Guest Reviews
- Sarah (6/5): - Affordable, and a place to sleep. No complaints, but nothing to write home about.
- Victoria (10/5): - It's a guestroom. There's graffiti outside but inside it's very neat. The good thing is you can cook something: there's a small stove and a small refrigerator. The owner had to wait for us for long time since we just flew in and had problems with the purchased SIM cards at the airport, and then due to the tram line construction it took us forever to get to the hotel from Termini. The only suggestion would be an AC.
- Denise (8/5): - Ok
- Laura (4/5): - Not worth the cheap price tag. As other reviews have mentioned the room was in a basement with a very damp and mouldy smell. We communicated our check in time yet still had to wait 30 minutes to be let in.
The aircon is very loud, there is a problem with the toilet and there is a lot of mould especially in the corner of the bathroom. I don’t think the place is appropriate to rent.
- Joyce (4/5): - I had read one of the reviews before booking, but I thought maybe they have fixed the room based on those comments.
1- it is a room in the basement, not a hotel.
2- the host is nice and welcoming, but the co host is not friendly or just always not in the mood.
3- the ac in the room works but no cool air would be felt. It was always hot in the room.
4- the kitchen and the bathroom smell very bad! The bathroom has mold as well.
5- bathroom flush doesn’t work, and it stays on for couple of minutes.
6- the window in the kitchen that overlooks to an alley, has no curtain, so no privacy. Don’t change in the room, but in the bathroom and close the door because you can still see from the bathroom if you don’t close the door.
It’s a good place to crash, as it is close to couple of main attractions and Termini Station.
I definitely wouldn’t come back.
- ADRIANA (6/5): - La zona en la que se ubica no es buena, la única ventaja es que tiene muy cerca paradas de tren y autobús
- Sierra (6/5): - The original host is a doll, the cohost not so much. The original house made a very easy to communicate with as in Nicole housing as she didn't want to be bothered we were asked to inform the cohost 10 minutes ahead of arrival which we did and we still waited outside for five minutes in the scorching heat with lots of suitcase that we had to walk because there is no close parking or provided parking. It's not really a hotel. There's no sign for it. More of somebody who owns an apartment and is renting it out. It is next to hotel Donnello but it is not set up as a hotel or does not have a front desk so it's like a room to rent, which was fine. Once in the apartment as soon as the courthouse open, the main entrance door is smelled of urine. After entering the apartment is smelled like mold. I do understand it was a basement apartment, but the smell was really strong. I don't think they keep dehumidifiers or an AC running at all down there. It is a basement apartment. There is a window that's on the sidewalk and it has no cover so no privacy and very awkward when people walk past so make sure you dress appropriately at all times and don't leave the bathroom door open they would be able to see in. I love the area personally city areas do not bother me at all was very convenient to be close to the heart of Rome. The bathroom shower was covered with mold and go in all the crevices and corners. Other than that. It was very convenient to have a washer. The kitchen and bed were clean.
- Emily (10/5): - Fantastic location a 10/12 min walk from termini and just a few doors up from porta maggiore where the tram terminus is. 5/10 min in the opposite direction is Manzoni underground station. Your a 7 min walk from Santa Croce with st giovanni in laterano just a little bit further away. The apartment was perfect for a me on my own or a couple. From the front door it’s down a short flight of steps, has a double bed, table with 2 chairs, small kitchen with basic equipment and crockery and cutlery. Decent powerful shower in the bathroom is always a bonus. My sheets were a little damp the first night so I messaged the host and she sent someone round while I was out who changed the sheets and towels and also emptied the bins. She came again on the Monday to change my sheets and towels. I couldn’t get the tv working but I didn’t mind as it was only Italian channels anyway and I had a book to read. Overall it’s a decent place for the price. Really loved the location. There’s not an awful lot to see in the locality but you can easily get to anywhere via public transport or even on foot. The 2000 year old porta maggiore is right outside your door and the first thing you see when you go out. When I got there I text the host from termini and then again when I got to the apartment and she was there to let me in within about 10 minutes which was great
- LAURA (6/5): - Television did not work lacked reception inside and toilet barely flushed including kept running
- Kristen (8/5): - Super helpful in volunteering (very reasonable fees for) pickup and drop off from the airport! No need to worry about arrival and connecting for keys. Very accommodating and gave us personal information and tips about sites and restaurants to visit. We enjoyed the 20+ min walks to the Colosseum and surrounding archaeological sites.
- Faith (10/5): - They were very accommodating.
