Guest Reviews
- nikkiwH5581JJ (8/5): Comfy hotel, lovely staff - Very comfy hotel, lovely reception team. Very quiet. Restaurant was disappointing with pasta dish being more of a child's portion and sauce was a basic tomato. My salad was covered in red pepper even though asked for salad without.
- Skyedog2212 (2/5): If I could give no stars I would - If I could give no stars I would. We booked 2 rooms months ago. Arrived here to find one room on the ground floor and one on the first....hello, there's a reason we booked 2 rooms. We are together!...so, I asked for an additional key for our room...but, they had run out of keys. A hotel that had run our of keys....really!. Even when we checked in, they gave us the emergency key....and the room was so dated, not refurbished for years. I didn't realise Premier Inn still had rooms that had not been refurbished in donkeys years. No sockets by the bed for charging phones etc, really dated furniture. Just horrid. Can't wait to check out in the morning and never come back!!
- Suemummy (10/5): Always welcoming - This is currently my favourite hotel in the area. Lovely and peaceful with all you need.
Prem plus room have the addition of air con. Plenty of parking and newly opened restaurant close by (not part of the hotel chain)
The hotel is always clean and so comfortable with all you need if away on business but the main thing about this place is the staff.
They are always so friendly and welcoming with Fridah always remembering me and making my stay that little bit special and nothing is too much trouble. She’s amazing.
The whole team here needs to be recognised for the amazing service they deliver. I will be back very soon.
- 783bb1 (4/5): Music Complaints - The hotel is very very basic with a desperate refurbishment needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming. However this is a very very basic place to stay, I’m glad we only had booked it just for a place to sleep as I wouldn’t have liked to stay more than one night. I was very disappointed with the music blaring out at 8 in the morning from what I was presuming coming from the breakfast hall. So not much of a lie in.
- daniellerJ8452GM (10/5): Great - Had a lovely experience here. Rooms were immaculate and staff were very friendly. Whole experience was great, will definitely be coming back.
- sarahwW8223LP (4/5): Wouldn’t stay again, restaurant manager was rude - Check in was disorganised. Restaurant forgot food order and waited an hour and half to be told it hadn’t been cooked. Manager and staff were rude to me and others in the restaurant when they asked about their food. Went across the road to the Hungry horse and got served in 10 minutes. Resulted in son eating really late and he was so tired his sleep was unsettled
- JohnB5381 (2/5): No warning of restaurant closed until arrival! - I booked this accommodation in Nov 2024, as we attend an annual function. On booking I rec'd email confirming room and x2 breakfast. Arrived just prior to book-in time and was informed that this location not longer provides meals from next door!! I rec'd no emails to inform me of this. If I had I would have cancelled my booking. We were planning to have a late lunch on arrival and were looking forward to a late breakfast Sunday morning due to midday check out. Staff informed me I could drive to another location to have food!! Where was the email informing me that the terms of my stay (contract) had changed?
- kathynathan2016 (10/5): Friendly and welcoming team. - Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Big shoutout to Connor M. for his excellent service and personable can do attitude.
- sallymP3973DR (10/5): Fabulous gem of a Premier Inn - Stay here frequently & book the premier plus rooms.
Large rooms beautifully refurbished & spotlessly clean, great decor, smart glamorous bathroom. Love the window which opens as well as well as the air con. Beautiful views over countryside.
Bed always really comfortable & fridge so useful for our long stays & table & chairs good for dining.
Location fab, near to town but great road access.
Parking free which is excellent.
Last but not least, the great staff who are always so friendly, helpful & polite, shout out to Frida & James. Just top notch.
- O7858THjakeg (10/5): Lovely and friendly waiters/chefs. Especially food! - Lovely stay! Especially enjoyed last night’s meal. We received a warm welcome from the reception team and our rooms were nice and clean. But what really made me want to write this review was the restaurant. It was amazing — the young waiters and chefs were lovely and friendly, and my mixed grill both looked and tasted outstanding! The chefs are especially a real asset to this company. Wait times were short, and the steak was cooked perfectly. I’m really happy overall.
