- markjA4609YY (8/5): Car patking let the experience down - I think the only thing that lets Tiverton Premier Inn down is the car parking. The multi story is accessible but is costly. Also I was stung by having a parking permit stuck to my windscreen. This was because the ticket machine at 10.30 decided not to issue a ticket after an attempted payment. Consequently an over zealous park attendant stuck a notice on my screen at 7.0am.Not impressed so I think Premier Inn needs to have an agreement with Mid Devon Council about resident stays.
- jerseykathyl (8/5): Good stay! - We were here for one night and although we arrived pretty late, we had a lovely friendly welcome. It's next door to the train station and not far from the town centre too.
Our room was on the top floor and it was very spacious, clean and with all the usual Premier Inn features plus their lovely comfy bed. It was very quiet so we had a great sleep.
Breakfast was really good, the restaurant was quite large but we did find it pretty cold in there.
All in all, it was one of the nicer Premier Inns we have stayed in.
- matthewlS1757ZA (10/5): Great Stay - Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The check in time was nice and quick and had no issue in doing so. When arriving at our room, we was very satisfied how clean the bedroom was, as well as to how nice it was. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean.
- Big_geoff_2012 (4/5): Not bad. Just needs better cleaning - I stayed for a week and its not a bad hotel the staff are very friendly. They just need to work on their cleanliness. It turns out they only clean your rooms if you specifically request it and leave a sign on your door. I did this two days and they still didn’t clean the room. Bathrooms really should be cleaned regularly.
The last night I went to the bar and a member of the kitchen staff arrived for work. He told his colleagues to stay away from him as he had “the plague” a bad cold I believe he was referring to. He then donned his chef’s attire and went to serve food. Safe to say we ate out that night.
Genuinely not a bad hotel. Just needs a bit better oversight.
- murphy071 (10/5): Great stay - A great premier inn with such great team, always welcoming.
Just what you need when your away from home
Well done Thurso premier inn
- matthewdG6611GE (10/5): More than willing to help staff, room was clean and tidy, - Arriving early in Tiverton today
Vanessa went the extra mile, helping to check me in early which was needed after a long drive
- K3870QVjoannaj (8/5): Good base for a short stay - Centrally located. Room was clean and comfortable but general areas were poor with check in machine not working and lift broken
- 299DavidB (8/5): Great staff, comfortable rooms, very POOR parking - Hotel and staff were great. And room prices very good.
BUT THE PARKING IS APPALLING.
£16 to park over night in the multi-storey. Cheaper if you can park in one of the small number time limited spaces outside the adjoining council office, or a few hundred yards down the road (not great when it’s raining!!). But that requires a lot of moving from place to place, in and out of Waitrose car park for 2hrs etc. to comply with length of time your allowed to park.
We would come again, but now more aware of the VERY limited or costly parking arrangements. All are shown on the web site, but who reads that. We don’t. 🥴.
- Mobile27296600976 (10/5): Loved every second of our stay - Highly recommend this hotel no problems staff extremely welcoming and nothing to much trouble hotel is amazing clean you can’t fault this hotel at all and food is fantastic and excellent value for money can’t wait to go back for Christmas
- snooky21 (10/5): Credit to premier inn - went for a meal in the restaurant. Excellent choice of menu, Kelsey was a fantastic host and she was a very pleasant girl, nothing was a problem and she is a credit to premier inn. also Michael who took my reservation was very professional and his multi tasking was a credit, from reception to bar to the floor he was efficient in everything.
- tonywR8968OA (10/5): Very good stay. - Lovely Premier inn based in the middle of Tiverton. Friendly service quality accommodation and quality food.
Car parking fees structured so overnight parking is expensive believe as it a multi storey joined to the Hotel it could be subsidised by the local council for guests of the Premier inn.
- raebateet (8/5): Friendly staff and really good food - Stay at this Premier Inn on many occasions. Staff always friendly and helpful. The new chefs provide a great standard of food and never long to wait for your meal. It's a wee home fae home now.
- daniellC2847YG (6/5): Disappointed - I stayed at the Premier Inn in Tiverton and was really disappointed overall — mainly because of the parking situation. Before 6pm you can’t actually pay for overnight parking, which is incredibly frustrating when you arrive earlier in the afternoon. You basically have to either wait around until 6pm, risk a ticket, or keep going back and forward to the car park. Completely unnecessary friction for guests and not what you expect in 2025 from a major hotel chain.
