Guest Reviews
- Rob (10/5): - The room was exactly what we needed. It was clean, affordable and close to the incline. Elizabeth was a great host.
- Ashley (10/5): - Room was very clean and spacious. Staff was friendly. Their was air conditioning and heat in the room. The fridge was bigger than I expected and their was a microwave. As well as a dining room table.
- mikayla (10/5): - The staff was incredibly helpful and sweet!
- Belinda (10/5): - I felt good the moment I walked in! Staff very friendly!
- Michelle (10/5): Manitou charm and beauty - The new management has lifted this hotel, in the best location in Manitou Springs, to another level. It is just perfectly simple and clean, with Uber friendly staff. Plenty of parking and the view is magnificent. Right on the bus lines and close to EVERYTHING!
- Robbi (8/5): - Large room, Clean. The security of the door to the room was in question as you could see from the hall into the room with the door closed but it did lock with a deadbolt. No extra locks for once you are in the room to keep others out like all other hotels. It is evident that there has been recent improvements to this property.
- Christy (6/5): - This is an older property that needs updates. It was perfect for what we needed after 2 days of camping—a dry bed and a shower! Beds and Staff was very nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Phenomenal staff, terrible room - The staff was awesome so I’m sorry to leave a poor rating as it’s not a reflection of them. The volume button was busted on the tv, there was mold in the bathroom, you could literally see outside through the gap next to the AC unit (which was obnoxiously loud, like a seat over the engine of an airplane), there was exposed copper wire on the light fixture, everything was plugged into a surge strip presenting a fire hazard, cold tile floors throughout, the pillows were about an inch thick and they had no extras, and the 2 beds in the room were completely different. One was a pillow top memory foam mattress while the other one was a 4-inch thick crappy spring mattress that barely sufficed for a crib mattress. The bed rolled when you moved and squeaked if you so much as lifted a finger, keeping us up all night. Our backs are in serious pain. Yes the room was cheap, but it needs some serious TLC. Again, the staff was super nice, the room though was pretty terrible.
- Nicholas (6/5): - I booked a room at The Ridge Hotel last minute since I had a sunrise photoshoot at Garden of the Gods the next morning. The price was fair for a quick stay, and I knew I wasn’t booking a 5-star property.
When I arrived, I was greeted by Elizabeth at the front desk, who was incredibly kind and helpful. She answered my questions about where to grab a quick bite and even looked up some info on Garden of the Gods for me. Her friendliness and welcoming attitude were the highlight of my stay.
That said, the cleanliness of the room left something to be desired. There were crumbs left on the small table, black hairs on the sheets and in the shower (I’m bald, so I know they weren’t mine), and a few dead bugs on the window sill. Nothing major, but noticeable enough to make me wish the room had been cleaned more thoroughly.
Overall, the stay was fine for the price and convenient for my trip. With a little more attention to cleanliness, this could have been a much better experience.
- Jeff (10/5): - Good
- Kevin (4/5): 2 star is a stretch - Good location right in Manitou Springs, but def get what you pay for.
- Kassandra (10/5): - This hotel has everything we need with things to do nearby and a very friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again.
- Brian (8/5): Needs a lot of help - The hotel was very humid and had a weird smell. Just seemed like the hotel was just put together with used peices from other hotels. No services like ice or even cups in the room. Plugs in inaccessible locations. Not worth what i paided for.
- KACI (6/5): - Hotel staff was super friendly and did their best to be accommodating! That said, the hotel it stuff wasn't super clean, it wasn't swept very well. The whole building smelled of smoke. The beds weren't very comfortable and the pillows were barely a pillow, basically as thing as the sheets. The air unit in the room was also very dirty.
- Jeff (8/5): The Ridge - Staff was amazing. Room was clean and functional. The view from my widow was another building and its roof which had wasps building a nest there so I couldn't have my window open, but that's not this hotel's fault. Beds and pillows were a little harder/more firm than I'm used to, so that's the only reason I scored "comfort" as 4 instead of 5.
- Rebekah (10/5): - Like
- Rebekah (10/5): - Good
- Robert (8/5): Has Potential - This place has potential. I understand they are under new management but the reason I decided to stay here was the swimming pool and price. Here is what I encountered.
They had a pool but apparently the pump went out. I would have understood this but why advertise a pool and not have a working pool? Very misleading and disappointing.
