Guest Reviews
- Safari737291 (4/5): Disappointed - Stayed with my family a few nights ago. The room stunk of must as did the bedding, towels etc. It was really grubby and the hotel in general needs a refresh. I've stayed in lots of premier inns so know what the standard is and this isn't it! Dissapointed
- pollycharlotte06 (4/5): Disappointing - i stayed here for one night, the stay was nice however when i got home i had realised i had left something quite valuable in the room, when i phoned the hotel the lady on the phone said she hadn’t heard anything from the cleaners about it however she also said ‘whether they find it or not we will give you a call back tomorrow to let you know’ the following day i didn’t hear anything back so i phoned later in the evening and someone else answered and was very dismissive and said they hadn’t heard anything and there was nothing they could do. this is VERY disappointing, i understand if it hadnt been found, that’s no fault of the reception staff however i am disappointed with how i never got a phone call back and i was shut down by the staff member when i asked if it had been found.
- Travel47367429710 (2/5): Very poor 😢 😞 😕 - This place is a shambles the room it's self is ok but no heating been told it's not working but did say they would bring heater.there is no cups or tea making facilities but did get some also only hand towels but did get a bath towel when asked pub next door closed till 4 pm and £7.05 pint and only larger on tap but there's a pub 2 mins walk and £4.00 pint the flying horse not bad pub this used to be a really good place to stay but give this place a miss plenty of other hotels around here staff helpful not there fault just poor management all booked on there website £59. on day I came it was only £54 so be aware 👍
- nanjizal123 (2/5): Dreadful - Our room had a duvet cover with a hole in it, a blocked sink in the bathroom a the stairwells were particularly dirty. It has a rundown feel about it. The staff (2 very pleasant, friendly and helpful ladies, who were trying to run hotel and restaurant between them) were totally run off their feet.
The restaurant (awaiting refurbishment was cold, unwelcoming and the food mediocre and overpriced )and again the two staff from the hotel tried so hard to provide a friendly service, but on quite a busy Saturday night why only 2 staff.
A very poor Premier Inn experience.
- davidturner055 (10/5): Great stay. - Stayed here 24/11/2025. On arrival we were greeted by Sarah on reception, she made us feel very welcome, very professional, friendly and has a quality that makes you feel you're a special guest. The room was very clean and everything expected at Premier inn. Breakfast the next morning was excellent, the chap serving us was great. We will definitely stay here again.
- A8868XThh (10/5): Great visit, highly recommend - I stay in many Premier Inns due to travelling for work regularly but I have to say the customer service received by this one was excellent. Leon who worked the bar/restaurant is a credit. So polite, helpful and an absolute joy to chat too. He stood out and deserves to be recognised for his hard work. Will definitely return.
- chrissym732 (10/5): Leon made my experience the best ever - Stayed for one night, lady on reception lovely and welcoming.
Went to the restaurant/pub side, met Leon.
What an absolute pleasure he made our dinner time, great service, attentive and just an absolute Gem, feel there will be a lot of people/companies wanting to steal him!
Thank you for pushing me to eat that ice cream! X
- U6285RQbene (10/5): Leon great service. - Leon was great for service and overall experience, overall the hotel was up to good standard with the food and cleanliness.
- Jgsnc69 (2/5): Abysmal. - Awful, Dirt and dust everywhere, Tired smelly decor, Stained carpets everywhere, Staff miserable apart from a couple, Food forever being returned to kitchen, Planes overhead every 2 minutes. Avoid.
- Q8500TFtracyb (10/5): Enjoyable stay. - Excellent premier inn. Location was good. Easy access to public transport. Staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. Excellent breakfast. Clean in all areas.
- 463richardc (2/5): Get your thermals on - We stopped here the night before for our flight to Barbados, have to say it was very disappointing, it was absolutely freezing in the dining area and everyone was either sat with a large hoodie, thick jumper or coat on, we stopped for an evening meal and breakfast and with in a minute or so the food was clap cold because of the low temperature in the dining area, I am not exaggerating by saying you needed a think jumper or coat on to dine. We expected a buffet in the morning for breakfast but it was waiter service and we had to wait a while, it wasn't very warm when it came out add to that the temperature in the dining area, well we didn't finish it as the food got so cold so quickly, needless to say we won't be using this one for future reference.
