Guest Reviews
- davinab2020 (10/5): Value for money hotel - Good location, nice and clean hotel staff very friendly, nice bar and large car park, lift not working but was waiting for repair
- 226guyf (4/5): Disappointing - Location great, but this Premier Inn is in urgent need of a refurbishment. Nobody at the check-in desk when I arrived, only a message sellotaped to the call buzzer to say the buzzer wasn't working and to call from the buzzer on the outside door - which I couldn't find! The carpets in the public areas looked like they hadn't been hoovered for weeks - though the room itself was OK. Also the lift to the second floor was out of order. The restaurant in the evening was cold, but in the morning for breakfast was comfortably warm- so it wasn't like the heating wasn't working. Staff OK, once they turned up. All in all not the finest example of a Premier Inn.
- 14K45M (8/5): Incredible staff - The staff were absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. The rooms were spacious, quiet and comfortable. Our shower head clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a long time and the plug hole too. The quality of breakfast and selection was really good too. A fantastic place to stay for a good night’s sleep on your travels.
- B3664QUandrewp (10/5): Awesome 😊 - Lisa on the bar and reception was amazing with her cocktail making and Customer service
Will definitely return
Amazing experience
- X9274IDalext (10/5): Friendly and welcoming - Staff are always friendly, new and improved menu.
Always some banter when Kerry is on the desk.
Free parking and takeaway deliveries know the place well.
- adambR6848YN (10/5): Work trip to Stevenage - Served by Lisa in the bar, very, friendly welcoming and helpful.
The Same with blonde girls last week. Both put up with a drunken fool who kept winging. Handled it beautifully.
Top marks to the bar staff.
Staff having to split their duties between bar and reception is unfair. I feel more staff would improve the guest experience. They work extremely hard.
- kierong566 (10/5): Best place to stay in the evening - An amazing place, with amazing staff. Lieane and her team always make me feel welcome. It is always a pleasure to come here, I would never stay anywhere else when in the area. Thank you to all staff for there hard work, dedication and professionalism. I love it here.
- A8810OGphill (10/5): Excellent stay - Good location for early morning train to London. Uber is cheap for both the old town and train station.
Nice atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Great value for money. Would recommend.
- Dreamer01859754819 (10/5): Good stuff - Good stuff, can't complain. Comfortable, spacious and clean. Price isn't bad and staff were friendly. A+++++++++++++
- H7296XKmattc (10/5): Superb experience so far! - Lianne has really impressed me over the past 10 weeks with her friendly manor and positive management style shining through. Made a real difference to my stay and her team stands out in comparison to all other Premier Inns I have stayed at. Nothing is too much trouble, Matt 422 ;)
- Compass42015111745 (10/5): Good customer service - Great customer service from leanne and annette they helped us check in early to our room and got us all rooms next to each other
- 163tobyj (10/5): Lovely hospitality - Lianne was very helpful on the front desk, lovely breakfast and great customer service. Overall an enjoyable experience.
- helenfO4034PT (8/5): Comfy overnight stay. - Staff were friendly and kind at check in and the hotel provides free safe parking. Rooms were clean and tidy and had nice hot powerful showers. Nice comfy beds for everyone. No outside noise whatsoever during our stay. Excellent location with loads of shops, restaurants etc nearby. We even had a view of Stirling Castle from our room. Would certainly stay again. Unfortunately booked our stay only a few weeks before we stayed. Wish I'd booked earlier as may have got a cheaper price. Next time.
- Steve009 (10/5): A warm welcome awaits. - Very attentive, friendly staff who were very helpful.Lisa was on reception when we arrived and was very apologetic about the booking system being a tad problematic. She stayed professional throughout and solved the issue.
As mentioned in an earlier review, please ensure that you log your car details into the tablet for parking whilst you’re visiting the hotel.
Rooms were excellent.Clean and comfortable.
All in all,a fantastic stop over on a football away day.
- Tourist09570163662 (10/5): Excellent customer service from Lynda. - From the greeting at the front desk from Lynda, the level of service was excellent.
Would definitely recommend this Premier Inn if you are in the area.
- 192finlaym (10/5): Two nights in Stirling - The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Maybe it was because I was at the end of the corridor but it was nice and quiet.
- janfQ5151NS (6/5): Not a good impression at all. - we've used premier inn a few times in and around the country and usually get the same outstanding service and value for money. This time I was very disappointed. The entrance hadn't seen a hoover or mop in weeks. The lift was filthy and the hall carpets again not swept for a very long time. I was dreading the room. As we entered, again the bed was clean but that was it. The mirrors smudged and dirty from the previous visitor. the sink scum from the previous guest. Bins not emptied. I went down to reception to ask for a different room but not a member of staff to be found. The place wasn't clean. The room not the usual standard. I heard another guest say the same thing. We paid for an all you can eat breakfast, yet were served a small breakfast. Not impressed and won't be staying there again. Disappointed was an understatement. The first time I've had to clean a room myself.
