Guest Reviews
- Z8537CApatriciac (4/5): Overpriced - For the price we paid there were several issues with our stay, things in room not working, no hot water, cold because to turn heater off, no lift. Not worth the amount charged, well overpriced.
- 47brendano (10/5): WHERE WOULD YOU GET THIS TREATMENT? - My wife and I are seniors. We live in Ireland and travel to and around the UK frequently. We tend to use Premier Inn Hotels a lot. On our most recent visit nearly a month ago, we spent 2 nights at the Hanger Lane Premier Inn and found it very good and this was mainly due to the caring staff.
We then moved to our favourite Premier Inn at Loughton/Buckhurst Hill for 5 nights. As always we were welcomed there with open arms by Nihal, Farouk, and Rosie. They did everything to make our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. There was a new (to us) member of staff in Reception named Harisha. He too was most efficient and helpful. One evening as we went to leave the hotel to go to our car in the car park, there was a heavy downpour of rain. I left my wife in Reception and was about to run to my car and bring it to the hotel door when Harisa stopped me. He went to his backpack and took out a folding umbrella. He handed it to me and said, "I will not need this until I go home at 11pm".
WHERE WOULD YOU GET THIS TREATMENT?
- Footprints435437 (6/5): Good lo action, poor bathroom - Good location, plenty of parking and decent pub with food next-door. Bathroom was in poor condition although it was clean. Holes in wall not filled well, scuff marks and soft, spongy floor.
- Sunwatcher3 (2/5): Lovely Hotel, Disgraceful Reception Service - Despite the hotel being truly beautiful, our arrival experience was shockingly unprofessional. We reached the hotel around 10:30–11:00 PM after an eight-hour drive, only to be met with two receptionists whose behavior was dismissive, irritated, and openly confrontational.
The blonde receptionist did not greet us, avoided any eye contact, and walked away to the back office without acknowledging us. When I asked politely for check-in assistance, she responded with:
“I need to finish my work. If you’re tired, that’s your problem.”
There were no other guests, yet we were deliberately kept waiting 15–20 minutes, during which the second receptionist also sided with her colleague and raised her voice at us, insisting that arriving at this hour was “our responsibility” and not their concern.
Afterward, we were given a noticeably worse room and told again, in a dismissive tone, that arriving late was “our problem.”
The hotel itself is impressive, but the attitude and conduct of the reception staff completely overshadowed what could have been a wonderful stay. A hotel of this quality deserves front-desk staff who meet its standards.
- paultP3644EX (10/5): Wedding party totally satisfied - The accommodation was extremely good value for my party, we had 3 rooms.
24 hour reception staff is a nice bonus these days.
All rooms were identical, all very clean, maybe a little tired but not a problem.
Beds were clean and comfortable.
Plenty of electrical sockets for chargers and the like.
- 737AL (2/5): Terrible hotel - The hotel is shocking. The rooms and general appearance is so bad I can't be bothered to write everything down. The beefeater next door is bad too. The smell of sewage is quite bad. Go to the harvester down the road and save yourself a bad time.
- F531YXcharlesh (10/5): Work stay - Always stay here when on business, staff can't do anymore than they do they are a credit to the company. Thinking about bringing my family soon for a little getaway.
- gsB3822CQ (10/5): A good experience - I needed a room to work in the evening during a 2 day conference. The room was spotless. The staff friendly and helpful. A good experience.
- 71junej (10/5): Brilliant breakfast - The Location was excellent as we were visiting The Naval Museum. The breakfast was brilliant. Presentation superb as was the ingredients. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
- Gewaddington (10/5): Happy customer - This is my 3rd stay.
Its location is ideal for exploring Lowestoft, and Great Yarmouth, and south of Lowestoft.
Staff are friendly, and rooms are clean and tidy.
- 906hanifes (10/5): Customer service is 11/10 - I have had a great experience here! I had so many requests when I entered the building and Harsha couldn't have been more helpful. He went above and beyond, not experienced this level of customer service anywhere else.
