Guest Reviews
- Daniel (8/5): - Everything was clean and in good repair. The only negative is that there was unfortunately someone in an adjacent room (I believe the room above us) playing loud music until about 4 a.m., which made it hard to sleep. I wish someone from the management staff had told them to turn it down.
- bryan scott (2/5): - stay away! this place smells so strongly of fabuloso cleaner it makes u wonder exactly what were they cleaning!! the room was uncomfortably arranged, long and narrow, so the bed is wedged in sideways with less than a foot of clearance. the bathroom sink is so small that water goes everywhere when u use it.
the noise from the hallway was so loud and constant that i had to use a white noise app and put my phone on the pillow beside my head.
don’t fall for the photos! this place should be a hard pass.
- Jason (2/5): - The staff was nice but the hotel was NOTHING like the pictures showed. There were burn holes in the sheets, the floor was dirty and slippery and there was vomit in the elevator and by our room. We ended up leaving and getting another hotel and got no refund. It was truly terrible!
- Sherlley (6/5): - The hotel seemed newly renovated but my room needed a deeper cleaning. The baseboards were dirty and the floor was sticky. The room also smelled like cigarette smoke and the windows don't open to air it out. The tenants aren't your usual vacationers but rather permanent residents or people who rent a room by the hour for who knows what (yes you can rent by the hour here). These tenants played loud music until 3 am and would start again at 6 am. I think the floors were sticky because management sprays febreeze to mask the cigarette and weed smells in the rooms. However, housekeeping would do better to spray the air freshener first and then clean the floors.
The neighborhood is okay. There's no shortage of shops and restaurants nearby. It's a lower income neighborhood but did not feel dangerous at all. You are a 5 minute walk from the nearest subway station which will take you to Manhattan in less than 25 minutes, so very convenient.
All in all, the room was aesthetically fine but needed better cleaning and management needs to really enforce the no smoking and no loud music between certain times policy.
- Monique (10/5): - Convenient. Close to restaurants and transportation. My only complaint is i was given room on the first fllor and the residents of the neighborhood hung out in front playing music.
- Kendelyn (6/5): - Can’t complain
- Jasmyne (2/5): - Very ghetto area, unsafe. This is a 304 spot. There’s hourly rates and the strange people coming in and out. Saw trucks parked outside with scandalous women, and men, seemed to be pimp situation waiting for on calls to meet in the hotel.
Staff was odd, didn’t greet when checked in, stood there for 5 mins until I acknowledged them.
Bathroom smelled bad, asked to move to another and it smelled like cigarettes strong so stayed in bad bathroom one and ran air vent 24/7 to help mask.
Hair all over “clean sheets”. Gave clean sheets so dusty when we went to put them on the air was filled with lint.
Don’t stay here. It wasn’t cheap either so we would’ve been better off paying a little more for normal accommodations. I don’t know how the reviews are as high as they are. We were constantly scared here.
Our cards stopped worked 4x and we had to get them fixed too. Constant issues.
- Savina (10/5): - Had a great experience. Cant beat the price. Everything was up to par. I would add another small bedside table on the other side of the bed though. Also a shower mat for the bathroom floor. Definitely gave apartment vibes.
- Kendelyn (8/5): - Convenient , spacious and accommodating
- Hitesh (2/5): - Hi Expedia
Please note that the invoice which they has provided us was for lesser amount than what we paid to Expedia.
Moreover they did not added the company name also.
We Paid to Expedia-
Aditya Sachdeva Room-$498
Satish Room- $510
Hitesh Room - $644.88
We received invoice for -
Aditya Sachdeva Room - $360.28
Satish room - $360.28
Hitesh room - $429.
Please note that this type is not correct. I can also provide the billing of this hotel.
- Suvd (2/5): - bad
- Tashea (10/5): - I always have a great stat
- Darius (10/5): - Great
- Josem (6/5): - The place is nice
- Verified traveler (4/5): Never again. - Floor was dirty , GNATS EVERYWHERE & I told them & they brought Lysol 😭, towels were dirty and to ask for new towels over and over. I could not get comfortable.
- Wakysha (2/5): - I give it one star because of Jennifer, who was extremely nice and tried her best to be accommodating. However, my partner and I made reservations for Saturday into Sunday on Expedia. We arrived very early Saturday morning around 3am, after coming from a party out in Queens. The Indian guy at the desk would not let us check-in, stating check in time was at 2pm. In order for us to check in even with our already PAID RESERVATIONS, he made us pay an extra $180 in cash. To top it off, the shower and floors were dirty. There were little flies all over the room and the couple next door was blasting music before 7am. Coupled along with them screaming and arguing. This place is more like a shelter.
