Guest Reviews
- lindasK3504YD (10/5): Quiet and comfortable - Lovely peaceful stay here, for a night at Festival Theatre. Clean, cosy room with a fabulous bed, I paid for a bigger room and still a great price. Good continental breakfast for £6. Definitely will return.
- 845richardi (2/5): Disgusting hotel. Not recommended, poor cleanliness and maintenance - I am genuinely astonished that we were charged £158 per night for this hotel.
The room was disgracefully dirty. The carpet was heavily stained, clearly un-hoovered, and still covered in debris from previous occupants. The tub chair was filthy, the bathroom floor tiles were loose and missing grout, and the shower had black mould throughout. The blind was broken, and the AC unit was so caked in dirt that it was frankly a health hazard.
Every surface had visible dust, spills, or splashes. The overall level of neglect was shocking, and frankly an embarrassment for Scotland’s hospitality standards. A quick look at other reviews shows this is far from an isolated incident.
Even the cheapest hotels manage basic cleanliness, but at £158 per night, this level of filth is unacceptable. Premier Inn should be deeply ashamed to put guests in rooms like this.
- Jones5025 (10/5): Amazing staff - Great little hotel this. Perfect location for me. Always stay here when working in the area. Clean rooms, great pub next door ( seperate from the hotel, so be aware breakfast times are different). Andy on reception is a star. Always approachable, friendly and happy. Looks like he really enjoys his job. Nothing is too much trouble. Great asset to this hotel so the company needs to appreciate what he does. Staff in the morning were friendly too.
- Jennie4024 (10/5): Just perect - We attended a wedding this weekend .. and the hotel had a very welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walked in through the door until you left.. the staff were very friendly and accommodating, Especially Andy ( the woman who took over I didn't catch her name... Sorry) who was not only friendly towards me and my husband, but also very sociable towards my children and very easy going to talk too and we were happy he was there both days we were there. The rooms were very clean and was exactly what we needed for our 2 day stay as well as perfect location so definitely worth the value we paid. Considering we were near a main ish road you barely hear any traffic even with the window partially open so noise level was just perfect for getting my children to sleep late at night as well as catching a slight breeze.. If I ever need to stay in this location again this will definitely be my stopping point...thankyou all for a perfect addition to our weekend.
- Hilbill26 (10/5): Great place for an overnight stay - Great location and perfect for a,stay over after a show have been a few times now friendly staff and great value breakfast lovely bar area so handy for the city centre and train
- Lisaloops13 (8/5): Fab stay. Get what you pay for - Just had a night at the Hub with my hubby. Got exactly what we paid for. Great location. Right next to the train station. Walking distance to everything else. Easy check in and out. We had a standard double. Compact but very clean. Apart from the overly stained chair. Lots of storage. Bathroom nice size. Comfy bed. We just wanted somewhere to lay our heads so this suited us perfectly. Only downside was no kettle. Only a free tea and coffee station down on the bottom floor. Which if you are on the fourth floor like we were was a bit of a pain going up and down. We would definitely the Hub again for short stays again if we knew we were going to be out and about all the time.
- W5947NFbrookeg (8/5): Great Hotel in an Even Greater Location - Overall, it was a very nice stay in a clean room in an excellent location. The hotel is located between City Center and Old Town Edinburgh so you have to option to choose your vibe for the day. Lots of great cafes and restaurants around to choose from. The room itself was very clean, had everything you could need and was very "high-tech". The bathroom walls and door are glass though, with only the bottom portion being frosted, so unless you are solo, things might get awkward. The food offered was minimal but decent. It was far too expensive for what you were getting however, a premade, reheated dish. I would definitely stay here again in the future and will probably recommend it to my friends and family who visit the area.
- 634bethanyf (10/5): Clean, welcoming, practical - Doesn't look like much from the outside but the rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff very helpful and friendly. We had no issues with road noise despite being so close to the A1 and not issues with internal noise either. Would definitely stay here again if we need a hotel in the area.