After I checked in, I asked where to find the ice machine. Well due to renovations, there is no ice machine. I can go buy my own.
The room I stayed in was newly renovated but the curtain didn't close all the way to the bottom and there were 2 flood lights across the parking lot shining into my room.
The bathroom was small and the toilet was wobbly.
I may give this place another shot in about a year in hopes they are done renovating. I know I had other choices but I booked this earlier in the day and it was clear there would be no refund for canceling. I still think the false advertising that they had a non-working pool is very deceiving.
- Deborah (2/5): The Ridge Hotel. Never again - No Kleenex, Tv half worked, office did not open til 9, beds were hard and metal sticking out. No coffee pots or any way to get coffee . Coke machine broke. Price to high for what we received.
- Kathy (6/5): - The front desk people are very friendly and helpful. The hotel needs some renovation. It located at a noisy street but it's near to all attractions.
- Jennifer (6/5): - Great location in Manitou for ease of walking around and shopping. If all you need is a place to sleep, this is a decent stay. The bed was clean and comfortable, and overall it was quiet. The bathroom had also been cleaned, but most of the other surfaces hadn’t been wiped down in awhile. Very dusty and grimey and fridge and microwave were not clean. No coffee maker in room. Bedding was very thin and there were no extra blankets. Most of the lamps and outlets did not work. With some repairs and a deep cleaning, this could be a much better place to stay.
- Bruce (8/5): - Basic room at great price
- Kyle (6/5): - The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The property is under new management and currently undergoing renovations, as it appears the previous management allowed it to fall into disrepair. While the exterior may not impress at first glance, the rooms are clean and comparable to a standard Motel 6. The location is excellent—quiet in the evenings with no outside noise—and conveniently close to restaurants and local attractions. Renovations are ongoing, and once complete, this could become a charming spot in Manitou Springs.
- Generva (4/5): - Price was excellent but too good to be true - very low quality. Air conditioner had been set at 50. We turned it off immediately. Room was freezing aii night. This August 3. So no blankets. We wrapped up in our clothes. Bedding was clean but dingy and so wrinkled. Immenities were almost non existant. No plastic cups or glassed. No one on duty or on site after 11 pm. The come back at 10 am. Bed was delapidated felt like boards underneath. Sink and toliet clean. Tub had a slimmy yellow sticky scum. I requested a 1st floor room. Got it but it was 4 steps down, I walk with a cane. So difficult for me. Steps
- Kristen (10/5): - Breakfast. Even if it’s small things. Fruit, breakfast bars, doughnuts from local vendors.
- Vincent (10/5): - Place had a nice view.
- Scott (8/5): - I would suggest putting in towel hooks. Having coffee pot in room.
- Jenay (2/5): Just plain dirty - Room filthy, looked like they just made the bed and forgot to clean it. Shower drain stuffed with hair. Urine stains on the mattress with just a sheet over it (didn’t even look like they attempted to clean it)
- Ethan (8/5): Perfect staff, less than perfect property - Amazingly friendly staff. Very accommodating. This property does have new management so things are hopefully going to improve.
The property itself was meh... not very homey or comfortable. The rooms felt cold and un-inviting. No blackout shades. Light from the hallway can be seen from under the door. Some rooms dont have a heater. Half of the rooms windows look out to a very unappealing and trashed out walkway between the neighboring property.
- Alejandro (8/5): - It was nice the hotel.
our room was spacious
their is a park near were you can play with the childrens, is you have.
- Guillermo (4/5): - A place not so clean, old a not good maintenance, there is no reception early morning not even nights. You can hear everything from the main hall and also the upper rooms didn't like it at all
- Kevin (4/5): - The A/C in the room we were given did not work. We had to change rooms. The staff was very helpful.
- Amber (4/5): - TV cabinet was broken which was unsafe for my daughter, tv didn't work, water pressure was bad, no hot water. the bed was comfortable, that was the only decent thing about our stay. we were supposed to stay 2 nights, but we ended up booking a different hotel for our 2nd night
- Tammy (8/5): Staff made the difference - This is a budget friendly motel under new ownership and improvements are being made. While the property needs work, the motel staff were friendly and accommodating.
- Eudelia (8/5): - For the price and a quick overnight it was perfectly fine
- Michael (4/5): - Property was easily accessible and conveniently located to desired location. Room was clean and bed slept well. Window unit a/c worked fine kept room temperature comfortable.
