staff.
One tea bag in the hot drinks tray.
Shower was luke warm.
Room was freezing cold upon arrival.
The temperature finally increased after 6 hrs in the middle of the night causing me to wake up in a sweat feeling sick.
The occupant above my room woke me almost every hour by stomping back and forth across their room...
Overall a terrible experience.
- dib784 (10/5): Great stay at this premier inn - We stayed for one night and will definitely be coming back to stay again. The staff were polite, friendly and welcoming and very helpful.
Our room was very clean and had everything we needed.
We had breakfast and the food was hot and very nice.
Would recommend this premier inn 100%
- SCcornwall (10/5): Brilliant facility walking distance of town - Friendly reception, rooms were ready and what we had requested(adjoining rooms on ground floor close to reception, one assisted for my mother who has limited mobility) help offered with our bags, information given on meal deals and help booking this as couldn’t do online. The rooms were clean and warm, beds as usual very comfortable. Eating in was ideal on first night after a long journey. Breakfast plentiful and very good. Staff were all pleasant and helpful.
- christopherwk (2/5): A pleasant stay, only to be told off at breakfast, at the end. - Usual Premier Inn refinements, big comfortable bed, clean, plenty of space to move around, a good number of plug sockets, although there weren't any by the bed. Good location and easy to find by the main road, with a large and secure car park with plenty of space. £3/night parking was good value, considering the location and lack of free street parking nearby.
However, the experience went downhill at the very end, when I had breakfast in the adjoining pub. The breakfast itself was fine - had the full English, freshly cooked to order and hot etc.
I was told off, for putting a pain au chocolat in the toaster. Furthermore it wasn't just a small, quiet word, it was a condescending telling off, like I was naughty schoolchild in the middle of an almost packed dining area. Apparently I wasn't allowed to put a pain au chocolat in the toaster, as it was considered a fire risk (no, the pub didn't burn down that morning). There was no notice telling me, you can't put pain au chocolats in the toaster, only croissants weren't allowed (of which there were several notices saying so). One of the reasons saying why croissants weren't allowed, is because they couldn't fit. However, the pain au chocolats were not as tall as the croissants, and fitted fine, so I thought there wouldn't be a problem toasting it (and there wasn't any notices saying I couldn't).
The lady in question who scolded me, said they had similar ingredients, and the butter which is contained in them would burn. Which is true, though that wasn't the reason displayed on the notices why croissants weren't allowed to be toasted, as well as the fact that a pain au chocolat isn't a croissant, nor is it a type of croissant.
Now, the sign should specifically say "No croissants and pain au chocolats are allowed to be toasted", then it would be crystal clear. Or say, which items can be toasted.
I doubt management would see this or act upon this (i.e. amend the signs), or discuss this issue with the lady in question, but just be warned about what you can or can't be toasted, despite what the sign is saying, and expect to be mind readers.
I have yet to receive the usual follow up survey e-mail usually sent out after hotel stays, but when and if I do, I will of course be mentioning this grievance, which put an upsetting end to, what was otherwise a pleasant stay.
- StephenB4849 (10/5): Comfortable, hospitable & accessible shower room - 4 of us visiting friends in New Forest selected this Premier Inn staying for 2 nights . We booked one room for 2 elderly ladies on Ground Floor with walk in shower/wet room,. They separated the double bed into 2 singles. This was so they did not disturb one another when getting up during the night. One lady is 90 the other lin her 80’s The arrangement absolutely suited their needs.
We were also allocated a room on the Ground Floor to be near to them , a double which also had a single couch bed in the room.
We were made very welcome on arrival by the receptionists. Blue Badge parking adjacent to the entrance was most convenient ( but costing £3/night)
The accommodation is functional and clean ideal for our purposes , and the beds superbly comfortable as always.
Breakfast was served in an adjacent building. Help yourself to toast and coffee/tea etc. but the cooked breakfast was served to the table. So much better than having to collect from a servery. In addition a section of this building was open as a bar throughout the day with comfortable areas to sit and relax in with a coffee to chat, relax and watch large screen TV. This was Ideal as it was raining and gave us time to relax in comfort ( rather than in our room) before setting out later to visit our friends in the early afternoon .