- nickallison82 (8/5): Lovely staff - Room, food etc all good, and as I would have expected, breakfast lovely. What made the difference was the staff. Everyone was really good. Friendly but not in your face. I would like to single out Leon for recognition (Breakfast Service). He was so polite, friendly, attentive enough and professional. Not just with me, I listened to his interactions with all the guests. I made a point of feeding this back directly to him at the time ( as I feel that people should hear when they do a good job) but I hope his line managers are taking note.
(please turn the heating up in the restaurant area and keep the condiments stocked, otherwise great).
- T4850IDjamesm (8/5): Great night stay - Location is very good customer service was good not much help needed bedroom really comfy the room was very warm on a winters night .
- B6664JUpeterw (8/5): Great location for airport if have early flight - Well located for the airport if flying early, great friendly staff (who were in the Halloween spirit) Rooms a bit dated but clean. Comfy bed and a good start to holiday. Restaurant next door but didn't try.
- Sbb11234 (8/5): Restaurant was a let down - Check-In & Room: Check-in took slightly longer than expected, with a 5-minute wait for a staff member to arrive at the desk. The room itself was clean and met expectations.
The Adjoining Restaurant (Major Issue): The restaurant, which serves both breakfast and evening meals, was a significant let-down. It desperately needs a full revamp; the environment was poor with worn, dirty carpets, sticky tables, and old furniture. To make matters worse, the dining area was freezing cold due to a complete lack of heating. The food was acceptable, but given the high price point, I would strongly recommend guests dine elsewhere. The restaurant also lacked any atmosphere, and the single visible staff member was observed doubling up as both the Receptionist and the bar attendant.
Breakfast: Breakfast itself was decent. While the cooked option must be ordered (not self-service) and was lovely, the continental area needed attention. The coffee machine was broken, and the yogurt was presented unappetizingly in a single large bowl rather than individual pots.
Staff: Despite the operational issues, the three staff members I encountered were absolutely amazing and very helpful. Their positive attitude and excellent service were the highlight of my stay."
- GoPlaces56461265669 (2/5): Shockingly Bad Stay – Premier Inn Old Trafford Has Completely Lost Its Standards - I stayed at the Premier Inn Manchester Old Trafford on 14th November (Room 302, Premier Plus) and it was an absolute disgrace from start to finish.
The so-called Premier Plus room was a joke – filthy, with disgusting wax/glue stuck to the bedside table. Definitely not worth the £118 I paid.
But the staff behaviour was even worse. I’ve never experienced such rude, ignorant, dismissive service anywhere. At check-in, two staff members (Loric and Olivia) ignored me completely, carried on chatting about their shift, then walked off without a word. When they finally passed by again, still no acknowledgement. Shocking attitude for people supposedly working in hospitality.
The older lady on night shift was just as bad – moody, rude, and openly ignoring guests. During check-out she refused to serve me, skipped over me and served others who arrived after me. There is clearly an underlying issue with how certain customers are treated in this hotel.
For a regular Premier Inn customer, this was a wake-up call. The staff here seriously need retraining, the hotel needs mystery shoppers, and Premier Plus rooms should not be mis-sold when they are nowhere near standard.
Overall: disgusting staff attitude, dirty room, no professionalism whatsoever.
Old Trafford Premier Inn is a complete embarrassment to the brand.
Avoid if you value basic respect and cleanliness.
- suehM1595QX (4/5): Not great - Hotel is ok although the welcome was a bit cool. Food in the restaurant was not great and the service was worse. Burnt fish and chips, cold burger and a lot of food not available, just waiting for my banoffee cheesecake but there’s no banana ….
- Y2200EUkarenb (10/5): Great Experience - Perfect location for a night at Old Trafford. The staff can't do enough for you. The room was clean and fresh. The evening meal was great, I took the meal deal which was very reasonable, I have to say as someone who stays in hotel regularly for work the breakfast was well worth it, fresh, no dried up bacon etc. Fully recommend the dining.