- S4852TOrachelk (10/5): Great stay - Good overnight stop to break up a journey, the breakfast was particularly good - Keir was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful, despite it being very busy.
- KTLReid (8/5): Great overnight stay! - Overall good value for money, best premier inn I’ve stayed in regard to service. We received a friendly and efficient welcome from Lesley the receptionist!
Good location and pleasant rooms, would definitely return!
- 934swanl (8/5): Clean and comfortable stay - Really friendly stay. Just passing by for a night, received a lovely welcome from receptionist Lesley. Very informative and friendly.
Room was clean and comfortable.
- coleend20 (10/5): Very nice - We had a great welcome today from receptionist Lesley
She explained where everything is breakfast room lift etc which we found very helpful
If we needed anything just to ask. I asked her her name she said Lesley and gave us a comment card so I came straight to herethankyou again
- mrskinnern (10/5): Great service from Lesley! - This is a huge shout out to Lesley who was the receptionist when we arrived.
She was very helpful making sure we knew about all the facilities & how to get into town.
When we got to our room we were disappointed at the size of it as we were staying for 4 nights & it was quite small.
I asked Lesley if there was any chance of a change and she arranged it.
My husband had a few more questions later & again it was no trouble for her.
Thank you Lesley. You did the brand proud!
- michaelyY2751SF (10/5): Superduper - Very nice accommodation, minor problem with TV but a very nice staff member called Kerri helped with the issue very quickly and Taylor kept me occupied with witty chat.
- ssnsykes (2/5): Never again. - The staff were amazing but the accommodation and food were terrible.
We used to visit Premier Inns regularly but this visit was the last time. Definitely.
- jt035 (8/5): Local overnighter, Keir is fab! - We know this hotel has some difficulties but our experience has been good. Room (24, ground floor, overlooking car park) was clean and quiet, air conditioning was working. Had to ask for a second bath towel.
Keir at breakfast worked his backside off! On the floor on his own on a Saturday morning (until around 10:15am) so slight delays but the man couldn't do any more with his own hands and feet!
Amazing member of staff and he kept polite and jolly with it.
Cooked breakfast has to be ordered rather than DIY buffet-style that you find at some Premier Inns. No caffeine free coffee, Continental breakfast items all available.
- W2829VUpeterf (10/5): My recent stay October 2025 - just wanted to take a moment to recognise the amazing staff at the Premier Inn in Stevenage. From the moment I arrived, Hayley, Kerri, Lisa, Ellis, Taylor and Lea made me feel incredibly welcome. They were friendly, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed — nothing was too much trouble.
A special mention also goes to Lianne, the manager, who clearly leads by example. It’s easy to see that the team works well together, and that comes across in the warm, positive atmosphere they create for guests.
Their kindness and efficiency genuinely made my stay so much more enjoyable. Thank you all — you’re a credit to Premier Inn!

- MichaelG5469 (10/5): Best staff. - Fantastic staff, best ive come across. Super friendly and loved doing there job. Brilliant stay. Definitely recommend staying here.
- 410natm (10/5): Hayley is the best - Hayley the staff member that was serving us during dinner and reception was absolutely amazing. She showed that she cares, she took care of our entire wedding party of 12 and was so good! Honestly she made the entire stay better and she deserves recognition for this, I have worked in retail/hospitality for over 10 years and I love to recognise a good worker when I see one.
- sjO5995MO (2/5): A very poor experience in the restaurant - Dinner at restaurant was a terrible experience. The chef made our various dishes - we could even see them on the counter but staff were not around or making themselves available (despite the bell being rung) to bring the food and by the time it arrived it was actually cold. The restaurant was not busy. It was just generally poor comms between kitchen and staff.
And we were the ones who suffered and we were not alone. Other guests were also v cross about the situation.
Things need sorting - quickly.
- Daydream64942782998 (10/5): Excellent service from Barbara (Kerry) helpful very good service - Barbara (Kerry) was very helpful good service definitely stay again thank you and thank you for the curry number just hope the food is good
- holymoley1966 (4/5): Meh - Second booking here in recent weeks and issues both times. Forgiveable at what used to be £35 a night but the rooms are regularly £100 plus these days. Everything looks to be rushed and understaffed. Disappointed again.
No shower curtain this time. Very kindly removed and placed on the bathroom floor. Bath drain is very slow, meaning that in our open air shower we stood ankle deep in water.
