Guest Reviews
- Nayeli (10/5): - Clean rooms, nice staff
- Joel (10/5): - I enjoyed the roof top view of the mountain
- Alisson (8/5): - Too noisy
- Vanessa Sanchez (10/5): - Great place to stay the staff were very friendly and welcoming
- JUAN (10/5): - Pet friendly
- Xiomara (10/5): - Todo muy bien y personal amable
- Delfina (10/5): - A little noisy.
- kiley (6/5): - The hotel is in a great location and is a very pretty. The staff was very nice. Unfortunately, my bed was as hard as a rock and im not a fan of extra firm mattresses so i didnt sleep very well. Other than that, i had no complaints.....until it was time to check out. They checked the room before letting us leave and basically accused us of stealing two ponchos from the room. I told them that we had never even seen any ponchos in the room. They made us bring our luggage back into the hotel (it had already been loaded onto our shuttle) and they searched through our belongings looking for the ponchos. They werent there of course because we hadnt stolen anything. We were then told "we wont charge you for them, maybe theyre in the laundry". Next trip to Antigua, I'll be picking a different hotel.
- Valeriann (10/5): - Beautiful
- COSSET (10/5): - Hotel Casa Carmina in Antigua boasts an unbeatable location and a truly exceptional rooftop, offering breathtaking early morning views of the three surrounding volcanoes. The hotel's beautiful terrace also adds to the overall charm. However, like other online reviewers, I must mention the persistent strange smell in the room throughout our three-day stay. Additionally, our dining experience at the hotel restaurant was disappointing. Despite these drawbacks, the numerous positive aspects, especially the panoramic views, outweigh the negatives, and I would consider staying at Hotel Casa Carmina again in the future.
- KATHY (8/5): - walking distance to everything
- Carlos Rene (8/5): - Buen lugar
- Linda (10/5): - Nice clean and safe. Staff was very helpful in assisting with booking transportation to the airport.
- Vanessa (2/5): - Dirty comforter, old stain, that they tried to wash on the sink and telling us it won’t come off so charged $30. The bed made me itch so I did not go inside the comforter, my sister got bit so maybe bed bugs. One of the bed heels came off and I had to pop it back in, shower head was dirty. Room was very humid and the lights were too dim, probably to hide the dirtiness of the room. Cheap and affordable but will definitely never staying here again.
- Mariel (10/5): - Lindo lugar.
- Alejandro (10/5): Excelente ubicación, buen servicio - Muy bien cuidado y excelente ubicación
- Felicia (10/5): - This property is truly wonderful. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Although we arrived early, one of our rooms was ready, and we were promptly allowed to check in. The rooms were both clean and spacious. I would gladly stay here again and offer my highest recommendation. Breakfast at the restaurant was also exceptional.
- Alejandro (8/5): - Good place for a short weekend trip
- Byron (10/5): - Very helpful staff
- Byron (8/5): - Very helpful staff
- Richard (6/5): - The place was ok, but we booked a room for 3 days, but we didn't need to stay the 3 nights ..We stayed 2 nights and the hotel wouldn't give us a refund for the third day or not even a vocher for that day, so i am disappointed in this hotel's policies...
- Stephen (10/5): - If you are looking for a great hotel in Antigua this is the best option at a great price. Great breakfast buffet (paid), clean modern rooms and transportation available to the airport or lake atitlan at competitive prices 100% would recommend.
- Rachel (10/5): - A beautiful property close to one of my favorite coffee shops! It was clean and loved that they had filtered water available on each floor. I would definitely stay here again
- KARIN (10/5): - The property is clean, feel safe, the staff is friendly and the rooms are big and spacious. I stayed with my family of six and we were all comfortable in the room.
- Fatima (10/5): - Cuando la terminen de renovar estará 100ptos
- Yanci Y Castillo (4/5): - Rooms were ok, not only they provided us with 2 towels for 4 people but wanted to charge us with towels that weren’t provided, and a hanger that we didn’t even use. We won’t stay here again.
- Marvin (10/5): - Good
- Leonor (6/5): - No a/c and no cable
- Angel (10/5): - Very clean hotel, staff very friendly and professional
- Andre (10/5): Recommend - Great location. Comfortable.