- mariaoG9933NV (10/5): London visit - What a great place to stay, the staff are really helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was incrediable, thank to the wonderful lady in the kitchen. Thank you all. We will deffiently be back.
- nicklQ9405WJ (8/5): Comfortable hotel but make sure you take your own water! - Good value comfortable room and clean spacious bathroom.
The breakfast choices were excellent, option to have food in the hotel in the evening and nice bar area.
Service generally good, but when checking out the receptionist refused to let us refill our water bottles, stating the tap water was not to take out!
- Walkingheart (10/5): Brilliant Stay - Brilliant staff which such care and consideration for its clients. The reception staff did a brilliant job making our young grandchildren feel comfortable. As many reviewers say the hotel is one of the older ones but it is clean and tidy.
- andrewwF8964PB (6/5): Lovely staff, great breakfast, hotel needs a refurb. - All that can be good and bad about a premier inn, in one place. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was excellent with hot foot cooked to order. However, the rooms themselves were very tired - chipped paint, bathrooms in need of TLC. Location is a fair way out of the town centre.
- abbye873 (10/5): Great stay :) - We checked in Friday for a weekend stay, the staff here have been lovely both times we've stayed particularly Abbie at check in who was so friendly while running through everything with us. The rooms are very clean with big comfortable beds and there’s plenty space in outside for parking :)
- karima664 (10/5): Wonderful Experience - We had a wonderful experience checking in thanks to Preet. They were so warm and friendly, and made sure all our questions were answered and our needs were met. Truly excellent hospitality.
- mizford (10/5): Second visit and welcomed back. - This is not the first stay at this hotel and upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly and warm welcome from Nihal who had recognised us from last year stay which was lovely. Check in was easy and the room was clean and cosy. We booked breakfast again and was not disappointed and was of a high standard same as last time. The hotel overall is clean and today, great refreshments in room as we had a premier plus and the little extras make the stay great. There is a vending machine with snacks and drinks and at reception they are happy to replenish coffee/tea etc. parking is great also. We again have had a relaxing stay and was a last minute booking due to family emergency, but would definitely return and feel Nihal is a great bonus to the hotel as is always so friendly and helpful.
- OwaisMo (8/5): Great staff but tired hotel - Parking and access was brilliant however the hotel is really tired and in desperate need for refurbishment. Carpets ripping and old/dirty, paintwork needs doing.
However what really stood out for us and made the stay really good was the staff. The check-in staff, checkout staff were great and Farouk in the restaurant was brilliant who really looked after us and ensured we had a very comfortable and enjoyable time in the restaurant. The staff is what made this stay memorable for us.
- 288caraf (10/5): Excellent stay once again - This is possibly the 5th or 6th time staying here.
Staff on reception always fabulous and friendly.
Rooms very well maintained, clean and functional. Hairdyer supplied, fan supplied, extra pillows supplied, tea and coffee supplied.
Bed: very comfortable.
We have stayed at the travelodge down the road and PREMIER INN beats it hands down.
Option available for breakfast and dinner rates at the beefeater next door.
Will continue to stay here whenever visiting Lowestoft.
- Susan (8/5): - Nice property for a quick stay, clean and quiet. Easy access to the Beefeater next door
- ktd17 (10/5): 10/10 for the staff and breakfast! - The staff that work here are just so lovely! They made our stay and get the 5 stars. The hotel is tired and our room smelt a bit musty and damp but the staff and the amazing cooked to order breakfast were fantastic.
- aemh71 (8/5): Needs a bit of TLC - For a Premier Inn I was slightly disappointed. Friendly receptionist on arrival. Asked about breakfast which was pre booked and if we wanted a table booking for dinner. Room was clean on entering but could do with a fresh coat of paint in areas.
Lighting - needs a light above the mirror when using hairdryer as lighting was fairly dim.
Could do with plug socket near bed for medical machine. Luckily we brought an extension lead as only sockets available were by the desk.
Room was very hot but a fan was provided.
Room is supposed to be blacked out so you have a good nights sleep. However, the light from under the door was very distracting and the curtains did let light through.
