Guest Reviews
- Q5571HKadama (2/5): Bedbug infestation - Dear Premier Inn Dover East Management Team,
I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at your Dover East location on Saturday 22/11/25.
Upon arriving, I immediately noticed that the shower hose in my room was leaking and did not work properly, making showering difficult.
In addition, the room had a damp and musky smell, which made the stay uncomfortable and suggested poor maintenance.
However, the most serious issue became clear after I checked out.
On Sunday night when i got home, I noticed marks beginning to appear on my hands, and by Monday morning I had approximately 40 individual bites across my arms, legs, neck, face, back and chest. Given the timing and the fact that these symptoms developed immediately after staying in your hotel, I am confident that the room was the cause.
This is causing significant discomfort, disruption to my daily life, and genuine concern about the potential risk of bringing a pest infestation back to my home and family.
This is completely unacceptable, particularly for a well-established hotel chain where guests expect basic hygiene and safety standards to be met.
While I am still considering what resolution I may seek, it is essential that you urgently investigate this matter, inspect the room, and take immediate action to address any hygiene or pest issues identified. I also expect a clear explanation of how this was allowed to occur.
I look forward to your prompt response outlining the steps you intend to take.
- Danielf316450 (10/5): Exactly what you want/except of a premier in, staff (especially Steph) are great - Second visit this month, greeted by Steph both times, a very welcoming and knowledge professional, exactly the person you want helping and representing the brand when it’s a first time visit. somehow she even remembered me which always goes the extra mile. Rooms are exactly what you expert when you book a premier in, a clean and comfortable night stay.
Will return regularly.
- PaddytheCaddy (10/5): Comfortable. Helpful. Cheap. Good parking. - Warm welcome comfortable spacious room with and lovely bath. Steph was very welcoming and helpful. Great breakfast and free parking that was very close by.
- E3666QBleahc (10/5): Clean!!! - So happy with our stay here.
This is by far the cleanest premier inn we have ever stayed in!!
Especially the bathroom, it was spotless!! Plus a cheery hello from the cleaner Janet!
- Z1425PYmegans (10/5): Excellent stay and very clean! - I stayed for two nights in November 2025 and have to say the rooms were superb. Very clean and smelled lovely. I will definitely book again soon!
- chane277 (10/5): Fantastic service - Fair price, good location, fast check in, the room card was reafy wjen we checked in. The bed was comfy.
Car patk is free from Doncaster council outside of hotel.
- courtneyfV4661ZC (10/5): Come again! - I stayed here for a little stay with my boyfriend & it was absolutely lovely. the staff was friendly and the place was clean! definitely will come again
- billysO253PR (10/5): Great stay - I stayed here with friends the staff were very friendly and the room was very clean.very helpful, will definitely be staying again.
- J6760VEsharonm (10/5): Amazing! - We stayed the night a couple weeks ago whilst visiting family in the area. Had a great stay. Great location and the room was spotless! Was abit worried about staying with young children as we didn’t know how clean it would be. But it was amazing and so hygienic. Definitely worth the money. Will definitely be staying again.
- alisonmxo (8/5): Clean rooms but no air-con - Stayed here as we were attending the horse racing at Doncaster racecourse. Location was ideal as it was walking distance to the racecourse. Rooms were a bit dated, but clean. The staff we encountered were all friendly. The rooms didn't have air-con (which we knew) but thought it would be fine for a stay in November. It wasn't - the rooms hold a lot of heat so it was difficult to sleep. There is a fan which helps, but can be noisy. Parking is free and not far from the hotel. It's reasonable value for money.
- Stay62595972379 (2/5): Van broken into an valuables stolen! - Don't stay here if your a tradesman, i had my van broken into, I was one of many vans to get broken into. I was told it happens regularly and last week a man got beaten up by the thief's with a hammer
- fionajanew (10/5): Perfect location for visiting the castle - The location is perfect if your visiting the castle, its only a few minutes drive door to door. The hotel is tucked back behind the petrol station so you have to drive right to the T junction and take the last right once you turn in, otherwise you end up in the rear of the petrol station, as you may guess, I know because this is what I did!. There is plenty of parking, the staff were welcoming and friendly. My room was clean, a little hard to heat but managed it. The bed was perfection as always. There is no restaurant in the hotel, you have to go a short distance back up the road to the Brewers Fayre. It is walkable but also has a large car park if the weather is poor and you drive, its a few minutes walking. Would definitely stay here again.
