Guest Reviews
- Erica (10/5): - Very good value for our first time in Dublin.
This place is modern and bright and our room was very satisfactory and on the third floor (no elevator). It was a dorm room and we had bedding, pillows, towels , even tiny shampoo, soap, lotion to go with the tiny bathroom.
Plenty of storage: wardrobe, drawers, desk, lamp, big window (didn’t open wide for obvious reasons), shelves in room and bathroom.
The floor below us had a kitchen lounge, well appointed. We made use of the iron and ironing board, stove, fridge, dishes. There was a dishwasher but we hand washed. We left breakfast items in a bag in the fridge, nothing touched.
We felt comfortable and safe at all times.
Be aware that the room does not self lock. You need your fob to get in to any building except the kitchen.
The main entrance area had a laundry room that we made use of for washing. Used the appWash app. Hung our clothes in our room to dry (bought some cord & pegs to hang items off and it was hot while we were there).
We had a car and knew there was no parking, so we watched parking times on main road, side road and Tesco to manage it. No tickets.
Tesco was a four minute walk. Food was pricier than the UK.
We stayed three nights and would recommend.
- Kristin (6/5): - **info only—not hotel’s fault**make sure to ask for a room away from the pub next door. They have an outdoor area that is LOUD until after 1 or 2am. This is a dorm room. It’s bare. They offer 1towel per person, shampoo and soap and toilet paper. You may use the gym and pay laundry. The bed was very comfortable, though. The area around the hotel had lots of choices for food and beverage within walking distance.
- Diane (6/5): - It was ok
- Jacob (10/5): - The housing was very clean and gave us everything we needed for our trip to Dublin.
- David (10/5): - The windows opened only slightly and one direction. My neighbors i could head everything because it was pointrd at my window. Great othrr than that
- Joel (10/5): - Great stay
- Isaiah C. (8/5): - The Residence has friendly staff and a comfortable room. It is about a 25-30 minute walk from all the main attractions. For me, this was preferred. The area around the Residence has a few good pubs and restaurants. The walls are thin, and you can hear most conversations and noise outside.
My only complaint is how the staff inconsistently handled a noise violation. The rooms got warm at night, and the window needed to be opened. You can hear someone's regular talking voice in their room if both windows are open.
I wouldn't mind staying here again!
- Beverley (8/5): - Basically the accommodation are student accommodation. These are basic clean room with a double bed and an en-suite, small shower, toilet and sink. Communal area to store and cook food with a TV. There are no TV in rooms. Good value for money for a short stay a couple of days. Walkable distance to local attractions 20-25 minutes walk to city centre and Heuston train station. Local transport available buses and trams. Shop and a few restaurants near by. If your looking for cheap city break stay then the Residence is ideal, cheap and cheerful, beds are comfortable and clean. Small toiletries are provided with a towel and there is a small lockable cupboard to keep money and passports. Felt very safe and secure. Friendly and helpful staff, reception is manned 24/7. It would have been used to have a bin in the room but the communal area is not too far to dump your rubbish. No VIP access as this was noted when booking if not offered should be removed from third party site as this is misleading. Check in is 4pm a suggestion that a VIP perk could be earlier check in. Overall a comfortable stay suitable for a short stay on a budget.👍
- Steve (8/5): - great location
- Norma Esmeralda (8/5): - Definitely nice for the price. My own little space. It was in a good location. We pretty much walked everywhere. There’s a pub right next door and walking the Brazen Head was about 10 to 15 minutes and Temple Bar only 15 to 20. The only thing I didn’t like is that my room smelled like wet dog… but I think it may have been the sheets and towels. I wasn’t there enough to be too bothered by it. And parking was ok. I can’t complain bc it’s like being in Chicago. Paid parking. But there were streets where after 7pm was free and one street time didn’t start until 8am where others were 7am. I just used the app to pay. Overall I would stay again. Front desk was always nice.
- Kim (6/5): - This is a no frills accommodation albeit in good shape. The rooms have the basics. They could use hand towels and hooks for your towels. The common kitchen area is well stocked with dishes and basic pots... fridge... hotpot...toaster. Our biggest issue was the noise level. The doors all make a loud sound when opening and shutting and the doors shut hard. You can hear everything in your suite area. If you have late nite neighbors even ear plugs don't really help.
- Paige (8/5): - My stay was fun, the kitchen and living room had everything needed to have a warm and welcoming stay. The bedrooms were spacious but very dusty in certain places but overall well cleaned. A lot of space in the The Residence to be entertained in door and outdoor. The staff was more than accommodating and help. I’d like to shout to Fin and Simone for their excellent customer service, as well as Aaron for being an absolute Peach and loving to learn about Canadian culture.
- Cesar (2/5): - The staff never clean our room. We were running out of soap and we had to go to reception to beg for a little bar of soap. I will never go that place again.
- Diane (8/5): - The bed was comfortable and the restaurant food was good.
- Annie (10/5): - The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. They were very helpful with all of our needs. When I asked for help with the laundry, the host came out to help me directly. Gym was such a nice bonus!
- John paul (4/5): - Didn’t change our sheets or give us new towels.
- Aislinn Rae (6/5): - You pay for what you get. If you are just using this space as a place to rest your head at night fine. There was one lady at the front desk who was needlessly rude and unaccomodating but the rest of the staff were great. We did have to purchase our own draino to unclog the shower drain on the first night as the lady at the front desk wouldnt do anything. There was a layer of dust on everything when we arrived and dead bugs in the window sill but again, you pay for what you get. The fan in the bathroom didnt work so it was very humid after a shower.
- Karyssa (10/5): - So, this is not the most glamorous stay by any means. You are in a college dorm and so things are tight. However, for housing in Dublin right now, it is a very, very good value. The area felt safer than much of the city and was close to a bus station. The communal area was also very nice. And the hot water really works!
- Emmy (6/5): - The Expedia page had said check in was at 2pm, although check in was actually at 4pm. Front desk were not super accommodating. The place itself was clean and conformable.
- P (10/5): Faultless - We booked The Residence as a value for money alternative to expensive hotels. I must say it far exceeded our expectations. The place was spotless throughout and the staff were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Highly recommended.