Breakfast was in the adjoining Beefeater. First morning, waited over 30 minutes for the breakfast to be served and on arrival the breakfast was warm not piping hot. Coffee machine - latte not hot. No butter for the toast only margarine.
Second morning, I had to send my food back as it was cold.
Would visit again but not have breakfast.
- G3162HDbarbarac (10/5): Splendid overnight stay - We always stay over at this Premier Inn, lovely, friendly staff, clean rooms, with food and drink close by.
This is our overnight stay and only a short distance from where we collect a hire boat for the week.
- Man-from-CFL (8/5): Peaceful hotel near the coast - Stayed for one night on a quick end-of summer road-trip to the coast. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the town, very easy to from the road but a short drive (or longer walk) to the centre of the town and coast. Plenty of parking around the hotel. Check in was quick and friendly, and the room was a good size. You can clearly tell this is one of Premier Inn’s older properties from the décor, however the room was clean and comfortable. A good comfortable bed along with the quite location gave a good night’s sleep. Only one power socket by the bed, and Wi-Fi wasn’t great, but I had some phone signal in the room, so this was not a major problem. No air-con in the room but a fan was provided (and nether needed this September!). Overall an enjoyable stay.
- Resort734596 (10/5): Great stay - Lovely convenient hotel
Clean , great staff , comfy place . Would stay again
Convenient for my visit. Great parking - u can park in restaurant next door if there’s is full
- Z5534EZstephenk (10/5): Excellent Premier Inn experience - Great experience at this Premier Inn
very friendly and helpful staff
excellent freshly cooked breakfast every day
10 out of 10.
- G7586AJdouglask (2/5): Premier prices and nothing more, The dirtiest inn we've ever used, Disappointing. - Accommodation in need of a reverb or at least good clean. The bar area was extremely dirty with furniture fit for the dump, because of this we decided Not to use the Foxburrow Beefeater restaurant & walked to the Brewers Fayre, Which was very busy but Great food good atmosphere & very clean.
- C4970PRjonathanf (2/5): Avoid - The general impression was one of 'grotty' and less than clean.
The entire place was poorly lit; it smelled stuffy, stagnant and damp.
The room (145) had no active ventilation. The extractor was not operational in the bathroom.
There was a constant background smell of sewage, inadequate sanitation and damp. There were visible signs of black mould, which had clearly been painted over a number of times. Fittings in the bathroom were rusty/water-damaged, clearly needed replacing and better maintenance employed.
Cobwebs in the sleeping area, very few TV channels. Overall, grubby and unwelcoming.
The duvet was marked and had no cover on it. It was just stuffed in a shelf if required. I can ony guess how many people had used it without a cover.
How the staff can stay so pleasant in such a shoddy place its a credit to them.
- rachelmiles885 (10/5): Great breakfast cooked fresh to order - Good location. Service and standards all as you’d expect - very good. Great location for local attractions accessible by car. Did not use local transport. Breakfast cooked fresh to order. Buffet style for everything else. Very reasonable price for food.
- siobhanh422 (10/5): 2nd time - This is our 2nd time to stay here and travelling with my OAP disabled mother. How lovely to be recognised by Sonya and Nihal on reception. They both have excellent customer service and make you feel so welcome. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. We will definitely return. Bathroom super clean and beds very comfortable. No air con but as the room was not in direct sunlight it didn't get too warm and there was a good quality fan available.
- shehnazp2025 (8/5): Lovely hotel, welcoming staff and a comfortable stay. - The staff at reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. They rooms were clean and tidy. We had a comfortable stay at this hotel. They staff were very helpful especially Nihal who helped me with my room booking as I needed an accessible room for my parents and my room was just next door to them which was ideal. Nice and tasty selection offered for breakfast. The service staff, especially Farouk and Pritam were very helpful and gave a service with a smile and lots of kindness. Thank you all for making our stay comfortable and welcoming.