- Sandracmacl (2/5): Hotel fine Bar and Restaurant dirty - Hotel fine, standard you would expect from Premier Inn. Good location, excellent for Tram. Bar and restaurant awful. Stayed for long weekend and cleanliness of bar and restaurant not good. Same Food debris on floors under tables all weekend. Had been a roof issue debris from roof on floor for entire stay and a bed sheet hung up to disguise it! Chose not to eat there our first night when saw some of the food being served. Breakfast pretty poor quality less of a selection than I’ve experienced at previous Premier Inns. Can recommend Starbank Inn nearby for lunch or dinner.
- Trailadvisor (4/5): Poor breakfast service. - Great location for getting into Edinburgh. Refurbished rooms clean and tidy and at value for money prices. Superb sleep in comfortable bed.
Checked in on their app but still had to go through the process on arrival so don’t see the point.
Entering my details outside on a cold, wet and wintry day to pay for parking is not a great way to start my stay. Maybe locate machine indoors?
Breakfast had empty hot food trays (no black pudding or fried eggs) and when I mentioned it I was made to feel it was my fault. No supervision and breakfast staff have a couldn’t care less attitude. Very poor customer service.
- 485shahrzadh (10/5): Thank you Sharon - We stayed at the Premier Inn Edinburgh Leith Waterfront Hotel. It had incredibly beautiful views. The hotel was clean and quiet, and the staff were very friendly — especially Sharon, who was helpful and kind 🥰. If I come back, I’ll definitely choose this hotel again.
- 377nasreena (8/5): Great location! - I stayed here for a couple of nights. You always know what to expect from them. Everything in clean room was as expected
Great location just a few mins walk from waverley station and the royal mile.
I had breakfast on my 1st day..for £6 it was good. Porriage, fruits, cereal and toast with various spreads. Tea and coffee available 24hrs day in dining area, though not even a kettle in the rooms
Overall i would stay here again mainly for the location, and a decent hotel.
- S7323THjulies (10/5): Great stay - An amazing stay. Welcoming staff. Very clean and bed so comfy. Best night sleep. Breakfast was very good and everything perfect.
- andreasD8603YZ (2/5): Awful hotel stay anywhere but here - We stayed here in October for part of my husbands 50th birthday trip. Location was great but that is the only positive thing I can say about this hotel. worst hotel I have ever stayed in !!
Sheets were stained and dirty, asked for these to be changed but weren't.
During the night the lights and aircon kept coming on. We would turn them off an after half hour or so they would be back on again. As most people know Scotland isn't a tropical sunny place. We both ended up with colds ! I also have rheumatoid arthritis which was impacted by the air con and put a dampener on our stay as I was in pain.
We tried to complain while we were there but there was 1 member of staff covering reception, check ins, restaurant and bar and the member of staff kept leaving our conversation to attend to other guests. We told him we would contact Head Office.
Contacted Whitbread (Premier Inn) head office who said they couldn't help as it was a Hub so nothing to do with Premier Inn and we would need to contact the hotel directly.
After several calls, emails, feedback forms we are still waiting for a response nearly a month after our trip.
Awful customer service ! Terrible DIRTY hotel !
Avoid at all costs unless you don't mind being treated like an animal !
- 851bernadettet (8/5): Overnight stay - Premier inn in good location and close to public transport. Rooms clean and warm.
Breakfast in the Brewers Fayre was poor and the restaurant needed a good clean and dusted.
- Jodieness93 (10/5): Premier Plus - Booked premier inn plus with a view and wow what a view we got. Right on the waterfront and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Tram is a 10min walk from the Newhaven stop and there is also a bus stop directly opposite the hotel that will take you to the main heart of the city.
- StuartW2192 (2/5): Avoid - The room was tiny. The ventilation was really noisy. No hot breakfast which I cancelled for the second morning as the selection was shocking. I was starving and had to go elsewhere to get some breakfast. Why would ypu have this type of hotel. I booked this one by mistake. I meant to book the one next door which I have previously stayed in
- AGJDMGKM (10/5): Premier Inn St Neots review - Good budget hotel. Room and hotel in general was clean. Lots of parking spaces. Reception staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Easy check-in and check-out processes. Close to pubs and shops.
