- ClaireE412 (6/5): Terrible pillows - We stayed here for the night after visiting the Harry Potter studios, we chose the Premier inn as you know what you’re getting with the chain, a clean and very comfy bed with a good breakfast! We arrived to the loveliest smell in our room, so lush! Quickly dumped our bags to go get some tea, service here was extremely hap hazard! The pleasant young man bless him didn’t seem to have a clue what he was doing which resulted in our order being forgotten to actually put through! Lovely food when it did arrive though. Our nights sleep was awful, the room was absolutely baking and the air con just did not work. I always love premier inn pillows, but these were awful!! So hard!! We all have very stiff necks today! Breakfast was lovely as per usual from Premier inn.
- 483majkam (10/5): Location and service - Good location and easy parking. Everything you need for a night out or shopping for Christmas. Good selection of food and drinks but there are also plenty of options in the area.
Service was high standard and everyone we encountered where nice and helpful
- 376gashawa (10/5): Very nice place - Sophie and Jodie were nice and helpful in the reception, the rooms were clean and I didn't see any hairs. The places is close to a beach.
- 294sweetr (10/5): Great stay! - I had a great stay here. Great location, clean and spacious rooms and lovely staff. Great experience and would definitely stay again!
- anamB5908EM (10/5): Highly recommend - I stayed at this hotel as I had a business trip this month.
Best choice ever. A beautiful hotel I can say.
I had a lovely stay, everything was perfect.
All the staff were professional.
The room was spotless and the breakfast was high-quality.
I will definitely return here. I highly recommend.
- Deliciouslyme (10/5): Just what I needed! - I went for a long weekend just to get away from it all. The staff were so friendly and helpful and I was so happy with my room. Such a comfy bed and had best night’s sleep during my stay.
Will be going back!
- 722andreeai (10/5): Spotless room and great stay - Had a great experience at this hotel. The room was spotless, the cleaning was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!
- Tour41414675069 (10/5): Best so far - Another visit in the area and another great spot. I recently stayed in other branches but this so far is the best. I had a room with a nice view and it was spotlessly clean. I didn’t have breakfast as we were leaving early in the morning. The lady on the reception was very accommodating and answered all our questions.
When I return to the area, I will stay at this gem.
- cirodX8034DJ (10/5): Lovely stay ! - Beautiful location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable the rooms. Nice breakfast, overall me and my wife we enjoyed our stay ! We will definitely come back !!
- gemmahY2185YX (10/5): Lovely stay - We had a lovely family room for the four of us and it was so clean and just prefect for what we needed.
The staff was great, very helpful.
- janicenix (10/5): Great spot and location - We had some friends come and visit so we suggested staying here. Really friendly staff and the rooms were as expected but the beds were so comfortable. My uncle said he had the best nights sleep.
I was worried that the room could be noisy as it’s by a busy road but I needn’t have had concerns as the window were excellent at blocking out any noise.
We would definitely use this hotel again.
- lloydbear2016 (2/5): Zero sleep.... and not for a good reason. - Very dissapointing. Grumpy reception staff.
One tea bag in the hot drinks tray.
Shower was luke warm.
Room was freezing cold upon arrival.
The temperature finally increased after 6 hrs in the middle of the night causing me to wake up in a sweat feeling sick.
The occupant above my room woke me almost every hour by stomping back and forth across their room...
Overall a terrible experience.
- P5267GVnataliem (10/5): Amazing team and great service - Amazing team and hotel!
Easy to park in the multi-storey carpark and just a short walk to the hotel. The receptionist was very nice and explained everything I needed to know. Breakfast in the morning was good with great selection, everything was fresh and topped up despite how busy it was.
I will be back for my Christmas shopping as the there are many great shops just down the street.
- helgamD620QO (10/5): We had an amazing stay the staff are so lovely rooms are so clean - We stayed there for two night and it was so lovely everyone made us feel so welcomed the staff was amazing the food was really good

- dib784 (10/5): Great stay at this premier inn - We stayed for one night and will definitely be coming back to stay again. The staff were polite, friendly and welcoming and very helpful.
Our room was very clean and had everything we needed.
We had breakfast and the food was hot and very nice.

- maryamt982 (10/5): Fantastic Hotel - Oh my God! This hotel is amazing and I recommend it to everyone!
I have stayed in many different hotels but this one is completely adorable. management ,Staff, room and hospitality is all under one roof.
Thank you guys
- N2686SFnicks (4/5): Good location, poor breakfast and shabby room - Location is good.
Breakfast was rubbish, hardly anything out. A few of each item arrived at all different times.
One of our group had to go up 4 time just make small breakfast. Worse premier inn breakfast we have had.
Upgraded room had bedside light missing, air would only do fan mode.
.
Lager was flat in the bar.