- 422yasmini (4/5): Disappointing - The room had no air con it was a fan, there was only one towel with no spares for a couple that was staying there, hardly any of the tv channels worked also you had one pillow each..For the price they charge per room you would expect a little more!! Disappointing
- 859gregp (8/5): Good hotel, excellent staff, over priced on this occasion - As always excellent service at a Premier Inn. Only complaints are, not provision for secure motorcycle parking (although the staff did go out of their way to help) and higher than usual prices, £170 for one night!
- X1398CLsuem (10/5): Kind, helpful staff - Another lovely stay, with a warm welcome and friendly staff. Jayne was brilliant, as always - so helpful, she couldn't do enough for us. See you again soon.
- rj20001 (6/5): Friendly Staff - The staff on the front desk were very friendly and welcoming. The housekeeping staff were also friendly when passing in corridors. Overall the stay was pleasant although would say price was slightly on the expensive side as the room was not particularly clean / fresh looking and the generators outside were loud. That being said, the location is ideal.
- kaithis2025 (10/5): Excellent management - Great service from all the staff very friendly and helpful. Had a pleasant stay at the hotel. Beautiful ambiance and very hygienic atmosphere.
- tephen-Daly1878 (4/5): Friendly staff let down by poor facilities. - Very friendly staff, particularly at check-in. Good car parking at the hotel. Stayed at this hotel several times over the years and it is now showing its age. The bedrooms and bathroom need an upgrade. The bathroom wasn’t clean when we checked in. Nice comfy beds as usual. The Foxboro pub attached to the hotel was very poor the seating and tables in the bar/lounge area were dirty. Based on what we saw front of house we decided not to chance eating there. Overall the experience was probably the poorest I’ve had with Premier Inn.
- V6150OPchristinah (10/5): Great staff - Amazing place with great view . The staff were very kind and helpful. It was a very comfortable stay. Break fast is definitely worth the price
- W7917SBkellyd (10/5): Great experience - Staff were friendly, place was clean and tidy and breakfast was hot, staff were informative about the local area. Thanks
- glensfinancial (8/5): Come on Premier Inn. It is 2025 - Air Conditioning needed - Standard Premier Inn but Wi-Fi is poor - most places I stay have better Wi-Fi included.
It is about time Premier Inn started fitting air conditioning to their older hotels. I understand the expense of a major upgrade, but even if 50% of the rooms has a split unit a.c. unit fitted (They are cheap enough as I have them) and a slight surcharge to cover installation costs. I will admit I now always look for accommodation with a.c. This particular hotel is convenient for my work place but it is now under review.
- EddieP881 (10/5): A lovely 3 day break - The hotel staff were so happy, friendly and helpful.
The hotel is so well situated for travelling around the area..
We will definitely be back..
- 678quintonv (10/5): Amazing premier Inn - Amazing premier Inn as always perfect location if you want to go to great Yarmouth or Lowestoft or gorleston for the day.
- A9515CFlisap (8/5): Far superior to any British premier inn - We stayed as a family for a couple of nights in August 2024.
It was a short easy walk from Lubeck train station and we were able to leave our luggage as we were too early for our room to be ready.
We were welcomed and then went downstairs to use the toilets. The "main stair" area was pretty extravagant for a premier inn and we were immediately very impressed.
This level also has direct access to the car park and a bicycle store.
It was about 5 mins walk into the main Lubeck town centre which was stunning.
We returned later and checked into our room and we're very impressed.
We had lovely views of lubeck and also a large door to open wide (with glass to stop us falling out). Something which I don't think would ever be allowed in England but which we loved.
The free WiFi was excellent.
The whole room / hotel was absolutely spotless.... "Clinically clean". Probably the cleanest hotel bathroom I've ever stayed in and way more luxurious and cleaner than any British premier inn
The bath(shower) room was spacious and the rain shower was so high that even the tallest person could comfortably stand under it.
The continental breakfast was excellent and great value with different choices to British (understandably as we were in Germany) but it still included sausage eggs and beans as well as an extensive "continental" selection, including breakfast cereals a large selection of teas and oat milk. Again ... The breakfast was significantly better than British premier inn breakfast.