Meal deal was good value for Breakfast and Supper at £26.99. Although there is a superb and highly recommended Fish & Chip shop just a few hundred yards along on the opposite side of the road.
Breakfast staff were friendly, very helpful, gave excellent service and very accommodating .
Interestingly the TV in the rooms had their volumes limited, so they did not disturb the adjacent room. The Air Con/Heating worked surprisingly well. Suggest this is also a great choice for families with children wanting to visit the seaside in the Summer. Would definitely come again when visiting the area.
- cally1284 (10/5): Couple of stays down at Christchurch. - Excellent hotel. Great location. We stay there when we have a show to see in Southampton. We love the walk down to the cliff tops. Great base for New Forest, Southampton and Bournemouth. Breakfast brilliant nad staff very friendly.
- 885dexterc (10/5): Clean hotel with great staff. - Stayed here on and off for about 3 years. Brilliant hotel. Location is perfect right in hitchin town centre. Rooms are always clean and comfy. Best of all the staff are amazing. Always smiling and helpful and special shout out to Claire who is always happy to help and a bundle of laughs- she's a real asset to the hotel. Always there to brighten up the day!
- 112gilliang (4/5): Lack of accomodation in Herne Bay. - We have stayed here previously and the standards have dropped considerably. The basic hotel items aren’t offered and was told they never have been. Very run down. Nowhere close by for average food, unless you have a car. Reasonable public transport due to a very large supermarket close by. Staff outside smoking, huge construction site next door. Didn’t eat there.
- rebeccamQ7929NL (2/5): Premier Inn Herne Bay - I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt this one was needed after our stay at the Herne Bay Hotel.
When we first arrived I was quite pleased. There were plenty of parking spaces and a Miller and Carter restaurant close by which was really handy. Things seemed promising at first.
At check-in the receptionist greeted us, though the welcome felt a little abrupt. The first thing we were asked was what time we’d be coming down for dinner as a time was needed straight away. After a two and a half hour drive with three children I just wanted to get to the room and settle everyone before deciding. I asked if I could call down later once we were ready and they said that was fine.
When we got to the room it looked clean at first glance but once we settled in we started to notice a few things. There were hair shavings around the sink and hairs on the bed linen. There was also no phone in the room to call down to reception.
We went downstairs and spoke to a member of staff, explaining about the hairs in the bathroom and on the bed. I asked if someone could please clean the bathroom as we could brush off the bedding ourselves. The staff member seemed concerned and said they’d find out who cleaned the room, but unfortunately nothing was done.
From then on the experience just didn’t feel the same. Most of the staff we met were friendly and professional and I do think they tried, but the lack of follow up and the cleanliness issue really took away from what could have been a lovely stay.
The location is great and very convenient for families but sadly based on our experience I wouldn’t go back.
- Nomad41239432145 (6/5): Not a seafront hotel - Went here October half term for 4 nights with my son. Firstly the hotel itself; Premier Inn standard which means you get what you paid for. Room was OK and clean, had a bath not just a shower, Wifi worked OK even the free wi-fi which hasn't always been the case in other hotels of this kind. The staff were very friendly always a "good morning" or "good afternoon". We didn't eat here so I can't comment on that but will say that the empty restaurant next door really needs to get opened again - I believe there were some issues with a McDonald's getting approval to open here. At present there is a canteen/cafe "The Social" and I'm sure they try their best but really this place needs an adjoining watering hole.
Now, for the location. It's right off the main road so easily accessible. Great. However, slap bang in a building site surrounded by an industrial estate - not so great. It does seem odd to have this hotel here not in a location obvious for anyone wanting to visit Herne Bay - there are no local big employers, Sainsbury's superstore and garage a stone's throw away so no problem with provisions but an awful long walk to town / the beach - about 30 minutes. There is a bus stop just round the corner opposite Miller and Carter's which you're welcome to visit if feeling extravagant otherwise food choices are extremely limited on foot - good chip shop on the junction at the top of the hill about 15 minutes walk but other than that town is your best bet.
