Guest Reviews
- Colin (6/5): - The hotel was well located to the centre of town and the main railway station.
The staff were excellent and very accommodation with baggage storage and a room change we had to make.
Unfortunately one of their guests on Jan 20th smoked Marijuana and the ground stairs lobby and lift stank of the smoke.
Shame because of this i could only give them 3 stars.
- Paninalia (10/5): Great premier inn - Great welcoming from the menver of staff on check in desk ...the room was clean and comfortable with extra pillows available .
- jo_wright1 (10/5): Great hotel in an ideal location for shops and food - Preston Central hotel is in a fantastic location for shops and a night out. The hotel staff are always friendly and welcoming. The new premier plus rooms are well worth the extra cost to add a bit of luxury to your stay. Bed was extremely comfortable - so much so that two early risers actually slept in!
- EleanorE103 (2/5): Disappointing - Absolutely filthy bedroom carpet, room not cleaned for days despite asking.
Entrance tired and neglected. Staff stretched so much unavailable to serve us.
- Explore690532 (10/5): Excellent stay. - Excellent. Ismail and Emma made us very much at home and ensured we had everything we needed. Breakfast was first class and Ismail was very efficient and thoughtful in explaining what the options were.
- harrywQ7700RE (10/5): Preston Premier..well recommended - We stayed in Preston to attend a medical appointment...the hotel was very central so convenient...The rooms was clean, spacious , warm and quiet thanks to triple glazing....we booked the meal deal which was excellent value fir money...didn't have the breakfast as we dont eat in the morning but the evening meal was lovely..a lot of choice, very well prepared and beautifully presented...the staff are very efficient and polite...the waitress in the restaurant was really nice and helpful..the only thing I wasnt too happy with was not being earned about booking times fior meals..the first night we coukdnt eat till 7.30 and the next night 8pm which was very late for us, all in all though a very pleasant experience and we'd go back again 😀
- 948robertah (6/5): Would not stay here again - So many problems! Shortage of staff, same 2 staff members serving in restaurant, at bar and on reception in the early evening. Kitchen had only 1 chef/ member of staff and the majority of facilities in kitchen not working ( informed of this by server) waited 1 hour 30 for our meals as order not actioned. Then in morning created at breakfast by the most miserable person I have come across in a long time! Not a pleasant place to stay, will not stay here again. Very disappointing.
- PhilL336 (10/5): Couldn't ask for more! - Couldn't ask for more, the girl on reception was so friendly and helpful and the room was a great size, beds comfy as usual and breakfast fantastic!
- lollymlg (2/5): Bad night's sleep - The staff were friendly and check in was swift. It went downhill after that. When we got to our room the window had been left open so it was freezing cold and there was a large pool of water on the window ledge. Smears of lipstick and black hairs left on the sink. The pillows were thin, lumpy and uncomfortable. Then we were woken up by an alarm going off at 5am and this carried on for the next hour. Bad night's sleep and wouldn't return.
- Ghibli006 (10/5): Premier Inn Central, Preston - perfection! - I want to thank the amazing reception and restaurant staff (particularly Phoenix and Ismael) on duty on the evening of Tuesday 11 November 2025. They were friendly, efficient and courteous and made the evening and entire stay so comfortable and relaxed. The chef (Shafid) had also recently introduced a new fish dish to the menu - which was fabulous and as good as I have tasted in 4 and 5-star restaurants...
- Chris_L_North_Wales (10/5): A warm welcome resulted in a great stay - Ismail's friendly greeting convinced us to eat in the restaurant rather than following our original plan of finding somewhere else to eat.
Thereafter, Ismail's service levels and attention to detail were consistently excellent.
His assistant, James, was also friendly, helpful and polite
- deidkennedyh (10/5): Welcoming Hotel Would Stay Again - Ismail could not have been more friendly in his welcome and assistance at bar and reception. Taiyeb and Rosa also engaging, and I felt very welcome. Room excellent value . Full five stars
- Navigate12320209513 (6/5): Wouldnt stay here again - Stayed here as a party of 10 of a wedding party from 29th to 1st Nov. On the Thursday morning i was greeted by your duty manager who was very abrupt with me where i was seating and i was trying to tell him there was more of us for breakfast. He wasnt very friendly at all. We all returned to the bar after the wedding to be met by the night staff member telling us they'll be no rowdyness. Most of the time there was only 1 member of staff that was seving in the bar, and also checking in so sometimes there was a long wait to be seen .Parking is offsite and cost £27 for my 3 days. No cleaners came in on my 3 day visit either.Only positive i have is with the lovely Diane on breakfast duties who chatted and asked if we were all ok .she is a credit to your company and maybe some of your staff should take a leaf out of her book .
- tosand2023 (4/5): Cold Hot Chocolate after 13 mins - Cold hot chocolate 13 mins later.... just wanted that, i had about a30 min wait so I paid more than a costa coffee at 9.13am and was asked to wait in another section... over 11 mins later I went to ask and was told to just wait and 4 mins later was told they are very busy as I "could see" then they brought this temperature lukewarm drink and said sorry bout that.... oh boy never again!
