- WEN-CHENG (10/5): - NICE AND COMFORTABLE
- Timothy (10/5): 2 day dales bike tour - Great location lovely views, well appointed room.
Food was very good along with the service and amazing beers on tap.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Two nights at Black Swan Inn - Hotels.com advertises that this hotel has air conditioning - it does not. However, the staff are very helpful and it was a pleasant if somewhat warm stay.
- Gillian (10/5): - Fabulous recent 2 nights stay at the Black Swan Inn . Food was excellent and the staff were friendly and very efficient . Our room was a lovely large space and a very big king sized bed which was extremely comfortable . We will definitely return .
- Mark (6/5): Expected better. - Water thin walls, could hear tv in next room and all conversation. There is also caravan park here.
- Michael (8/5): - I would stay there again
- ANDY (6/5): - dated
- Roger (10/5): - The country setting and the veiws out the back from the çomfortable garden are outstanding.
- Dave (10/5): Very helpful after my booking error - I booked the wednesday to thursday but unfortunately the wrong week, after i explained the staff were exemplary and agreed to change my booking at the last minute. The room was clean warm and tidy and the food was really good. No complaints at all and will stay again.
- Daniel (10/5): Great place to stay - Great pub in a lovely location with fantastic views from the garden. The rooms were very large, as were the beds (which were really comfy). The room had everything you’d need. The staff were great and friendly, and helped out getting a taxi. The food at the pub is great, and the beer is kept exceptionally well. A great place to stay and only a 2 mile walk into Masham. The owners old WW2 vehicles in the car park are very interesting too.
- Terry (2/5): Hotel was a construction site with no access prior - Arrive a little before 3.00pm , 2.15pm, no parking in front due to Construction activity. No access into building prior to 3.00pm -door locked and sign hanging on door saying "Gone to Pub" . Place was a building site and about 15miles from Ripon !!
- James (10/5): - Modern rooms, with a lovely country pub with great home cooked food... Would definitely stay again
- Kirsteen (10/5): Definitely be back again!! - Stayed one night in the luxury room. It was a lovely room and the the jetted bath was amazing! Plenty of tea, coffee and milk. Staff were lovely, friendly and polite. We'll be back again for sure.
- Verified traveler (8/5): excellent value for money - double superior room was very spacious, very clean, with a lovely modern bathroom.
- Denise (8/5): Excellent location for visits out and a great walk - Great stay lovely welcome, comfy bed and excellent breakfast.Considering they had had a fire in the kitchen and were serving breakfast from a mobile kitchen it was piping jot when it arrived - well done to carry on the service
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good - Difficult to find even with a sat nav system. Otherwise very good.. Food excellent.
- Mark (10/5): Great hotel, fabulous location - We stayed for just one night in the Luxury Double with Jacuzzi Bathroom. The room was very big and comfortable. The Jacuzzi bath was a bit snug. The food was very good and the breakfast was excellent. Be warned that the "internet price" doesn't include breakfast. The views from the room were stunning, if you ignored the small caravan site. Some of the reviews I have seen have said that the caravan site, which is part of the hotel, was noisy. We were there mid week out of school holidays, so hardly noticed it.
- Paul (6/5): Not bad value - All in all ok, a bit tired but reasonable value for money.
- Mandy (8/5): Great room! - One night stay on business. Easy to find even though it is a rural location - well signposted. Pleasant staff and friendly locals. As a lone female traveller I felt perfectly safe at this hotel. Would definitely stay again.
- raymond (8/5): Comfortable stay - Stayed one night, a bit noisy in the bar with all the kids from the caravan site
- Jamie (8/5): Masham Visit - Room was really nice, location was about 2 miles from Masham so we got a Taxi back on the night, only £7. Nice location for walking and visiting the countryside. Did not eat in the pub but called in for a pint which was ok.
- Nick (10/5): Great little hotel with quality food - Nice stay, got a last minute deal for a great price. Clean room which seemed to be part of a new build, well finished with great amenities. Food in the Black Swan is very good and there are some great walks around the area - with details available on the hotels website
- mrs. mahen (10/5): Room with a view - Really lovely room with a great view. So nice my husband and I were very happy not to leave the room.
- Becky (10/5): Fab Stay - Me and my fiance came here for one night and had a lovely time. The room was great. Nice and cosy, clean and comfortable. People were very pleasant. Food in pub was great. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would recommend.
- Mick & Georgina (10/5): Excellent hotel & restaurant, highly recommended - Following a nice warm welcome when we arrived, including a couple of pints of Black Sheep, we were shown to our room (room 5) and I have to say that we were very impressed with the size of the room, the size of the bed, the excellent decor and extremely nice en-suite. We put the footy on the large flat screen TV (FA Cup Man Utd v West Ham) and chilled for a couple hours with a bottle of Lanson. Then it was time for our evening meal in the intimate restaurant. Crayfish tails as a starter for me and pate for my wife. Followed by Zebra steak and chips for me (very nice) and steak n ale pie for the wife. All washed down with an excellent bottle of Australian Black Shiraz. To finish I had cheese and biscuits (massive portions) and an ice cream / chocolate tart for the wife. Time for bed after an Irish coffee and a single malt. After a great nights sleep, we finished our stay next morning with a very good Full English breakfast, served with cold orange juice and fresh coffee.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay at this hotel, we will definitely be back and I have already started telling friends and family how good it was.
- Helen (10/5): Great location for a romantic weekend - The Black Swan is located in a beautiful Yorkshire village and due to the elevated position has an amazing view of the surrounding countryside. We stayed in room 1 which was very tastefully furnished, with a huge comfortable bed and a window with views over the surrounding countryside.
We ate in the restaurant on the evening (make sure you book in advance) - the food was superb and the service excellent. Overall an great experience, would highly recommend the Black Swan for a short break -we will definitely make a return visit.
- linda (8/5): idilic country location - Overall a good hotel. only downside booked a superior room and after reading all the reviews about the views from the rooms we were given room 11 which i didnt think was a superior room and it was also down stairs bekow the bottom floor with a veiw of the back of the building where the other rooms were situated. this meant that every time we were in our room we needed to have the light on. The food in the hotel waz good.
- mel (10/5): black swan - it was just like the description we had a wonderful time the room was spacious with lovely views, food was excellent and service good, would go back for a repeat visit