- 962coreyf (8/5): Great location, comfortable room. - This hotel was very much central to all the fun things to do in Edinburgh. The room was clean and the staff attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the WiFi was out and being 8000 miles from home without WiFi to contact family and friends was a bit painful. The room controls for lights and such were also kinda confusing, albeit, very sleek and modern. It didn’t seem like there was a way to turn on a light in the bathroom without lighting the entire room and disturbing those sleeping. Overall, a very nice hotel and would recommend (assuming the fix the WiFi).
- GordonA312 (2/5): Dirty, noisy & unwelcoming - If you like a friendly clean value for money hotel this isn’t for you.
Despite booking and paying for an early check in the process took about 20 minutes due to only have one staff member of duty who seemed to be having to juggle all the front of house jobs himself.
As you’ll see from my pictures the room was pretty dirty. I’d go as far as say it’s the dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in!!!
The mural of the wall is literally covered in dust and has clearly never been dusted. The carpet is covered in marks and stains and the bathroom is exactly the same marks dust and questionable stains everywhere.
If we didn’t absolutely need to stay here we’d have packed up and gone home.
The noise level in room overnight was also terrible there a fan that runs blowing constant air into the room and everyone you open the bathroom door a noisy extractor fan tickets in a runs for 10 minutes. You don’t even need to put the light on for this to start.
After we came back from the theatre we wanted to grab a quick drink in the hotel bar before heading to bed however staff advised there was a problem with the till. He sought a supervisor who came but couldn’t get the till working either so rudely said it wasn’t possible to purchase any drinks or snack. We asked if these could be added to our room and he replied “ no we don’t do that”. So much for customer service.
I’ve stayed at many Premier Inn hotels including the Hub brands over recent years and I’ve never had as poor experience as this.
£175 for a night is an absolute joke and we will never stay here again.
- Pioneer186157 (4/5): Budget version of Premiere Inn - Hotel is well situated just off the royal Mile with shop close by for essentials
The downstairs is nicely laid out with free tea/Coffee available. Rooms are small but adequate. Only downside is room service as in cleaning! Didn’t see anyone near our room for 4 nights 5days. Beds small but comfortable.
- alwayseatouthere (8/5): Warm & Very Comfortable Hotel - Stayed her for three nights. The staff were excellent. The rooms clean and cosy. Shower also great, hot and powerful. Hairdryer supplied which was handy. The nearby restaurant was handy but the breakfast was cold, even the tea so we only had breakfast once. Coffee was hot though. We only had one meal at the restaurant as we were spending a lot of time out with family. The roasts which we had were very large with lots of vegetables and tasted lovely. Again, not very hot. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
- Q762LBmarkh (10/5): Lovely stay - We had a lovely break at Edinburgh. Our room was lovely, comfortable and quiet. Very good sleep and nice food from the restaurant both breakfast and dinner. The tram was easy and efficient at a reasonable price.
- andypratt40 (8/5): A Five Night Break - Recently stayed at the Hub. Checking in and out was simple. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. Had a good range of food and drink for breakfast and throughout the day.
- Maharg2255 (6/5): Everythings not Premier, good night sleep not guaranteed! - Room 202 was okay, however it does not have a conventional window. Rather it has a Velux / roof window.
This caused some concerns. To open it I had to stand on a chair and then on the table to reach the opening latch.
Likewise to close the blind I had to do the very same. I'm not short (5ft 10) but this I feel was an unsafe practice.
Also the blind did not close correctly, it sagged out of the frame and also failed to stay shut.
It was mentioned to a member of the team on the day, but nothing could be done. We also mentioned it on checking out and was told 'thats a shame'
If I was to stay again then I would ask for another room.
- juliaap65 (10/5): A boutique hotel experience in a Premier Inn - The stay was absolutely fantastic.
The room extremely clean.
The whole experience was full premier inn with all the comfort; with Andy the staff member going above and beyond, this gave the hotel the personal touch of a boutique hotel.
