Guest Reviews
- L1666FIkevinc (2/5): Probably never again - We have visited Buchanan Galleries at least twice a year for the past 12 years always enjoying our accommodation and food but I must say that our recent visit was far from pleasant but in fact abysmal, our plus room was fine but it is starting to look a bit shabby around the furnishing but this can be accepted due to the high volume off residents, the only faults with the room were that we had no coffee and only one bath towel, our main issue was the evening meal, it was very quiet when we went in with only about a dozen people dining but we were surprised they were turning people away, we ordered drinks and our meal and waited, our drinks came after 25 mins and whilst waiting for our meals we were offered four meals that were not ours as the girl did not know who they were for and she left a bowl of chips at the cash till, eventually after 50 mins our meals arrived and straight away we told her that it was over cooked (burnt) and cold, she took them back and returned 20 secs later with the same food to which I said it is the same food and still in the same condition, she then offered me the bowl of chips she left on the counter 15 mins previous at this stage I asked to see the manager as the girl did not know what to do, the duty manager was very apologetic and agreed but stated that they just did not have enough staff to provide a service, she offered us a full refund but we then had to go into Glasgow to have our meal, I must admit the staff we spoke to were very caring and fully understood our frustration but had to admit that they are totally understaffed in all areas. I think this may have been our last visit to Premier Inns if this is the type off experience they are providing and deem acceptable, I would just like to state again that this experience was by no means the fault of the staff that were on duty but more what is expected of them by their Managers and employers.
- 349elsiec (2/5): 1 - Shocking service, no bedding g on one of bed went down to reception twice and said they fix 8t for me they did not went down at 8.30 to ask to order food to my room. She said no sorry restaurant full I said I don't want to sit in. Restaurant I want food to my room she said sorry fully booked Shocking they can not cater for paying guests will never stay hear again .
- georgegK963OY (10/5): Top of the range hotel experience. - Much better than expected visit . Must have been recently refurbished ? Clean and freshly carpeted throughout . I was really impressed with the exceptionally high standard of our room ..spotless and fresh ..not a scuff or chip anywhere and a great modern walk in shower .Add to this a great breakfast the next morning and I felt I had five star standards at an excellent rate 👌.
- dianecU2788EH (6/5): Good Hotel Let Down With Some Staffing Problems - This hotel is in a great location for shops and The Royal Concert Hall. We have used it many times before but on this occasion were disappointed in the rudeness of one staff member at breakfast. Shona told us we couldn't get any breakfast as we hadn't booked and they were far too busy. She didn't offer any other options so we were left to eat outside the hotel. We encountered her again when checking out to get car park ticket validated and she was very brusque and unfriendly. Perhaps under some pressure/short staffed.
On the other hand we had a lovely lady who checked us in personally and was most helpful.
Our room was as always comfortable and clean. Once again found the bar to be poorly stocked for a variety of drinks.
Probably would return because of the location but feel some staff need extra training in customer care
- pamelawV3966SB (10/5): Room 5, Regular guest - Im staying in Motherwell very often, usually in room 5. its my favourite. Rooms are always spotless, the team are all the time smiling, friendly, talkative. Hotel is maybe a bit of tired but The Team are so lovely
- G198KXcharless (10/5): the best stay - the best stay. room was clean, bed amazing, reception team could not be better, Ewelina was so nice, easy to add meal deal and book the table in Beefeater
- richardgK7041KZ (10/5): Fantastic stop - This hotel had all the facilities we have come to expect from a Premier Inn especially the comfortable beds, however, what set this stay apart from others was the staff on the front desk. Abbie and Janice were absolutely amazing in the level of detail they gave us on the local area and assistance with our onward journey, nothing was too much trouble, they went above and beyond. My wife was ill one night and Abbie again came to the rescue with an extra duvet to keep her warm. We wouldn’t hesitate to stop at this hotel again
- madvtraveller (4/5): Okay room, poor customer service - The only positive experience about my stay in this hotel was the room - it was a standard room that was comfortable with no issues. The customer service, on the other hand, was lacking. When I went to check-in, I was told by the front desk staff to utilise the self-service computer which took 3x longer than if he checked me in.