Poor lighting in room. Electrical outlets working but very loose.
Pool and hot tub not working looked like for a long period time. Lobby area very small and closed 11pm until 9am.
Friendly staff just seemed to be overwhelmed trying to keep up
- Steven (4/5): - I didn't like the overall experience. Busted soda machine, pool was closed. No secondary lock on the room door. Tiny bathroom. A total 0 out 5.
- Amanda (10/5): - The man who checked me in his name was Nick. He was very polite and so accommodating. I was traveling with my Grandmother and he made sure to get us a room she could easily get to. The hotel had changed hands so not everything has been added yet such as a hair dryer and such but Nick tried his best to find me one. The Roku TV is a nice touch but a bit hard for older people to use. Something to keep in mind. I really enjoyed my stay. It's got some details to iron out but I am certain they will be top notch. Keep up the good work!!
- Chris (2/5): Never again - Staff was fine. Room was missing a night stand and a chair. The walls has holes everywhere and not even a phone.
- Andrew (10/5): - The staff at this place were expceptional. Its evident they take pride in their jobs.
- Jennifer (2/5): - Nothing I booked was available. The room listed as Deluxe King Mountain View was in a damp basement overlooking a parking lot. When asked about this issue I was told that they had sold out on the higher floors, so either they gave away my room I had booked months in advance or they booked something they didn’t have and charged a higher rate. Property pictures are also old and no longer accurate. One amenity listed was a grill on site, this grill does not exist and they had no explanation. Also if you like to sleep with a blanket instead of just a top sheet, you may be out of luck again. We ended up having to go to Walmart to buy a blanket because they didn’t have anything available. The hotel is cheap but they’re trying to advertise things they don’t have then get upset when you call them out for false advertising. When I tried talking to the front desk they offered me a cheaper rate if I cancelled with Expedia and rebooked with them. Overall a very shady experience.
- Vickie (6/5): No what - It was a very nice very clean room! My disappointment was they did not offer any ice machines no laundry facilities and I thought I would get to go swimming.
- Michael (6/5): - Booked on Expedia. Paid a fee. Had to pay another upon arrival, almost as much to originally book through this site. Property is undergoing new ownership and remodel. Overall, would stay somewhere else next time.
- Robbie (6/5): - AC unit taped in,pellows flat
- John (4/5): - Under new management and they should not take peoples money until they at least have an ice machine and cups in the rooms.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Stay somewhere else - Pools not open, no breakfast, no coffee maker in your room, stains on the towels and bed covers, the bed feels like a giant piece of styrofoam, even heavily discounted I don’t think this place would be worth it
- ursula (4/5): - Staff was nice and room clean but wall outlets need replacement as they are stripped. Guest in other rooms had tv on so loud we couldn't sleep. Outside our window they were pulling weeds, etc at 7:30pm. Getting to parking lot was a nightmare due to construction on street. No ice and soda vending machine out of order. Overall, will never go back.
- Elena (6/5): - The Ridge Hotel certainly needs some attention. It's fairly run down, dingy and slightly smelly. My room certainly did not look like the room advertised in the photos. But the bed was decent and there was a microwave and mini fridge as advertised. The air conditioning unit is incredibly loud but I can deal with loud noises and it blocked out all other sounds from the hotel. I guess the room does match the cheap price, but I'm not sure I would stay here again. The pool was closed but would not be a pleasant spot to hang out at anyway.
- Mark (2/5): - The pool was closed and under repair which was not communicated at the time of the reservation. The “Premier Suite” did not have a couch like the picture showed. We left and did not stay there because of the condition of the property
- Randell (8/5): - Great location! Property was under new management and undergoing renovations but everyone worked hard to make sure everything was great. Much appreciated!
- KARY (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and receptive to our comments and concerns
- Jonathan (8/5): - I loved the hotel and next to manitou. Like a block away. Front desk was really nice. The only thing was that the hot water was not that hot. Besides that it was a good bed and location. I would stay again
- IRMA RUTH (8/5): - Es cómodo el hotel. Nos gustó mucho
- Sarah (2/5): Horrible - No breakfast, the place stunk on arrival room was different then one booked online. The area and place was so bad we didnt even stay. We decided not to evem bother with a refund or anything. Just got back in the car and left. Not even worth the 100 we paid.
