Guest Reviews
- shannonemery (10/5): Friendly staff - Staff at both the hotel and pub were so so friendly and helpful, I couldn’t fault them at all. It’s my first solo hotel stay and their friendliness really helped to put me at ease.
The room was clean and in perfect condition
- windows8isrubbish (10/5): Pub next door - Stayed for a couple of nights last week. Room was clean and we slept well.
Tried the sea bass and risotto at the pub next door, cooked by the landlady's husband and can recommend it.
- josephpQ9005QL (10/5): Trip - Nice clean quite hotel with air con, friendly and helpful staff, also in a good location surrounded by the countryside, also had a restaurant which was good which can get busy at times. I'm pleased that I chosen this hotel.
- Steve009 (10/5): Another fantastic stay with PremierInn. - We stayed for one evening on a football away day/weekend.
The receptionist was very professional and chatty.
Evening meal and breakfast is available in the pub next to the premises.
Once we’d checked (8.00pm)in we found our room which was very spacious, clean and welcomingly warm.
Our sleep was uninterrupted and the beds were very comfortable.
All in all,a very pleasant stay at a very reasonable price.
Highly recommended.
- D771ZFjennyl (10/5): Nice hotel - First time to stay here an a nice hotel, is a a little older. Room is clean and basic, reception team friendly and helpful. Beefeater was good.
- henmoore73 (2/5): No consideration for paying guests - Booked for a four night stay at around 18.30 the guest above started doing some kind of work out. Lots of jumping around and running on the spot. This went on for an hour as it wasn’t late just turned the tv up.
At around 04.30 thought the ceiling was coming down unbelievable. Managed to get hold of the member of staff who thankfully went and stopped this fitness fanatic.
On leaving for the day the nice lady on reception said they have spoken to the gentleman. Unfortunately he is booked in for the week.
She said the duty manager is going to ask the gentleman to move onto ground floor room this way he can’t disturb anyone.
Well obviously the duty manager ignored my complaint. Same happened that night some people have no consideration for others.
Packed up and headed somewhere else.
Week manager who obviously doesn’t care about the guests who stay at this hotel.
Top it off dirty towels and stains on the bedding.
- 954rogerd (8/5): Pleasant experience. - Convenient location just off M4. Nothing much in area and need to drive to Swindon for shops etc. The staff were pleasant and especially breakfast staff in attached restaurant. The room was spacious and very clean. We thought the price was slightly excessive hence a drop of 1 star. We were located towards rear of hotel with no noise whatsoever.
It was a very pleasant stay and would stay again. It was good to have attached restaurant with good quality food and meal deal prices.
- eepingy (2/5): Terrible and unsanitary - This was a 1 night stay on 25 October 2025 in Room 100 (family room) at Premier Inn Swindon North.
There was an extremely horrific incident in the morning when the toilet in our room did not stop flushing and began to overflow, flooding the bathroom floor. When we looked for a toilet brush or plunger to manage the situation, we found that none were provided in the room. With water actively flooding the floor, we were forced to manually clear the blockage with a bare arm to stop the overflow and prevent water from damaging our belongings and saving the hotel room carpet as well.
This was an extremely unsanitary and unacceptable situation for any guest to be placed in, and it posed a clear health and hygiene concern.
In addition the heater was noisy and made constant beeping sounds from 5am so we already had a terrible night's sleep and had to deal with this situation. We were very unhappy with our stay at this hotel.
Unfortunately as there was no phone in the room to call reception, we felt forced to handle the situation ourselves before the flooding became worse and if it wasn't for my husband's quick actions, the room and carpet would have been completely damaged. We did notify the reception while leaving, but were not in any mood to discuss given the ordeal we just went through. The receptionist was quick to ring someone to check on the room after.
When we informed management after, the response was "I am sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations" - suffice to say they were not at all sympathetic nor appreciative of the effort we made to save their room. Save your money and don't stay here - and especially beware if you're in Room 100!
- garethrF9695VX (6/5): Nor impressed - Looking in need of a refresh
We booked an accesible room
IT WASN'T ACCESSIBLE
Only one towel for two of us
Had to get an extension cable from Reception to reach the bedside for my tablet and phone
- X568JKkerrys (10/5): Did the job - Stayed here a few days ago to visit family nearby, easy location. Lots of carparking, remeber to add your car reg at reception. Staff are freindly, easy to check in. Room basic but clean.