- H1969ZOjustinb (10/5): Amazing service from Leon - Room was lovely and clean, dinner was also amazing, special shout out to Leon and his amazing service, was extremely friendly all evening, kept on checking if everything was alright. He is real asset to this hotel.
- godswilldesk (8/5): Comfortable Stay with Helpful Staff, but Carpets Need Refreshing - I stayed in a Premier Plus room at the Premier Inn Old Trafford and had a pleasant experience overall. The check-in process was smooth, and although I did not use the self-service kiosk, the staff at the desk were efficient and courteous. Throughout my stay, the staff were consistently helpful and largely polite, which set a good tone.
The Premier Plus room was comfortable, the bed was good, the heating worked well, the ultimate WiFi was fit for purpose and very fast, and there was a steady supply of hot water. The bathroom was particularly clean, which I appreciated. I also enjoyed the meals in the restaurant, as the food was well prepared and tasted good.
The only area that needs attention is the carpet in the room and corridor, especially in the room. It appears badly worn and heavily black-stained in several places. Updating or replacing it would make a noticeable improvement to the overall feel of the hotel. Apart from that, I was satisfied with my stay and the service provided.
I would consider staying here again once this aspect has been addressed.
- 419jonp (10/5): Still feels like home. - Another great stay at my favourite Premier Inn. The location is great, with the picturesque wharf side a minute away. The tram is also very close, which gets you into town in a few minutes.
The staff are the biggest strength of this place. Friendly and helpful without being overbearing.
Although I'm an Arsenal fan, I'm even getting used to staying next to Old Trafford stadium.
For a mid-range luxury mini-break, I think it's hard to beat.
- dhrcprice (2/5): Beware of £100 parking fines!! - The hotel facilities were fine, pretty much like any other Premier Inn. However, the receptionist didn't ask me for my car registration or inform me that I needed to register it at checking. 10 days later I received a demand for a £100 parking fine from the company that manages the carpark.
I did eventually manage to successfully appeal this after a lot of phone calls to various people, but this should never of happened in the first place. They advertise this hotel as having free parking and they should inform you about the need to register your vehicle when checking in.
- michelebK2839ZP (10/5): Great stay in Manchester - Excellent stay. I stay at many PI hotels for work, this hotel was the best i have experienced. Staff offered an excellent level of service. Hotel was clean and well run. Location was great and good value for money. I would recommend.
- lemasurier (10/5): Great stay - A lovely friendly premier inn. Friendly staff and very clean and comfortable rooms. Free parking.
Great breakfast next door in the restaurant, lovely staff. Simon in particular, attentive, friendly and helpful.
- dave66672 (4/5): Needs a good refurb. - Pre airport travel, bedroom looked okay on arrival and we unpacked and went out for a meal. It was only later we noticed the bathroom was a disaster. Would have complained then but we're leaving in 4 hours for a flight and it was too much hassle. Stayed here before and know it's not the best premier inn but this was the worst room we have stayed in. Cheap for a reason.
- RickEirew (10/5): Highly recommended - exceptional staff - Have not stayed here for a few years and was pleased to find it just as comfortable and friendly as it used to be. The room was very clean and quiet, with a nice comfy bed and big bathroom and lovely hot shower. In the bar in the evening we had exceptional and attentive service from Leon, and in the morning Simon worked non stop with the breakfast and his cheerful banter, couldn't do enough for everyone despite being rushed off his feet. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay here next time we are in the area.
- X2031JVvanessac (10/5): Great service from Leon. - Great service from Leon. He was lone working and ran the whole restaurant delivering great attentive service. He’s a credit to you. Great communication skills and really friendly. He recommended things on the new menu. He kept on top of all of the tables. Well done Leon 👍
- courtneyd859 (10/5): We’ll absolutely be back - We stayed here before heading to the Katy Perry concert! Quick check in to get our room key! Clean hotel and room! Very friendly and helpful staff! Anything we needed they got/helped us with! Would definitely be back!
