Simone (10/5): - My experience with royal hotel was indeed a great and enjoyable experience. I love the staff. Hotel is perfect and spacious rooms well kept. I was able to rely on their taxi service meeting Alex and Glen as taxi drivers were more than business, their service was reliable and l felt very secured. How ever my only down side to my stay with this hotel is to have room phones working which l hope they improve with. Overall l will definitely recommend this hotel for safety reason security at the front of the building always. I love my stay and will definitely be back again in the near future. The first 2 days their was a very loud noise it started at 5 am the front desk act like they were unaware of the problem So they moved us further down the hall to another room. I would say. 80 to 90% of the staff did not speak english. Couldn't understand that. When its a English-speaking country? Why wouldn't they have more of the local people working there? It made it very inconvenient when there was a problem. The royal international restaurant was horrible.I would give them a 2 out of 10 rating the food was always cold. The second night there, my husband and I went to dinner at the restaurant he got his food first I waited 20 to 30 minutes for them to bring out my food. Both meals were cold the. Kitchen was no more than 10 feet from our table we spoke to the manager I guess that's who she was and I say that because they did not speak English.Bottom line, we were still charged for the meal.Because my husband got frustrated , going back and forth with this person. We wouldn't recommend staying at the royal international hotel
Rajendra (2/5): - Let's start with check in process, the folks that does the check is Chinese and don't understand or speak a bit of English, took 1 hr. to check in. The room, the bathroom exhaust fan broken, the water in the shower don't drain and the sink in don't have a P- trap sewage gas smell. We complain daily with any resolution. This supposed to be an International Hotel but the standard is like a Motel.

Damita jo (2/5): - This hotel was a terrible experience, and I would strongly advise others to avoid it. • The shower was a disaster, with water overflowing into the bathroom and not draining at all. The entire setup was unsanitary and unsafe. • Communication was almost impossible since most of the staff do not speak English, and interactions with them were frustrating. • The beds are extremely low and uncomfortable, the breakfast options are poor, and basic necessities like towels and toilet paper are barely provided. In a double room, only two bath towels were given, and just one roll of toilet paper — completely unacceptable for guests. • The pool is hidden outside at the back of the property, and this was not made clear beforehand. • Worst of all, a staff member was not only rude but also made offensive racial comments toward my family. This is absolutely unacceptable and reflects extremely poorly on the management of this hotel. I regret booking here and would not recommend this property to anyone.

Lets start with cleanliness, after staying 3 nights in the room without maid service, we realized our sheets had a BLOOD stain on them. This is unacceptable under any circumstance, but particularly revolting when paying to stay at a hotel. This means that either the maid service saw the blood stain and decided to keep the sheet, or didnt see it which is wildly negligent. After sending a complaint about the filthy sheets, the manager, Mrs. Pamela said she would like to meet with me to solve the problem. We met, she took my information, and I never heard from their staff again. I even tried reaching out a week later as they said upper management would need to review our situation. I never got a response. Speaking of staff, its pretty evident that no one is trained in hospitality at this establishment. With the exception of 3-4 staff members, everyone else was clueless. Zero knowledge about the area around the hotel, attractions, or directions. The bar and pool that is advertised is not even on the property. Its around the corner on the roof of the mall thats attached. DO not spend your money, or waste your time here. The sad thing is there is a ton of potential at this hotel, its just poorly run and managed. Stay at the Marriot instead.
Brian (2/5): - None off the staff spoke English they were all Chinese and Spanish then to top it all off the toilet was in the bathroom every time you have to use it your feet was wet not forgetting the banging above from the gym and to make it worst the bar upstairs plays music till 5am there is many more to mention but never again and would never recommend it. Wish I could just get a refund. Even the breakfast was the worst

Bathrooms- very dangerous and poses a risk for falls since they have a pipe that is draining the AC water directly onto the shower/toilet floor. Front Desk/Staffs: Not so pleasant and lack of communication due to the language barrier. Limited English speaking staffs. Have to use your translator to communicate with the house-keeping staffs. Noisy: Since there are two lounges in this hotel, at night all you can hear is the banging of music bass in the walls. Not sure of the other rooms, but from mine it was horrible to deal with. Smell: From the time you enter the lobby there is a funky smell. Even in the rooms and hall ways there is a funky smell coming from the vents.