- elliejJ662AQ (10/5): Easy to get too. - Nice littlee premeir inn, just off the M4 motorway, junction 16. Although older than others stayed at and does show. The reception team were lovely a d friendly, rooms was clean (ztain on carpet but because old). Breakfazt was good.
- ncr2017 (2/5): Love premier inn but would never return to this one! - I don't like writing bad reviews and love premier inn but honestly worst premier inn (and any hotel experience) I've ever had. First room had vomit on the floor (was offered apology, another room and free breakfast.) Currently in room exhausted after a terrible night. Noisy air conditioner and when eventually got to sleep woken at 6am by upstairs room who could only be described as doing laps back and forth. Not sure if they're heavy footed or if the ceilings are so poor but was loud enough to wake both me and my daughter.
There are good amenities near hotel but awful for sleep quality and I'm just hoping none of us come down sick after the first room experience. Never had a bad premier inn experience so like the company but would not return to this one
- A2256RRsueb (6/5): Tired, worn and check meal times with pub next door! - Very tired hotel and in need of refurbishment. Bathroom very cold and worn . Bed very comfortable but bedding looked tired and uncared for . Sadly given wrong time for breakfast next day at pub adjacent and arriving at 9.14 am as agreed we were rudely told breakfast finished at 9am and get a refund from hotel as it was their fault. The pub had confirmed 9.15am was fine the night previously when we had dinner there. Perhaps the hotel and pub could have staff training on liaison and customer service (from the pub) as we were rudely sent away despite continental breakfast fully available and all on show. Disappointing experience as we were attending a funeral with a long journey ahead and breakfast not available locally as booked and paid for in advance
- ted57uk2019 (10/5): All staff members are excellent - The excellence of the staff are why we continue to use this hotel. They are all friendly, efficient and professional from the Reception Staff, Housekeeping, Bar Staff and the superb Waiting Staff.
- Trip02338235889 (10/5): Always a great stay - Staff friendly & efficient. Rooms lovely and clean rooms & great stay. stay regularly and never have a problem here. Food good in the Cold Harbour inn and breakfast is a must
- DOWSER144 (4/5): Give this one a miss. - Very poor room 28. Tired doesn’t even start to tell the story. Worn heavy wood furniture, ghastly art but the bathroom is appalling. Mouldy silicone, mouldy ceilings and flaking paint, cracked tiles, grout clumsily replaced with silicone.
No USB ports or bedside plug sockets ,
The heater has baked on soiling of unknown origin
Third rate.
- tobyhO4822HU (10/5): Exceptional reception staff notably Leo - Clean and comfortable room. Reception staff were exceptional, especially Leo who greeted us in a friendly, efficient and welcoming manner.
- D225ENannieh (10/5): Thank you Leo 🌟 - We broke down on the motorway, so this stop was completely unplanned and very last-minute. It had been such a stressful evening, but Leo instantly made us feel at ease he was so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely funny. He turned a rough situation into one we could actually laugh about. An absolute credit to the team!
- P3614IKcharlotteh (10/5): Lovely friendly hotel - Lovely hotel, friendly staff, spotless clean as was the room, bed really comfy and brewers fayre was great too, would stay here again
- C9469WTlucyh (10/5): Great - Was a lovely hotel, clean and great staff. Bit tired but it’s a little older than others but it was clean and nice comfortable
- deborahhL4228BB (4/5): Poorc - The rooms are very tired . Shower curtains are tired ! The food was poor . Limited selection on evening meal including drinks . Breakfast was cold had to keep chasing for breakfast items . Fruit juices empty . Coffee machine empty ! Not impressed and would not return !
- deniseandcolined2016 (4/5): Not a good premier - Just had an overnight stay at this hotel as we have stayed at plenty of premier inns before and what we got was very below par for this company. We were in a standard room as it was only one night. The room was tidy but tired. The air conditioning made a vibrating noise when operated so in the end we turned it off. The bathroom had a shower over bath but no rubber mat was supplied which made it very slippery when taking.a shower. Figments were very dated .
We also did a meal deal at the beefeater. The first problem was no guiness zero and the doombar on tap was flat and awful.when ordering food no lasagne, sticky toffee pudding , crumble , Breakfast was cold and virtually empty. Fruit juices all empty milk in coffee machine empty,no sweetener or sugar on show no butter or margarine.
I don’t expect 5 star but I would like the products to be available and cooked breakfast to be hot.