So - hotel, OK except for the dining. Location, not so OK. When, surely not if, the adjacent restaurant opens again it will be an improvement
- 754charmainc (10/5): Very Clean quite hotel - Last minute stay due to a stressful week, lovely hotel clean room very quite on the third level . Reception lady was very friendly and did a quick check in, on staying in needed some cutlery and sauce and they staff was very helpful
- K2037TQhenryc (2/5): Nice hotel but 1 rude worker - Generally when I go to this hotel I have a very nice experience, most of the people that work there are all happy and welcoming. There was one lady which had a very bad attitude when I went for dinner.
Dinner was served until 10pm as seen when you walk in there. It was 8:30 and I have gone to ask for a table. When I asked she had a very bad attitude as she ‘had cleaned the whole kitchen out’ and said at first that she wouldn’t serve me. She then said maybe she could get me a pasta or something. I thought this was very rude and I was appalled the way she spoke to me as if I had come down at 10pm closing time when it was 8:30. She was probably having a bad day however shouldn’t be speaking to a customer like that. Nothing against the hotel would recommend, just a bad experience with a worker
- 176darrylm (10/5): Herne Bay - Highly recommended - Staff were brilliant. Breakfast was excellent. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was lovely. Recommend Herne Bay Premier for a stay.
- Nicolala7 (10/5): A great overnight experience and hard working staff. - We were greeted by friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. They multi tasked very efficiently covering reception, answering queries and serving in the restaurant.
We were very impressed with the food and particularly the lovely breakfast choices. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. A great shower and lots of hot water.
The one minor issue with the air con was soon resolved.
A great overnight experience.
- sarajanec361 (10/5): Happy to recommend the hotel at Herne Bay - Would recommend the Premier Inn at Herne Bay. The staff were all friendly, polite & helpful. The bed was really comfortable. The choice of food for breakfast was excellent.
- elenacZ406DP (10/5): Amazing customer service - I always go there when visiting Hitchin. Rooms are clean and nice and the bed is amazing.
Also the customer service is superb. Really attentive and helpful
- 182johnathons (10/5): Clean & Warm Stay - I’ve slept in cold keeps and wind-blown tents, but never somewhere so clean and warm. The service was honourable, swift, kind, and without fault. I know nothing… except that I’d stay here again. Many thanks!
- Traveller9909 (4/5): Poor - Have stayed with Premier Inn many times but wouldn’t stay here again. Greeted with indifference. Room small (only just room to lay 2 suitcases flat) and dark. One window catch broken so couldn’t open. Fittings in bathroom rusting. Whole place looks shabby inside and out.
You have to pay extra to park.
Went to eat in adjoining pub but (luckily) fully booked. As we sat in the reception area we could see how run down it was. Cloth seat covers really badly stained. Determined at that point not to breakfast there.
One member of staff (Ashley) was friendly and chatty.
- gards39 (2/5): Hotel is not secure. Rooms opened and left open - Room was opened whilst out and left wide open. My son went out and shut the door, when he returned a couple of hours later the door was wide open propped by a chair from the room. Reported to the hotel who were supposed to ring us today but they did not do so. They have CCTV cameras as I asked them however they have clearly just fobbed us off. We stay at least 3 times a year but would never stay again. This hotel is a security risk and people should be wary of staying here. This has been reported to Premier Inn head office vendor Ben to investigate.
- 897glendaa (10/5): Comfortable, clean and very good value for money. - The room was nice, clean and comfortable. There were extra pillows if you needed them, the room was spacious, and really nice hand and body wash.
- PaulMatters (8/5): Typical Premier hotel, good location - A nice hotel in the Premier hotel chain and well located in the middle of Hitchin with plenty of public car parking opposite. Pretty much standard Premier rooms, small and clean; good for a comfortable night's sleep. Meals are somewhat basic, though there are plenty of options nearby.