- Alvaro (10/5): - Mucha paz y tranquilidad
- IZHAK (10/5): - Good
- Arlette Santana (10/5): - Walkable hotel from center antigua
- Marcelo (2/5): - Horrible, do not waste your money. There was a dead cockroach in our bathroom. And a construction started at 7 am which did not let us sleep. The A/C turned off at 6 am and did not work for the rest of the morning. It was a bad experience, when talking to front desk they did not care and didn't even apologize for the horrible night.
- Martin (10/5): - Great location and facilities will be excellent after renovations are complete
- Glenn (10/5): - Great spot
- Karen (10/5): - Kathy was fantastic!
- Sergio Josue (10/5): - Nice hotel. Recommend!
- maximo (10/5): - Hermoso lugar con excelente ubicación.
Sin duda volvería a hospedarme aquí.
- Camila (8/5): - Linda habitación, el staff muy amable.
- Michael (10/5): - Great location and very comfortable rooms.
Love the A/C and the shower!
Loved the open-air, center courtyard.
- Daniel (10/5): - The place was very clean and staff was very helpful.
- Ana (4/5): - Demasiado ruido .
- Patricia (10/5): - A tranquil and comfortable place to stay that feels outside the tourist area but is an easy walk to our favorite sites
- Caesar (10/5): - The property is truly beautiful and is well kept. Our room was fresh, clean and large. We ate at the rooftop restaurant which was very fair. The views while dining are incredible. I’d definitely return.
- Marco antonio (10/5): - Lindas instalaciones
- Alfonso (10/5): - A+
Si me volvería a quedar ahí.
- joe (10/5): - Great, quiet and affordable. Best bargain for staying in central Antigua.
- Raquel (6/5): - The room was spacious and clean, comfortable beds and pillows.
The bathroom floor had a lot of paint stains all over the floor, and the shower head was very disgusting dirty, the bathroom cleaning needs more attention and all that paint in the floor and poor walls maintenance in the bathroom needs better work. There was a horrible smell from the cabinet under the bathroom sink.
Unfortunately we had a room with the windows towards the street and was very noise at all hours. We were told by one of the ladies at the front desk that the streets was going to be closed from that afternoon forward because of the Holly week, and that it was going to be quiet for the rest of he the few days that we were staying. But that was a lie.
Maybe one of the days that we stayed and only for few hours the traffic had no access but other than that it was noisy this made it difficult to sleep at night and the noise woke us up early in the morning.
The roof area is very nice with fantastic view to the volcano.
Better maintenance and cleaner bathrooms will be good.
- Malik (10/5): - Great place to reset and recharge after the hike up Acatenaego
- luis (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff, beautiful building.
- Anahita (10/5): - My kids and I arrived late in the evening to the hotel yet the staff was aware and waiting for us. The staff were soooooo nice and friendly, always helpful and so respectful the entire duration of our stay (6 nights). It's a beautiful hotel, 10-15 minutes walking distance to Antigua center (depending on your pace). Right on the corner there is an amazing sourdough bakery, so every day on the way out or back to the hotel, we would stop by and get croissant or breakfast and OMG their pizza was great.
The hotel rooms were super clean. There is a safe in the room, which was great since I could leave our valuables in there. The shower/water is tricky to get the right temperature as it gets hot and cold, but it is not a big issue.
The hotel lobby was very cute and I would sit out there in the afternoons, when taking a midday break at the hotel.
I needed laundry to be done and for US$8, I was able to hand over a bag full of dirty clothes and it was in my room the next afternoon, all folded too. Very convenient.
I would highly recommend this hotel and I would definitely go back there next time I go to Antigua.
- Martha (2/5): - Nothing like the pictures, no light in the room and shower didn’t work.
- Walter (10/5): - It was good for a place to sleep and to use as a central base to explore the city.
- Verified traveler (6/5): 3 Star for good location, but super loud not great - The hotel itself is lovely esthetically. The location was grear. However the walls are not insulated because i had my windows closed, fan and AC off and woke up freezing where i had to use the extra beds blankets. The walls are so thin i can hear every guest check into their room from the front desk and every guest close their room door. I heard conversations and laughter that could keep any person awake all night. Which unfortunately i had terrible sleep because of both these issues. The cold and and noise i give a 3 star.
- Jose (8/5): - It was a great and cozy stay.