I try to change they said next day. but was not able too to it. there is a casino attached next to it. The breakfast was ok. But the Love and Latte cafe around the corner same building 2nd fl. OMG the Americano coffee and cappuccino delicious!!!. There is Not 24hr food service in the hotel. they definitely need one there. And a little convenient store would be great if they can have that too.

Peatria (6/5): - Pros: Clean hotel and a hot breakfast daily. Casino onsite, we did not visit however, so no comments. Cons: Bed and pillows are very hard. It's like sleeping on a hard wooden bench with a mattress pad. We had 2 rooms for a 5 day stay; however, I could not use my balcony for 4 of those days because workers were camped out there with construction equipment. Additionally, my room was not cleaned properly one day. Housekeeping started but did not finish. I alerted the management team of both instances and I received an apology via an email. No monetary compensation or a small gift, or a one night stay compensation just the emai! Will never stay here again, this was not a good experience for us. Expedia did end up crediting us some one key cash, which is good towards another booking on Expedia.

There is a glass wall separating the beds from the shower and the blind for that is on the outside so anyone can pull it up while you are in the shower. The beds are uncomfortable, very hard and pillows are a bit too flat for me. The lobby bar is expensive! Overall I would stay again because of price and proximity.

maxwell (8/5): - The hotel is clean & safe, the rooms were clean and had almost everything you need, bathroom door hook would he helpful, for towels etc. Staff do try hard, some language barriers, Spanish/Chineese staff understanding not all I said, but the did try hard. The GM Ms Pamela, was very kind and helpful, as were the front dest team. Could do with another good clean & good value resturant, not just Chineese. Not much else close by. I will be back. Thanks

Cassondra (2/5): - Terrible smells. Heavy insecticide smell in corridor leading to the pool. Caused me to cough heavily and my eyes to tear. That insecticide smell also seeped into the hotel’s lobby. Bathrooms in the lobby smelled of rotten eggs - sewage problems. Although there is a no-smoking floor, smoking is allowed in the halls of that floor and is particularly awful by the elevators. I checked out 7 or 8 different rooms on that floor, but they all smelled of cigarette smoke. The rooms may, theoretically, be for non-smokers, but allowing smokers in the halls negates the non-smoking designation. AWFUL, unhealthy hotel.

I reported it and they promptly had their technical team fix it. I didn't check their breakfast any single day though. I have to see if they Improved. I only ate bfast and there was a variety of food to choose from, one minder detail the staff have to make sure the water dispensers it full and be avaliable that customers can ask a question when have bfast. My overall experience at Royal International was enjoyable. They will see me again and I hope they keep up the hotel standards.

Staff did not speak English well. Most spoke Chinese. Need to hire local Guyanese people to work at the hotel and make the experience more authentic to Guyana. I understand the hotel is Asian owned but you are in Guyana and it should FEEL that way.

eloy (8/5): A little bit weird but it's a good place - This is chinese franchise. It's the first time I am in a hotel that belongs to a Chinese franchise. The hotel is pretty clean and nice, the food is also good. As usual they don't want to hire local people and most of the people do don't speak English or Spanish that is most of the population. Most of the guys do not speak english. This is something I can't understand. The Chinese lady in the front desk is pretty harsh with everybody including the guest. The local guys working the hotel are pretty nice though. The price is not good neither bad. I have a meeting all morning long I was impossible to get coffee water or whatever. This is just incredible. How in the hotel you close Services of water sandwich coffee tea from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. this is just unbelievable in a hospitality building. Again the local Guyanese employees are pretty kind with everybody. I would repeat my stay in this hotel? Yes I will
