Guest Reviews
- michaelmI6453HQ (10/5): One night for bsiness - I was there for one night only for a training course, I felt welcomed after a long drive in the rubbish weather, the check in gentleman saw I was in need of refreshment and straight after check in directed me to the bar and restaurant, there was no food available at the time I arrived which was fine and not expected, but the coffee was lovely followed by a well earned beer,
keep up the good work team PI Derby east
- Mrs_LLK (8/5): A great team - I stayed one night for work. I have been before and yet again the hotel was really accessible, easy to park and check in. The place was clean and quiet and just what i needed. It was a busy night and i could tell there were some staff shortages that night, but despite being team members down the service was fantastic and people didn't let any stress come through. So a massive shout out to Callum, Aisa and Jack for keeping everything moving. Thanks so much, another happy customer.
- Global295587 (8/5): Derby Reunion - We were a group of 20 and thanks go to Callum, Riley and Darren for making our gathering such a success. We were asked to forward menu requirements in advance which allowed Callum to organise tables and make any last minute changes on arrival. The food was well received and thanks go to Jack in the kitchen. We were well attended and informed all evening which allowed our group to relax and enjoy the experience.
- Freedom783569 (10/5): Outstanding - Fantastic evening. Service was excellent. Callum went above and beyond to accommodate our group. There were only 5 of us but there was a large party booked in the restaurant which meant the other staff were stretched. Riley was great on the bar. The sirloin steak was outstanding - thank you Jack for ensuring mine was blue and my cousins was BTF. Callum asked specifically what was meant by ‘blue’ to ensure my steak was perfect. Darren went above and beyond to make our meal fabulous. Thank you.
- R519DVjayd (10/5): Brilliant stay - Brilliant stay at the derby east
Darren was a pleasure to deal with! Very helpful and friendly.
Rooms very comfortable and relaxing
- simong1968 (8/5): Good but need more staff - Food good but not enough staff. Check inn staff also in restaurant at busy time. Not there fault but need more staff. Rooms great and breakfast good had a take away breakfast and all good
- U5915VNrogerb (6/5): Disappointed - The Hotel was ok, the evening meal was not, evening staff were poor but the morning staff were fine, no noise at night but very noisey in the morning before 9am, stayed there before but I felt it’s gone downhill
- 649samanb (4/5): Poor Hotel. - Very negative experience. Breakfast was very poor as the food was extremely rubbery, cheap and bland. When we asked for more food to be brought out it took ages and the staff seemed to get annoyed about the request, even though we payed for an unlimited buffet breakfast. When we went down for Dinner a waiter called Riley was extremely unprofessional with him sitting down on a chair and doing his shoe laces while taking our order. Our Cutlery was still dirty and not cleaned properly. My Food order had a huge hair in it, and the chicken was burnt and rubbery. When we complained the staff didn't even apologise or offer any compensation. Corridors had a dirty cheesy smell and the lighting in the rooms are poor. Highly recommend booking elsewhere, not worth the money as we got scammed.
- lucyannda24 (10/5): Excellent premier Inn - Very clean inside and out. Exceptional staff. Requested a disabled room all was what I asked for. Didn't eat there this time. But did last year food was great plenty of it and choice.
- GrahamB1790 (10/5): Premier Inn, Derby East.... Brilliant Staff - Premier Inn, Derby East, Pride Park
We had a lovely stay here, easy to park, then the reception staff were very helpful and polite.
Room was lovely, clean and just what we needed, we both slept like logs, all night.
When we went down for breakfast, we were greeted by lovely, helpful and courteous staff and made us feel very wlecome and told us exactly what to do and let them know if we needed anything at all.
The staff were the best, just really nice people.
We will be back, next time we visit family.
Thank you all
- A4243VFem (10/5): Helpful and friendly darren - Darren was very attentive and very helpful. Helped us through the ordering process. And guided us throught the menu. Will definitely recommend the food.
- Raqueelze (10/5): Warm, friendly, clean and amazing customer service - Chloe and Johnny were so accommodating and super. After a long drive back from alton towers late at night (due to accident) their customer service and attention to detail was what was needed, especially with kids.
Good location, clean room, good food. Amazing for price.
- 1stYogatim (8/5): Above average service. - I've stayed in a number of different Premier Inns over the years and they're always a reliable option, though the room size and layout can be variable.
We had a quiet, but small room.
I'm writing a review because the I was so impressed by the quality of the full breakfast.
Simon clearly takes pride in his role, as even though they were the usual ingredients, it was cooked to a superior standard and was easily the best breakfast I've eaten in any Premier Inn.
I'll also add, the overall service was friendly and helpful. The young guy on reception when we arrived late on Thursday night, stepped out from the desk to open the door for us without being asked. It's those little things that stand out.
- 539isobelh (10/5): Clean, cheap, and just what we needed after a long day! - Cant go wrong with Premier Inn - very reasonable price which we booked last minute after a trip to Alton Towers. Huge room, lift to rooms, clean, comfy bed. Breakfast also very reasonable and Simon gave excellent service, going out of his way to make sure our dietary needs were supported.
- MCr470 (8/5): Great Breakfast Service - We booked last minute to save a drive home after staying at Alton Towers. The rroms were fine, clean with comfy beds. Considering the close proximity of the road we couldn’t hear any traffic. Breakfast was great with very attentive service from Simon, many thanks.
- stuartanita22 (4/5): Staff need customer service training ! - The room was clean and comfortable and not too noisy even though next to a busy road.
The food was good but the service was appallingly bad. Restaurant staff made us feel unwelcome and an annoyance that they didn't need, and would rather be chatting with each other than being attentive to the customers that were wanting to dine there.
- Fip2808 (10/5): Would definitely return! - Stayed here for 1 night with a group of 6 other ladies and the service was amazing from check in to leaving the following morning!