- Ashley (2/5): - Terrible place to stay RUN!!!
- Vanessa (6/5): - The bathroom is very small. I could barely use the bathroom. I had to sit sideways in order to use the toilet the shower. I had to put half my body in the shower and have my body out the shower and switch to wash each half of my body, the floors were sticky. They were fruit flies and gnats and mosquitoes all over the room the room also reaked of cigarettes
- Wellington (10/5): Nice chill clean hotel - It was a great chill stay when i went no crazy noise but u can hear outside a bit but nothing that bothers the place is clean n the staff is chill i will be goin again
- Michelle (6/5): - The staff at as great and the room was efficient, but the building smelled like cigarette smoke and was often loud.
- Maria (10/5): - The young lady that checked me in was great and very helpful.
- Rosa (6/5): - The floor and room smells
- Saeed (2/5): - If you're an regular customer and have 2 rooms in your name and been resigning in the hotel for over a month and you need an curiosity late check out good luck..
- juan (2/5): - Muy sucio en la habitación, todo era un desastre, nada servía, me prometieron un sillón tántrico y no lo cumplieron
- Perlita (8/5): - It is conveniently located near many restaurants and shopping area
- Rosa I (2/5): - This property had holes in the bed sheets of cigarette burns, only one microwave oven working in the basement which was very scary down there, nosy neighbors all night, wasn’t able to sleep, the room smelled like cigarettes and the sheets, the people that’s was coming in and out of the hotel was not safe, I was scratched by a bed spring might need a tetanus shot, the worst experience ever, they rent rooms by the hour
- JUNIOR (10/5): - Hidden area, small room but clean
- Alexandra (6/5): - The staff was accomidating and even upgraded our room and dealt with the loud neighbors in the room next to us. The problem is the location and the loud customers. There was a mentally ill person yelling in the hallway and what seemed like a birthday party that went until 3am one night. We also noticed that they have hourly rates which we assumed was for hookups and other such activities. Wouldnt be horrible if the rooms were sound proof but you can hear EVERYTHING if you catch my drift. Definitely dont bring your family here.
- Nadir (4/5): - The bathroom door handle was loose and about to fall off. The handle in the bathroom sink came off when I turned the water on. There was a 12x12 panel missing in the bathroom ceiling showing pipes, and there were two blood stain fingerprints, one on the back of the shower curtain and one on the back of the bathroom door. I requested twice to speak with a manager, but he never showed up.
- Tony (8/5): - Stayed here for a couple of days—overall a solid experience, especially if you're traveling solo or as a couple. Probably not ideal for families. The area is a bit hectic but felt safe. There was a slight cigarette smell in the hallway. The room was spacious with a decent bed, TV, AC, and fridge. The bed was a bit stiff, and the blankets were rough with a small cigarette burn—okay for a short stay, but not great for longer visits. The bathroom was tiny but functional; I do wish they had provided more basics like toilet paper and shampoo. The walls are thin, so you can hear neighbors. Great location near the subway, restaurants, and shops. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Joseph (2/5): - Our room was very dirty, particularly. the bathroom and floors. I was uncomfortable the entire time I was there. I would not stay there again.
- Eddie (10/5): - Place is good to spend a few nights.
- Kevaughn (10/5): - Great stay , didn’t have a problem with anything,i enjoyed the place ,literally a gem
- Jitho (10/5): - Amazing
- Gardell (2/5): - Firstly, I’m aware this hotel was not going to be in a safe area. That’s not my problem. This actually would be a really nice property if not for the ignorant staff. For one, they claim this is a non smoking hotel, yet once I walk in, it smells like cigarettes and weed. This is because the staff of the hotel placed covers around both the smoke detectors and the water sprinkler which basically encourages smoking. So my room smelt like nothing but straight smoke, both cigarettes and weed. This is completely unprofessional from a hotel that claims to be nonsmoking or have non smoking rooms. I can tell you with my covered smoke detector and smoke smelling room, they do not care. The room itself is very nice, small, but very well decorative and attractive. It’s just the smell was absolutely awful. Another thing, the room had dirt everywhere, and was clearly not cleaned. People’s belongings from past stays were in cabinets, there was dirt and hair on the bed, table, bathroom, floor, sink, all had dirt or stains or both. There was also no pillow cases on our pillows, which also had hair and dirt on them. Back to the smell because it was just so bad, I had to go to the 99 cent store to get supplies to clean the room because it was just so dirty, and I also bought 2 whole cans of air freshener which I emptied completely, and even after that the smell was not much better. Overall, if you are a smoker, and don’t mind the smell, by all means you wouldn’t love it here, if not, don’t stay.
