Guest Reviews
- justturned25 (6/5): Once - Staff excellent. Rooms & furniture tatty and could do with deep clean. Carpets stained. Cheap handwash in plus rooms. Noisy roads either side. Large payable car park which is increasingly popular with whitbread. Once was enough.
- Global30335800097 (4/5): Noisy, down trodden - Large parking area but limited spaces. Hotel very down trodden compared to other London Premier Inns. No noise insulation whatsoever could hear every door slam and people in room above us. Our room had a bad smell like drains and the heating control was broken. There was a hole in the floor covered by carpet. Empty water bottle left by previous guest and generally didn't feel clean. Shower was leaking and spraying water everywhere.
- hannahgO5164SG (10/5): Great stay as always in the Premier Inn - We had an excellent stay, the hotel staff were brilliant and friendly. It was my birthday and the staff had even gone to the trouble of decorating my room with balloons and chocolates. Was so great!
Great breakfast and free parking at the weekend!
- Monifajames (10/5): I loved my stay - A great location for a London stay! There’s a station nearby as well as bus routes. You will be sure to have a comfortable stay! I highly recommend 5/5
- marybN7506NI (10/5): Christmas Market Visit - Travelled to Edinburgh for the Christmas market. The Hub has a central location, clean rooms and fabulous breakfast.
Great value for money.
- katehP3103IF (2/5): Room without Windows - I wouldn't go back to a Premier Hub, booked for myself and 3 other family members, my mother being 85 and couldn't believe we were £80.00 each so £160.00 per room and it didn't even have a window, the bed was right up against the wall so have to climb over the other person if you need to get up through the night, definitely a room for 1 person, and I don't think that you should have hotel rooms without windows!!!!
- simonmJ9928SN (10/5): Great location, great value, and a lovely atmosphere. - my third visit in this hotel. Really value for money this time had a really spacious room, perfectly adequate for my needs clean and fresh and a perfect location just minutes walk from the tram stop on Princess Street. The breakfast is perfectly adequate, free tea and coffee throughout the day, there are juices available breakfast with a selection of pastries and cereal And fruit. Would recommend this hotel perfect location from Princess Street and Great value for money.
- NI84 (4/5): Not like a Premier Inn - I did not realise that premier inn hub seems to be a level below a premier inn, carpets filthy, decoration in rooms has happened but not very well. There is only a full blackout blind, no sheer blind so you are either in full fire of the Travelodge across the street or you have no window. We always love a premier inn as you know what you are getting, this is not the same
- T9992QFkarld (10/5): Great stay will definitely be back - Great stay again at Enfield premier inn, from check to check out shout out to Dora who was so helpful 😀 will be back again.
- J8022ILlukeg (10/5): A1 thanks - Stay here all the time with work staff are super nice and helpful always goes above and beyond to help I’d like to thank Dora especially doing everything to ensure a nice stress free stay
- Z6451YWemmar (10/5): Nice stay - Nice done what I wanted clean, good parking and breakfast,
Easy to get the train into central london
I will be back in December as the value for money is much better than others
- N3465PEmichellem (4/5): Gone down hill - Hotel stinks of drugs in rooms and corridors even see drug dealers droping of stuff outside. When you complain thry tell you to just spray your room with perfume as thry can't do nothing. I've stayed at hotels before and people are kicked out in middle of night for smoking cigarettes in room. So why isoent this hotel doing the same for those smoking drugs
- tommillar83 (10/5): Brilliant place for food and a giggle - Great hotel all staff are friendly and attentive marjan is always happy to help with any requests.
rooms clean to a very nice standard bed is always comfortable and the restaurant next door is lovely with well trained and helpful staff Jenny and the two Kelly's always working hard with a very good friendly atmosphere that's why I have been staying at this hotel every week for nearly 3 years wouldn't want to go anywhere else
- wendybW8457XN (10/5): Midweek stay - Had a lovely comfortable stay as always at this little gem at Enfield Lock. Nathan the receptionist especially very helpful. Always goes out of her way to make my stay stress free . Well done Marjan.
- Laneshawbridge123 (10/5): Enfield Premier Inn has the best staff ever! - Enfield Premier Inn has the best staff and reception team. Marjan and Lacy greeted me with their warm welcome and lovely smile. They allowed me to have extra duvets and pillows to help me sleep better and get comfortable. The room was clean and very nice. Will be there again next month!
- brunodog (10/5): Lovely stay - Stayed here one night. Centrally placed and easy access to bus, train and trams. Clean and compact room with, shower and toiletries provided. Free tea and coffee in bar area, a bottle of water is free in your room. Breakfast was continental style for £6 , quality was good and fresh. Staff friendly, polite and helpful. Would stay again.