The only downside was that the exterior of the building looked a bit dated, but apart from that, it was a great all-round experience. 🤩
Thank you!
- I4628HAscottc (6/5): Room too hot in November - Stopped here the night before an early morning flight. Quiet and close to airport. But why was the room so warm? It's November there's no excuse for a room so hot with a thick duvet that makes sleeping difficult.
- jordantW5592MG (10/5): Duty manager soohie was a star - Duty manager Sophie was excellent and offered great service and hospitality would come again. Room was clean and tidy and the breakfast was well stocked and well run.
- T3306UImattheww (6/5): Needs refurbishment - Ok if you are using the the airport maybe, stayed here a lot in the 2000s and it does appear to have been updated since, rooms are old fashioned and in need of a refurbishment. The breakfast in the pub next door wasn’t great. Booked for two night but decided against the second night. While I have good memories of staying here as kids with parents visiting family I wouldn’t stay again
- exercisejunkey (10/5): Excellent value for money. - Firstly l want to thank Shona the receptionist who had endless patience and lent me a screwdriver to fix my case.
I has a big double room. Really clean and a lovely hot shower. Book through holiday extras.
Only issue no lift so struggled with my case but another guest helped.
- lichst (2/5): WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! - It was beyond terrible!!
I would avoid this hotel at any cost and would given it a lower score if that were possible.
We arrived and were told to make sure that we closed the bathroom door when having a shower because it would set off the fire alarm. If that wasn’t an indication to leave there and then, I don’t know what was.
We were allocated a room away from the main building so we had to walk to our room, around the pub, which was quite lively, and in the dark because the path and steps were poorly lit. On entering the building to the side of the pub, my suspicion’s were confirmed. The place was unclean and in need of a serious refit. Unfortunately for us, it didn’t end there. On entering the room there were cobwebs all over including on the ceiling. These cobwebs were housing two very big spiders which had clearly been there for some considerable time. My daughter is petrified of spiders so she didn’t even want to sleep in the bed and I had the task of removing them.
The saga continued when we realised that there was no heating. I rang reception and was told that I could come and collect a portable heater because they couldn’t relocate us as the hotel was full. I didn't realise that the heater was a full radiator and proved extremely difficult to carry it all the way from the main building and up stairs due to its size and weight.
On getting our things ready for the morning (we had a very early flight), we realised how filthy the room actually was. There were numerous cobwebs everywhere, dust sitting all over the walls, that had clearly been there for some time and thick grime on the skirting boards. The hairdryer was in the most ridiculous place, with no mirror anywhere near and the only mirror had no socket anywhere close to be able to get ready in the morning.
Unfortunately, when we went to bed, all we could hear was the noise and shouting from the pub. We could hear the metro, cars and even the conversations from downstairs. There was a huge flood light outside the window, which shone into the room so you can imagine how much sleep we had - very little.
It was only when we woke in the morning that we realised that we had no hot water from the shower. In addition to that, the tap water was dangerously hot.
I fed my complaint back to Premier Inn and they didn’t even have the courtesy of writing to me. Instead, they refunded me £37 from the £78 which I paid, which I believe to be unreasonable due to the lack of basic amenities. My daughter had recently paid less to stay in hostels that had better amenities and were cleaner than the room we were in. I think the sheer lack of customer service by Whitbread is completely unacceptable.
The trip was a very short birthday treat for me and my daughter after a very stressful year and we couldn’t even get ready in the morning before leaving. Surely, that’s a basic expectation when staying in any hotel? If I'm being honest, it put quite a dampener on the start of our trip and if we hadn’t been catching a flight very early the next day, I would have left immediately. The sad thing is, my family and I stay in Premier Inns all the time and they could check this historically. I’m fact we have three more reservations in the next couple of months and I explained this, yet that bore no relevance when they considered the level of compensation they offered for our disappointment and inconvenience. As a result of this, I will certainly be reconsidering where I stay in future because they clearly hold no value for customer loyalty.