- Donuts_2009 (10/5): Annual trip to Hemel to meet up with friends. - A great hotel for meeting up with friends or family. Parking in the shopping centre next door, access is a very short walk via a walkway bridge to the hotel. I stayed in a Premier Inn plus room which had nice views. There was a coffee pod machine with two small complimentary chocolate bars and two bottles of water in the fridge. Room had modern décor and was in good condition. The bathroom was modern and had quality walk-inn shower. I would recommend this hotel.
- O626JMjl (10/5): Outstanding stay - This was our 3rd staying at this Premier Inn and honestly speaking, it has to be one of the best ones we have ever stayed in. The staff are extremely hospitable, rooms are clean and superb and also the train station is just a 20 minute walk from the hotel, so it’s just perfect.
Also wanna mention the young brown lad who works on the weekends (not sure what his name was) but he was really friendly along side the manager that was with him and they really made our stay a lot more comfortable. Even though breakfast was busy, the staff did give us a heads up that food is still being cooked just before we were seated.
Really really happy with this place and will definitely be back in the future!
- danielsB5992VI (10/5): Premier Inn Hemel Hempstead - Overall a great stay - the room was very clean and comfortable. The quality of the food at breakfast was good and the manager was very friendly. I would happily stay again.
- C6358SGkarenh (6/5): Good location - I've been here a few times before and each time the service is very good, even when they are understaffed and struggling a little bit. There are two women on the evening shift in particular that are always fantastic, Emma and Marie. And Ana in the morning is always amazing. However, this being said there is a new guy that is on the evening shift, and this is where my problem is. I witnessed the guy (his name is Louie? He's got blonde hair.) trying to stick ice down Marie's T-shirt whilst she was serving a customer at the bar. I think this was an attempt at the joke and whilst Marie didn't say anything in front of guests to him I noticed she was uncomfortable, constantly touching her uniform collar. She tried to handle it the best she could, from my opinion she looked tired and overwhelmed so this definitely didn't help her. I understand that recently this location has been understaffed, but for me it seemed that this guy is more of a difficulty than a help to the girls. Other than this the service at the bar was great. As usual the furniture is a little worn down and unfortunately it hasn't been replaced yet. The rooms as usual are up to standard! The little extras in the premier plus rooms are always good.
- Trail60843775500 (8/5): Comfort and convenience - A very good stay - comfortable room, great workspace/wifi, really lovely staff and service, good breakfast including gluten free options.
- 112gilliang (4/5): Lack of accomodation in Herne Bay. - We have stayed here previously and the standards have dropped considerably. The basic hotel items aren’t offered and was told they never have been. Very run down. Nowhere close by for average food, unless you have a car. Reasonable public transport due to a very large supermarket close by. Staff outside smoking, huge construction site next door. Didn’t eat there.
- rebeccamQ7929NL (2/5): Premier Inn Herne Bay - I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt this one was needed after our stay at the Herne Bay Hotel.
When we first arrived I was quite pleased. There were plenty of parking spaces and a Miller and Carter restaurant close by which was really handy. Things seemed promising at first.
At check-in the receptionist greeted us, though the welcome felt a little abrupt. The first thing we were asked was what time we’d be coming down for dinner as a time was needed straight away. After a two and a half hour drive with three children I just wanted to get to the room and settle everyone before deciding. I asked if I could call down later once we were ready and they said that was fine.
When we got to the room it looked clean at first glance but once we settled in we started to notice a few things. There were hair shavings around the sink and hairs on the bed linen. There was also no phone in the room to call down to reception.
We went downstairs and spoke to a member of staff, explaining about the hairs in the bathroom and on the bed. I asked if someone could please clean the bathroom as we could brush off the bedding ourselves. The staff member seemed concerned and said they’d find out who cleaned the room, but unfortunately nothing was done.
From then on the experience just didn’t feel the same. Most of the staff we met were friendly and professional and I do think they tried, but the lack of follow up and the cleanliness issue really took away from what could have been a lovely stay.
The location is great and very convenient for families but sadly based on our experience I wouldn’t go back.
- Nomad41239432145 (6/5): Not a seafront hotel - Went here October half term for 4 nights with my son. Firstly the hotel itself; Premier Inn standard which means you get what you paid for. Room was OK and clean, had a bath not just a shower, Wifi worked OK even the free wi-fi which hasn't always been the case in other hotels of this kind. The staff were very friendly always a "good morning" or "good afternoon". We didn't eat here so I can't comment on that but will say that the empty restaurant next door really needs to get opened again - I believe there were some issues with a McDonald's getting approval to open here. At present there is a canteen/cafe "The Social" and I'm sure they try their best but really this place needs an adjoining watering hole.