The restaurant also really struggled. In the evening they simply couldn’t cope with more than around 6 covers at a time — service was slow and they just looked overwhelmed. If you’re staying here, realistically don’t expect to just turn up and get fed at the hotel without delays.
Staff were polite — but the operational design is just not guest functional.
- Kostie (10/5): Great hotel…above and beyond - Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff at this hotel for making us feel at home whilst going through a very difficult time.
The housekeeping staff were wonderful Janice and Anne on reception were very supportive and sympathetic as to the reason we was staying at this hotel and went above and beyond to help us feel at home and comfortable.
Wouldn’t stay anywhere else and if I could give 10 stars I would.
The staff at this hotel are some of most caring, compassionate and dedicated I’ve ever come across.
Thank you all for making our stay welcoming and helping us out where possible.
A credit to the Premier Inn team
- graham999Manchester (8/5): Worth the extra for premium - Classing it as Tonbridge a little off the mark as it’s by the hildenborough town sign. It’s about a £7 taxi ride from railway station for info. Quickly checked in although later there was a huge queue. I had premium room and well worth it. Excellent facilities including pod coffee machine, upgraded bathroom with rain shower. Bed was very comfortable indeed. Quiet location.
Only prepacked micro wave style items available for breakfast as the restaurant next door closed at the moment. Not known when will reopen or if available for breakfasts.
- adrinah123 (10/5): Freindly Staff - We invited our Friends for an evening drink before going out which was lovely. Except the choice of Non Acoholic choice need variety
- 195fionak (10/5): Wonderful, warm welcome - As seasoned Premier Inn guests, we feel like we come highly equipped to judge, and judge we will.
Wow! What a great Premier Inn experience. From check in to check out, we were very pleasantly surprised.
Positive welcome at Reception, a warm and clean room, good smell in the room and hotel - always a must!
The food was delicious. Hannah, the chef, cooked the Big Stack to perfection. I would go so far as to say it was the BEST burger I’ve had. My husband’s smothered chicken was equally good. The service at the tables was attentive yet non-intrusive.
Thanks, Thurso Premier Inn. We had a lovely stay.
- manthc (8/5): Long way from home - I had a long journey and arrived at the hotel on my last legs. A warm welcome and the staff kept me going throughout my 2 week stay. Emma, Megan, Demi, Ross, Tracey. Then in the kitchen Hannah,Bruce, Michael and James. THANKYOU all. Mandy
- TJ2205 (10/5): Great Family visit to Thurso - Warm and friendly welcome and very large rooms , we were on the 3rd floor where there were only 4 rooms so it was lovely and quiet .
The staff were the best thing about the hotel, all staff were friendly from housekeeping (Fraser ) to the front of house and bar staff. They are a credit to this hotel .
Breakfast was lovely
- Geraldine57307 (10/5): Lovely weekend break - Really lovely weekend break away.
Hotel was great with its own restaurant and fabulous menu, cooked and server by friendly and professional staff.
Our room was really clean tidy.
I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
We will be back in a few months.
So see you then, Reece and team
- Quest17605333200 (10/5): Great staff - Has a lovely stop off on route to Cornwall. Such a lovely location easy to get to. Parking was a bit of a drama but wasn’t the hotels fault it’s a council car park which we knew before arriving. Staff were lovely and made our stay so enjoyable. Food for breakkie and dinner was lovely.
- Jamiemalco94 (10/5): Best hotel in the north - Haven’t a bad thing to say about the hotel!
Food amazing, staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are perfect.
Would 100% recommend 👍🏻
- A9515PGpatrickb (10/5): Excellent - Hotel was really friendly and staff are always there to help if you need anything and service of the food is good and portion are decent..would definitely stay here again
- B4095AGhannahf (10/5): Great stay. - Really great hotel - lovely staff. Really helped e out when my shoe broke! Nice big room that was warm, clean and really well set up for getting ready for a night out/function which us ladies appreciate. Would definitely recommend.