- Robbied93 (10/5): Great hotel - First time we have stayed in this hotel. On arrival the outside did look tired and needs painting. Went in to reception and the staff are friendly and very helpful.
Our room was on ground floor and was very clean and tidy. Always a good sleep in these beds.
Breakfast was amazing and the lad that showed us to our table was really helpful and happy.
We had a great stay at this hotel and would go back again next year.
- CiaraR91 (6/5): Good value for money stay - We stayed here for one night, myself and my two children. We arrived quite late after a long drive & was pleased to find the restaurant was still open. Check in was efficient & the girl was friendly. We went to get some food but the place was very dirty, most tables had dirty plates and glasses on & the table we did find was wet/sticky. We had to ask the server to take our order after being sat down for a while. She was very pleasant but wrote our order on the back of a menu off the next table. We had been waiting around 30 minutes for our food before a waiter came over to confirm what we had actually ordered. We then waited another 20 minutes before our food arrived. We only ordered a linguine, some fries, a side salad and a kids burger meal. The beans on the kids meal were very dry and had clearly been left on the plate for a while and my linguine was cold & not mixed in with the sauce. The lettuce in the salad was brown in parts also. The room was okay, did the job but I didn’t expect much for £70 for the three of us (including breakfast) the bath was a bit grubby but the beds were very comfortable & we had a great nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning was really lovely, we all enjoyed a hot breakfast and my daughter had a pastry. Parking was £8 per day if you’re a guest which was pretty good.
It did the job, I’d stay again if I needed a hotel in Manchester for a night for business but I’d pick somewhere I little nicer if it was for leisure or more than one night.
- 791zahidq (4/5): Needs repairs - Room 209 needs multiple repairs: windows had poor seal so there was constant cold draft and noise from the car park all night. Heater kept shutting off a few hours. Multiple broken fixtures in the room and bathroom.
- Mr_G_1966_12 (2/5): Dire - Terrible bed, terrible room. Get an AirBnB.
Double bed was two very worn mattresses put together. Bed sheets that did not fit the bed, they were smaller than the mattress! A fan going off all the time and the only way to turn off was to turn the fuse off that controls the lights!! Intermittent pump sounding off every couple of minutes.
Ended up driving home after two hours of this.
- DayTrip37692283633 (8/5): Consistent Premier Inn - Ridiculously Convenient location for the NCP airport parking. Bathroom a little tired, bedroom fine. Consistent with what we'd expect from premier Inn. Dinner was alright. Breakfast on point. The lad serving was a superhero. Not sure if we are nameing names but big up I**N. Top notch Premier Inn worker.
- carllI1199XA (8/5): Basic hotel for short stay - Nice hotel across the road from Manchester United football club and also right next to metro train station for easy travel to Manchester town centre and the Trafford centre
Rooms are ok got a good night sleep (as best as you can in different place) hotel could have given more than 1 towel to share between 2 people. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was hot and tasted really good with also a proper bean coffee machine. All in all a nice place to stay for a short visit to Manchester
- joshsZ3322ID (10/5): Simon excellent service - Simon in the restaurant was brilliant, so friendly and kind, running the breakfast on his own on a busy Sunday morning after the football. Made you feel really welcome, give this man a pay rise!
- H6237IGemmac (2/5): Not the best Premier Inn - This premier Inn is really poor, on arrival the family room we were given did not have beds made for the children and smelt of damp. The window was open which we can only assume was to diminish the smell. The next room we were given also smelt of damp but had two double beds. This hotel really needs an update.
- 104stever (10/5): Great location - Great location, friendly, rooms are a good size, clean, shops plenty of places to eat nearby. Next to the canal which is a nice walk
- Maldoc (6/5): Premier inn standards are slipping. - Usual premier inn but old building so in ground floor rooms every footstep above can be heard. Baby elephants walking up and down from 6 am.
Reception told us we had to book breakfast and only time slot available was 9 am. Also told we couldn't bring in guests.
The restaurant manager told us neither were true. Obviously no joined up message from hotel to restaurant even though both are run by premier inn.