- V2150EBkatiep (10/5): Great stay - Great place for somewhere to stay. Clean bedroom and bathroom. Fresh and clean towels. TV was a decent size to watch main TV channels. Bedroom is a good size and plenty of room to walk around and a sofa bed type thing to lounge on when not in bed. Hand wash and shampoo/body wash provided was Baylis and hardings. Great amenities nearby. Brewers fayre next door. Costa, subway and a convenience store next to the premier inn also. There is quite a few places close to the premier inn as well. There is quite a few car dealerships, McDonalds, leisure centre, Asda nearby. There is also Lydiard park nearby to have a nice walk around the lake and the house. Overall great stay. Thank you
- Mafioso59 (4/5): Thus hotel needs a total revamp - Having stayed here before we thought deeply about staying again as the whole place needs a total revamp. We only stayed here for ease of location close to family. When you have a non flushing toilet, missing light bulbs, walls that need to see a paint brush, you know it is not being maintained. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff helpful.
- AMB_777 (8/5): Not bad, just a bit of guest noise. - Great location, just off the motorway. Fast check-in, staff were great.
Stayed on the top floor, lift was fast, not much waiting around. In the corridor the woodwork needed painting but the room was perfect, nice and clean and in good repair. Had disturbed sleep at night and early morning as any sound in the corridor could easily be heard in the room. Walls and door are probably very thin. People were not being particularly noisy, just talking and laughing but was enough to wake us up in the room. Paid £61 for the night, which was fair value. There is minimal parking around the hotel building but plenty on the main car park for the surrounding amenities.
- Basketweaver88 (10/5): Great stay! - Excellent location close to motorway. Plenty of free parking, which is well lit. Rooms clean and quiet. Staff very helpful and welcoming, quickly finding me an iron and ironing board. Reception has local information and good to see money being raised for local charities. Didn’t have breakfast or meal there, so cannot comment. Would definitely stay again!
- grahamtR5331FM (4/5): 2 night stay - Premier inn really let them selves Down in my book. Rooms are no longer serviced unless you request it ( just to save money)
The heating or air con is intermittent the Wi-Fi is on/off, hard to work with no email, It just seems it’s a save money thing. Rooms are basic ( don’t look under the bed). Just feel they are not giving what it says on the tin. I still stay in premier inn because my company thinks they are looking after their people. just to say the staff are lovely and work hard so nothing against them. I would ask that the bigger bosses in this Co to up their game and stop putting the front line to take the slack. A team needs leaders and your people need to support the front line staff. Sorry for the rant but I stay with you guy often.
- 427terryc (10/5): A family trip to the Cotswolds and Clarksons farm & pub - Great little place, quiet, needs an up grade in regards to redecoration but still value for money, great place to eat , easy parking on site, great place to stay for a visit to Cotswolds & surrounding areas! Highly recommend for the money
- Max070102 (10/5): Great stay - Lovely stay
Friendly staff and great location Very clean
Would recommend as great access to M4 and amenities
Will use as a go to hotel now for business and leisure
- 527SB527 (10/5): Great!! Would recommend - Stayed here on business and had a great experience. Really clean and lovely, polite staff that were willing to help me with a few questions I had about the area. Would definitely go back.
- Y74QZsuzie (10/5): Happy guest - Quick efficient check in. Quiet room which was clean and fresh. Great staff, always on hand to help! Will be back in the future
- SL11_SL11 (10/5): Great stay - Lovely stay. Friendly staff and rooms very clean. Would stay again. Nice warm welcome on reception and found the room to be comfortable
- S8147NOdebbier (8/5): Comfortable room - Good location just off motorway. Near to leisure centre ice rink. Comfortable room with lovely bed and black out curtains. Next to Beefeater so good breakfast and meal.
- I1159DFsc (10/5): Excellent - Perfect as normal, I cannot fault the service the polite and friendly staff and the breakfast room - Tash is very accommodating and helps me with my autistic child should I have issues, I love coming back to this hotel time after time
- johnmK2807HI (10/5): Family Reunion - Very pleasant stay for a large family reunion at the attached pub The Cold Harbour. Good food excellent staff. All very pleasant.
- FellowTraveler665552 (10/5): Overnight in Swindon - Convenient location, rooms were comfortable, clean and good value for money. Would happily stay again and most probably will.
- Lindyann2013 (10/5): One night - Only stayed for one night passing through the area, the guy on check in was super helpful, even asked if help was needed with luggage, room was usual premier inn standard.