- Andrea (8/5): - This property was good, the early check in was very helpful!
- Mike (10/5): - Despite the location, the hotel is nice and the staff are extremely friendly.
- Mike (10/5): - the staff are extremely friendly, it can be a little noisy at times but it does get a little busy!
- Luz (8/5): - Good
- Murat (4/5): - Disappointing Stay – Not Suitable for Families
We spent five days at the Rose Hotel with my wife and our child and were unfortunately very disappointed by the conditions on site.
On the very first day, our stay was disturbed by extremely loud music coming from the neighboring room. While the staff was consistently friendly and helpful — and promptly offered us a different room on the same floor — the noise issue remained a problem.
The following evening, the situation escalated: several guests were partying loudly in the hallway, playing music at full volume and openly consuming drugs. The smell of cannabis was so strong that we could clearly smell it inside our room and felt as though we were passively inhaling it ourselves. The party started in the evening and continued until midnight, accompanied by constant door slamming and loud laughter.
It appears the hotel either lacks clear house rules or they are simply ignored by some (mainly local) guests. At times, the atmosphere felt more like a youth hostel filled with partying teenagers — and at certain moments even reminiscent of a brothel. This environment is definitely not suitable for families with small children looking for peace and a sense of safety.
Other concerns: the bed was extremely high — absolutely impractical for families with toddlers or small kids.
On a positive note, the hotel has been recently renovated and does not appear run-down. The staff did respond to our noise complaints and remained polite and
- Daurin (10/5): - Great location to stadium, dining, and shopping. Great place for overnight.
- Douglas (6/5): - One staff member at this property was friendly and helpful; encounters with other staff members were poor. They were aloof and indifferent. When asking staff if I could change the type of bed prior to check-in, I was simply told "go online." The requirement to rekey entry card every 12 hours and the sign that said that the hotel offers hourly rates did not make me feel comfortable. I found the arrival process to be strange, and I could not figure out how to enter the hotel as there was no prior communication about it. The room was much smaller than anticipated, as I could not walk between the bed and wall. The Rose Hotel will not be a choice of mine in the future.
- Jordan (2/5): - Terrible experience. Had to leave due to dirty room, unstable conditions. Safety issues due to homeless people wondering with clothing. Screaming through the night.
- Baris (2/5): Be Warned! - The hotel is not in the nicest location. It is not good for the night travellers. There are a lot of crimes in the neighborhood. The room is not clean and the hotel is surprisingly smooker friendly. Entire building smells weed and smoke. They even coverred the smoke detectors with bags. It was my bad not to do my homework but do your research before you book this hotel. My stay was for 2 nights and checked out early for the concerns above
- ?? (6/5): - 夜はかなり治安が悪い。日本人の観光客が一人で泊まるのは、おすすめできない。
- Rosa (10/5): - I really like the cleanliness that the hotel have
But the smell of marijuana is too much and the receptionist that first attended me was not too professional . The AC was also not working well but the room was not too hot so I did not say anything to no one. The cleanliness is very important for me so I think I will be back.
- Diana (2/5): - It smell of weed the hole time you opened the window it was trash pile up behind. The room Infested of ants they did not clean at all. You lift the sheets up when we got there and they were stained and hairs on it. Horrible would not recommend
- Wiam (10/5): - Great stay – highly recommended!
We were positively surprised by this hotel in the Bronx. The place was very clean and well-maintained, which really made us feel comfortable. The location was also great although it was occasionally a bit noisy, it wasn’t a big issue at all.
Don’t let any worries about the area stop you everyone we met was super friendly, and we always felt safe. There are also bus and subway stations nearby, and you can easily reach all major parts of the city with the 2 or 5 train.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with our stay and would definitely book this hotel again. Highly recommend it!
- Jorge (10/5): - I'll stay again
- Rosemarie (10/5): Great hotel - Always amazing stay at this hotel
Very welcoming and front desk is very friendly and accommodating
- Arq. Uriel (8/5): - Creo que por el precio no se puede pedir mas, cumple con lo suficiente para llegar a dormir
- MELFORD (4/5): - Liked that it was a new and spacious property. It was close to friends.