- Kevin (6/5): - Overall the room was OK, decent size for the price. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but walkable and central. Cheap stay, and fine for night or two.
- no282 (10/5): Good place to stay at a reasonable price for working in Preston - Great location. The staff were really friendly and helpful. It met all of my needs and was convenient for reasonable restaurants in Preston. Wifi enabled me to deal with any work issues.
- Portly72 (8/5): Building 3*, Staff 5*+ - I stay in this hotel most weeks, it is getting older and it is showing, but as a Premier Inn it is always clean and comfortable. The thing that keeps me coming back every week is the staff. The welcome is warm and they do everything they can to improve your stay.
- nigeywilliams (10/5): Business stay - Spent a week here on while on business. Rooms clean and quiet. Food good. Staff really friendly especially Ismail on reception.
- marydD6041IC (2/5): RUDE AND UNFRIENDLY MANAGER - Went into this hotel late at night after problem with train journey looking for a room. Guy at door said no rooms but would speak to manager. We sat in foyer and manager came out and said he’d have to ask us to leave as he wasn’t insured for us to be there. We were looking for help and advice and were escorted off the premises. Manager was rude and unfriendly to say the least and made us feel like criminals. Welcome to Preston. Avoid this place and stay in the Holiday Inn up the hill where staff couldn’t have been nicer. Whole different experience
- emmacummings (8/5): Family stay - We stayed here on our last night of a little road trip. There’s no parking at the hotel but there are places to park in car parks near by.
Check in was quick and easy, the staff were lovely and very helpful.
Our room was clean and had everything we needed.
Breakfast was good
- Go02341798771 (8/5): Nice stay. - Fairly good stay WiFi not great, rooms can get quite warm during summer. But, comfortable clean bedroom, and meals reasonably priced.
- jrkenna (6/5): Ok for the price - Nice quiet, warm rooms but lack of towels ! Only one large and one small towel for a double room for 2 people.
Lack of staff. Nobody at reception to check us so there was long queue, despite ringing bell on the desk. (I appreciate there is a machine for us to check in ourselves, but personal service at check in is better for answering queries etc and for those of us who are not technically minded!
Breakfast was luke warm, and a long wait for eggs!
- mitchell251106 (10/5): Perfect for business or leisure - Lovely staff well maintained hotel and high spec rooms - worth every penny. Central location 5 minutes from the railway station.
- JCLAPPISON (4/5): a very average location - Hotel is ok, but public car park is tucked away a couple roads away, and they are very quiet and dark roads, i didn't feel safe, and I was worried about my car. Having booked a premium room I was disappointed to climb into the bathtub for a shower and BOTH of the shower gels screwed to the wall were completely empty, how can both run out after one guest, clearly not being checked regularly. The "efficiency drive" to save money on staffing just leaves it feeling soulless.
- Jodiebown231 (10/5): Best premier inn - Very clean and modern room, great value for money.. extremely comfortable bed, we all got a great night sleep. Has to be the best premier inn I've ever stayed in.
- ivorg243 (10/5): Overall great experience - Staff were absolutely great, restaurant serve a great meal, really nice family vibe! - I have to use at least 100 characters -
- trevorwW2277AM (10/5): Excellent stay, phenomenal staff - Really enjoyable stay, as always. Ismail was phenomenal and went above and beyond to make the stay exceptional. I would highly recommend Premier Inn Preston Central.
- joannafR6341FW (4/5): Great staff, rooms way too warm - The staff were exceptional and I couldn’t fault their services. The beds are very comfy. However, the rooms we stayed in were ridiculously hot (22 degrees outside, 29 degrees in room according the the thermostat in room) - dread to think how warm they get when it’s 30 degrees outside! Fans were provided but were ineffective. Rooms on the other side of the building were cooler but they were at max capacity so couldn’t be moved until night 3/3.
Emailed guest services a week ago and no response, despite their stated response time being “within 5 days”
- P1550FDmalcolms (10/5): Great hotel and restaurant - The room was clean and the bed very comfortable.
With the hotel having a Beefeater next door provides a great location as any meal is easily accessible if required. We had breakfast and it was excellent.
- Maxopaxo1 (10/5): Thank you Alana (and team) - Alana was absolutely fantastic!
Welcomed us with a. Smile and made us feel very welcome!
Been one of the nicest stays we've had for awhile!
Thank you
- JapO4 (4/5): Stayed 48hrs - This hotel is very dilapidated and could do with a serious upgrade.
Rooms are constantly hot and a small fan is issued but not much use.
The carpark although not too expensive at £3 for 24hrs is just another money making scheme. I think if you're staying it should be free.
Room was dirty.
- J8648EHbenj (10/5): - brilliant staff and friendly experience will 100% be coming back again really easy to get checked in here for bassfest .
- Freedom17880711783 (10/5): AMAZING - Jamie and the team at Rotherham are amazing!! It was a very hot day but Nothing was too much trouble and they even helped me up stairs with my bags!! We were kept cool and hydrated and everyone we came across was attentive and fantastic! Will deffo be back!