- natasharS8207PQ (10/5): Exactly what we paid for it’s lovely - Exactly what I expect from this company, nice staff waiting for guests to arrive and ask about your journey, room was clean fresh and a good size. When you know what to expect and it ticks all the boxes you have no complaints just praise
- jostewartsmith (10/5): A warm welcome, and a Lovely catch up - After finishing my shopping, I met my friend at the Premier Inn for breakfast. I wasn’t staying overnight, just stopping by for a catch up, and I’m so glad we did. The team were warm and welcoming, especially with the kids who ate for free and left happily full.
The food was fresh, the service kind, and the atmosphere relaxed perfect for a chat over coffee.
After a rocky start to the day, ending it there was a lovely reminder of how good simple things can be, good food, good company, and kind people. I’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Hitchin.
- N5762GHterryb (10/5): Outstanding accommodation.. - The best hotel I've stayed in,in a long time. All the staff were kind and courteous, helped by a first class accommodation. I mention a few of the kind staff,Abbey,Nat,Isaacs,Claire plus all those whose names I forget.Meals, again first rate, both breakfast and evening meal.Onto the room.A extremely comfortable bed, excellent in-room facilities too.All in all,a 100% worth while experience.
Terry Beechener.
- robgL7771IY (10/5): Extremely welcoming with a smile. :-) - Arrived late in the evening after a 7 hour drive. James came to the door to let me in and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Helpful, polite and welcoming. Just what is needed after 7 hours stuck in a car and away from home. Thank you for the hospitality.
- LouLou56 (10/5): Really great place to stay - staff on reception 24/7 - I love staying here. I visit every 3 months when I see an old friend who lives locally. The staff are really fabulous and make you feel welcome and valued. A special nod to Aiden and lovely Debbie. It makes such a change to get a great welcome every time I visit.
Only one downer is that they have started charging for parking. You would think that residents would have their parking covered! Only £3 per night but I was disappointed.
- elainenH6040JA (6/5): Good location for requirements - Have stayed in a few premier inns and this was a little tired decor wise . Booked a double room, which only gave I towel, 1 tea bag for 2 people? Had to go to reception and request more , where upon met another guest doing the same . Beside light didnt work and usb plug socket was dislodged from wall. If you have any neck issues take your own pillow ! I guess these are minor issues overall , but price was reasonable.
- K8731SAao (10/5): Loved every minute! - This time was better than the last! breakfast was great, staff were outstanding, big shout out to Nat and Abbie for the wonderful service at breakfast, Caroline for the best breakfast i’ve ever eaten. Megan who checked me in the evening before was so helpful. Overall the team at this hotel is out of this world, I’ve never been anywhere with staff that care as much as this hotel. Room 208 was great and very clean also bonus that it looked out to the church.
Thank you Hitchin Premier Inn. See you again soon!
- JonnyG47 (8/5): Comfortable room in good location - Does what Premier Inns do well - comfortable room, helpful staff. Decor is possibly a little tired, but that is hardly an issue. it provided all we needed at a reasonable price
- micheals411 (10/5): Great service - We had a very pleasant stay. The service was very good, and Ryan and Aiden were especially kind and helpful throughout. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It made our visit very comfortable.
