Guest Reviews
- Richard (4/5): - The property is located on a site which includes a hotel and a group of small private homes. None of which is a negative. The area is very quiet, but you definitely need a car.
The surrounding area is sensationally beautiful and well worth a visit and we enjoyed our trips out very much.
The property itself was disappointing. It looked good on paper, but the moment we opened the front door, it was smelly.
The smell was a continual issue. Every time we returned from a trip, it was as though the place had been left unattended for a few weeks. There was a raised area of flooring which seemed to me to be an issue as well. Is this where it came from?
We had to open all the windows each time we got back. On the third day of our 5 night stay, we returned and the it smelt strongly of (I assume) sewerage chemicals. Opening windows cleared it, but it was the final straw so we decided to cut our losses and return home.
I had a couple of other gripes, but none would have been enough to cause us to go home early. The smell is the main complaint - an air freshener would not have sorted it.
All the correspondence I’d had, was from Sykes Cottages, I tried to contact them on their What’s App, as I wanted to let them know. I had no response - not until days after we were home. I asked them for a refund on the final two nights. I’ve still yet to hear about this, but Expedia, although, were helpful but were not able to get this from them either it seems. Not happy.