- nigelsS9872MG (4/5): Grotty room, not a good experience. - We decided to stay at this hotel as my wife was visiting the local hospital. After 3hrs of travelling up from Kent, we arrived and found that the car park had a £3 per night charge on it, my wife is disabled so we parked in the disabled bays which there were plenty of, but found it strange that we still had to pay (good start). The chap on the front desk was pleasant and helpful which was nice. We were lucky to be allocated a ground floor room which we had not asked for. We checked in and went to our room, the room looked a bit grotty and gave the appearance that it had not been cleaned that well. The walls had squashed bugs on them which had not been wiped down, a hole in the wall like someone had punched it and it had been roughly filled in and painted. The window stills on both sides of the window had peeled paint on them which was laying on the window sill and it also appeared to have not been wiped down for a long time, the heater under the window had paint peeling off it as well and was rusty. The carpet looked like it had not been hoovered and the walls looked like it had been painted sometime in the past and was patchy to say the least. The bathroom was in the same condition as the rest of the room, the bath plug was mouldy and not attached to the bath, the only thing that looked clean was the bed linen. For what I paid I was not expecting it to be the Ritz, but you did not feel clean while staying in the room and it made you remember the experience for all the wrong reasons. I feel that when credit is due I will say it, but also the same for a bad experience. The only good thing I can say is that the chap on the front desk (sorry did not catch his name) was very helpful when trying to sort out the super slow wifi which Premier Inn use.
Would I stay here again as we have to go another two times to the hospital in the next couple of months..the answer is no. I have found a Green King pub very close to the hospital so will be trying them out. Hopefully the room will be a lot cleaner than Premier Inn Rotherham East. I filled in the survey that they send giving it a bad review and so far have had no reply from Premier Inn (surprise, surprise) had your money now not interest. Please see pictures for reference attached
- BSivie (4/5): Run down hotel with no real redeeming qualities - Booked this Hotel for its location as we were down for a hockey tournament,
On arrival the car park is quite busy and In really poor condition potholes all over and poorly maintained … oh and you have to pay to park too it’s is only £3 a night though but isn’t secure no barrier or cctv
Reception area is small and if you arrive at a busy time can be a squeeze with everyone’s bags and kids etc
Our room was a family sized room a good sized double bed and a single perfect for the 3 of us.
Room was very hot with no air conditioning (we did have a fan which made little difference) not sure if it was heat induced but the room smelt very musty with cobwebs and dust pretty much on all surfaces..
The bathroom had a good sized bath with shower water pressure is pretty grim and black mould on the ceiling however served it’s purpose
Restaurant is a beefeater, evening food is adequate breakfast is pretty good
- X6971LMnatashac (10/5): Lovely place - Very pleasant staff on the front desk, booked us in for breakfast and dinner at the beefeater restaurant attached to the hotel.
Bedroom was a good size for me and my wife, bed was very comfortable, had a fan to help cool down the room too which definitely helped!
Parking out the front was £3 for the night.
- josephinep744 (10/5): Fantastic staff and food - Comfortable stay with lovely food and good service in the restaurant. Front of house staff were welcoming and helpful. With a special mention to Jamie who is most possibly the politest and most helpful member of staff I have ever encountered at a UK hotel and I think we are on our 10th weekend away this year so far.
- chrissO5522GA (10/5): Great - The rooms is excellent as I have come
To expect with premier inns, Steve on the front desk was friendly and helpful.
The only complaint I have is about the Tripadvisor site having a 200 character minimum. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
- demblades1889 (4/5): Run down, avoid if possible until some money is spent upgrading - Staff good rest not so good.
Very noisy floorboards in our room, corridor and above us. Very little sleep
Mildew in bathroom, towels wouldn't dry. Beds aged, wifi poor.
Restaurant- seats all stained, carpets worn, plaster falling off, bar area cold and shut at 9pm. Window sills and blinds Very dusty.
Wheelchair user had to go outside to get from bar to room as no ramp or lift..in this day and age that's POOR.
Was meeting family and friends here but was too embarrassed due to how run down it is so ate and drank in other establishments.
Upgrade and renovation needed NOW.
Charge for car park now, something new.
Stayed here before but won't again until renovations are done.
Bet Lenny Henry would be horrified, as we were.
- L4985JCgaryf (6/5): Unsatisfied with service - The hotel itself was as expected,But first night no sleep due to a generator constantly going on and off,for this they gave us a free breakfast under policy it states refund if you don't get a good night. Also unable to bath/shower in the room as water was brown/urine colour this was reported at same time so they moved our room.see photo attached.
- Arran7225 (10/5): Good stay - Nice stay. The guy on reception, Jamie was brilliant. The beds were comfy and the rooms decent.
The car park is huge so no problems parking. We had lunch in the restaurant which was good and again the service was very good. We checked out on Mother’s Day, they had little gifts in reception for mums to take away.
- 40avrilb (8/5): Friendly welcome - Lovely staff, clean rooms. Happy to return again as reasonably priced for clean bed. Downsides - free WiFi not working and I thought the introduction of parking charges may have made parking a bit easier but not the case. Arrived early to secure a space in narrow bays.