Also another staff member Diane, nothing was too much trouble, both are a great asset to Premier Inn.
- Carperdiem (8/5): Ok hotel option - Our room was fine, although it was a long, long way away from check-in and entry to the building. The hotel itself is very near Leith waterfront shops, which includes a great fish and chip shop plus some other good restaurants and an ok local pub. It's also very close to local buses and trams, so it's a reasonable, cost-effective option for Edinborough given the prices in UK. It's at least 25 minutes walk to the attractive area of Leith itself, which is worth the walk.
- lyndseym853 (10/5): Excellent - Great experience. Would definitely use this hotel again.Great service, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed this stay from start to finish.
- V791JAanns (2/5): Claustrophobic and shabby - The rooms at The Hub are WAY BELOW the normal standards I expect from the Premier Inn. The carpet was very stained, the duvet cover didn’t fit, the lack of a window made the room claustrophobic, and the noisy air con made sleeping a challenge. I certainly won’t be staying at a Hub like this ever again, as it wasn’t good value for money
- 968johnw (10/5): Premier Inn - Gold Standard - We have stayed at Premier Inns as we generally receive a good standard of service which lives up to expectations. This Premier Inn was one of the best with exceptional customer service where nothing was too much trouble. Great room, clean, modern and exactly as we would have hoped for.
- gillianwebster1963 (10/5): Excellent from start to finish - Great parking and wonderful reception from Andy. Arrived early and just wanted to register the car for the carpark as you normally do at Premier. Andy said our room was ready and we were welcome to book in. He explained perfectly about room cleaning etc and where extra supplies of tea etc where. He explained where to go for the pub across the carpark and their times of service.
The room (12) was lovely and quiet and clean.
My partner had great conversations in the evening about football with Andy and he really enjoyed them.
Andy came to my rescue when one of my suckered bags lost its vacuum and exploded in my suitcase lol. He kindly found a hoover to collapse it again. Each evening saw him providing service to several guests who needed items above and beyond.
If it wasn't for needing to move on we would've stayed longer. All in all a great experience
- kickinaboot (8/5): Good - Good value for money in general. Room could’ve been doing with aircon and sleep was disturbed as the hotel is quite noisy but the family room was a good size and if you’re not sensitive to the noise you’ll be fine. As with all Premier Inns, it’s clean, staff are helpful and the breakfast is good value in these days of everything costing a fortune. Plenty of parking but is £5 for the night, which isn’t bad for the location.
- V7686EXnataliat (4/5): No room cleaning, loud AC - I can’t rate this hotel very highly—the only real pro was the location, as it was great for getting places. However on the first night our room had very loud bubbling and hissing pipes. We spoke to the manager about this and he tried a few things but honestly didn’t seem to know what he was doing, as he kept blaming it on the air con when it seemed clear to me it was unrelated since turning the air con to our room completely off didn’t stop the noise. They didn’t move us to another room as it was full apparently, didn’t give us any kind of money back, only gave us breakfast in the morning free which was better than nothing. The next day they were able to move us into a new room, which thankfully had no noise. But after sleeping there a night we needed the room cleaned. they don’t do this automatically and you have to ask at the desk, which we did, but when we came back to the hotel they clearly had not been in the room and had only left fresh towels outside the door, which is not something we needed—we needed bins emptying and fresh sheets but were forced to sleep on ones with a stain.
- OscilateWildly (6/5): A bit 50-50 - Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Great location. The room's carpet and chair were both really badly stained. Heating was not easy to adjust, and air con was noisy, so I had a choice - no sleep because I was too hot or because the air-con was too loud. Bedding didn't fit and mattress topper had a hole in it. Not cheap, so Premier Inn really should do better. My first stay in a Premier Inn, not entirely sure I will stay in one again.
- Iben (8/5): - Spiste ikke morgenmad på hotellet
- Carter (10/5): - We loved everything about the property. The people working there were incredible: very helpful and kind to patrons.
- David (8/5): - The rooms are quite compact, well designed, but be aware of size. We did not think of the dimensions ahead, and were not expecting to have to climb over each other to get in or out of bed.