- Lysias54 (6/5): Cost cutting having an effect. - We arrived to check in and the reception area was deserted. We looked for a checking in machine and there wasn’t one. We rang the bell three times and eventually a woman appeared who wasn’t able to check us in but said it was easy to forget to take the customer alert buzzer if you left reception. After 15 minutes a receptionist arrived and we were checked in. The receptionist was pleasant but unapologetic for the long wait. However it was obvious he was virtually running the hotel alone so it was hardly his fault we had to wait. We were given room 1 on the ground floor we suspect because we had luggage and there is not a lift. Unfortunately Room 1 is extremely noisy with the main door banging shut and people up and down the stairs at all times of the day and night. We were also woken again by a group of guests outside our room chatting loudly with their car engines running at 06.30 am. We went to breakfast assuming we would be provided with their usual buffet but it was just a snack counter with little choice.
Recently we have had to use two hotels from other chains and it is obvious Premier Inn are no longer the best value. Other Companies have plenty of staff, have very good restaurants and for the same price or cheaper offering much more i.e in one hotel two king size beds in one room with breakfast for £101. We have been using Premier Inns as a first choice for many years but that will not be the case going forward.
- helendR7315SI (6/5): Fantastic Staff - Shame About The Manager - The staff were absolutely fantastic and couldn't do enough for you. Just a shame the manager wasn't so helpful. When the Wi-Fi code wouldn't work he just lunged a business card at us and told us to ring them as it was nothing to do with him and when we requested our room to be cleaned he told us we had to request this before midday and when I pointed out to him it was before midday we were politely told they only get cleaned on Day 6 of your visit.
Tegan who was shift for breakfast was absolutely amazing and even when she was rushed off her feet he just sat in the corner chatting to his mate and didn't even help. At one point there was no bread, croissants, muffins for anyone and she was desperately trying to get everything out for the customers that we actually stepped in and helped her out by topping up the fruit juices for her.
Not only that but even after her shift she ha to stay behind to put the Halloween decorations up and had to kindly ask her husband to help her so she could go home and guess where the manager was - you guessed it......just sat there watching her.
Overall the hotel was very clean and wonderful staff - but the manager needs to go
- Howyou (8/5): Would stay again. - Great place, friendly and helpful staff.
Good breakfast worth the money.
Three complaints, first the bar shut at 2230 which is a bit annoying as we were there as a couple and were enjoying a wee libation in our room. I always thought residents could partake whenever they wanted.
The temperature control in the shower didn't work.
We also had a very noisy upstairs neighbour, of course this was nothing to do with the hotel, and they offered to move us the next day if required.
Overall good.
One thin I don't understand about hotels is why don't they allow their smart TVs to be used to watch streaming services, we couldn't access our Netflix account on the TV.
- farfromhomeReading (10/5): Great stay owing to the helpful young man at reception. - So, in this case it was the positive, helpful and 'can do' attitude of the blonde haired young man at reception that made this stay really good. He helped me carry my bags to my room (no lift) and nothing was too much trouble. He is a credit to Premier Inn.
The pub is being refurbished which could be a bit annoying as it was closed, and I didn't see a restaurant within a quick walking distance. - but I'd eaten before hand. The car park wasn't huge but there is sufficent parking. For me this is the better of the two Tonbridge Prems as it is newly refurbed and it is more central to the town. Though still a 15 /20 min walk in. It does have less parking though than the other one. I spoke to some ladies cleaning the rooms and they were very helpful too. Best of this place is the staff.
- laurar395 (10/5): Clean comfortable and quiet - Stayed one night - lovely welcome at check in. Room was clean and comfortable. Quiet aspect too. Check out easy. Room size also good.
- D2609KTtraceyw (10/5): Great Stay - Room was spotless, the breakfast was one of the best we have had at a Premier Inn, lots of selection for the hot breakfast which was all available at once, which may sound daft but we have had Premier Inn breakfasts that have been bitty. Had dinner as well which was delicious. This made a great stop off on our NC500 trip, would recommend.
- scottcA272BR (10/5): Great place to stay and eat - My wife and I stayed as part of our NC500 tour and thelocation is excellent for that. The staff are fantastic very helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The hotel was clean and modern the room was more that adequate. Megan was a credit to the hotel she was always helpful and pleasant not just to us but to everyone she interacted with. The hotel is excellent value for money.
- AlcesterMartyn (10/5): Lowest cost overnight stay on the NC500 with full Scottish Breakfast included - Within walking distance of the centre of Thurso, convenient free parking and meeting my expectations for comfort and budget when choosing a Premier Inn.
- skhutchings (2/5): Save yourself don’t use this hotel - Staff don’t care service is awful food not great we witnessed loads of people complaining . We decided not to eat but waited over half hour to get a drink. Manager walks round but doesn’t help/serve anyone also he is a tad rude, don’t bother with this place! we looked and other hotels in the area cheaper and can imagine loads better than this , also £15 night parking !!