- alisonmD846FT (8/5): Good stay & breakfast, for a good price - We booked a family room for one night to break up our journey. The hotel is very reasonably priced, it was a little dated as some of the other reviews say, and it was a warm night (no air conditioning but provided a fan) but we all slept well and it did the job. The breakfast at the pub next door was very good for the price too.
- leeroyr995 (8/5): Great value for money - Hotel was great value for money. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful and there was plenty of parking. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that the room didn’t have air conditioning and when we went the room was very hot and only had a fan in the room so wasn’t able to cool the room down. Otherwise was great.
- simonc844 (4/5): Poorly trained staff - Good standard of hotel as you would expect from Premier Inn. However travelling as 2 couples the rooms had no air con only a fan which didn’t really do the job. The big thing for us was we booked and paid for breakfast on arrival for 9.30am for the following morning. Went to the restaurant in the morning at 9.30am and breakfast closed at 9am. We thought this was quite early to close but why were we booked that time when it wasn’t even an option. We would have booked earlier if we were told. We were eventually told the receptionist was “new” and obviously not trained in the basics of the customer needs and basic service stuff. The morning receptionist could only apologise and to add insult to this refund takes 3-5 working days!!. This delayed our morning and left a bad feeling to us all.
- Rebbe7 (10/5): Lovely - Lovely clean hotel, friendly team even with our late time of arrival. Had a really tasty breakfast in the Brewers Fayre and free parking.
Thanks for a great night's sleep and a lovely stay
- Venture51997247526 (10/5): Friendly staff - The front door staff are very friendly and helpful. Relaxing atmosphere.
Clean room and comfortable bed, which is important. Had a good breakfast.
- LucyJR62 (2/5): Worst hotel experience ever - Unfortunately there was a power cut. Despite having no electricity or water, the receptionists booked us into the hotel.
Despite having mobility problems, the receptionist stated I had to climb 5 floors to my room on the top floor.
There was no opportunity to wash or change, or even use the toilet, as there was no water.
There was probably a huge risk to health and safety as people with mobility problems would not have been able to go down the stairs.
There was a lairy alcoholic in reception who had come from the Weatherspoons pub, and eventually 2 policemen.
The receptionist stated I was manned by 3 young people who hadn’t got a clue what to do. It appears there was no policy about what to do in a power cut. They refused to find another hotel for me and refused to give a refund.
I will never stay at this hotel again, despite regularly travelling to Swindon
- Road09437310990 (6/5): Uncomfortable room temperature - Lovely staff and good location with easy access to surrounding areas. Unfortunately the rooms were far too hot even when it was cool and cloudy outside which made sleeping difficult and uncomfortable. This would make us hesitant to book this hotel again.
- clareandtrevor (8/5): Great location - We were warmly greeted by the receptionist on duty. Our room was what you would expect from a Premier Inn and ideal for one or two nights.
I have only given 4 stars as the top sheet on the bed had some sort of black mark on it. Fortunately as the weather was so warm, we didn’t need to use it. Otherwise, great stay.
- E2616HLkieranl (2/5): Unbearable in summer heat - Unbearable in hot weather. The hotel heats up all day and it is impossible to cool at night as the windows do not open enough for ventilation. We stayed for 3 days and it got hotter and hotter each day, as there was nowhere for the heat to escape. At night it was 21 degrees outside and 30+ within the room. Staff were lovely but there was nothing that they could do.
- selintuck (6/5): Don’t stay in hot weather - The bed was comfortable. Lot of parking. Restaurant was nice and easy to get a table. I don’t recommend staying here if the weather is hot. They have no air-conditioning units in the rooms. Upon request the give you a plug in fan.
- travel_nath1 (6/5): Great location but sauna rooms - Excellent and quiet hotel, but blimey the rooms were like a sauna . Didn’t sleep too good for sweating all night which was a tad annoying as the Saturday was a long day
Friendly staff and helpful, although could do with better fans in the rooms would stay again if in the area.
- AAABBB101 (10/5): Excellent - We have stayed at this hotel several times and have always been pleased with the stay. We recently had a particularly good experience having tried the ‘meal deal’. The food was superb - thank you Fatima and Marianna! Even though the restaurant was busy, our food was served in good time, was hot and delicious. We were served by Luc - who had also checked us in the previous day - and he was superb. Friendly, super patient, and attentive without being pushy. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially as they seem to have a really good team working there, which makes all the difference.
- 753dennysd (10/5): premier in - the service from fay was amazing, she was really kind with us always offered to help and had a very positive attitude towards us
- charlottebB8428LG (10/5): Great value for money hotel - We stayed here as a stop over, to visit Oxford, in our way down to Cornwall.