Particular thanks go to Simon and Louise at breakfast and Sean during evening meal service.
- JEF000 (10/5): Excellent staff, food, hotel, service , consideration - This is the best Premier Inn I've ever stayed at with the best manager and staff.
I booked 4 rooms for myself and friends and accidently booked a 5th I didn't need. On arrival we all arrived separately and it quickly became apparent that I had made a mistake with the bookings and overbooked rooms. The hotel manager , Darren stayed behind to help resolve my problem and took time to decipher my bookings and attribute them to the correct people. He also cancelled without charging the extra room I had mistakenly booked. He did this in a efficient manner and with good humour. He could easily have made this difficult and charged me as it was clearly my mistake. Darren is clearly a great manager who is well liked by his staff who were all equally as friendly and lovely. There were lots of staff covering from other PI's, Shaun and Hannah from Derby West and Steph from Nottingham South. None of them could do enough for us and we're fabulous. One of my group had a birthday on the day we arrived, Darren overheard this and put a bottle of prossecco and a card on our table which was a lovely surprise when we arrived for dinner. Food and drinks were equally as fabulous. Breakfast in the morning was Simon ( i believe) serving us, again he went above and beyond to find take away cups, put extra croissants in for us and provide take away boxes.
Overall I cannot fault the hotel, staff, manager and food, this is how things should be done. Well done everyone you should be proud you truly were fabulous.
Good luck Darren in your promotion to take on Nottingham South PI along with Derby. This is service at its very best , Julie Finegan
- paigehE776PJ (10/5): 10/10 - Simon & Louise from the breakfast team were fantastic 👏
We came to breakfast quite late, after 10am 🫣 and were the only 2 people in there.
We were offered freshly cooked items, the team couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome & relaxed, instead of rushed.
They were great with my autistic son too!
Thank you very much guys 🥇
- Cruiser53990610506 (10/5): Night away - Came here just for one night on Sunday 12th October the hotel was pretty quiet at the time I was there. The check in process was dealt with in a nice relaxed manner and it was explained to me where everything was even though I've been here before it was nice to be refreshed on where things were, I was asked on checking if I wanted to book a table in the restaurant which I did. The room was very clean and well presented. I noticed they don't have glasses in the rooms anymore which is fine as I just used a glass cup instead. The bed was extremely comfortable and the blackout curtains very useful as I like a dark room when I go to sleep. The restaurant was very clean and well presented, there was a guy at the stand upon my arrival to the restaurant and he was very courteous and asked if I had any allergies which I didn't but still good to be asked the question. I opted for the meal deal which was £26.99 which I thought was good value as I had a starter of spring rolls and a main of smothered chicken and I had a pint of lager included and it also included breakfast the next day. I had a desert also which was an extra £3.00 on top. All the food served was delicious. The chap who seated me was busy at reception but the chef came out and asked if everything was ok. I paid up and went to bed and had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was extremely tasty and it was the same two people on who were on the previous night and they both seemed in good spirits considering I'd only seen them a few hours ago. The only thing I'm not so keen on is that they don't seem to do the pots of yogurt's now instead it's all in a dish for you to spoon out yourself, got to say that doesn't seem a good idea. Thank you for a lovely night's stay and thank you to the chef Callum for his excellent food and service and also the other chap I think he was the manager on duty for his professional and kind presence and the housekeeper for giving me a nice clean room. These people are a credit to your business.
- Chris (6/5): - Check in was efficient
Staff were friendly
Rooms were clean and functional.
Evening restaurant was a disaster 45 min to get and appetizer and customers were not happy.
Food left on service counter and not bought out to tables.
Breakfast was much more efficient.
May have been a bad evening but no real apologies offered. Average budget stay hotel.
- Vieltraveller (8/5): Affordable new hotel a bit away from the center - Hotel is pretty new in a new area behind the train station so it’s quite a trip to the city center and also surprisingly to the train station. But there’s a tram station a few minutes from the hotel.
The room was new and nice, with good AC, good bed and was mostly quiet. I assume it can be louder in the morning on weekdays from outside and also slamming doors and running people inside the hotel were easy to hear.
The room could have been cleaner (stains on walls, furniture and such).
Compared to other hotels this one seemed much more affordable.
- l_ono138 (10/5): Excellent price, good quality hotel - For just 60 quid a night (excl 15 for parking facilities), this place was a bargain for a full family. The Prem Inn is, like in the UK, a very reasonable basic hotel with a decent room and great beds. The location in this Prem is close to the tram, which brings you to city centre in around 5min (its a 30min walk).
- Methven (6/5): Nice enough place to stay but room service and breakfast not so good - This is a new hotel, in very good condition. We had booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children and the receptionist allocated us Room 302 which was small and had only a double bed and a sofa which could be converted into a single bed for one child. We returned to reception to raise the problem and were told that we should make up the bed ourselves! We've never experienced such a poor attitude in a Premier Inn before that and this ignored the fact that there wasn't a fourth bed for our other child. They agreed to move us to another room suitable for 4 if we hadn't "used anything in the room" as then they could rent it out again, as if it would be our fault if we had. Despite the Premier Inn website promoting vegan food at breakfast, we found that the only hot food for vegetarians was beans and egg, and for vegans only beans! On asking about vegan options the member of staff advised that no hot vegan breakfast was available at this location! They do provide vegan cereal and oat milk but overall they don't seem to have much interest in providing vegetarian/vegan options and we wouldn't book breakfast here again for this reason. We also received no room service, the beds weren't made for us during our stay, the tea and coffee wasn't topped up, the bin wasn't emptied and towels weren't changed. Overall, although the hotel is attractive and in good condition we were disappointed that the service here fell well short of the level that you'd normally receive in a UK Premier Inn.