Now, for the location. It's right off the main road so easily accessible. Great. However, slap bang in a building site surrounded by an industrial estate - not so great. It does seem odd to have this hotel here not in a location obvious for anyone wanting to visit Herne Bay - there are no local big employers, Sainsbury's superstore and garage a stone's throw away so no problem with provisions but an awful long walk to town / the beach - about 30 minutes. There is a bus stop just round the corner opposite Miller and Carter's which you're welcome to visit if feeling extravagant otherwise food choices are extremely limited on foot - good chip shop on the junction at the top of the hill about 15 minutes walk but other than that town is your best bet.
So - hotel, OK except for the dining. Location, not so OK. When, surely not if, the adjacent restaurant opens again it will be an improvement
- 176darrylm (10/5): Herne Bay - Highly recommended - Staff were brilliant. Breakfast was excellent. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was lovely. Recommend Herne Bay Premier for a stay.
- Nicolala7 (10/5): A great overnight experience and hard working staff. - We were greeted by friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. They multi tasked very efficiently covering reception, answering queries and serving in the restaurant.
We were very impressed with the food and particularly the lovely breakfast choices. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. A great shower and lots of hot water.
The one minor issue with the air con was soon resolved.
A great overnight experience.
- sarajanec361 (10/5): Happy to recommend the hotel at Herne Bay - Would recommend the Premier Inn at Herne Bay. The staff were all friendly, polite & helpful. The bed was really comfortable. The choice of food for breakfast was excellent.
- 897glendaa (10/5): Comfortable, clean and very good value for money. - The room was nice, clean and comfortable. There were extra pillows if you needed them, the room was spacious, and really nice hand and body wash.
- mariamoo (4/5): Terrible experience in the cafe - We are actually staying in this premier inn at the moment for 3 nights. Got up this morning to go to breakfast and was treated so rude by the restaurant waitress, to the point I was so embarrassed, upset nearly in tears( more like a cafe as no pub on site) unfortunately I have a peanut allergy and was told I couldn’t eat in the cafe (the social) unless I sat and read the whole allergy folder. This was shouted at me so loud and aggressive in front of a lot of other guests. I went bright red with embarrassment. I only wanted fresh fruit salad as I am quite aware obviously of my allergy. So since when did fresh fruit contain peanuts? She even followed us out of the cafe with the folder shouting at us when we walked out without eating. Ended up driving to weatherspoons to eat. The premier inn is clean. Other staff okay. But it’s next to a building site. In Herne bay there is hardly anywhere to eat or park, even with a blue badge. We did last night eat in miller and Carter steak house which had no issues with a peanut allergy, and the food and staff were fantastic. The premier in is also out dated. So you can book anything premier in online, but they don’t have a food menu filter online to filter out allergies like other places to eat. Meaning the menu should come up online, you then click allergies on the page and in my case select peanuts. And then it only shows foods that are safe to eat. We have stayed in many premier inns all over the uk and never had a problem eating before. Honestly she was so RUDE and needs to be re trained and thought discretion
- 328miket (10/5): Stay here - Fine hotel, excellent beds, great English breakfast. The place is a bit difficult to find without satnav or similar, particularly when suffering from jet lag! But it's quiet, comfortable and good value.
- Lovetoski24 (8/5): Overnight stop over - Perfect easy to find location as a stop over in Germany. Hotel is modern and clean. Easy walk into city centre. Parking next to hotel. Only downside is check in and bar service can be slow.
- janisgym (6/5): The good the bad and the ugly - There are good points I'd like to say about first
The young reception team and chefs and breakfast team I couldn't fault
They were hard working, polite and great customer service
The breakfast is fresh and lots of variety
We arrived and the lift was out of order
Location is a bit far from the town and beach
Its about 25 minute walk
The busses only run once an hour if that so my advice is to drive to the beach
My room was large and spacious
However there were stains on the carpet, some curtain hooks were missing making the room look shabby, a massive crack in a tile in the bathroom and the toilet was shabby
I paid a lot for two nights stay so was shocked that no one was checking rooms to make sure they are in good condition
My friend walked into her room and it smelt so bad because the air vent in the bathroom wasn't working which meant that all the moisture from the bathroom was in the bedroom. But they kindly moved her to a different room.
I'd probly check to see if there are air b&bs or bed and breakfast nearer the beach if I was to visit again.
My stay wasn't worth what I paid due the the shabby condition of my room
- 359monikaf (10/5): Very nice - Friendly and helpful staff always with good and professional attitude.
Rooms need to be refurbished but as a old style they are clean but need more attention on detail but you are getting everything what need
- kfog77 (4/5): Terrible beds so uncomfortable. Not at all what I am used to in Premier Inns. Totally disappointed. - I stayed with my Mum who hasn't had a holiday in years. I told her that Herne Bay is lovely and that the Premier Inn have comfortable beds. Unfortunately they have changed all their beds and my Mum and I both woke up with stiff and sore backs, which I have never had before in Premier Inns. I am so disappointed, I don't think I will every stay in a premier inn again. I've stayed in at least 10 over the last 10 years and always had a great nights sleep before. They have gone downhill fast.