- gerardo (4/5): - Very noisy throughout the night. Person was knocking on another door at the property yelling at them telling them their time was up and needed to leave the room in the middle of the night. Second night our room smelled like cigarette smoke, like smoke got through the space under door. Shower head had very low pressure. Definitely for solo travelers on a budget and not families or couples.
- Darius (2/5): - Pricing is way to high for such horrible wifi.... They charge more then hotels with Jacuzzi suites and perfect wifi ... Also they don't do deals you can stay for however long and they still raise prices
- Darius (2/5): - I don't like the fact I been coming here for three months and every time the prices go up despite the flier amount
- Darius (2/5): - Pricing is very overrated
- darius (2/5): - Lots of stores just very over priced for area
- Louisa (6/5): - This hotel was not in a great neighborhood. It is not a good place to be walking around at night. The room key system did not work so the front desk had to let us in each time we arrived. The room was not very clean and the sheets had stains and cigarette burns in them. The mattress was very hard. People slammed doors and spoke loudly in the halls all night. Overall, not a good place to stay.
- Edward (8/5): - Clean, comfortable room. Efficient and courteous front desk staff. Quite noisy on my floor from people coming and going at all hours of the night. Also there is no carpet anywhere so sounds reverberate loudly. I'd stay again but will remember to bring earplugs next time.
- nithin (2/5): - I don’t recommend this motel for family’s and women. Rooms look average but, they have very bad service, and bad smell, looks like this motel is not for tourists. The area is also not safe for night time travelers
- Aleecia (8/5): - For our first time in NYC it was a good experience staying here. It felt like we had our own small apartment in a neighborhood that was.. normal (depending on what you call normal) The room was freshly cleaned but only lacked extra towels, wash rags & paper towels. Also, the front desk person kept asking if we had a room every time we returned. I think it’s because we were only there to sleep lol.
It was a great experience & we’ll definitely book again soon.
Thanks for hosting our weekend adventure!
- Elizabeth (4/5): - The other guests where always making a lot of noise, slapping doors at 2am, talking loudly, screaming and all those things. It felt more like a Motel. The staff was actually very nice.
- Omar (4/5): - No volvería todo el día huele a mariguana y no está muy seguro alrededor
- Rajeev (8/5): - There was no housekeeping for the duration of my 3-nights stay at the hotel.
- Jessica (4/5): - The room was unkept and had an odd odor. We did not stay in the hotel.
- Darius (10/5): - Clean
- Amir Hamzeh (2/5): - We stayed at first floor, and it was a lot of noises from outside. Also, the neighborhood does not seem safe, and was dirty.
- Muhammed (10/5): - Great
- jarien (2/5): - I don’t recommend and I will not be staying again could not sleep my first night had to make more than one nose complaint had to get my room moved and they still kept me on the same floor even though I asked to get my room moved to a different floor very noisy music playing nonstop in other rooms til pass 4am people screaming arguing nonstop walls are so thin you can hear everything even from rooms that are down the hall both rooms looks nothing like what’s online only reason I booked here in the first place my view was not pleasant only seen trash bags and a lot of big rats out my window car alarms kept going off I do blame the rats
- Wakysha (4/5): - This hotel is more like a shelter, with hourly room rates. The patrons were young adults, who were constantly screaming and arguing in the hallways, along with slamming the doors. My fiancé and I had a room with no shower curtains and the floors were filthy, and the blankets had burn holes in them. In my opinion, this might’ve been a previous shelter for the migrants and they’re still in the process of renovating it.
- Jiravadee (2/5): - This hotel was not what i expected it to be. The staff service was unprofessional. The room wasnt cleaned and prepared. And when it was "cleaned" it was still dirty and uncomfortable. The whole floor smelt like weed and was very noisy. It was extremely uncomfortable.
- Abdoulaye (8/5): - Good
- Miguel A (10/5): - El lugar es muy acogedor y bonito
- Trevor (8/5): - Decent hotel for the area it was in. I would stay again if had to. Staff was helpful
- Garrett (8/5): - It was alright
- Semoni (2/5): - Didn’t provide me with the reservation number to be able to check in.
- Michael (10/5): - Nice n big rooms
- Orlando (6/5): - Falicities
- Abdoulaye (8/5): - Good
- Justin (8/5): - Very nice staff , clean , close to shopping
- Tyana (2/5): - It smelled like smoke and I requested to switch rooms. The other room was no better. The hotel is def not for a comfortable stay. It’s for people who need a few hours to handle their business. I ended up leaving after 20 minutes because there was no way I was staying there overnight.
- Zaria (10/5): - Staff were very accommodating
- Shaynna (10/5): - Great stay !