- rigoberto (8/5): - Bien
- Jorge (10/5): - The hotel is just really nice, beautiful patio in the middle and the location was perfect for the purpose of this trip.
- Henry (10/5): - I had an outstanding experience with the guest service! From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly. They went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met, and their attention to detail was truly impressive. It's rare to encounter such a high level of care, and it made my visit truly enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for top-notch customer service!

- Jorge (10/5): - 'todos muy - ambles en el Hotel
- Edgar (10/5): - Great location and great and friendly staff
- Dulce (6/5): - Personal amable
- Edgar (10/5): - Great location and great staff
- Richard (8/5): Surprisingly a great hotel for for the price! - Surpringly a great hotel for the price. I paid $69 Canadian dollars for Sunday night. Quiet room, comfy beds.
- Keith (6/5): - Normally I don’t submit negative reviews, however this one is a mixed bag. First the good, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom large, there was ample storage and desktop space. But… the hot water sometimes barely ran out of the shower-head, other times it overwhelmed the cold water and scolded you! After walking from the bed into the bathroom, your feet were covered in black dust, strange the room floor was filthy, but I witnessed the custodial crew mop the lobby floors every morning. The lighting in the room itself was dismal, even at 12 in the afternoon there was barely enough light to see what you were doing with all the lights turned on and the curtains open. The noise was relentless, street noise 24/7. In addition, they were changing the windows in the rooms just outside our doors and there was sawing pounding, and Glass shattering every day, they kept the room doors open the entire time. In addition, one morning, we were woken up to a tour guide yelling at people on what the days agenda was going to be. If you want a quiet hotel, this is not the one. I guess the thing that bothered me the most, was their unfriendlines. At check in we were made to feel like we were doing the hotel a favor by staying there. In our three days that we stayed at the hotel not one person behind the desk greeted us. They kept heads down and kept reading their monitors and talking with each other. Very un-Guatemalan like! All this and the hotel is no bargain, one of the most expensive stays.
- JORGE (6/5): - .
- Sharon (8/5): - We really liked the open spaced patio, the room and the location. We had a room in the first floor and could hear the people at the reception. Feels like the walls are very thin. Other than that we had a great time, great value for money.
We would come back.
- castlestj (10/5): - Among the best of the hotels in its price range
- Ricardo (10/5): - everything was great
- Vandana (8/5): - The room was large and clean. The hotel was beautiful. However, the fan/light combo never worked together. We had to call the staff daily twice to get one or the other. It was a hassle though staff was sweet.
Also, a mirror in the room and some hooks would have helped tremendously
No incluye desayuno.
- Cassidy (8/5): - The house was cute, with a nice courtyard and rooftop terrace to look at the volcanoes. Check-in was a little hectic since a bus load of tourists had arrived at the same time. This seems to be the standard guest at this hotel, and only they have access to meals at the hotel. In the morning, one of the tour leaders was screaming through the hotel that breakfast was ready, at 6:30... We and another regular guest complained about that. If we had wanted noise, we would have chosen a party hotel. Our room also did not include a closet to store out bags and clothes, so we had to leave them on the floor. There is no hair dryer in the hotel, and we asked twice to make sure. There is no parking in the hotel, and the place across the street is $25 for 12 hours. Before we could leave, the staff went to the room and inspected the mini bar, inspected the sheets for stains, and generally acted like we didn't have a credit card on file. We wouldn't stay here again, as there are many hotels in town to choose from.
- Maria (10/5): - I flew solo for a wedding and booked this hotel for 3 nights. I loved it. Staff was great, they helped me book transportation from the airport to the hotel from a third party. I was able to check in early. The hotel is within walking distance to all shops and restaurants. The rooms were clean. The noise level was good.
- Carol (6/5): - Clean and staff friendly but lacking some simple amenities like drinking glasses, luggage rack and desk. Just a nightstand. Had to put suitcases on floor or the other unused bed.
- Jane (6/5): - It was a good hotel for the price, just nothing special, very basic room. The mattress was hard as a rock. The location wasn’t bad but was a little on the outskirts of the city (but the city is small so not far). It was good just nothing special, wouldn’t refuse to stay again but would probably try somewhere else first.
- Joette (8/5): - Wonderful staff clean room. No breakfast or perks. No washcloths. Hotel still in process. Constuction going on all day.
- jaime (10/5): - Very good