- 704islac (10/5): Family friendly, quiet and clean - when we go to Stirling, we only go to this hotel, because its very trustable, reliable and very approachable as its located in the towm centre.
- richardtA7869MZ (10/5): Service 💯 - Staff are 10 10 rooms are great services amazing team are bubbly Taylor is fantastic lian neHayley terri would deffo stay here and recommend to any workers and free parking is a bonus
- C322PAstever (2/5): Don't book! - The hotel had been booked since the beginning of the year with s large group party, and yet the management (i use this term very loosely) decide to leave 2 girls in charge (one a trainee) to deal with about 60 guys.
The table next to us have got fed up waiting to have their order taken and have ordered a pizza hut meal which has still arrived quicker than the food we ordered from the kitchen.
Very very poor service, won't be booking again.
- theoilspot (10/5): Fun hotel out of the traffic chaos. - Very nice place with a very nice and helpful staff. We really enjoyed watching Lisa work the front desk, resturant, and bar all at the same time, juggling our stupid questions and requests. What a great night with her happy personality fighting to keep a group our size happy. Thank you Lisa. The rest of the staff treated us the same.
We will be back.
- scotthA5740ES (2/5): Avoid - We were supposed to be stopping two nights but checked out after one as it was smelly and filthy. Everything is tired. Only good thing is the staff
- Madwitch2729 (10/5): Over and above ..... - Thank you both Lianne and Hayley for your exceptional friendly, professional and attentive service during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, especially when our desk lamp required a lightbulb, we needed an extra hand towel and being served in the bar. Our only criticism is that we felt harried during breakfast by Christina as she was anxious to tidy away the buffet even though breakfast was not due to finish until 10.30 am. Admitedly we were the only 2 left but we were not intent on lingering as we had a long drive ahead of us.
- alanmU2620VR (8/5): I would recommend the hotel, but I would eat elsewhere. - This Premier Inn had all the qualities I’ve come to enjoy with a Premier Inn. Location, rooms, bed quality, service and value. However, its restaurant let it down quite a bit. Food was not of the quality expected Eg. Steak was of a poor quality and overcooked. I would recommend the hotel, but I would eat elsewhere.
- trishmackenzie (4/5): Faulty Towers. - The hotel itself was okay, the problem was the restaurant asked for potato dippers as a starter they gave me chips when questioned it they said they didn’t have dippers but never told us,asked for my cold slaw to be put in a bowl away from my food the chef refused started shouting at staff the whole restaurant could hear her also refused other guests requests faulty towers didn’t have a look in.Other guests waited so long they walked out would never go there again.
- joesphc196 (2/5): Good room, poor service and attitude - Always like premier inn for its exceptionally clean room and standard service, however, my first time in stirling showed the complete opposite. Although the quality of the room remain excellent, service is very bad. Returned to hotel at 11:30pm and wants to have a drink with my fellow mate at the bar and was told that it’s close and won’t even sell alcohol to guests in the room?! That’s brand new information to me as all hotel I stayed when the travelodge right down the road would serve guest drinks till at least 1-2am and even allow us to bring drinks back to our room to consume. I don’t actually believe it’s a new policy, just staff being lazy and don’t wanna serve guests.
- Divemastery2k (10/5): 1 night stop over that I'm happy to repeat - Great Premier Inn to stay with easy access to Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington and St Helens. Easy and quick access to M62
Very clean, quiet and comfortable, excellent friendly staff.
- S7176QNlisab (10/5): Excellent stay - Stayed for 2 nights, excellent sleep beds were comfortable, room was exceptionally clean, breakfast in the morning was 10/10, great choice, great value for money and staff were very attentive.
- X9422EWmikem (10/5): Premier Inn St Helens South - We checked in here at short notice after a terrible night at another location in St Helens. Even tho' it was short notice the staff could not have been more helpful, particularly considering my poor mobility issues at the time. Special mention goes to Gary who was on duty at Reception on arrival. He assisted us with our cases to our intended 1st floor room. As we climbed the steps I asked about an accessible room to which he replied we do but it is offline due to minor issue with the shower mixer tap,
then said he had made a running repair pending a full check by plumber following day but would be happy to let us have the room if we accepted the potential problem. Gary advised he had checked the shower and it did work. We were happy to accept the room on the ground floor and for remainder of our stay it worked perfectly. I requested a shower mat for safety and by time we returned from dinner on 1st night the mat was in the bathroom. Gary and his lady colleague (sorry, can't recall her name) on reception were great, providing info on places to go, even tho' we have been frequent visitors to St Helens in the past. We learned of the planned refurbishment to the hotel and we will definitely be booking our next trip to St Helens @ Premier Inn St Helens South. Staff in the restaurant next door were also great despite it being a very busy night for them. We do occasionally enjoy a night or 2 in a luxury hotel room but Premier Inn does meet all our needs when on the go. Many thanks!!
