Guest Reviews
- Mayra (10/5): - I only stayed one night, I reserved the full size bed studio. it was small, quiet, clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Traveling alone I would stay there again. didn’t get to spend any time around the area but plenty of places right outside to walk to, nice neighborhood
- Robert Steven (10/5): - It was really quiet and just what we needed. The bed was very comfortable
- Dalton (10/5): - Easy and very convenient. Book your parking ahead!!!
- Elizabeth (8/5): tiny room - Great location. Very very small paid for the patio but was really small as well
- Marquis (8/5): - Clean room. Staff didn’t clean the room or deliver clean towels. Had to ask.
- Christin (6/5): - Not luxury, but didn’t expect it. The room itself was clean and bug free.
- Lyric Janelle (8/5): - It’s in downtown SD, so it will always have it’s negatives but it was a great place to crash and the room was super cute!
- Jessie (6/5): San Diego hotel reviews - Great location next to little Italy, but they were in the process of remodeling. So had construction issues., and some airplane issues since close to the airport .
But the price was good . So if you want a better location , you will pay more .
- Christopher (8/5): - Charming little hotel located in the heart of Little Italy San Diego. Within walking distance to a lot of dining options and tourist attractions in the area. Hotel room itself was kind of small but had all the necessities. Would definitely choose to stay here again.
- Erik (6/5): - The power shut off twice and the carbon monoxide detector went off twice at 2am. Was a bit annoying.
- Kelsey (8/5): - I loved how nice everyone was at and around this property. It was right in the heart of little Italy-only a block away from live music and great food. Again everyone at the property was very nice as well. The room itself was nice, but a bit small. There was no microwave or dresser but decent size fridge and a stand to place your carry on luggage on to grab clothes out of throughout the stay. The building itself seemed pretty old, but you can tell they are trying to add upgrades. It was great stay for a 4 day/3 night trip.
- Eréndira Araceli (10/5): - I would visit it again.
- Dylan (10/5): - Nothing fancy and very small but clean and easy. Location can’t be beat
- leydi (6/5): - Little Italy is located in a great area with many nearby restaurants. The staff was very welcoming, and our room was clean. We were also able to check in a little early, which we really appreciated. The only downside was that on our second night, the power went out five times in less than five minutes.
- Travis (6/5): - Pros: Great location with a short walk to almost everything in San Diego. FYI the place is called the Vantaggio as Expedia has it listed as the Little Italy Inn. Cons: the bathroom appeared to have water damage and there wasn't a fan.
- Charles (10/5): - Good
- Meredith (6/5): - This “stand apart” hotel is more of a boarding house that rents out some rooms on the first floor. It had a lot of residents and people coming and going. If you are aware of your surrounding you are likely fine but not a place for your average tourist. Budget for sure. Black mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom.
- Alex (2/5): - When I arrived, I noticed that the small fridge had been leaking all day. The floor was wet, and there was a strong, unpleasant smell coming from the fridge.
- Tracy (8/5): - Great little gem! I would absolutely stay here again. Rooms are basic but it’s right in the heart of Little Italy with lots to do and explore. It’s also a central location which makes exploration to the rest of the city easy.
- Mayra (10/5): - Love that it was super clean. Would definitely book again.
- Bryant (8/5): - It’s walking distance to little Italy events.
- Ernesto (6/5): - The place was okay, once I walked inside I get a smell mugginess of inside that hotel like the essential AC wasn’t really working my room was pretty small wish there were Vince in there
- Heather (8/5): - The room was just what I needed for my stay. The pictures of the view and balcony are very deceiving because all of the rooms you can stay in like a hotel are on the first floor, I never opened my curtains because my view was the next building about 8 feet away. However, the bed was comfortable and the water got hot immediately and had a nice shower, so that’s really what mattered to me on this trip. All the front desk staff were helpful and accommodating. For the price and location, this place was great. All-in-all, would stay here again with the knowledge of not having that view or balcony.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cleanest restrooms - It was perfect for what we needed! Staff were friend and room was very clean!