We have regularly stayed here for past 16 years and it's the first time we received such poor service
- C1190TVedk (10/5): Great stay. - Emilie was brilliant, she made our stay a great experience. Hashtag Emilie Red Hair Genius Incredible Service A Whole Load Of Caring
- robertjacobs032 (10/5): Another 10/10 stay - Perfect location just outside the city centre, staff friendly and helpful with good local knowledge. Room was clean and tidy upon arrival with the usual very comfortable bed. Breakfast good value with everything you would want available.
- 843GregB (4/5): Premier inn with awful staff - Arrived here after a long drive and was checked in quickly. From this point it was all downhill.
Got into my room and had no towels, musty smelling bathroom and blood stains on the pillow. Asked for this to be cleaned or another room to be told no rooms available and would send someone to change pillows - still waiting! Thankfully there is more pillows
I can use but not the point.
Went to try and get something to eat from the restaurant at 1915hrs and walked in to a half full restaurant with plenty of empty tables and got an abrupt “nothing until 1945” before I even had a chance to open my mouth. So I just told her no thanks and walked away.
I’ve never had an issues with premier inn until now and I will never return to this one either.
I’ve no idea what is in the water but every staff member is so rude and sour faced it’s just makes for a terrible experience. Given its location sadly it takes in the cash but staff need training on how to meet and greet people. Maybe it’s just a Manx thing??
- louisehF4406LY (10/5): Would definitely stay again - The staff were exceptionally helpful & friendly both in the hotel & restaurant. The room was clean, comfortable and the right temperature. The quality of food in the restaurant was good, albeit a little bit tired but that didn’t cause any problems. Big shout out to Simon behind the bar on Saturday night and Leon who was on breakfast duty. Both went above & beyond to make our stay great
- 994niallc (8/5): Man U Chelsea trip - Fab location and staff. Aimeet in the restaurant couldn’t do enough for you! No noise at night and great atmosphere. Highly would
Recommend.
- RClarke100 (10/5): One of the best Premier Inns in Manchester! - Stayed here from Wednesday to Friday for the Lady Gaga concert at Co-Op live with friends. Manchester has many Premier Inns in ideal locations and this one is no exception. Just round the corner from the O2 Victoria Warehouse and Old Trafford and the tramlink and bus stop right outside - it's great and easy to get around the city! Lots of parking as well but if you are planning to stay in this hotel - book in advance because they use this car park for football matches at Old Trafford! Had no issue checking in with the receptionist on that day - made us feel welcome. Room was a great size as well. Went to the Thyme restaurant in the hotel and the breakfast was superb along with the service! Wi-Fi was slow in the room at times, it was good but not great. Will definitely stay here again!
- Roving26409506070 (4/5): Running toilet nonstop - Hotel was ok up until I noticed the toilet was running none stop by the point I noticed at around 9pm I thought i could live with the noise but it kept me awake most of the night I was up for 3am for a flight anyway. When I mentioned to the lady at checkout she never seemed surprised about the issue. This is my first bad experience with premier inn I don't think i will be back at this hotel
- B1944SHscottw (2/5): Premier inn is what you expect but the place next door - Recpetion lady was lovely and helpful, Room was fine. Bar/restaurant next door (mersey farm) is terrible. The guy behind the bar is very rude. Unfortunately i can't find mersey farm on trip advisor otherwise this review would be for them
- jojW2108BR (8/5): Great experience! - Great service from agata and mollie. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Couldn't do anything more to help us! Definitely would come back again! Great location and really convenient.
- V3462DIlucyh (10/5): Hotel bar - Agata & Mollie we’re great, really helpful with our wine choice! Bar is nice and within walking distance of Victoria Warehouse, which was really useful for our event.
- DizzyButBusy (10/5): Fabulous breakfast! - We arrived late at the hotel but found it clean, comfortable and a large bedroom. Just what we needed after a day of travelling and flying.