- 526gs526 (4/5): Not great - Lets start with the positive, very close to Newcastle airport, that why we chose it as we had an early flight, so we wanted an early night. This was not to happen as there is a football pitch right next to the room which had noise and bright lights to 10pm. Then there is the noise from the flights, which the room seemed to have no noise insulation given its proximity to the airport. In the end one of worst nights sleep I've ever had.
- izabellak231 (10/5): Lovely place - We had such a great stay at Norwich East. Its great location, free parking, food was good, every team member was very friendly, room and restaurant very clean.
Special mention to Alex who went above and beyond to made sure everything was running smoothly. She checked us in and mentioned meal deal. This is such a good option for families as even kids eat free for dinner and breakfast. She was at breakfast service and then even on desk when we checked out. The only negative is that our room was very dated. It didn't look anything like online pictures.
- davemM2305QH (10/5): A Very Pleasant Stay. - Absolutely Fantastic, Clean, Peaceful and a Pleasure to Stay There.
Easy to Find and Plenty of Parking, Have Now Created an Account and will be Stopping there more often.
- 181wesd (10/5): Amazing hotel! 10/10 - Amazing hotel with such an amazing team. Everyone at this hotel works so hard - reception was very welcoming, housekeeping team always said good morning to me when they saw me on corridor. I purchased meal deal and this is such a good value for money - £26.99 for 2 courses, drink and breakfast. I definitely recommend it. Food was very good and I can't wait to visit this hotel again. Thank you team East Broadlands
- 304fi (10/5): Fresh new hotel - We had a great experience staying at this hotel. Greeted by very helpful staff who helped arrange our rooms to be close together.
Decor of the room was the new generation, and therefore was clean and fresh.
Location was peaceful.
- joannet433 (4/5): Clean and friendly, but very basic - The rooms in the pub are very basic and seem tired. Bedding very clean, bed a bit hard. Receptionist was lovely.
This is not to the same standard as the Premier Inn closer to the airport.
Wouldn’t willingly stay here again.
- 173iainp (10/5): A good well placed hotel. - The hotel is well situated for the airport, only a short drive away. Parking is good and well lit.
The adjacent restaurant is adequate after a long drive. The queue to order is very long and the food was okay, the vegetables were over done and had been under the lamps for too long, the meat however was lovely.
- Shnwz (10/5): Outstanding Service and Exceptional Staff Support - Had a lovely stay here. The room was clean, spacious and well-equipped with all the essential amenities. Offers great value for money with a nice breakfast buffet available for a small additional cost and a lovely dinner selection too. A special shout out to Azad and Alex for their warm welcome and for going the extra mile to accommodate my needs right through to checkout.
- N656ONkeithj (2/5): The worst Premier Inn in the country? - It is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Could this be the worst Premier Inn in the country?
On the first night, when ordering food, we waited 60 minutes for the first meal. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes for the remaining meals, which came cold. After 50 minutes of waiting, we gave up and collected the drinks, which were ordered at the bar.
Breakfast is very cheap and definitely not cheerful. The eggs resembled a rubber toy.
Corridors within the hotel have a strange smell which resembles cannabis.
The hotel's upkeep is poor, which will be dangerous for disabled users. The outside is littered with rubbish.
Arriving 40 minutes early on the second week of my business trip - the first of five days, I was told the room was ready, but I had to pay £15 to gain access. I explained that I was booked for three weeks in the hotel and could I get in to my room early? No you have to pay £15.
I asked if I could go and wait in the bar area to which I was told it was closed but tried going to the Hungry Horse which is a competitor across the road.
if you’re booking and paying for your own accommodation, avoid it all costs unfortunately most the clientele contractors and disappointing that’s reflected on the customer service.
- Matt84London (6/5): OK experience, but property requires certain upgrades - We have stayed at the Premier Inn Norwich East for two nights attending a wedding in the area. The proximity to the wedding venue was for us the main reason to chose this hotel. Overall, the hard product is very similar to other Premier Inn properties we have stayed before. The room was clean and a fan was provided as the hotel does not feature air conditioning. Whilst we have been lucky that the weekend was not overly hot I can see the absence of air conditioning becoming an issue over the summer month. Also the bathroom is due a refurbishment.