In the evening, I went to the restaurant/bar to order a drink and dessert, only to be waiting for 10 minutes whilst being ignored by the barkeep behind the counter. When I finally caught someone’s attention and ordered a dessert, I was told it would be a 10 minutes wait, for which I sat at a table. 30 minutes later, no one came by - and the restaurant was pretty empty.
In the morning when I went for breakfast, I waited by the “wait to be seated” sign for 10 minutes until someone came, after which I was sat at a table and waited for another 15 minutes. After getting fed up, I walked around a wall and found that it was a help yourself breakfast buffet, something the staff could have mentioned instead of just seating me.
Overall, the customer service of the staff really ruined the stay.
- scottiegirl64 (6/5): Comfortable and convenient - The rooms are clean and comfortable as always, and the location is great for us when visiting family in the area. However the hotel is well used and a little tired now, the rooms are in need of an upgrade.
- trevannie (8/5): Fine Central Premier Inn - Well positioned PI. Booked a room with a view on 17 floor which was large, clean and a walk in shower which was great……nice Fluffy towels as well. Some folk had a bit of trouble using the machines to check-in but staff around to help. Only down side was the extremely poor wi-fi…
- Aisleena (4/5): Won't be returning - Got the the check in desk where a member of staff was standing. I asked to check in and was told to use the machine. I asked to check in with a person. He said I had to check in with the machine, and that's just how things are done now. He then walked away. I was very annoyed at the extremely poor customer service. I wanted to check in with a person, not a machine!
Because of the size of the hotel, sometimes there is a bit of a wait for a lift.
The room was as expected for a premier inn. Location is good, very central.
Due to the poor customer service, I will not use this hotel again.
- nickmacd (8/5): Good location and very convinent for Glasgow City Centre - We got the room at fairly short notice, and for what turned out to be a pretty decent price. I went up considerably if you had wanted to book it shorter notice around the days that we stayed. The location is good, just a couple minute walk from Queen Street station and in the heart of the main shopping area. The entrance is pretty utilitarian being an uninspiring lobby directly off the street and the reception and public areas are then tucked away around a corner once you have made it to the second floor. I don't feel it has the same appeal as other hotels, but their attention to detail and quality is generally a price level above this. The "automatic" check-in system is easy enough to do if you are happy with tech, but is not immediately obvious, but a member of staff was very quick to point people in the right direction and make it pretty painless , and it allows you to have multiple keys which was handy, as we had separate itineraries. The room was very good, clean and spacious with special not being the modern extra large shower which is always something nice to have, especially on a cold November in Scotland. The bed is a double, and smaller than we are used to but it was ample for two people to sleep comfortably, and to be fair it was comfortable with pillows that were just right. The Nespresso style coffee maker was a nice touch, but only four pods. You can get extra milk, tea, coffee sachets for free in reception if you need a top-up but for one night the quantity was just about right. Noise - there was none , found the room very quiet and relaxing. The Air-Con also worked well and it only goes down to 19degC, but it actually felt cooler and was perfect for sleeping. We never used any of the eating / drinking / social ares as we were out at an event and only really used the hotel for sleeping , but between the hotels own facilities and the many nearby eateries, cafes, shops and pubs etc you won't be stuck.
Our only negative was the Wi-Fi , and it actually worked really well and is ample fast enough for streaming TV, Netflix etc, BUT ... I had paid for a Premium Plus room and was advertised as complementary Ultimate WiFi, but it was not a seamless operation and it was only a while after checking in that I got a login code emailed through AFTER I had paid for a days login !!! ... mildly annoying and very much a first world problem but when I actually needed it in a hurry for the bandwidth I had no option to pay for it. Other hotels I stay at generally link it to a booking directly via name+email+room number and the login is seamless and automatic , maybe something to be improved on
Overall a good place to stay and if I can get it at the good rate that I did this time I would definitely stay here again before I would look at the other more expensive name brands nearby
- X1182PVgemmal (10/5): The experience was great we will definitely be back - It was a very good experience and the hotel was nice and clean and the food was great at the breakfast they had offered a really good choice and the view from the room was great we will definitely be back in June for a few days
- Flavio (10/5): - Equipe atenciosa, quarto e café da manhã excelentes!