- camerongD570BW (10/5): NA - The reception team led by Sevi and Lacey created a welcoming atmosphere. Lacey WAS INCREDIBLLY ATTENTIVE AND KNOLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE LOCAL AREA. THANK YOU GIRLS FOR YOUR FRIENDLY MANNER.
- charlenebD2143VW (10/5): Really nice place and staff - Check in was fun, quick and smooth thanks for reception girls Sevi and Lacey and guy help us with luggage Chris. They so friendly and polite.
- danonkap (10/5): We felt good in room 216. We would like to return in the future. - The rooms are clean and comfortable. The receptionist was kind and patient. The housekeepeg lady were also kind and helpful.
- naomicT8521PW (4/5): Poor room - Really not the usual standard from Premier Inn. I have stayed at this hotel before and its been great. Not on this occasion. The room was in desperate need of a refresh and was the room they would give out if no other rooms available. Thats fine but the price should at least reflect that. Wont be staying here again
- Q4143DAjamien (10/5): Good customer care - I am a frequent vistor due to working away alot mid week. The staff are very nice and helpful especially Marjan so thank you
- JackoCKJ (4/5): Rough and Dated - Needs Refurbishing - I normally love a Premier Inn, but this one is so rough! It’s full of trades using it for a cheap nights stay near London for work. We were a family and taken back by the bad language and ladish feel this hotel has. Despite signs out the front it’s full of smokers and at times the smell of pot - with staff and management blindly ignoring this. The bang average pub food makes school dinners seem Michelin standard - everything microwaved or air fried! Normally Premier Inn rooms are spotless but our one could do with a lick of paint and some modernising. Thankfully we know this isn’t the norm, but if I were Senior Mgmt I’d be acting to avoid this one tarnishing the usually strong and reliable brand.
- aoifeq96 (8/5): Good value, basic short stay. - Good comfortable, basic rooms. Very comfortable bed. Room was not cleaned as requested. Other than that it met expectations.
- TFA1913 (8/5): Perfect and affordable place for a Edinburgh city trip (with great view of the castle if your lucky ) - Had a pleasant stat here at the Premier Inn hub hotel Edinburgh Rosestreet.
Getting there was easy, take the tram from Edinburgh airport (buy a ticket or tap in with your debit card) and hop off at the Princesstreet stop and then its a very short walk to the hotel which is just around the corner.
Lots of restaurants and pubs/bars around the hotel and a good bar to have drinks at in the lobby. (And food if hungry from snacks to hot food).
Unlimited continental breakfast is available for £6 a day, and tea and coffee is unlimited without costst for guests.
Check in was quick and easy and getting to the room was without hassle (only 1 elavator was working during our stay).
Room was good, under bed storage for baggage which saves a lot of space in the room.
Pull out desk for if you want to get some work done, with a absolutely perfect view of Edinburgh Castle (if you have room 535 like we did, see pictures).
Room was airconditioned and had a touch screen pannel for the lights and A/C control. (AC was a little loud and had a pannel hanging off it)
Enough sockets for your devices and a tv which you can connect your phone to, perfect for streaming stuff.
A very comfortable bed with more then enough room for 2.
Shower was good with to shower heads, shower did have some signs of mold but nothing major, other facilities in the bathroom were very good also.
Overall had a very nice stay and would recommend to anyone who is wanting to go to Edinburgh for a trip.
- 562alexb562 (10/5): The Staff Make this an Exceptional Place - Nice atmosphere, good lighting, amazingly helpful staff. Great for the city centre and the station and the Messe. Clean and well equipped rooms.
- elnazb2024 (10/5): Vacances à Londre - Great experience. Stayed for three nights. The receptionist was knowledgeable, so kind and extremely helpful; gave us information which was an added bonus. Room was made up for our early check-in.
The bed was incredibly comfortable. Everything worked and didn't need any assistance.
Will definitely use again in future.
- 439adamr (2/5): Poor value for the price - Location: 5/5
Quality: 2/5
Value for Price: 0/5
- Disgusting, filthy carpets, but room was otherwise clean. Travel companions agreed but said their bathrooms were not clean.
- Noise: AC unit gurgles and creaks very loudly whenever on
- Insufficient room features: no trash can in main room, no safe, single control for all lights at once is not ideal for more than 1 person per room, very limited surface/table space
- Staff: front desk is not staffed, there is no text messaging system, and phone is not answered, so you have to physically go to the lobby and press a button to wait for someone if you need anything, but staff is friendly when needed
- Good location is the only real positive
- Accessible "roll-in shower" room's bathroom does not drain well so it floods when showering
On the second night here, the toilet would not flush. Someone came up and fixed it, then it broke a second and then third time. The manager on duty moved us to a new room for two nights that was half the size and had no windows. He said they would refund us for one night (USD $214). 10 days later, after contacting the property via Expedia and their own site, there has been no response and no refund. What a waste of time and energy.
