Guest Reviews
- NICOLA (2/5): Stay at your peril!! - Total shambles with checkin. I arrived for the allotted checkin wi Dow of 3/4pm to find no one there. I had not received any online communication wrt combination for key box and subsequently had to try to talk to TravelNest who were apparently the booking agent even though I booked through Hotels.Com. I had tried to touch base with the host previously but never got any reply. Travelnest finally got an answer and a cheery host called me without any apology the inconvenience. I couldn’t stay in the property in the end as my father in law had a fall when we arrived and ended up being hospitalised for duration of our stay and so we had to look after his wife at their home. Anyway when I communicated this to the host with a possibility of us staying the last day he only then informed me that towels and linen were extra!Really? He made a paltry effort to alleviate my annoyance by saying he’d upgrade us and even throw in the towels/linen- too little too late from my perspective!! Anyway I checked and there was definitely no mention of “extra charge “ on Hotels.com. Travelnest washed their hands of the matter and said it was clear on “their” site that these items were NOT included, despite me continually stating I booked on Hotels.Com! So a very shabby and amateurish site. At least Hotels. Com apologised for the confusion and offered £25 credit- nothing from TravelNest of course!
- Ian (2/5): - Plus sides: next to the Donkey Sanctuary and the ability to cook for yourself.
Now for the downsides. Where to begin?
*Couldn't get into contact with the owner for check-in, arrival times, code to the key box or anything. Only after contacting Travelnest (the third company in charge of advertising the property) by phone on the day of check-in, I got a very short email from the owner about the check-in time (an hour later than advertised) and code for the key box. No apologies, not even his/her name.
*After arriving at the park we had to search for #27. No map. No instructions in the instructions email. Finally after driving around for 15 minutes we found the “chalet”. Who in their right mind dares to call it that. It’s the middle apartment of three. Next to one looked like it could be used as a drug house.
*Upon entering the apartment there were cobwebs everywhere and there was a very bad marijuana smell. The windows were left open. Guessing to try and air it out.
*No sea in sight while it is listed as an ocean view!
*Cutlery wasn't enough for four persons.
*During the night, the flood light of the neighbors will shine in the bedroom, keeping you awake.
*The smoke detectors were removed. The old location still visible on the ceiling
*The shower had a hole in the floor resulting in water not draining properly and seeping underneath the floor (visible by just walking on the floor and water appearing through the seems).
So all in all, would NOT recommend!