There was ample parking which we were happy with.
The staff on reception were lovely and welcomed us kindly. Check in was quick and easy.
The room was clean, and things in the bathroom were well stocked.
We found the room comfortable and for the price we paid, was very good.
There was a fan in the room, which we appreciated as it was super hot when we arrived.
Overall, I'd recommend this premier inn.
- johnmA8607PO (4/5): Poor - The hotel is typical of the brand but the grounds are unkempt and overgrown. Not much sign of tables being cleared or disinfected in the Beefeater. Had haddock and chips, but the batter was soggy. Hotel gets very hot. Lots of fag ends around the Beefeater. Avoid
- AnnS80 (10/5): Premier Inn Swindon North is perfect location to visit Cirencester and Cheltenham towns and Open Air Pools - Staff, room, adjacent Cold Harbour Inn - all first class. The hotel is very welcoming, the duty manager even went to shield our room from the heat of the day - knowing that it could get hot because of the direction of the sun. We had added an extra night separately and this adjustment was really well sorted so we could stay in the same room. Breakfast at The Cold Harbour was fantastic - freshly cooked to order and with perfectly poached eggs - sometimes something that is difficult to achieve! Dinner was also very tasty and with a good menu. Finally, the hotel is well placed for getting to Cheltenham and Cirencester (where I can go swimming in outdoor pools). It is also close to the Swindon and Cricklade Railway which is now a favourite destination for me when in the area. I have even taken the 51 bus (a 10 minute walk to the bus stop from the hotel) into both towns. My recent visits have been brilliant.
- warofdark0 (10/5): Nice hotel, great stay. - Courteney was very welcoming and informative on check in.
Hotel was very clean and tidy, room was nice.
Many thanks for the warm welcome.
- ianyoung82 (10/5): Good pit stop - Pit stop before Southampton cruise. Courtney was friendly, welcoming and brilliant with the kids. Good size bedroom and good brekky.
- elsaw939 (10/5): Lovely stay - Fantastic premier inn from the service to the rooms.
We stayed for a night away the welcome we got from Ally was great very knowledgeable and helpful. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable great night sleep. We had eaten at the outlet as wanted to come and do some shopping. Even the next morning the member of staff thanked us for our stay and hope we have a good day.
- L924PSjohnw (10/5): Comfortable and friendly - Very comfortable rooms, beds very comfortable. Friendly staff and a speedy and efficient check in. The attached pub/restaurant is excellent. We were very impressed with this premier inn and would stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it to others
- SomersetKatie (8/5): Good location, good standard, great staff - We use Kembrey Park about 3-4 times a year, always for a Saturday into a Sunday. It is a typical Premier Inn..... good quality beds. crisp bed linen, good pillows, clean and great staff. We have a family and a double room and they are both the same quality. Our double room this visit was a little 'knocked' about...chipped worktop...but given what we paid we were more than happy and it did not impact our stay. I did note they have changed from Kenco to Nescafe coffee and to PG tips tea. ...IMHO not a good move!
We always see the same receptionist....Mel... and she always remembers us. A true sign of a great member of staff.
We keep returning ....always a good sign. Would recommend as you know what to expect from a premier inn.
- Wiltshirelucy (6/5): Average - this hotel had gone down hill rapidly in the last year - We stayed in this hotel around 18 months ago when I believe it had not long opened. Unfortunately the hotel itself has gone downhill in my opinion. The carpets on our floor hallway, were stained and haven’t been maintained. Hallways freezing, broken television by the lifts, drafty windows, cigarette butts in the entrance. On the first morning we opened our curtains to see two dirty sanitary towels right outside the window.
Also the parking situation… what a nightmare! There’s probably less than 30 spaces for the entire hotel unless you want to park elsewhere for around £50 a day you are forced to try and find space in the hotel car park. Still £15 a day for parking, I’ve never stayed in a premier inn where paying guests are expected to pay for parking.
The staff however are the redeeming feature here. Really helpful and attentive, couldn’t do enough for us.
- O5503FZsarahj (10/5): Christmas at premier - We stayed in Premier Swindon to spend Christmas with family. The staff on Christmas eve put out santa footprints up every hallway, coming in the window and by the front door having eaten the buiscuits they had put out. We also had sweets outside the door. This was so lovely for the children, and so sweet of the person who had to work xmas eve. I don't think a local firm would have gone to that trouble.