- johngH6269VR (10/5): Great location & comfortable hotel - The hotel is in a great location - less than 5 minutes from Buchanan Street Buas Station, directly across the street from the Royal Concert Hall and close to The Pavillion & Theatre Royal.
Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. We had a full breakfast which was plentiful and tasty. We didn't eat dinner there, but it did look popular.
- R7275VOcoling (10/5): Murder mystery night - A very comfortable and pleasant stay with great staff and facilities perfect for our trip easy check in /out and great room
- J6212UVpaulp (6/5): Not good - Normally great value and clean, this time seem to have the not good room.
used towel on back of bathroom door, tv not working heater gave of a lot of noise in the night,
- emmamU7607PU (8/5): Good👌 - Location spot on, close to Glasgow. Hotel itself is standard, receptionist are all very welcoming and lovely. House keepers lovely too. Rooms are just basic, has all you need, tv, kettle, coffee, tea etc. clean room, could do with upgrade as hotel itself inside and outside looks worn and tired esp carpets throughout. Beds were comfortable, Bathroom clean, shower nice, plenty of towels. Food in the beefeater we only had breakfast. Was OK, hot food made to order and also continental there to choose from yourself. Would def stay again as it was just a base for us to sleep for 3 nights as a family of 2 adults and 2 children.
- 553kirstyt (10/5): shopping trip - Central to all the places we wanted to go. Hotel was very clean and bed was very comfy. Would stay again for another shopping trip
- PoppyAlice (8/5): Overall a nice stay but room for improvement - Overall we enjoyed our stay. Plus points are the modern decor, nice breakfasts (if you can get one!), great views from the 18th floor, and very good central location.
A few areas for improvement - the ‘next generation’ style room looks nice before luggage is unpacked, but it’s impractical - no drawer at all and about 6 hangers to share between 3 people in the room staying 3 nights! The older style Premier Inn rooms are actually more practical with drawers and more storage space.
Hotel has 18 floors and restaurant seemed too small to cope at breakfast- they were frequently turning away anyone who hadn’t booked breakfast the night before - including us - so do book breakfast in advance if you want to eat there!
Reception and restaurant seemed understaffed with the same one overworked person trying to manage reception and people arriving to the restaurant simultaneously. As a result there were frequently people hanging around reception looking for a staff member to help them.
So in summary, overall a nice stay but with some areas for improvement.
- MoDoodlebug75 (10/5): Ideally located and very clean - Ideal location, with bus/train stations nearby. Royal Concert Hall just across the road. On site bar/restaurant. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds. Room came with en suite, toiletries, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities and TV. Great view across the city from room 804!
- carolinehB1640MJ (8/5): Great Hotel - The hotel was good value and the location was good for us as we were visiting family for a celebration. The room was a bit tired and dated looking but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was good value and the produce was fresh and the staff were helpful and friendly.
- coogietours (10/5): Perfect stay! - Booked for an overnight stay as we were going to a gig in Hydro.
Smooth booking in. Room quiet, spacious and spotless. Pleasantly surprised !
Breakfast next morning excellent! Hats off to staff. Everything replenished promptly and really well prepared- thank you 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
- P2952QTjimm (10/5): Great city centre hotel - Another great stay at this excellent hotel. Great city centre location close to transport hubs and restaurants. Ideal for Royal Concert Hall and Pavilion theatre where we had shows booked. Friendly knowledgeable staff , clean and comfortable rooms. Buffet breakfast was great value for money.
- Z825AUtimd (8/5): Excellent location, clean and comfortable - We stay in this Premier Inn several times a year. It is very convenient for central Glasgow and the bus and train stations. The fecilities are as one would expect from Premier Inns. We've always found it clean and comfortable. We recommend it.
- AliScotland1 (8/5): Budget Friendly Hotel - Central location, cheap and on the whole pretty clean. Good check in and out times and parking within a 5 minute walk which cost about £15 for 24 hours. On this stay, the room wasn’t up to the standard of I’m used to from a premier inn. Stain on pillow case of spare pillow, Kirby grip on the floor. Also the shower and hair gel had been watered down and was next to useless. However, no major issues.