- G1522CQjasona (10/5): Business trip - From the moment I arrive the hotel staff were very courteous and a pleasure to deal with
I stayed for for nights and enjoyed every moment no requests were too big
The staff are a credit to themselves and a perfect advertisement for premier inn
Thanks
Jason
- martinhO2590XD (10/5): Arrival at Reception - I was checked in by Shelly on my arrival. Who I found was pleasant and very efficient at her job. Thank you it was a pleasure to meet you.
- flipflogg (4/5): Unexpected cancellation by the hotel - I didn't actually stay in this hotel in the end. I booked a one night stay a couple of months ago and on the day before my stay I received an email saying "We’re really sorry your stay has been cancelled but you can rest easy knowing we’re here to help when you’re ready to book your next trip".
This was a shock to me as I hadn't cancelled and thought it could be a scam email. So I had to find a phone number to call the hotel. No number was provided on the "cancellation" email and the number on the original booking was a generic Premier Inn number. I had o choice but to phone this number and navigate an IVR system which was clearly unsuited to my enquiry. When I eventually spoke to a person they had to reroute me to the hotel, who told me they had a water problem and that I had been rebooked at the Dover Central branch.
I didn't receive any communication to tell me this - which would obviously have been a much more helpful piece of information and wouldn't have left me panicking the day before I was due to travel that I might not have a place to stay.
Not until I arrived at Dover Central and I was on their check in list was my mind put at rest.
This is a very poor performance from an otherwise generally reliable hotel chain. Very disappointing and distressing.
- U213HBpaulh (4/5): More plumbing problems - Hotel was good enough in itself with nice rooms for the price we paid but as that was the first day it had been open since the plumbing problems that closed it I wasn't expecting to be unable to have a bath or shower due to more plumbing issues!
- carolbE6213WU (10/5): Great value for money - Great value for money. Good size rooms.
Everything in the room was very clean.
Lovely staff
Very quiet
Short stroll for breakfast next door.
- Cassini_x (4/5): Depressing, dull & dated - This hotel is very tired and dated, the decor is depressing, dull & the rooms are used.
The WiFi does not work & the signal for 5g/4g is terrible.
The walls are thin so other room noise is loud above and to the sides.
The extractor fan is so loud it is not a relaxing bath & the heater is an old thing on the wall - no air con.
Fine if you are not needing to be in the room for long but after work and here for 4 weeks is not a pleasant experience.
There is a hairdryer - suitable
The pub/restaurant isn’t terrible it’s ok.
- P7937HRkarend (4/5): Old and dated premier in - Very dated and smelly, staff friendly, very difficult to find as hidden behind overgrown trees, carpets very dirty and bathroom was dirty
- gregorytichaonam (10/5): Amazing place - The place was well presented and clean.staff is amazing .It has amazing views .Our stay there was pleasant as we had an opportunity of seeing a cruise ship docked at Dover. The restaurant also saved fresh and very delicious meals.I am definitely visiting again
- O7478RVevac (2/5): Poor customer service - Stayed for 1 night as we had an early ferry to catch. Was in a disabled room, so lower bed and step into shower. Smaller bed with wide space around the bed so disabled access very good.
However access to the pub down side walk not well lit or clear if debris, didn't feel safe.