- O6042QRmatthews (10/5): Good - Room was clean and tidy. food next door was good. Actually enjoyed my stay at a premier Inn for once. Staff were friendly as well. Well done premier inn Christchurch
- mariamoo (4/5): Terrible experience in the cafe - We are actually staying in this premier inn at the moment for 3 nights. Got up this morning to go to breakfast and was treated so rude by the restaurant waitress, to the point I was so embarrassed, upset nearly in tears( more like a cafe as no pub on site) unfortunately I have a peanut allergy and was told I couldn’t eat in the cafe (the social) unless I sat and read the whole allergy folder. This was shouted at me so loud and aggressive in front of a lot of other guests. I went bright red with embarrassment. I only wanted fresh fruit salad as I am quite aware obviously of my allergy. So since when did fresh fruit contain peanuts? She even followed us out of the cafe with the folder shouting at us when we walked out without eating. Ended up driving to weatherspoons to eat. The premier inn is clean. Other staff okay. But it’s next to a building site. In Herne bay there is hardly anywhere to eat or park, even with a blue badge. We did last night eat in miller and Carter steak house which had no issues with a peanut allergy, and the food and staff were fantastic. The premier in is also out dated. So you can book anything premier in online, but they don’t have a food menu filter online to filter out allergies like other places to eat. Meaning the menu should come up online, you then click allergies on the page and in my case select peanuts. And then it only shows foods that are safe to eat. We have stayed in many premier inns all over the uk and never had a problem eating before. Honestly she was so RUDE and needs to be re trained and thought discretion
- 328miket (10/5): Stay here - Fine hotel, excellent beds, great English breakfast. The place is a bit difficult to find without satnav or similar, particularly when suffering from jet lag! But it's quiet, comfortable and good value.
- PeteH1965 (4/5): Very Disappointing Visit - Room Really too Warm - Arrived late afternoon, checked in without issue. We had booked evening meal / breakfast so asked if we needed to book a table, we were told the hotel was not busy, no need to book. Very true, when we ate, we were the only ones in the restaurant part. Meal was uneventful, server was also manning reception desk as well as taking food orders, preparing and serving the meals. When we got to the room we noticed how unbearably warm it was, without opening windows. The AC control was showing a fault, pushed some buttons to reset, it came back on and went straight into fault again and shut off, the screen showed the room at 26.5 degrees, way too warm. There was an electric fan placed in the room as well, when plugged in it made allot of noise, but moved very little air, useless, and just barely moved some warm air around. We also noticed some house keeping issues whilst unpacking. There was no remote control for the TV, there were two half drunk bottles of water on the windowsill, there was a used towel hanging behind the bathroom door, there was an aerosol cap by the door into the room, the bin had a split bag with rubbish already in it. It did not appear much attention had been paid to cleaning the space.
We reported the AC issue downstairs to the reception staff / waitress in the restaurant, noted the remote missing and fan useless. She said she would check the status of the AC, and get another fan put in the room whilst we ate dinner. She also brought a remote to the table for the TV. When we finished out meal, we took a short walk outside and came back to the hotel. The room was as warm as ever, the fan was exactly the same as when we arrived. We settled down to watch TV, using the new remote, and spent a very uncomfortable night in 27-28 degree heat without any air movement. Not at all impressed, have written to customer relations at Premier Inn, we reported the issues as they happened, apart from the remote, nothing was done about the room/AC. If the hotel was as empty as we were told, surely we could have been moved to a room where the AC was functioning.
- janisgym (6/5): The good the bad and the ugly - There are good points I'd like to say about first
The young reception team and chefs and breakfast team I couldn't fault
They were hard working, polite and great customer service
The breakfast is fresh and lots of variety
We arrived and the lift was out of order
Location is a bit far from the town and beach
Its about 25 minute walk
The busses only run once an hour if that so my advice is to drive to the beach
My room was large and spacious
However there were stains on the carpet, some curtain hooks were missing making the room look shabby, a massive crack in a tile in the bathroom and the toilet was shabby
I paid a lot for two nights stay so was shocked that no one was checking rooms to make sure they are in good condition
My friend walked into her room and it smelt so bad because the air vent in the bathroom wasn't working which meant that all the moisture from the bathroom was in the bedroom. But they kindly moved her to a different room.
I'd probly check to see if there are air b&bs or bed and breakfast nearer the beach if I was to visit again.
My stay wasn't worth what I paid due the the shabby condition of my room
- Sljamesuk (4/5): Room smelt like a greasy spoon cafe - Disappointing stay! I was looking forward to my first stay in a premier inn hotel but the whole experience was underwhelming and it’s only redeeming feature was the staff who remained pleasant and helpful despite the pressures they were being put under.