- martinw768 (10/5): Excellent stay - Overnight stay at Thurso Premier Inn was excellent.
Free car park & easy check-in. Large room, decorated nice, clean with everything you need, over bath shower, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, extra bedding/pillows, etc, etc. Breakfast included, buffet style but excellent, in the restaurant/bar. Staff friendly & very helpful.
One of the best Premier Inns I have stayed in.
Would recommend & stay again.
- Road29605401857 (10/5): BEST Premier Inn Ever - Best Ever Premier Inn I have ever stayed at! Clean, Modern and Bright. The food was excellent (great new menu) and service was second to none. Delightful staff, will definitely be back!
- 424less (10/5): Brilliant stay. - After the shocking state of Inverness East, THURSO was EXCELLENT.
Spotlessly clean, excellent members of staff.
To all the team at Thurso, a huge THANK YOU.
- 206lyndaj (10/5): Premier inn, avoidable car park charge - All you expect from a Premier inn , clean comfortable and easy to find.
Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurent had some dishes unavailable, in the evening, but breakfast was as good as usual.
Reasonably quiet, considering the size of the hotel. We were told that next time we visit we should park in the next door library carpark not the one adjoining the hotel as it would only cost £2 overnight, instead of the £16 it cost for 24 hours.
- Tinkerbell154 (4/5): Poor kitchen - Hotel situated next to a car park - stayed 2 nights and cost £26 for parking in addition to room. Booking was made for work stay as dinner bed and breakfast - we were told when we arrived at 5.30pm we could only have 6.30am or 8.30am slot for breakfast and the earliest we could eat in the evening is 8.30pm!
After a very busy day working this felt too late to eat!!
When we asked to eat at 6.30pm we were advised we couldn’t. Sitting in the bar which is part of the restaurant there were x 3 tables that appeared to be booked and those x3 tables occupied six people. When we asked again if we could eat @6.30pm we were told we couldn’t. We were advised there was a new menu and they didn’t want to overwhelm the kitchen!! As it’s very difficult for the kitchen to learn a new menu. We asked to speak to the manager Reece and all he could offer was a refund of the breakfast and dinner!
I wouldn’t stay here again!! There needs to be some review of the kitchen capacity in this venue!!
- 275DavidW (10/5): Hotel up to the Premier Inn Standards - This was our first stay at this Premier Inn Hotel staying for 4 nights. On arrival when we checked in, we were able to book a Meal-Deal for our 1st night at the hotel which was very helpful saving us the need to go out and find somewhere to get a meal. The first thing we noticed on arrival that they had plenty of staff on duty similar to other Premier Inns we had stayed at that we visited within the first few years of them opening. The only issues we had was the TV remote control not being very responsive which we reported and seemed a little better after it being attended to but still not 100%. The other item was it felt quite chilly in the room even with the room temperature control set to its highest level of 30c which we reported to reception and was told that an adjustment would be remotely made to the heating system which seemed to work and the room was warmer.
- K6882TNvaleriep (10/5): Very friendly hotel - Very friendly hotel, good service, clean and comfortable room. Parking was the worst part. Multi storey next door which cost £16.00 for an overnight stay.
- Mobile11353503341 (10/5): Best Premier Inn in the UK - Fantastic staff at this hotel. Best Premier Inn in the country because of the friendliness of the staff. Everything was perfect. Thank you, was a great stay
- 707nikitah (10/5): Great value for money - Great value for money, didn’t take long to get to Exeter for the rugby. Massive room with plenty of space, comfy bed and great in room facilities.
- nessief (10/5): Excellent value - We had a top floor roo., fabulous, as no footsteps above us. Two quick lifts available. Very clean and tidy with exemplary staff, who were very friendly and efficient. We would stay again
- T1424FPphilipp (10/5): Lovely Hotel and Staff - Been here for a while for work purposes. Rooms are comfortable, clean and roomy. Bar/Restaurant is bit small so best to book a time for food in the evening. Food is freshly cooked and delicious. The front of house staff (Tegan, Rhys, Luis, Charlotte, Nessa) are all lovely and friendly and they are helpful if you need anything. If your staying longer than 1 night ask at reception to get your room cleaned by the brilliant housekeeping ladies.