Have just enjoyed a fabulous breakfast. Thanks must go to the chef but also the waiter Leon was extremely efficient and friendly. It was a joy to talk with him. Thanks Leon for your hospitality and infectious smile 😊
- W1283NYclareg (2/5): Terrible - Terrible hotel, rooms smell damp carpets filthy and badly needs updated. We did not sleep well due to the stench in both rooms so not well rest for the long flight ahead of us. We will not be back and would not recommend.
- amandaeG9561AB (10/5): Great Stay - Great stay. Warm welcome, very clean room and bathroom comfy beds, fab breakfast and friendly staff.
I would recommend staying here.
- 38adityab (6/5): Make you pay for workable WiFi - Rooms are meh given the price. Good location for football. TERRIBLE WIFI - make you pay for workable wifi. One thing is pay for really fast wifi, but my basic internet use was not covered.
- 850annm (10/5): Lovely place - Simon was lovely and helpful. The best bar man! Would definitely recommend this hotel...clean rooms. The food was very good too.
- JohnsReviews08 (2/5): Serious personal safety issue - We were allocated room 31, which has connecting doors with another room.
On entry the connecting doors were closed with settee placed in front of it, both connecting doors were unlocked, although we had no reason to suspect this.
While in the room two young occupants in the connecting room decided to open the door, push the settee out of the way and try make entry to our room. Fortunately my partner, in a state of undress, heard a noise, shouted and they ceased with an apology then heard from the other room.
On reporting to reception no resolution was offered other than the doors being locked, we were provided with the guest feedback card and the person on reception considered the matter closed. I did not consider this matter closed.
We were not automatically offered a different room and were expected to remain occupying a room my partner could no longer feel safe in. I had to insist on a move and had time/circumstances allocated we would have left the hotel and gone elsewhere.
What might have happened had it been adults making entry to the room?
What if it had been a lone woman and it had been 2am, or it had been young children and someone had entered their room?
The safety / security implications here are huge and you might have thought Premier Inn would want to take immediate action to contact us, however a week on and they have not.
I would think carefully about booking a room with a major hotel chain who don't seem to be able to treat such a basic thing as your safety in a room you're paying for as a priority.
- Shannonalana21 (10/5): Great hotel to stay if flying from Manchester airport - Stayed here for one night prior to flying from Manchester airport. I've got to say for the price I was very impressed. Friendly staff, big room with a comfortable bed and a nice shower. The hotel itself is slightly tired but for the price I will definitely stay here again when flying from the airport.
- gazjen (4/5): Needs updated - We have always stayed here when flying from Manchester Airport, unfortunately this could be our last, the price is good but the rooms & bathrooms need updated badly, the restaurant, although its obvious its having work done to it, I found was dark and uninviting, not for us for a while -will go elsewhere until renovated and updated..
- scottw594 (10/5): 10/10 - Excellent service excellent food - Jo was on hand at all times will recommend and we will be back when travelling to Manchester Airport the next day absolutely perfect :-)
- Graham150 (8/5): Stay, but don't eat in the restaurant - Good hotel for a night's stay, avoid the restaurant, the food and service are shockingly bad, even for a drink it takes you ten minutes to find a member of staff to serve you
- Paterson83 (6/5): Basic - Stayed as we were flying from Manchester early doors and needed something local.
Positives. 4 mins on the train from heald green to airport it’s literally on your doorstep.
Reception staff friendly and helpful. Good kebab shop and a Tesco express round the corner.
Cons. Very dated and smelt abit foisty. Couldn’t open the window wide through the night to let some smell out due to cage on the window and also on flight path (expected) which was noisy.
Overall for the price and location would stay again, did what we needed but certainly in need of a refurb.
Also, just to add. They do a good deal on food for evening meal and breakfast especially if staying with kids but we didn’t use it.
- Jet59166578436 (10/5): My room i got what I asked for when I booked it and the staff were very helpful and always on hand if needed I will be staying a - I have just come back from a weekend stay and I esten st the restaurant of the hotel on Friday and Saturday night and we we served by jo and she looked after us and also all the staff are very helpful and I will be staying st the heald Green Premier inn again next month
- Susan (10/5): - Excellent accommodation, spotlessly clean, great breakfast, convenient location to Manchester city & airport.