Automatic check in was broken, no reception staff immediately available, keys not working, broken coffee machines, ripped curtains in our room, dirty towels… but the worst part was how disgusting our room smelt. It smelt like a greasy spoon cafe and it didn’t get any better the whole time we were there. It literally felt like the kitchens extractors were directed straight into our rooms.
The parking was also a terrible experience but that we cannot blame on the hotel. Just make sure you understand where you can park as it is extremely confusing.
- kirsty123029 (6/5): It was ok for a cheap stay - We stayed for two nights visiting Peppa Pig World. It is a dated hotel, but it was clean. The restaurant needed more staff at breakfast. The two women in there worked really hard but they couldn’t do everything. This could make people late for their plans with having to wait for breakfast, so just consider that when booking. I think if you get in earlier you will be fine. But yes overall it was fine. First day the breakfast was stale but the second day it seemed much fresher.
- 359monikaf (10/5): Very nice - Friendly and helpful staff always with good and professional attitude.
Rooms need to be refurbished but as a old style they are clean but need more attention on detail but you are getting everything what need
- kfog77 (4/5): Terrible beds so uncomfortable. Not at all what I am used to in Premier Inns. Totally disappointed. - I stayed with my Mum who hasn't had a holiday in years. I told her that Herne Bay is lovely and that the Premier Inn have comfortable beds. Unfortunately they have changed all their beds and my Mum and I both woke up with stiff and sore backs, which I have never had before in Premier Inns. I am so disappointed, I don't think I will every stay in a premier inn again. I've stayed in at least 10 over the last 10 years and always had a great nights sleep before. They have gone downhill fast.
- CaroleJane58 (8/5): Standard Premier Inn - We stayed at this hotel for two nights. No complaints really, a fairly standard Premier Inn. Most things were fine and the staff were polite and courteous. I just felt the hotel could do with a bit of a freshening up. It looked a bit tired in places. Reasonably clean though. I missed having the option of a Premier Plus room, as having a fridge in the room is so useful!
- K4606AZameliab (6/5): Not worth the price - This hotel is incredibly expensive for what you get, if you are staying to be close to London then I would recommend just staying in London instead as you are pretty much paying the same prices. I did not think this hotel had been standing very long but the rooms were incredibly dated and poor quality. Very little air circulation, no opening windows, our shower curtain was dirty, screws loose and the whole socket came out when I unplugged my phone.
The hotel is quiet, we were first floor but heard nothing the entire stay, staff were also nice, but we struggled to find anyone when checking in, and it took a while before someone came to us, even when ringing the bell.
The biggest issue was parking, I ended up having to continually swap between car parks as the one directly outside has a maximum of four hours with no return within 2. The longer stay is further away and made me a bit anxious being so out of sight from my car. Permits would be a good idea, I ended up paying an extra £30 on parking over three days.
- MickN673260 (2/5): Not a disable people friendly hotel - We have stay in many premier inns over time this one has got to be one of the worst we have stay and wont ever be returning.
We believe because we question the main receptionist on having to pay for disable parking he didn't like our comments and so we believe he puts us in the worst room in the hotel Room 101. Right next to the lift.
This is very poor service premier inn sure sign that its going down hill.
- elainepN9759EV (10/5): Recommend for Hitchin and surrounding areas - Had a great stay here. The room was lovely and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Keelan and Claire. Super breakfast and a good central location. Would definitely stay again.
- samcU7155NP (8/5): Good bed and service poor breakfasts - All good except the breakfasts we paid for - no food delivery one day not wven fresh coffee and poor service at breakfast the 2nd day
- KCT1969 (10/5): Friendly Staff, great place to stay. - Always enjoy our stay at the Highcliffe Premier Inn. The staff are always friendly, helpful and courteous.
We always sleep really well, so feel refreshed ready for each new day.
There is so much to do in the area, this was our 10th year visiting! We will be back again.