The concept of this hotel is like one step above a hostel. Very strongly recommend against this location and chain (Hub by Premiere).
- Adam (6/5): - We get to reception, staff are playing horfie rap music. Room is not as clean as other premier inn properties. Both lifts were out of order the next morning. Felt like it was in a shifty location. We love premier inn however this one was the worst of the lot
- Passenger60710773613 (2/5): Disabled Room - We were placed in a disabled room with no furniture or other amenities. The bathroom door was broken. At check in they could not find our reservation. Stay at the Waverley on Princess St. It’s a nicer hotel with friendlier staff.
- zoej817 (10/5): Great city break / work hotel - So for what I needed this hotel was perfect. Perfect location for walking anywhere and very central. Bright, modern decor and very clean. Rooms are small and would say as a couple book larger room as compact with everything you need built in but limited floor space. No tea / coffee facilities in room but freely available in the lounge area. Limited menu choices for meals but literally restaurants /cafes on your door step. Breakfast very limited continental heavy on bread /pastries and cereal but fine as initial start to day. If you want luxury and plus restaurant/ facilities this isn't it but perfect for shorter city break / work.
- DevonIrelanders (10/5): Great location and price - great location and price. The room is small but has everything that's you need. The free tea and coffee was very welcome. Lovely friendly helpful staff also
- 706ren_tah (10/5): Central location, perfect for short stays - I spent 4 nights in the hotel. I liked it. I liked the compact design, all the smart features. The room was small, but comfortable. The location can’t have been any better, everything was in walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful. For short stays, it’s perfect.
- snowy121 (8/5): Pretty standard Premier Inn - Clean and modern hotel inside however the outside let it down with overflowing rubbish bins and this meant litter was all over the floor.
The area itself didn’t feel particularly safe so we didn’t wander off any further than to a restaurant 5 mins walk away.
The room was clean and welcoming. Initially thought bed was too soft but turned out to a very comfortable sleep despite the bed creaking at every movement. Could also hear people in other rooms but after a ridiculous amount of travelling sleep was calling!
The reception staff were not the friendliest and was told there was no parking available and given a map to go and park in multi storey away from the hotel.
Breakfast was very limited - I thought I was just being fussy but my partner who eats anything also said there wasn’t a great selection but the fruit tea was great.
- andreas_neuffer (8/5): Good hotel, excellent location, WiFi a desaster - Good hotel, excellent location, clean cut, no frills but good service. Very friendly service personnel (Helen!) in the restaurant, ok breakfast buffet (cheese not being part of it...). Room is only cleaned when you ask for it (and in our case the toilet was omitted...). Room windows cannot be opened. WiFi is a desaster... :-(
- experiencedtastefull (6/5): Average - Comfortable room, nice breakfast, very well located even if the area in front of it is very dirty and dangerous. Not very friendly/welcoming staff. Overall ok.
- vanessapE7258DI (8/5): Great Central Location Not So Great Rooms - First things first I do have to say that the location of this hotel was amazing and central to everything that we needed. Everything was a 20 minute walk or so, which was extremely helpful for us. On the negatives, for the price that you pay this hotel is honestly not worth it. I would much rather pay an extra hundred dollars or $200 a night and stay somewhere else we paid (~$700£). The rooms are extremely small which I understand is the appeal of Premier Inn but there was barely any walking room in the rooms. Additionally, the bathroom is not even fully closed off so everything you do in there can be heard by the other person you’re with. On our last night I also realized that the duvet we had been sleeping with for two nights had a disgusting stain on it. That was covered up our mattress did as well. Lastly, our carpet was so filthy that I couldn’t even walk around in socks because I felt disgusted. The cleanliness of this hotel needs to be reviewed because you really are not getting what you paid for.
- T9261AKbobs (4/5): Great location but not much else. - This was a Premier "Hub". The location was great, in the centre of the city. But my room (301) was very small. There was no space for a kettle, if you wanted a coffee in the morning before getting washed and dressed you had to get fully dressed and go downstairs to get one (free) in the bar. There was little room for anything else, the bed was squeezed up against the wall so you could only get out one side, OK if you are alone but not good for couples. The toilet/shower was very small too, hardly anywhere to put your toothbrush. It would be better to go for a non-Hub alternative.
- theonlynamenottaken (6/5): Good for a short stay - Location was perfect, easy to navigate from the tram drop off. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearly to choose from.
Easy walk to the bus station, and the castle!
Room was tiny, small area to walk beside the bed, and room was hot - even with temp on lowest setting. Under bed storage was very convenient.
Room was noisy due to water pipes (we think) in walls.
Cleanliness was good.
Luggage storage at reception was great on the day we left, as we left later.
Staff was very helpful!
Good for a short stay.