- Kip (6/5): - breakfast was simple and adequate. Our room was efficient and very small, but the bed was good.
- yang (6/5): - The room was a little bit larger than a math box, not roomy to be comfortable. The room service staff provided only one towel for two of us. The toilet paper ran out. There was no paper tissue (Cleenex type) provided. The room was very dusty, so the toilet paper was used to clean up the area we used to leave personal items. The room carpet did not show it was vacuumed properly. BAD!
- GeorgieBillie (4/5): Not very good really!! - Really gone down hill!
Stayed here many times and always a pleasant and easy place to stay for a reasonable price
Now expensive and hotel dirty and in need of a huge revamp
Not sure why it’s looking so tired so quickly
- madison5 (8/5): Great location and food - Location, check in, staff, food, unlimited tea and coffee - could not fault. Bed was comfy with clean bedding. However, the room was not clean. Carpet heavily stained, thick dust on all skirting boards, door hinges and mould spores in shower cubicle.
- Bushy471975 (10/5): Great staff - Brilliant hotel. Great staff. Andy is a great asset to this hotel. He happy to help probably more than he should. Rooms were comfy and clean
- Tysha (10/5): - Had
- TheCityBreakers (8/5): Great for the old town and station - This hotel is very convenient for Waverley Station and the old town. It is within easy walking distance of Holyrood Palace, Princes Street, the national gallery and the castle.
The rooms are quite ingeniously designed and the bed was very comfortable, but it must be a bit cramped when there are two people in it. The only downsides were the soundproofing between the rooms which should have been better in a modern hotel and the carpet was stained.
The bar area was really nice and welcoming and the all you can eat continental breakfast was good value for £6. The staff were all helpful and friendly.
- 346louised (8/5): 3 nights stay - Good location, but the bed and pillows were not as good as other Premier inns znd we stay at them regularly all over the country. Room was clean and warm we didn't have breakfast because the Brewers Fayre next door was vile. Reception staff very friendly and accommodating.
- Joyce (8/5): - Many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Room was clean but very small and only provided the bare necessities.
- S2197BUdavidc (4/5): Scout your room out before arrival - Reception staff very friendly. First room had a missing latch on the dorma window that had been replaced with a cup hook. I presume the cup hook was for the broken blind to latch onto when you pulled it down at night!!! We brought it to receptions attention and were moved to room 29. Avoid at all costs. Right on top of entrance/exit 2 which is also labeled a fire exit. Clashing from early morning to late at night. We'd already unpacked and decided to sleep on it but we're woken by an insomniac with lead slippers pacing around. Reception told us there were no more rooms available and that they could see about moving us to another hotel. Can't fault the staff. They were just doing their job but looking on the reviews after our visit, the first room had been highlighted with the window and blind two weeks previously. I'm presuming Henny Lenry hasn't had the pleasure of staying here.
- Joyce (8/5): - Many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Room was very small and only provided the bare necessities.
- Anders Christian (8/5): - Ran out of toilet paper. Ask the reception to clean up and go over my room. They gave me clean towels (that I didn’t need), didn’t clean, and I had to pick up toilet paper in the reception.
- Y172GSbrandonr (10/5): Comfortable beds, friendly chats with receptionists and free breaksfast - Excellent receptionist staff, very welcoming and very friendly. I was initially nervous after seeing other reviews, but this place has been very good for my stay whilst I am on training.
- Kelley (10/5): - Nice hotel close to the train station. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. Be sure to schedule in advance if you want an early check in, I mistakenly thought you could just pay on the day to check in early and that wasn’t the case. But they do let you leave your luggage. The gin distillery is right across the street as well as one of the Islander UK workshops. I partook in both! And there’s a little chocolate shop around the corner. The room is small but cozy and I had a nice little view. The staff was friendly and checking out was just dropping your key card in a box!
Todella surullista
- F8355ZXstephenm (4/5): Sadly a poor experience - We had used this hotel on a previous occasion very satisfactorily. The location is very good and interesting. However, on this occasion - possibly due to the fact that the hotel was VERY busy over that weekend, it was not satisfactory. The level of cleanliness was below par. The food at breakfast was also below par.