- Safari769826 (6/5): Not so Premier - The hotel needs a complete makeover as looks tired. Area around also very untidy with building work going on and too & general litter. Small amount of tea & coffee provided. Rooms good size but depressing!! Be warned building work going on across road and also new McDonalds opening in closed pub literally next door. Ok to get head down for a couple of days. Stayed in better for far less!!
- mollatt21 (2/5): Disappointed dirty room - I’ve stayed at your property several times before boarding the ferry to the Isle of Wight and have generally had a positive experience. However, on this occasion, the condition of the room was disappointing.
My son’s pillow was visibly soiled with what appeared to be mud or some other form of dirt, and there were hairs on the bed linen. Additionally, the bathroom did not meet the expected standards of cleanliness.
I hope this feedback helps improve the consistency of room preparation, as I’ve come to expect better from previous visits.
- C4979BFsamc (8/5): A standard Premier Inn experience - A standard Premier Inn experience - comfy bed, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, car park. There isn't much more to say.
- AliClareBevan (10/5): Great Stay! - Wow.- what a fantastic hotel! We booked one night here, as we were attending a wedding nearby the following day. We had a great stay, and it was definitely the best Premier Inn we have stayed in. We were given a warm welcome and our room was clean, modern and bright. It was also spotlessly clean and the bed linen and towels were very fresh. We all slept well and our room was very quiet despite overlooking the front of the hotel. Breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly. Such good value for money. Would definitely recommend.
- christinasE3780VU (8/5): Basic for a premier inn - Stayed here for mine and my husband's first anniversary, stayed in premier inns before so was expecting the same standard. The room was ok, just needs to be updated or freshened up as the ceiling had a big crack the paint was flaking and mould in the bathroom above the shower.
- helenbN5139GD (10/5): Family Weekend Visit to Hitchin for a Silver Wedding Anniversary Celebration. - Very friendly staff who accommodated our needs very well. A particular shout out to Claire and our host for breakfast on Sunday morning who was extremely patient and assisted with troubleshooting the toaster.
My daughter loved the fan in her room. Thank you!
- Toshiba19 (8/5): Hotel stay - Staff and room excellent, let down by no bar or anywhere to buy food only vending machines, but even alcohol vending machine was after certain time. There was a big brand restaurant not far but also expensive. A lot of work going on near the hotel so not sure what noise would be like on a week day.
- barbarasA9530OO (8/5): Bedroom too hot, breakfast not hot enough - Bedroom was too hot even with the air conditioning at coolest level. Had breakfast one morning and hot buffet items were merely lukewarm. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
- grayo281 (10/5): Good location for beaches and new forest - The bed and pillows are very good, (ordered some pillows today) would be nice to have an area to charge up mobility scooters and wheel chairs, not always possible to get buggy in room.
- LeicesterFoxesFC (10/5): Good as ever - As usual with all premier inns you know what you are going to get and this one didn’t disappoint.
Nice and local in the centre of the town next to a good pub for drinks and food.
The air conditioning was excellent as well as the power shower.
Can’t fault it fully recommend
- davidwL7988CR (10/5): Comfortable and restful stay - Very comfortable stay and the A/C was more than welcome in this hot weather. Plenty of free parking and only a short drive to Herne Bay. Lots of building work going on nearby, but we were not disturbed. We will go again
- ssT1257IW (10/5): Great find - Stayed for one night to attend a family celebration nearby. We found that the Premier Inn met all our needs and was located near a great beach so we had a lovely swim before going home.
We would definitely go back. Breakfast was also very tasty
- 966beverleyf (8/5): Nice few days - Pluses : very comfortable bed, clean room, generally quiet, excellent breakfast at the Globe with good and friendly service.
Negatives: room very dark even with all the lights on
Extractor fan didn't work well so the bathroom was very steamed up and towels didn't dry.
- alisT140GT (8/5): A lovely friendly place to stay.... - From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and amenable. The room was clean and perfectly adequate for our short stay. Also the hotel is in a prime position to walk onto the Highcliffe High Street. The only drawback was not being able to access fresh air during the night. The air-con was very drying.