- V2696PIlisar (2/5): Noisy & Hot Room - Sept 2025 - Rooms
I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in September 2025, unfortunately the room was very very hot even when the temperature was set to 18 Deg C the lowest setting. There are no opening windows so I really struggled, the a/c unit was also very noisy, sounding like gushing water most of the time and clicking noises intermittently.
- FitTraveler10 (8/5): Quick Overnight stay en route to Paris - Stayed one night before we flew out to Paris. Great location. Room very clean. King size bed comfortable. Would stay here again.
- Sheela2011 (10/5): Another wonderful stay at Premier Inn city centre Essen. - We have been staying at the Premier Inn Essen City Centre since 2019 and have always found it excellent in every way.
The location is very convenient and the most important thing is the staff.
Our flight from London was cancelled, but Roberto who was at the desk handled our issue with sympathy and understanding adjusting our booking to start on the next day.
We had booked to stay six nights and were very well looked after by Roberto, Yaso ,Olga, and Soumiya.
We had requested a disabled room due to Surgery I have had. The room was spacious & cleaned regularly by Zahir to a good standard
The breakfast area was very busy on the Saturday and the Sunday as there had been a concert nearbybut the quality of the breakfast is excellent and I would highly recommend it.
The restaurant staff are also very efficient and very helpful
We had another wonderful stay as we had been to visit our new grandson.
We will be going again soon
Thank you, everybody at Premier Inn Essen city Centre.
- Odyssey09919396722 (10/5): Great Clean Budget Hotel - Superb budget hotel. Clean and modern super service and friendly staff. Great location and excellent taxi service from the hotel simply excellent. Good continental breakfast.
- jaha64 (2/5): Unpleasant strong artificial scent pumped into the air in the hotel. - I was unable to stay here because the air was thick with unpleasant artificial scent from an air diffuser. Unfortunately it quickly made me feel unwell. I would not recommend for anyone who suffers with asthma, COPD, migraine, MCS or other health conditions that depend on clean air to stay well.
- monikaw420 (8/5): Great location, great stay, but careful if it gets too hot - We had a great stay at the Hub/Premier Inn. The location in Edinburgh is absolutely fabulous - tram connection to the airport right around the corner, and both the touristy parts and some good shopping as well as restaurants close by and within walking distance. The rooms were on the fifth floor and the view across the Edinburgh rooftops was spectacular.
We loved the rooms (we had the larger rooms) and all amenities. One of the best parts - even if you don't have breakfast, you can get coffee/tea downstairs on a complimentary basis. Not so great was that we did not get someone to clean the rooms while we were there (even though we asked for it explicitly) and we were a bit worried about the AC (which in the end worked, but were also lucky in that temperatures were not super high).
Overall a relaxed and easy atmosphere, not much noise, and super easy in-and-out. Fair prices - in September!
- Maxim (8/5): - Nice hotel and staff, but elevators were both out of service, not fun to go up and down the stairs
- 76domm (10/5): Grest service, great location, highly recommend - Stayed here with my 10 year old son, the staff were amazing, rooms were great, brilliant location next to the train station and 2 min walk to the main high street. Very nice breakfast and lovely bar area. Highly recommend
- Jonathan (8/5): - Easy to find and register
- Richard (10/5): Check out experience excellent - Check in was great, explained free parking for a 2 day stay.
Check out was even better, friendly and helpful
- AMOS (8/5): - No refrigerator and no microwave is a bummer!
- samthegirl (10/5): Excellent and Affordable - I would give this place a 4.5 if I could; Premier Inn was surprisingly a really nice and affordable stay; the only negative I can think of is the size of our tiny family room. It barely had enough room to move around, particularly with luggage. However, everything else was great; the breakfast was one of our favorites of many hotels, they have their own (pay) parking lot, they are located across the street from the Alstadt with many food & shopping options, there's a train station with a grocery store within sight of the hotel, and staff was friendly and helpful. Our room also had AC, which is rare in northern Europe.
Remember to use a key card - and it can be any key card from any hotel, really- to activate the lights. Some of the areas around the downtown and train station can get sketchy at night, but we have a kid so were in relatively early.
- runton (10/5): just right - Had a lovely stay in the Premier Inn Essen, its just by the main railway station and ideally situated for shops and local transport.
Well up to P I standards. We stayed on the top floor with great views of either the train station or the rest of Essen - depending on which window you look out of!
Didn't eat there so can't comment, but all the staff were very helpful - a credit to the company.
There is a Lidl nearby for essential shopping, loads of shops in the station and a short walk to an Aldi. All very handy.
- vanhamelsveldk (10/5): Christmas market - We went for the Christmas Market , so we wanted to be close by. Nice location, close to the city center. The hotel is clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast. It says it has parking, but it is not the own parking lot, just a public parking space close by. So if you have more things to carry in the hotel, unpack in front of the entrance.