The reason I only gave the hotel very good rather than excellent was because our air conditioning was not working properly. We reported it 3 times and someone tried to fix it and apparently reset it but it still didn't work effectively and we couldn't get the room below 28c which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep .
I would never have booked a room without air conditioning in August.
Other wise this was by far the best, most luxurious premier inn we have ever stayed in (we must have stayed in 30+ premier inns in England) and I'd highly recommend staying here and eating breakfast here if visiting Lubeck
- Matt84London (8/5): Great location and good value for money - We stayed at the Premier Inn Luebeck City for two nights during our trip to Germany. The hotel is located a 5 minutes walking distance from Holsten Tor – the entry point to Luebeck’s old town.
For our two night stay we booked a slightly larger room “Premier Plus” which was located on the third floor featuring also a capsule coffee maker, complimentary water, ironing board & iron and a mini fridge. The hotel is certainly new and the room as well as communal areas felt still very fresh with no sign of any wear and tear on the interior. The room and bathroom were also very clean.
Check-in and check-out was very quick and hotel staff has been very friendly. The hotel also features a parking garage with a limit amount of parking spaces. The parking costs are EUR 15/night.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would certainly recommend this property.
- SoerenHaack (10/5): Great weekend stay with family - We went for Lübeck for a weekend stay and stayed at Premier Inn in Luebeck. The hotel is really great: nice and clean rooms, nice breakfast and really friendly and serviceminded hotel crew. The hotel is located very close the the historical gate to the city. I can highly recommend a stay at this hotel.
- 558andyb558 (10/5): Family visit, 3 rooms booked. Everyone happy! - Very new, very clean hotel. We were very happy with our choice. The staff speak English and were very welcoming. Breakfast was €16.90 which was buffet and was good value in my view. Plenty of choice, from sausages, scrambled eggs, continental breakfast I.e. cheese and meats, cereals etc. unlimited coffee and juices, very nice.
I would also recommend the hotel for its location, just outside the old city and adjacent to the train station by a short walk. We would definitely stop here again.
- Okmyx (8/5): Simple and reliable. Slow internet. - Modern hotel with basic room as expected. Friendly staff. Approximately 10 minute walk from old city, train station, restaurants, etc. Simple and reliable. Very slow internet. Did not have the overpriced breakfast. No safe or closet in room.
- culturevulture80 (10/5): Everything was Great - Location superb when coming from the Bahnhof. Close enough to easily walk there and yet also walkable to the city.
Epically good soundproofing both in the outdoor windows and internal noises.
Simple and highly functional layout.
Very clean and as it is relatively new, everything was in great working order.
Hairdryer next to large, well lit make up mirror was superb.
Simple but nice toiletaries provided. Fluffy towels, comfortable bed tea and coffee making facilities. Good price.
Carlos on the front desk was fabulous.
- mariomX7194HX (10/5): Very nice place to stay - Really good and nice hotel near the old city center. Modern, clean and quiet. The staff is very nice, especially Karmen who made sure to make our stay something extra. Knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. We felt really welcome, whether it was about giving tips on the nearest road or about a good German beer. Thank you once again for a pleasant stay at the Premier Inn.
- BrakiWorldTraveler (8/5): Excellent value and brand new - Hotel is located just outside Altstadt (old Town), some 7-8 min walk to it.
It seems being a brand new hotel, everything looks and smells new.
Check in was fast, rooms very modern and spacious enough with comfy beds.
Very good breakfast and kind staff.
Reasons I deduct one star which can easily be improved:
- no wardrobe closet in the room, but few hangers,
- no mini fridge or mini bar in the room.
Anyway, it's a great option when visiting Lubeck in terms of price/location/quality.
- R6453HXjamesw (10/5): Great stay at Premier Inn - The staff were really friendly and helpful. Lisa, Caroline, Dalya and Karmen. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good. Had a lovely stay. They helped with my fathers wheelchair. They gave us maps, tips for restaurants etc
