Guest Reviews
- Lynn (10/5): - Excellent place to stay in Alpena.
Clean, well maintained & convenient for our needs.
- Alan (10/5): - Very clean, nice room.
- Jill (10/5): - Very Clean and Staff is Friendly and very helpful
- John (10/5): - Brand new!
- Matthew (10/5): - This hotel is new as of April 2025, so it is very clean and new! The desk clerk was very professional and friendly, and even upgraded us. Our King Suite was gorgeous and spacious. Minor complaints that the doors are very heavy so when people come and go - it is loud. We used our sound maker to buffer the noise at night. Breakfast was great, offering the usual options but very tidy and tended to, and plenty of seating!
- Ernest (10/5): - Very nice and we will be back soon
- William (10/5): - Clean
- Matthew (8/5): - Breakfast was fine
- Carol (10/5): Alpena - I was disappointed with the breakfast selection, being gluten-free. Plus Saturday morning there was hardly anything left when we got down there.
Though I don't know their situations, I thought the desk staff handled the cranky clients well. Good job :)
- Kenneth (10/5): - Clean and comfortable!
- owen (4/5): - The hotel has poor management, which is a shame since the physical property is great.
- ROSEMARY (10/5): - The room was nice and big.( I am handicapped and in a wheelchair and you were very accommodating.) The staff was very friendly. The pool was nice and clean and big. The breakfast was great.
- Mai (10/5): - The breakfast could be better.Love the grits our first time seeing it. We stayed at the hotel for 5 days, on 1 of the morning a blond girl served raw grits it was terrible when we had a mouthful of raw grits. I mentioned it to her, she took it to the back and brought it back out and we thought she fixed it,but all she did was stirring it up.Someone went to complain and a manager went to the kitchen , I don't know what happened after that we were done with the grits that day. The most annoying thing in the room WAS the toilet paper roll holder, that toilet paper holder is the worst invention. It's frustrating when we use the toilet paper, it falls off the holder, and
roll onto the floor we constantly have to pick it up.
- Mary Ann (10/5): - Rooms are new, clean and comfortable. Check in was very easy and agent was great.
- Ashley (10/5): - This was our second stay in the last few days due to a death in the family. The staff was so kind. Our room was really nice and our daughter loved the pool again. The breakfast was great: the waffle maker was a huge hit
- Judy (10/5): I recommend if you're in Alpena! - 9/11/25. Everything from start to finish was great. This is a new hotel, it's only been operating for 5 months. Check in was easy and the person we spoke to, Chris, was so helpful. He made sure we got a room away from the elevators, and the room was great. Very clean and well equipped with plenty of soft, fluffy towels. TV was easy to use, attached to the wall but movable. Breakfast was very good, plenty of hot food to choose from.
- Kathy (10/5): - The best hotel in Alpena. FINALLY a nice hotel in this town!!!
- James (10/5): - New facility and a very friendly staff. Located in a good area.
- Ashley (10/5): - Beautiful hotel for the area! I grew up coming to Alpena for the summer to spend with family and this hotel is such an upgrade. We have stayed at all the others and this is by far the nicest and cleanest! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The snack area was a huge hit for my daughter and the pool was super nice. Will be booking here again!
- Amanda (10/5): - Great pool
- James (10/5): Great Stay - Stayed 2 nights while traveling on business. Property was clean, comfortable, and affordable. Kelly, the front desk manager went out of her way to ensure everything was perect.
- Pamela (10/5): - This is a beautiful new property.
- David (8/5): - The bathroom door in room 200 squeaked loudly when opened. Not good in the middle of the night. No courtesy umbrellas for the guests to get to their cars.
- Susan (10/5): - Beds and breakfasts were great!
- James (2/5): - very disappointed. We waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to the front desk. After check in we went up to the 3rd floor and our room was not ready. Had to wait another 15 minutes before that was rectify. They did give us a upgrade to a suite on the first floor. So that makes up for it. Staff needs a major trainee program. Hampton Inn needs to recruit to bring in more qualified help and train them.
- David (10/5): - Very nice facility, only thing I could say is the room doors don't seal to the floor and hallway noise transfers into the room, other than that very nice pleasant stay in room 213
- Rachel (10/5): Amazing Stay - It was a nice, brand-new hotel. We booked last minute to visit family. The assistant manager was sweet and professional. This will be our top pick when traveling to Alpena.
- Amanda (10/5): - Very clean and nicely appointed room. Staff was friendly and very helpful
- Mark (6/5): - It was ok but issues with checkin and people were above us stomping until 1am
- Nalini (6/5): - Clean, new property, very helpful staff. The walls are incredibly thin, I had a first floor room and couldn’t sleep with road traffic, hearing and feeling people walking upstairs, snoring coming from some direction, and hearing other toilets flushing.
- Pankaj (6/5): - Breakfast was not good
- Johanna (8/5): Business trip - Business trip 4 days. Only issue was it took a very long time to find my reservation. I was upgraded for my room though- apparently there were several out of order. I will be back!
- Mary (10/5): - This hotel has only been open for about 6 weeks and everything is brand new and lovely. Beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were clean and nicely set up. The lobby was spacious. The staff were super friendly and nice. The breakfast was nice with lots of great waffle toppings as well as eggs, yogurt, potatoes, bacon, oatmeal with toppings, etc.
- Paul (8/5): - Brand new hotel. Breakfast could use water, skim milk for cereal, better waffle making instructions.
- maureen (10/5): - Great new Hampton Hotel!
- Michael (4/5): - We booked 3 rooms last minute through expedia to celebrate and use the pool to relax after my daughter graduated and we finished her grad open house. We checked in between 5-6pm. At about 6:45pm when i called the desk to ask a question i was then informed the pool was closed and had been since the hotel opened. Nowhere throughout booking was there any mention of the hotel pool being down. The front desk person, Garrett was very polite and even called another hotel regarding us using their pool, which they allowed us to, until 9pm, giving us 1 hour to swim. We wasted a hell of a lot of money on rooms for nothing. We live local and stay locally on a regular basis. We will stick with Days Inn.
- Doris (6/5): - The place is brand new, so everything is in great condition. However, when the staff started fixing breakfast, banging pots and pans, talking loud, and waking me up at 4:45 am, not good. I even went out and told them to keep ot down, i was sleeping. They didn't.
- Johanna (10/5): Perfect! - I found out it’s newly built. It’s clean, fresh, and welcoming. It’s nice to write that, as I travel a LOT for work! Hoping to stay again!!
- Elizabeth (6/5): Pool not open - The stay was okay but the pool isn’t open and they don’t advertise that anywhere so be aware it may not be ready yet!
- Rev. W. Roger (10/5): - Need work on entry road unto the property
- Deb (10/5): - Front desk people were so nice!!