As ever, the WiFi provided was dreadful! In this day and age that level of internet access is not acceptable.
- lei11 (6/5): Stay spoilt by parking charges. - Nice hotel but parking is a rip off. They say it’s £5 for 24 hours but we arrived 3pm Monday, left 10 am Wednesday and were charged £15. £5 for each day. You then get charged 20 p for the receipt for the parking.
Last time we came here parking was free.
- Andres (8/5): - Propere kamer op goede locatie vlakbij het station. Enige negatieve punt was dat sommige handdoeken naar sigaretten roken. Gelukkig kon je gemakkelijk nieuwe vragen aan de receptie.
- Ani (8/5): - Friendly staff, clean rooms and great location. Thank you.
- Kathy (10/5): - An easy walk from the Waverly train station. Walkable to all of the local sights to include the Edinburgh castle! 10/10 would stay again!
- Simondix49 (10/5): A good place to stay in Edinburgh - Excellent all round experience. Lovely walks by the waters edge. Good pub fare At Brewers Fayre, part of the complex. Discount available if you follow the QR code on the menu. The only downside is the requirement to pay £5 per day for parking, everything else was excellent
- Judy (8/5): - Fun, modern hotel room. Very close to train station and the Royal Mile.
- Gregory (10/5): - The staff were extremely friendly and helpful! The rooms are very small but that is to be expected in downtown areas at this price point. The breakfast was nice and the common areas were very comfortable. We enjoyed the selection of snacks and light meals available. Location was great; close to the train station, a block off the high street and walking distance to all the tourist locations.
- Heidi (10/5): - This hotel is perfect for a quick stay in Edinburgh. It is a short five minute walk from the train station and another short five minute walk to the Royal Mile. The rooms are not big, but the bed is super comfortable. It is well priced clean and the staff and other accommodations were perfect. You can also get the option for an included continental breakfast, which was delicious and very well priced. 10/10 would recommend and would stay here again.
- Adriana C (8/5): Not as happy this time - The room was certainly not up to the same standard we received a few days earlier when we stayed. The room had the neon chair that had a wet stain on it, so we couldn’t use it. Floor looked in vacuumed. Most importantly there is black mold bottom of the glass shower door. We were extremely busy this time out and couldn’t deal with it at the time.
- WDbxl (10/5): Delightful option for solo travel in central Edinburgh - As a first-time Hub user, I loved the concept of this hotel. The location was perfect for my work needs, just across from the council and U.K. government complex and around the corner from Holyrood.
The room is compact, but clean and comfortable. The mattress is especially great and the furnishings feel more “premium” than in other budget/pod concepts where I’ve stayed previously. The reception team was great, the early check in was readily available for a reasonable additional £15, and the cool aircon and big TV (with easy plugin for my fire stick) made it easy to relax in the evenings after work.
If you are not travelling solo, then the main room will be too tight for you and you should get the “big” one (which even then, be aware is quite compact!).
The breakfast is quite light - which I honestly prefer - and consists only of a croissant, pain au chocolates, yogurt with granola and berries, and coffee/juice. On the other hand, it’s cheap (£6)!
I could imagine a few details in the new-build hotel will need to be refreshed soon (my window shade was a bit deteriorated and the TV wouldn’t turn off without using the switch at the mains, for example) but as long as the operator keeps on top of this, the hotel should remain my go-to choice for business in Edinburgh.
- tandcpaine (4/5): Poor value - Very poor value for money: minimal tea facilities, confusing shower system (no instructions), over sensitive fire alarm (false alarm at midnight), room charge far too high.
All a pity, as we have found other PIs very good.
- Sebastian (8/5): - Coffee and tea for free.
Well located next to the royal mile.
- Kjetil (6/5): - God plassering av hotellet. Kun 10min gange fra togstasjonen. Noe trøblete innsjekking sent på kvelden med personalet som ikke fikk til å gi oss kortet til rommet. Måtte selv be om nøkkelkort dagen etterpå. Ganske smått, men praktisk rom.