- sharonfinney39 (10/5): Fantastic - Fantastic, friendly staff, Gary (Manager), Beth and Linda check in staff, also Emily Breakfast Waitress always make time to chat to us and our four year old. The food in the restaurant is excellent, as is The unlimited Breakfast and kids eat free with one paying adult which is also fantastic. Our daughter loves all the staff and looks forward to seeing them when we travel to the St Helens Eurolink Premier Inn. It’s our little break and we all love it.
- 973malh (6/5): Wouldn't return. - Bar and restaurant didn't open until 5 and shut at 8.30.
Was told 1 hour wait for breakfast even though we booked in advance.
Couldn't sit outside as door was locked where the benches were.
Very helpful receptionist.
- Paulv119 (10/5): Best staff ever! - Beautiful clean room, lovely meal in the restaurant, and above all, wonderful helpful staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
- nigeldA8990PY (10/5): Excellent Service. - Faultless.
Lynda was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Fresh towels on day 2 were a nice touch and very welcome.
Inn was ideally situated for Liverpool and Manchester.
- Rebecca_5067 (10/5): Lovely - Just off the motorway so very convenient. Nice and clean and quiet. Plenty of parking. I stayed as I was on a course early the following morning, I would definitely stay again if I’m in the area. Friendly staff member on the front desk. I felt safe as a solo female.
- kathywN4509EF (10/5): Good experience - Comfortable and clean, big shout out to Lynda who couldn't do enough to help us :) Beds are always great and I get a better sleep here than I do at home! As stated, very helpful and friendly staff who are always on hand for any requests, questions or queries.
- davidlJ5526BU (10/5): best night sleep - great experience being at this hotel its very peaceful and comfortable bed was great you'll always get a great night sleep here well worth the money for a great night sleep there are plenty of places to go if needed to get food etc near by there is option of breakfast or dinner at an extra cost
- heleny863 (10/5): Lovely stay from the minute I arrived - Stayed here 2 weeks ago would definitely recommend to my friends lovely hotel and the staff were amazing from the minute I arrived to when I was checking out had a breakfast next door and could not fault it. It was a busy hotel when I stayed but everyone was made to feel welcome
- heatheraG7043SI (10/5): Amazing - Amazing staff and nothing was too much trouble for the staff Gary especially was helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Liverpool or Manchester as location is handy near the motorway. Top marks from me as I needed to travel for work.
- 837juliew (10/5): Good Stay - Great location, convenient for travelling to Liverpool or Manchester and surrounding town (St Helens, Warrington). Rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. The bed was comfortable ans the linen / bedding spotlessly clean. Will definitely use this Premier Inn again
- 648NicolaM (10/5): Comfortable stay - Stayed for 2 nights in between Christmas and new year.
Stayed in a family room which was very comfortable beds ( pull out singles for the kids) very clean with fresh linen.
Bathroom clean,
Kettle in room, with hand wash and shower gel.
Staff always friendly on reception.
The pub next door seems to have half closed and are open for the people in the hotel - you would have to check if you need to pre book, which is a shame because the pub was decent.
Great stay and would definitely stay again
- Camper19165130265 (10/5): Comfortable stay - We stay here when we come to visit family.
We stayed in a family room with a king size and 2 pull outs. They are comfortable for pull out beds.
The staff are always helpful. Lovely and clean and close the everything.
We recommend staying here
Only downside is the pub has closed but I believe it is open at the moment for hotel stayers, but you may have to check this
- andrewgY5148XR (10/5): Great stay from start to finish - Stayed here while working in the area from the moment I arrived to the moment I left I was really impressed.
As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted with a smile and nothing was to much trouble. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends if they are in the area
- vickye730 (10/5): Would recommend to family and friends - Stayed at the hotel with family had a really good experience room was very clean good shower bed and pillows very comfortable we had breakfast in the morning Charlie was a lovely person couldn’t do enough for us lovely food very fresh and hot would recommend to friends and family to stay
- W3233FOliams (10/5): Great staff and food - The staff and hotel room was very nice, Staff was lovely and the food over at the restaurant was very good, I had a lasagna with chips and it was very well cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Joked around with the staff and they were very friendly! I recommend coming here if you are staying close by
- 181bethw (10/5): Great visit - This hotel is great, the location, the staff all excellent. The staff always try and go the extra mile for you. The food in the restaurant is lovely too.
Great value for money, would definitely stay here again.
Thanks for your hospitality xxx