Woken by other guests a over very noisy running about room.... Unable to access reception, so reported to Stephen in the morning and disappoint revived the response of what do you expect stay at a busy port hotel..... Shame on you customer service was poor and left feeling tired and disappointed 😞
- blaynec2015 (10/5): Lovely stay - Janet and her team are brilliant, lovely stay and lovely bar next to hotel, great location for business or leisure, highly recommended
- lorraine (8/5): - Friendly staff
Room was comfortable
A bit remote
- WWrjb008 (10/5): Great service 👏 - All staff very efficient and friendly, particularly Catrina in the Restaurant
Room good size and well provided
Easy access to town and ferry port
🙂
- BeateJ50 (8/5): Good for a overnight stay - Excellent service, nice calm and clean, spacious rooms for the stay overnight. Tasteful décor and details. The venue is located near the Ferry to Calais, offers carpark facilities. It is in did the best place to stay when you travel.
- barrywC8849QH (10/5): Friendly staff, good place to stay. - Tia is a fantastic receptionist, fun, good with customers and friendly.
My room was close to the A2, so a little noisy with windows open.
Room was clean and well presented.
Location is not too difficult to find.
- Oadesey (10/5): 2 day Doncaster races visit - Stayed for 2 nights to visit Doncaster races we had 4 rooms for 8 people. This is the 2nd year we have stayed the staff can’t do enough to help guests. The rooms are spacious neat clean well equipped and tidy. The beds are so comfortable. It’s an easy 5 min walk or short taxi ride to races course and near to lakeside shopping centre. Breakfast was included in the restaurant at the side of the hotel there’s a Nando’s and a pizza parlour on site lots of restaurants a short drive away. Large parking area right at side of hotel.
- Q1808UJkristianb (4/5): Staff entered room without permission - A member of staff entered our room with a key without knocking while I was in the shower and my wife was naked awaiting to go in the shower
- F8324MOgracea (2/5): Room was like an oven - The location was very useful for the ferry port and easily accessible. The hotel was well decorated and clean and the bath was lovely.
However, the room was like an oven even though it hadn’t been hot outside that day or the days prior. 2 of my children ended up sleeping on the floor with the fan next to them just to be able to sleep. Opening the window to let some heat out brought in a LOT of noise from the busy road outside which bad traffic passing through all night. We all had a very poor night’s sleep and were met with very unsympathetic customer support when I called to let them know. It was a shame because we’d had a long drive that day and a long drive the day after our stay and we were shattered! It was a great hotel otherwise but obviously that’s not worth much if you can’t sleep because of intense heat and noise. Very disappointed.
- KevBlackery (6/5): No Wifi - As expected for a Premier Inn with usual facilities, good food in restaurant next door. However, wifi is awful, unable to connect to network, spoke to reception, got a voucher code for ultimate, not much use as will not connect to the Premier Inn wifi, reception said they have been aware of an issue for some time. Get your act together and sort it out. A standard problem at PI, is some tv channels missing and no option to retune.
- N2625TJjakeg (10/5): Great hotel - Great staff very polite and room was excellent quality very clean with no issues to raise. Comfy beds soft towels and a fan for a cool breeze
- P8274GClucaa (8/5): It was ok - Good hotel, checked in early which was good! We liked the Brewers Fayre across the road. Noticed something a bit unusual in the bath tub. Whenever there was water in the bath something kept leaking (tap was turned off). Thought that was strange. TV worked, everyone slept ok! One of the beds didn't have a duvet but the rest did.
- garysfoxes (10/5): Doncaster Premier Inn - Rooms were comfortable and ideal
Receptionist on arrival was excellent and informed us and directed us to the place we are attending
One of the best premier inn hotels we have stayed in.
Thank you
- lynbt (6/5): Not the best - Arrived late after a long journey managed to get a drink before last orders then told to leave the bar at 11pm as closing. Very basic rooms with no plug sockets by the beds. No interaction with anyone as self service. You get what you pay for, but would not visit again.
- Jean-Michel (8/5): Hôtel très bien placé pour prendre le ferry - Chambre très convenable pour nous et nos deux petits enfants.
Nous avons juste été gênés par beaucoup de bruit venant de l’étage supérieur.
- manazj (10/5): Lived up to the expected standards - Staying at this Premier Inn was a good experience. The staff were polite and helpful and the hotel was clean and spacious. Plenty of parking is available and the hotel is conveniently located to most amenities and tourist attractions.