- Margaret (8/5): - Very clean and modern with a great location. But rooms very small. Like a cruise ship. Parking garage was down the next street. 22 pounds a day.
No option for early check in but they do offer luggage storage .
- 79grantr (6/5): Comfortable stay but let down by same old internet issues - Comfortable stay, but even the premium WiFi was throttled to 2010 speeds. When are premier in going to address this problem and provide free high speed internet as standard like every other hotel chain in the world.
- Leah (6/5): - Room was very small, shower not very clean and a/c made awful noises all night. On arrival there were 2 pillows and one towel for two guests.
- jonteepierre (6/5): A roof over our heads - but wouldn't choose again. - This is a tired Premier Inn - less Premier and more second division. To compete against the EASY style Hotels it needs to up its game. £200 for the night was expensive. The car park, however, is large and good value at £5 and the breakfast and the neighbouring and associated Brewers Fayre was of the usual high quality. Having checked in online - both check in machines were out of order - so it had to be done manually. The "Exceptional" wifi cost extra but was unobtainable and only had one bar in our attic room - so we used our 4G phones instead and the velux window blind was held in place with a small cup hook as the mechanism had broken - while the sheets although washed were stained. Had it been £120 a night I would have shrugged and let these things go...
- Scenic792728 (10/5): Wedding anniversary 20 years - We came and stayed for 3 nights at Leith very nice, the staff were very friendly and helpful we were staying for our anniversary
- nimik2024 (6/5): Early check-in not early - We stayed at the Leith Waterfront Premier Inn with an early check-in option, however this was not honoured and we still await a refund. The Brewer's Fayre restaurant could do with an overhaul as we noted the carpet was full of the previous night's dinner/crumbs on the carpet and seats! In addition Premier Inn could do well from investing in a 'Henry' hoover as the carpet in the bedroom was very dusty and smelled musty!
However, the parking facility was good but we didn't have to pay for parking at this hotel before but did this time!
Location wise the hotel was perfect and the nearby harbour restaurant fish and chips were to die for! Yum!! :)
- Eldon (4/5): Will not book here again - This is an extremely small room, with access to the bed limited to one side only as the other 3 sides are jammed against the wall, and it is difficult to get up into the bed as it sits above storage drawers. The "living space" is a narrow aisle which is impassable if a drawer is open. The only place to open a suitcase is likewise on the narrow floor, or unhygienicly, on top of the bed. The mattress was not too uncomfortable, but was covered with only a single unfitted sheet not suitable for restless sleepers. I awoke several times laying directly on the uncovered mattress as the sheet had slipped out from under me -- gross. There is also a duvet provided, but no top sheet. Whomever sleeps next to the wall cannot easily exit the bed as their companion blocks the path. Also, the electrical outlets for phone chargers are inconveniently located causing the wall sleeper to become entangled in charging cables. Some of the outlets were also inoperable. The room felt stuffy and the air controls not effective. The carpet seemed sticky. At least the bathroom and shower were good, and towels were exchanged upon request at the front desk. Breakfast was adequate, and coffee and tea were available at all times.
- amy (6/5): -
It was adequate for one night. The room is teeny, tiny. We had to pay to check in early but they will let you leave your bags for free. The location is the only real reason to stay here. It’s near everything.
- Sydney (10/5): - Very comfortable bed. A bit off the normal busyness.
- Kyle (10/5): - Nice hotel. Easy to get to. No issues.
- Siegfried (4/5): - The breakfast had a limited selection, but what they did do they did well. The croissants were some of the lightest/flakiest I've ever had, and they made an excellent coffee for you, all unlimited, and all for 6 pounds, which can't be beat.
My negative review is due to our room, for which the temperature was hot and which could not be adjusted. There were electronic controls for requesting daily cleaning, which made no sense since the option was to NOT request a cleaning, but the default as posted was that you had to specifically request a cleaning. This was confusing, as you had to go to the desk to request a cleaning. Finally, there was little shelf and hook space to put stuff, and the desk was just a small fold-out from the wall. In short, high potential, but poorly executed for the room design.