- John (10/5): - It was very nice and convenient
- Robert (6/5): - Everything was good except when we went to sleep we could hear doors slamming and people talking all night
- Judith (2/5): - The people who hung out around different areas of this hotel varied in age, ethnicity, background. However, people were allowed to gather anywhere which made me feel unsafe. The good old boys hung out in the soda machine alcove in the front space drinking beer and smoking. I had to walk past them every time I left the building. Not safe. Not appropriate. Yes. I paid for this.
I booked this hotel because I was going to a wedding nearby. Looking pretty was one of my goals. But every time I plugged in a beauty appliance like a blow dryer, the fuse blew. I couldn't blow dry my hair or steam my clothes during the trip.
I woke up in the morning to the odor of raw sewage. It reminded me of the NJ Turnpike. Where was it coming from? Why in the morning? Maybe it was from all of the garbage cans that were stacked up in the alley RIGHT OUTSIDE MY WINDOW.
Sleeping was a challenge because of the disturbingly loud noises that came from the portable air conditioner. Noises not to be rivaled, however, by the random bangs, booms, screeks coming from who knows where. At least 4 times daily I thought I heard someone knocking on my door. Thank god the air conditioner drowned out the other 5th and 6th times.
This place seriously gave me the creeps. Don't stay here. In fact, run. Really fast.
- Paul (8/5): - Loved being able to be right in the city, close to some really nice cafes and culture. The room was great and the only real issue I have was with the parking situation, which got resolved day 2. The parking offered was kinda tough to access until the second day but the time at the hotel was great.
Got to unwind and relax a bit. Thank you for the experience, it was cool to be able to see San Diego from here.
- matt (8/5): Nice little place - Small but nice place right in the heart of little Italy.
- Vanessa (6/5): - It wasn’t shared on any of the bookings that it was an Apartment & hotel building which felt weird to me. The parking was really hard even though we had an assigned space, the garage was really small & hard to navigate.
- Lizbeth (10/5): - The property was at a great location. Lots of restaurants around, walkable. We even got to go to the farmers market on saturday. Which was a couple houses down the street.
- Maksim I (10/5): - Great time
- Frank James (8/5): -
This property is extremely small. I’m talking about the rooms. They are one of the cheapest options in San Diego. They’re clean the people that work. There are very nice and there is a kitchen that anybody could use downstairs. It’s actually quite convenient. It’s just not close to anything like Grocery stores or dining other than Italian food. If you do go here, just bring food with you.
- David (4/5): - Rooms are on the small size. Facilities are limited and dated. Not good value for money
- Pamela (8/5): - Great location in the heart of Little Italy. Walkable to restaurants, cafes and the waterfront. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
- Rogelio (6/5): Cumplidor - Práctico y bien ubicado. Un poco descuidado.
- juan (6/5): No ac - No ac is a portable ac not very cold
Just outdated for price
- Alicia (8/5): Convenient location - The location is great, right in the heart of little Italy, and walking distance to a lot of places. The room itself was clean, but quite small. The air conditioner really struggled to keep up, and the power went off and back on at least 5x while we were in the room over a 2 night stay.
- William (6/5): - As I understand it, this apartment property decided to turn the first floor into hotel rooms a few months ago so they are still working things out. It's in a great location and the front desk staff are helpful, but:
1. There's no property signage at all so you're not sure you're at the right place.
2. Same with the paid parking: signage please!
3. The rooms are super tiny with no place to unpack.
4. Needs more towels.
5. They need to clean the room or at least offer to.
- Crystal (10/5): - This was the first time staying in Little Italy and I enjoyed the experience. The place, including the kitchen was spotless. I enjoyed being able to cook my own meals 😁
- Chad (10/5): - It was great
- Clarisse (10/5): - The staff was incredible. The place is very well located - a nice walk to the Convention Center [25min] and close to the shoreline [5min]. Clean and at a reasonable price. The only missing items in the room are a microwave oven and a small desk with a chair.
- Maziar (10/5): - Hotel was clean and well located and very reasonably priced for the room. Parking was a little expensive but overall very happy with our stay at this hotel considering most other hotels in downtown San Diego are significantly more expensive.
We would stay here again.
- Shai (10/5): - Terrific place- I was a little hesitant to book because there were no reviews but very glad I did!