- glynbarnes (8/5): Sight seeing - Our 2 night stay to visit the sights / Dover is full of history. Location very good. The outside of the building and pathway to local restaurant needs a bit of a tidy. The staff were efficient and friendly, Bedroom clean and bed super comfy. Bathroom with bath and shower, had everything needed for our stay. Breakfast and eveing meal, (took agvantage of the meal plan ) was in the restaurent next door . Good, as expected. Would stay again .
- sbC223PD (10/5): Great staff - Stayed as was close to the ferry port. Tia on reception was super helpful. Offered us bookings for dinner and breakfast. She provided taxi telephone numbers and recommendations of bars/restaurants in Dover. What a helpful and delightful young person.
- Erik (2/5): Don't book and pay through hotels.com - I had booked and paid through Hotels.com. But that was not accepted at check-in, and I had to pay once more. I have reached out to both the hotel and hotels.com, but neither will refund the double payment
- heloiseb623 (10/5): Staff are welcoming and helpful - Hotel looks dates outside, the rooms aren’t the most modern, but they are one of the cleanest I’ve stayed in. The thing that swung the good review from me was the staff. A young gentleman with a beard and a lady called either Tia or Tina. They were so friendly and helpful. Some premier inns you get grunted at. Thank you to the staff and I hope your boss appreciates the difference you make.
- Marian7776 (6/5): Hotel is fine, location leaves a lot to be desired. - The hotel was clean enough if a little tired in appearance, we didn't see any actual cleaning staff; the wet room was very welcome and well appointed, although I wouldn't recommend the shower seat (how do you adequately clean canvas?). The bed was very low which would probably be fine if you aren't tall, or have arthritic knees.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful.
There isn't a secure parking facility, which was a concern, especially given the number of 'boy racers' who congregated in the car park late at night making a lot of noise over-revving their engines to create multiple back firing noises, which at times sounded like a firing squad. Thankfully they stopped at around 01:00 on both nights of our stay. From our understanding this is a regular occurrence, and must be a nightmare for those living close by.
The breakfast was adequate, but not good value for money, and in hindsight I wouldn't have opted for it.
- N2554PFandreww (2/5): Only good if you like a concrete mattress - Great staff, but it would have been more comfortable to sleep on concrete! Premier Inn changed their bed supplier 2-3 years ago and since then it has been impossible to get a comfy bed. Atrocious.
- 854colinv (6/5): OK for short stay as out most of day. - Room as expected except for faulty ceiling light. Associated restaurant needs a face-lift. Food OK. Coffee machine faulty for one day.
- Manonthemove9 (10/5): A Perfect Stay in the Heart of Dresden - Located at the vibrant Prager Straße, Premier Inn Dresden City is an ideal choice for travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and accessibility. I had the pleasure of staying here, and the experience was truly memorable.

- carmengO1276OJ (8/5): A good hotel to visit the stunning city of Dresden - A good basic hotel directly on a busy shopping street and very close to the old town. It has all the amenities for a 3 star hotel, and everything is modern and new, no spots, dirt or mould. The room was good sized, very nice, clean, quiet and with tea and coffee facilities. No minibar or safe though. Breakfast was served in a nice room and there was a nice selection of products, nothing special, but enough for a good start of the day. The staff is very nice and helpful. Not cheap but a fair price, as Dresden is a very beautiful but expensive city.
- roberthE2826FT (8/5): Our first away together in 18 years - An absolute bugger to find, but once we had it was as you'd expect; clean and friendly. Bit of an odd configuration, whereby the reception is on the top floor and the rooms beneath it..just a bit disorientating to be honest and an observation not a criticism.
- Hellywobs (8/5): Excellent new Premier Inn - We stayed here in September - it opened earlier in 2023 and so is brand new. We didn't see much of the staff but they were friendly at reception. The hotel is clean and well located, as well as being good value.
We just went out to get breakfast so I can't comment on the food at the hotel.