- Fred (6/5): - Bed was too small, soft and saggy. Bathroom was adequate. Very good breakfast selection except no eggs.
- Phillip S (10/5): Convenient and comfortable - Excellent stay; convenient location for Royal Mile shops, pubs, restaurants.
Excellent bed, great shower. Substantial breakfast. Great personnel. Thanks again.
- X4534QRleec (10/5): Great Premier Inn! Ideal location for my work - Stayed at this Premier Inn on a number of occasions and always had a great stay. The rooms are good, the Crown pub next door is excellent and there is ample parking and it’s free 👍.
- piotrpY3437EC (10/5): Great Service - Excellent room, comfortable and clean. Great bathroom facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Thank you so much to Andy in particular, always helpful and smiling
- T164HQsusanh (10/5): Excellent Service from Andy ! - Andy at front of house is brilliant, so helpful and friendly always goes the extra mile. A credit to the hotel chain. Nothing is too much trouble.
- Litsui (10/5): - The room are extremely small, bit its very convenient location and work for us just needing a bed to sleep at night. So we are happy about our stay in Edinburgh.
- Heather (10/5): A great place to stay! - Lovely accommodations in the heart of the old city. Convenient to explore the city and easy to access from trains. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Great breakfast. Definitely will book again.
- CEP134 (8/5): Standard hotel, great staff! - Stayed for 2 nights. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise and door banging on the first night, but the lovely reception staff arranged an alternate room with the minimum of fuss, and it was much quieter. There is road noise due to the proximity of the A1, and the hotel was generally very warm.
The food at the attached pub was adequate, but service here was incredibly slow, and don’t think about a nightcap, as they close at 10pm!
- Anita (10/5): - Very good value, clean room, friendly staff, good location.
- sarahmitch6 (10/5): Fantastic - Fantastic friendly staff. Very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Rooms clean and comfortable. We have stayed here on numerous occasions and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in St Neots 😊
- kierong350 (10/5): The best service - The hotel was lovely but the main thing that stood out to me was the friendly and efficient service from Hannah at reception.
Nothing was ever a problem and she had great knowledge about the area for me.
Would definitely stay here again.
- patricia (6/5): - Rooms were very very small
And it seemed as they didn’t want you to stay in the lobby
- Pratik (6/5): - Its convenient from Royal mile
- drewantonypiercey (4/5): Poor overall - Bed was uncomfortable, wifi was the worst I've used. Got premium and it's no better than the free version. Asked front desk and they just agreed it was bad but still charged me £5 per night.
- Heather (10/5): Wonderful st - Awesome location. Wonderful staff were very helpful. Bed was AMAZING. We slept so well. Conveniently located in the heart of the old town.
Recomendable 100%.
- Joe (6/5): Musty room with leaky AC unit - The room was small but nice. When we opened the room we were immediately in the face with a musty, swampy smell. The room was swampy to begin then the AC was turned on - this helped with the odor that took our breathe away each time we entered the room. Once on the AC unit dripped non-stop onto the carpet which is what I think caused the smell. We had to put the bathroom trash can with a towel under the Ac unit which was above the door. The can filled up over night but no one was at the desk when we would come and go due to the self check in kiosks. Minus this the room was ok, but we would probably not stay at this location again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Muy buena ubicación para visitar la ciudad de Edimburgo.
Habitación pequeña pero funcional y cómoda .
- mary (2/5): - This hotel was incredibly dingy and dirty. The room had piles of dust on everything, stains all over the carpet and chairs, and there was a small dried drop of blood on the comforter. I didn’t ask for a new one because clearly they are not cleaning things throughly. I slept with a hoodie on instead. Even the bathrooms in the lobby are disgusting. This might seem to be the cheapest option, but cheapest is not always best. The room was ok enough just to sleep in, as I was out all day everyday; however it was still gross. I should’ve spent the extra money somewhere else. The only redeeming qualities this hotel had was the coffee/tea bar, and most of the staff was pleasant.