- michaelsH5443JB (10/5): Good experience - I have stayed here three times and I was always satisfied. It was a good experience and I will definitely come again. Even though it seemed like it was not enough of them on shift. I still give it 5*.
- noahkV2992UO (10/5): 100% recommend - Really nice no problems staff are really friendly 100% recommend. Not to far from the Norwich town. Not far from restaurant at all.
- 707simonc (8/5): Convenient location and comfortable rooms. Restaurant not great though. - I have stayed at this hotel many times as I usually visit Norfolk for pleasure about twice a year and I tend to stay here. The rooms are clean and tidy and comfortable. The only minus really is that the higher floor rooms especially get very hot in the summer as there is no air conditioning. This has got worse as the hotel has been extended twice so is much bigger than it was originally so captures more heat from the sun.
The adjoining restaurant offers the usual type of things and as of a couple of years ago is only for use of people staying in the hotel. On the minus side, they seem to always be slightly short of staff, especially in the kitchen as there is often a long wait for food even though it is never very busy in the restaurant. Also , there are permanently things not available due to 'supply shortages' . This is not the fault of anybody at this hotel and seems to be a constant Premier inn issue these days. All of the staff work really hard though and are friendly. I tend to stay at this hotel because of it's central location being pretty much in the middle of the county of Norfolk and close to Norwich - there's a park and ride less than a mile away.
- cazb652 (8/5): Honest review - You know what, the room and bed are comfy and clean...the welcome I received when I arrived by the lovely friendly lady on the reception was wonderful 😁☺️....x
Yes it definitely needs a spruce up, 100%.... But, this is fine for a stop over before flying next day.
Needs new carpets, bathrooms need updating and a paint job would be recommended, but apart from that it's great, honestly.
The pub on site is basic but covers all needs and requirements.
- paulinedN6159MJ (2/5): Not up to Premier Inn’s normal standard. - We were there 3 nights (Thursday-Sunday). Bathroom fan humming all night Thursday despite light being off so hardly slept 1 night, reported problem to reception told wouldn’t be fixed till Monday, other half ended up fixing it by turning light socket switch off at night to stop the noise. Dinner very little choice on menu as the kitchen were out of some of the items on menu, breakfast disaster struggle to find plates to start with, rubbery eggs, rock hard hash browns, hard cold tomatoes, rubbery bacon, unable to eat any of it, no sausages,no pastries couldn’t find milk for cereal or anyone to ask for some. WiFi very hit and miss .
- chrisnewman1942 (6/5): 50/50 some good and some not so good - lovely staff on arrival at reception but had to play find the staff at meal times
Food was fine ,normal Premier Inn breakfast and quite reasonable evening meals Room was clean and tidy but bathroom needed an overhaul and update .Bed comfortable
- r0bertpik (10/5): Our stay at Premier Inn Norwich East - We had a great time at this Premier Inn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and well maintained. The room was very quiet. Parking was excellent and it was very well situated. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant was very clean.
- Wander34551236278 (2/5): Smelly and mouldy - Staff are nice but this is the worst premier inn I have stayed in old mouldy rooms with a musky damp smell needs a complete refurbishment. .
Didn't feel like a priemeir inn as if it's like a fake priemeir inn feel.
There was a hole in the skirting also a mice could get in.
Toilet was ald citron style toilet pan very old dirty and tired .
- Daydream54008329673 (8/5): An excellent stay...almost - I've stayed here a few times. The room was comfortable and very clean as usual.
The restaurant is now for hotel guests only. This works well when staying for dinner as the menu is varied and the food is good. The full english cooked breakfast choice is excellent but is now let down by food sitting under heat lamps for long periods which results in no runny fried eggs, dry hash browns, sausages and bacon etc.
- CathrynD17 (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Excellent hotel. Clean, comfortable and great value for money. Reception has spare in room refreshments to enable you to replenish if you need another cup of tea! The hotel was quiet and room was spacious. Parking spaces in lot are a little tight. I would highly recommend this hotel.
