Guest Reviews
- Charmaine (10/5): - Well, I don't care for "healthy" breakfasts - but for those who do - they would probably say, great!
While I loved the bacon, sausages and eggs 😁
- jason (10/5): - Greta location greta hotel . Will be going there again
- David (10/5): - A couple of very small points to make our stay perfect.
1. There needs to be a shelf or a place in the shower cubicle to put the shower gels etc.
2. There was lovely hot water in the handbasin but not in the shower. The mixer in the shower needs attention.
3. The room safe is pretty useless on the floor in the cupboard. It needs to be at least waistline height with clear operation instructions.
- eddie (8/5): Good value basic hotel - Simply furnished and decorated, but clean and specious room. Refurbished bathroom and shower area with sample cosmetics adding a nice touch. Room 206 near to building site, so awakened earlier than anticipated. Last minute booking so no choices. Fabulous staff and breakfast. With eggs cooked to order. Spotlessly clean.
- Nick (10/5): - Room was clean and tidy, staff were all very friendly. A special mention to Vinus who went above and beyond everyday. No problems at all when we needed to extend our stay when the ferry was cancelled.
- Gary (4/5): - On arrival, we were given the keys for our room, on entering the bed had been slept in, the towels were on the floor , bathroom was a mess , rubish bins full, refreshments half drank , bath panelling blown and water logged , room smelt musty. We obviously went to reception to complain and ask for another room but were told none others available.
We waited about 30 minutes in reception then told the room was ready , they said they were sorry and were saying something about the maid being pregnant!!
Outside our room were temporary traffic lights with a bleeper everytime someone wanted to cross over the road and to the side was a building site for a new hotel. I do have pictures but can't see anywhere to upload.
Not a good experience
- Falguni (2/5): - There was no WiFi for 3 days. And the hotel staff didn't fix it.
- Thomas (8/5): not again thank you - Very disturbed night - theres a weatherspoons pub at the back - and the noise from here kept me awake
- Kenneth (8/5): - Had a spacious bay windowed sea view room and comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent too.
Located very close to town centre.
- Ged (8/5): - A couple of minor faults(bathroom floor suffering from water damage & an empty sugar satchet placed in a hole in the wall, corridor carpets need replacing)
Overall very nice staff, good breakfast, located on sea front and short walk from ferry terminal & shops
- Scott (6/5): New hotel, OK for travelers, needs improvement - Opul Boutique is new and you can tell its been 'revamped' quickly and on a budget. Bedding etc is all clean and new but furniture is tired. In room equipment (TV, coffee machine etc) is all new. Wifi did not extend to the room effectively and kept dropped out and the table to work on was too small. The rooms are spacious an plain on the walls. Given the history of the building this seems like a missing opportunity. Additionally there are no curtains up so light comes in and will affect you if you are a light affected sleeper.
Breakfast was inconsistent as one day it was a buffet and the other day it was cooked to order. Other than that the selection and food was nice.
The 'cafe' may be open until 10pm but it does not serve food. This should be outlined on the booking (as it's not really a cafe with no food).
For walkers and personal travelers this does the job but for business travelers I would say there are better alternatives on the Island.