- samcU7155NP (8/5): Good bed and service poor breakfasts - All good except the breakfasts we paid for - no food delivery one day not wven fresh coffee and poor service at breakfast the 2nd day
- Safari769826 (6/5): Not so Premier - The hotel needs a complete makeover as looks tired. Area around also very untidy with building work going on and too & general litter. Small amount of tea & coffee provided. Rooms good size but depressing!! Be warned building work going on across road and also new McDonalds opening in closed pub literally next door. Ok to get head down for a couple of days. Stayed in better for far less!!
- C4979BFsamc (8/5): A standard Premier Inn experience - A standard Premier Inn experience - comfy bed, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, car park. There isn't much more to say.
- Toshiba19 (8/5): Hotel stay - Staff and room excellent, let down by no bar or anywhere to buy food only vending machines, but even alcohol vending machine was after certain time. There was a big brand restaurant not far but also expensive. A lot of work going on near the hotel so not sure what noise would be like on a week day.
- davidwL7988CR (10/5): Comfortable and restful stay - Very comfortable stay and the A/C was more than welcome in this hot weather. Plenty of free parking and only a short drive to Herne Bay. Lots of building work going on nearby, but we were not disturbed. We will go again
- M_s_a_h_m_5186 (2/5): Better Safe than Sorry - I wish I could give zero stars because what I experienced at this Premier Inn was absolutely unacceptable and downright shocking. If you’re a person of color, I would seriously think twice before booking here—because clearly, guests here aren’t treated as equals but rather as second-class citizens.
After a long journey from Barcelona, I arrived late at night, expecting a smooth check-in since my girlfriend had already checked in earlier that afternoon. Instead of being asked for my details or offered any assistance, I was immediately racially profiled by the receptionist on duty. His first question? “Are you a food delivery guy?”
No “Welcome,” no “How can I help you?”—just an unfounded assumption based entirely on my appearance. Even after I explained that my girlfriend had already checked in, he refused to believe me. I wasn’t allowed to proceed until my girlfriend came down to “prove” that I was, in fact, a guest. Does Premier Inn have an unwritten rule that Brown men must automatically be delivery drivers and not paying guests?
To make matters worse, a colleague of the receptionist later tried to justify this blatant discrimination by pointing out that I was carrying an orange bag—as if my clothing somehow dictates whether I deserve respect or not. And even if I were a delivery person, does Premier Inn train its staff to treat such individuals as less than human from the start?
The worst part? No apology. The receptionist remained arrogant, dismissive, and completely unapologetic. The hotel management promised an investigation and a response from the manager by Monday. Well, that deadline came and went—and I heard nothing. So, not only does the staff openly engage in racial profiling, but it seems Premier Inn doesn’t even care when their guests are humiliated.
This experience was degrading, insulting, and unacceptable on every level. If being treated with basic respect matters to you, I suggest you stay far away from this hotel. I’ll also be sharing this experience on other platforms like Booking.com so that other travelers—especially people of color—know what to expect from this hotel.
Update: After management reached out, I had hoped for a more constructive response. Unfortunately, they chose to defend their staff’s actions rather than acknowledging the clear racial profiling I experienced. Their solution? Pointing out how many nationalities they employ—because apparently, that cancels out discrimination. Still no apology from the staff member involved, and no intention to change their approach. Safe to say, I won’t be returning.
- Lovetoski24 (10/5): Over night stop while travelling - Great reasonably priced hotel which is very close to the city centre. Car parking right next to the hotel. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable and breakfast good. Have stayed twice already while travelling through Germany and will be staying again soon.
- A154FNthomask (2/5): Last time i went to a premier inn hotel. - Sadly the staff at the desk wasnt helpful, ignored my wish and thus i had to talk to the manager about changing the room.
They gave me a room without a curtain, and didnt want to offer me any other.
I could have left that minute but decided to stay the night, without sleep because the light did shine into the room.
- zaphod12345 (8/5): Nice hotel, conveniently located except for one side facing a loud street - The hotel is conveniently located close to the city center. Everything is clean, comfortable, and in good repair. The breakfast is nice; nothing special, but it does the trick. The whole hotel looks and feels a little like a Motel One.
One side of the hotel faces a pedestrian square ("Platz am Bollwerksturm") and is probably quiet at night. The other side unfortunately faces a very busy multilane street ("Bundesstrasse 39") with an intersection, and if you like to sleep with your window open, that can be a problem. Granted, the night I was there, seems like some drivers were playing Fast and Furious, doing some street racing.