Car Parking is not available at the hotel but there is a council multistorey car park right next to the hotel and yes it’s not really cheap but its close, safe to the hotel. There is a height restriction though.
- cameroncN2192QV (10/5): An Amazing stay - The staff were fantastic, always helpful and going above and beyond. Tegan, Rhys, Nessa & Luis are always welcoming!!!
- rayrest (10/5): You can depend on premier inn - Nice, clean premier inn and friendly staff.
Good quality food.
Excellent value for money.
Parking in the multistorey carpark and overnight is £16
- Camper55080415051 (10/5): Really enjoyed. - Really enjoyed our stay. Everything looks neat and clean.will definitely recommend.will come back soon . nice location too
- R4240KIstephenh (6/5): Not a good night's sleep - Would have been nice to have been told pub (beefeater ) had closed down when i booked it thanks so much for not telling me. Was in room 7. They have built a breakfast room next door from 7 am all you can hear is plates being moved fridge doors opening. Not ideal.
- foodcriticchatham (10/5): Loved it - It was fantastic the staff were lovely the receptionist was amazing and had a wonderful personality she loved to crack a joke but worried way to much
- 574minl (10/5): Newly done, easy, friendly, clean - just what you need! - I had a perfect comfy and easy experience here. Good value, quite nice interior - it all looked quite recently done up. Bathrooms were actually quite nice, the room had a big fan, big duvet as a spare, and comfy bed/pillows. I quite liked the vanity mirror separately from the bathroom which is nice getting ready. Staff were incredibly kind and friendly. I’d love to come back for a weekend and stay here!
- 135sharono (10/5): Lovely family trip - Very friendly and welcoming staff, changed our booking without any fuss, we only stayed one night, but had a lovely stay, room was a little warm, but fans available
- KentishTraveller13 (6/5): Sadly - things not as they were. - There is little doubt in my mind that the quality of Premier inns and associated restaurants is suffering seriously from the present state of Whitbread. Staff numbers have been reduced leading to long waits at hotel and restaurant reception desks. Staff are doing their best to battle with the conditions but it is obvious that morale is lower than it was.
I and my friends have been customers for many years and have returned often because we liked the facilities, the menus and the enthusiasm of the staff. At least five of the Premier Inns have lost their Beefeaters and the replacements have been poorer and no longer accepting non-resident guests. I have visited three Premier Inns this quarter.
The staff at Tonbridge did their best to make my visit comfortable but service has to deteriorate if numbers remain at present levels.
- sharongO2807PU (6/5): Room too hot to sleep in. - The room was too hot to sleep in. Although a fan was provided it didn't make the slightest difference. The window could only open a few inches.
- corndodger (6/5): Overall picture - Overall just somewhere to rest your head try to book odd number room even numbers face road bloody noisy have to share a chair as only one supplied no good for more than one night lack of facilities no fridge so in warm weather nowhere tokeep anything cool.
- charlicmanc (10/5): Quiet and Friendly - Really nice hotel, good value for money for the location, car parking is readily available. staff on reception were friendly and check in process was easy. the room was spacious and clean and the whole hotel was quiet. food at the beefeater next door was lovely, breakfast and evening meal were easy to book at reception.
- h0lidayking (10/5): Nice pleasant stay - We stayed here for two nights over the Easter weekend.
We found everything to be as we expected. Nice clean room, recently refurbished. Spotless bedding and towels, plenty of hot water.
Warm welcome by staff member, nothing too much trouble.
We had the meal deal for the adjacent Beefeater. Everything was good, we couldn’t fault it.
Would definitely use the Premier Inn and Beefeater again
- 50mv2018 (10/5): Great hotel, great location - Great hotel in a great location. We were visiting family and it was central to everything we needed in Tonbridge. It was clean, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant for breakfast was great. Would definately stay again.
- chal2nj (10/5): We were there to visit family in the area but the kids loved the hotel! - I was travelling with my 2 children (7 and 9). The 3 beds were made up really well and were super cosy. The kids loved the experience of the hotel even though we were visiting family.
All the staff were friendly. Building felt safe and secure.
Ultimate breakfast with the kids eating free was ridiculous value for money. Amazing.
- Navigator42411820414 (10/5): To short and very sweet. - Premier inn Tonbridge North std the Gold standard for all the others up and down the UK, it was clean and fresh and the staff were lovely. My Husband and I have stayed at many premier inns and this was far ahead of the rest. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