- A3937NBpatriciag (8/5): Highly recommend - This is a small friendly hotel next to a pub where you can buy food including breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean with an actual bath and a shower over. Good quality toiletries provided. It was very quiet compared to the hotels nearer the airport which can be noisy
- Venture53902693028 (10/5): Customer Service - Excellent customer service during the evening of Saturday 6th September 2025 from Donna and Jake.
.......
Regards
RJW
- darkivy (8/5): Almost perfect! - Stayed 4 nights while visiting the area, the hotel is conveniently placed for getting into the city and other road links. Large free car park, no issues getting a space, crazy really that the Nelson just down the road charges £10 a night for parking when this one is free. Bed was large and really comfortable, room was clean, no issues. No traffic noise. The only thing that let the stay down a bit was breakfast, we went down between 8.30-9am each morning so not late and every morning there was no bread, no eggs, no bacon, no yoghurts, no juice. Some of it was eventually restocked, but not all, we waited ages for eggs one morning, then when we got them there was no bread, and so on. Apart from the slow replenishment of breakfast, the hotel was great, a lovely convenient comfy stay.
- N4530JVhelenw (8/5): 2 nights - Staff were excellent, cleanliness and hygiene first class.
Building, furnishings and decor in need of a revamp, all very tired and sad.
- junebK9642UE (10/5): Great staff and great service - The staff at this Premier Inn are fantastic. Really friendly and accommodating. They looked after us very well providing us with fans as the weather was hot and locating us on the ground floor as I was recovering from a broken ankle. Although the location is on a big roundabout, it is very easy to get to lots of places from there. I highly recommend this Premier Inn
- NicH8614 (2/5): Scruffy and dirty - Friendly, welcoming staff and clean but hotel is scruffy and dirty.
Rooms are very dated, and bathroom full of mould. Strong smell of cleaning/bleach products when we opened the door.
1 double plug in the whole room!
Did the job for a night, but wouldn’t return or recommend
- suzannemU6760OW (10/5): Perfect stay. - The moment we stepped inside the receptionists were extremely helpful & friendly. Our Premier Plus room was perfect. Everything we needed was there. Excellent furnishings & a great bathroom.
- timbo49sail (4/5): Tired and scruffy. - Friendly staff and clean but the place wants demolishing. Rooms are very dated, and noisy . They smell strongly of cleaning fluids. Not easy to sleep.
The restaurant attached is even scruffier.
- lincssd1 (10/5): Friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms - Fantastic staff, really friendly and welcoming.
Room was very clean, it was the plus room so nice having the air con, mini fridge and posh shower gels. Only disappointment with room was the size of bed, always used to king size at premier inn, not sure why it has become smaller, prehaps my fault when I booked
Sadly the pub next door is being refurbished so we were recommended to go a couple of miles down the road to the next premier inn which we did and had a nice breakfast there.
- V5626UEjamesh (4/5): Read the small print! - On discovering only at check-in that my reserved room was in a completely separate annex adjacent to the main building above the restaurant/pub the receptionist saw my alarm and listened to my safety concerns, both personally and in general (fire safety/security etc), and very efficiently and kindly had my booking transferred to another Inn near-by and with the help of her manager, at no extra cost as a "good-will" gesture. I really appreciated this level of service and the kindly and efficient way it was sorted to my complete satisfaction.
- Mrs2me (10/5): Very comfortable stay in refurbished room - Very comfortable stay. Newly refurbished room which was great for layout and furnishings. Nice bathroom with excellent shower. No dining options but we knew this at the time of booking. Complimentary breakfast bar was a nice touch. Extra tea and coffee available in reception. Plenty of parking and good location for our road trip.
- fennybears (10/5): Weekend break to attend Santa Pod - Our weekend stay at Premier Inn was perfect.
Nice and clean, lovely sized room and the bed was so comfortable.
Only one thing, but not a criticism the room was very hot. The fan was useless, but we appreciate it was a hot weekend.
Glasses would be nice in the room as well
But overall a fab stay
- KieranK158 (10/5): Great service and delicious food - Excellent service and delicious food - best burger I've had in ages and a lovely icecream Sunday very kindly brought to my room. Thank you so much!