- 704islac (10/5): Clean,friendly,approachable and Tidy. - This is a great family-friendly approachable hotel!
It is very affordable and is clean and tidy.
I recommend this as it's in town centre but surprisingly not too noisy but if you are sensitive to noise then maybe bring earplugs.
- L5936BGcraigs (10/5): Really recommend - Really nice and clean would recommend to any one haley gave me the time and spoke to me and made me feel welcome haley was really helpful in every way keep up the good work
- lindabG5860UA (10/5): Good location really good Premier Inn - Our favourite Premier Inn love staying here great location for shops but also station and subway friendly helpful staff every time we have stayed our rooms have been great

- argulav2025 (10/5): Friendly staff - We have been staying here a while for work and always receive a warm welcome from Haley when we arrive back to the hotel late!
- 698vamsim (10/5): Good Hotel around the place - Great hotel with good location and friendly staff who are always on hand to help. We like this hotel very much always enjoy our stay each time.
- Linda (8/5): - We needed lodging for one night. The room was clean and comfortable. LOVED the bath tub! So many hotels have gone to shower only; I dislike that choice. Adjacent restaurant, Beefeater, was friendly, kind, & tasty. Parking lot & walkway were needing some attention. They were dirty and not smoothy paved.
- 711ushac (2/5): Disappointed - Stayed here 6 September. Receptionist was very friendly no problems checking in. Got to my family room looked clean and tidy. Later during the evening just before getting into bed noticed stains on the bed covers which I was disgusted by. My child used the toilet and realised the toilet wasn't flushing. After several attempts the toilet flushed. As it was a little cold we decided to put the heating on and it didn't work . So again disappointed. The following morning when I awoke I felt itchy on my thigh when I looked i had 4 bites. As you can imagine I was fuming. I reported everything to the reception who offered me another room. I refused to take it but changed to another hotel. During the night there was a lot noise of shouting and banging on a door. After reporting my complaint to Whitbread asking for a full refund they partially refund me a sum of £45 after paying £95. I will be appealing to this decision. Very disappointed in the way I've been treated . This is not what I expected from Premier Inn 😡
- C6709OPalexf (10/5): Great, 10/10 will be staying again if in area - Easy check in/out, great room for price as rather large (paid £64 for one night), room/bathroom was extremely clean, bed very comfortable looking at buying a mattress for my own bed due to sleeping that well in it
- 767lesleyannem (10/5): Excellent service - Check in was friendly and ruairi was excellent he was so helpful. Room was clean and comfy. Honestly couldn’t fault the hotel or staff
- 865zakariyab (10/5): Lovely place - Came here after late flight from Edinburgh airport, staff checked us in, very polite and the breakfast was beautiful #zak
- nicholasbG709UH (10/5): Very good comfy experience - Good clean rooms.
Very friendly staff both in the hotel and restaurant. Rooms are more than adequate.
Foods very good with no long waiting time
- misskspence (10/5): Great value for money - Great value for money, staff very nice & friendly. Bed was extremely comfortable. Good location. Room was spotless. Will definitely return
- Andrew (10/5): Nice pit stop hotel - Robert on reception was accommodating when I arrived around 11pm to no restaurant being open… that was a long day/drive… all staff friendly and helpful. The only negative was I couldn’t pump the shower gel as the metal case was in a weird spot… great breaky.
- lisamC9970JS (10/5): Very clean - Fantastic people on the desk. Receptionist very nice and smiling. Reception looks very old but very clean. Usually premier inn are not so clean 😉. Here high standard with cleaning ☺️
- markopO3635AI (10/5): - All good, location, room. The team perfect 💙 all receptionist should be like the team from PI motherwell. Table for the dinner booked and taxi by Ewelina. Nightshift lady very nice 👌 a little expensive stay but we will be back 😘
- L170GXchrisg (4/5): Arrived to unmade room - Booked a twin room for an additional £5, arrived to a room with a double bed and an unmade sofa bed. When reported to reception I was told where to find the bedding in the room and was handed sheets and pillowcases to make the bed up myself!