- 6chaycep (10/5): A great place and nice staff like Solomon. - It was a really nice stay and also I met Solomon a very humble guy and so helpful .God bless you Solomon .i loved the place no noise I hard a nice sleep.
- volkert607 (10/5): Perfect for Newcastle trip - Perfect location for a Newcastle visit. 2 Minutes by car to NCL. Directly opposite a Metrostation into town. Parking at hotel is free.
Hotel rooms are the typical premirr inn ones. Comfy beds.
Bathrooms could do with an upgrade.
Very reasonably priced.
Breakfast right next door in a pub.
Rated at 8 of 10
- F2174TJwilliamt (10/5): Lovely hotel - Really comfy beds clean rooms nice bathroom
Great location the metro is literally over the road and 10 minutes journey from the city centre
And staff really welcoming
- northants90 (10/5): Great hotel - Stayed here for a few days while the house was being renovated. What a great choice.
Hotel spotlessly clean
Recently refurbished so fresh
Bed remarkably comfortable
Staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming g and engaging. Shout out particularly to Fridah and Nicola who made our stay more pleasant.
Great hotel and recommended.
- thebearhack (4/5): Desperately Need Refurbishing - Perhaps the worst Premier Inn I have stayed in for some years. It is well located for the Metro and has a standard Premier Inn bed. However, rooms are very tired, tiny TV, threadbare carpets, tired furniture, mouldy bathroom with rotting woodwork.
- kaysT3889ZE (8/5): Great place for a 1 night stopover - We stayed here for 1 night to break a long road trip. We received a warm welcome. Our room was as we expected from a Premier Inn with a very comfortable bed.
We used the restaurant next door for an evening meal. We didn’t think the carvery looked very appetising so picked dishes off the menu. They were tasty and really good value for money. The option of an ice cream from the ice cream counter was something different and very tasty!
Car parking was free and secure with a coded barrier.
We both slept soundly and would happily stay again and recommend it.
- 299grahaml (8/5): Refurbishment needed - Stayed at several Premier Inn locations but this one looks in need of a refurbishment. Bedside light didn't work. The mirror in the bathroom has seen better days (Room 22).
Couldn't keep the room window open as you could hear the air conditioning unit running from the nearby pub all evening.
- Philip5122 (10/5): Very comfortable, good location. - Room was obviously recently upgraded....very new and swish bathroom. Easy to find the hotel on very picturesque business park.Pub literally next door serving good food and lovely (cheap) breakfast.Highly recommended for overnight stop.
- GrandTour21846240085 (10/5): Quiet and convenient location - Very pleased to find room was recently refurbished and immaculate. Quiet location. Staff very pleasant. Food available at premises next door. We didn’t use that so can’t comment on what was available. Convenient location for us to visit family and friends nearby
- I2582BUryanr (10/5): Highly recommend - Stayed here for work & pleasure 4/5 times over the last few weeks. Very good location, parking is good, the staff very polite & helpful. Rooms are always clean and staff are happy to accommodate more towels, tea, coffee etc. Beds are very comfortable and hardly any noise from the outside. Would recommend every-time.
- stevekQ80XP (10/5): Top hotel - Nicola was fantastic. Did everything in her power to make my stay perfect. Room was immaculate. Showers powerful and beds are lovely and comfy.
I really like the idea of having extra coffee and tea etc in the entrance for you to top up with. I always want more than is usually left in a room. Here you just take what you need!! Perfect!!
Thank you Nicola.
Kind regards
Steve.
- Z403DJsamanthad (8/5): Hotel fine. Beware the Breakfast!! - The hotel is great and the hotel staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. However, BEWARE the brekkie at the Green King Pub next door. This is NOT a normal breakfast experience you would expect from a Premier Inn. Dirty, empty, burnt pastries, no choice, warm milk, no staff. Just horrendous. I have attached photos. The Premier Inn staff were so apologetic and apparently the pub is closing down in Jult 2025. 4 starts for the Hotel but don't waste you money on the brekkie and avoid at it all costs.
