The room was beautiful bed comfortable and shower was blissful. We also had breakfast at the hotel and the food was great. We will definitely be back.

For an ultra modern hotel I was surprised that they still provide miniature bottles of toiletries instead of large fixed ones, not very eco friendly! Also no toilet brushes in the bathroom which can be useful as it would have been on this occasion. Otherwise lovely bathroom and room.

- C (10/5): Lovely little family night. - Stayed for 1 night. Only bad thing was they don't cater for families as in having a double and single bedrooms. We had to pay an extra £50 for a camp bed to be added to our room. We had to upgrade to a junior suite as a standard wasn't big enough. Having said that the room was beautiful, modern and very comfortable. The hotel had that new smell which was lovely. The carpets were plump, thick and lush. We ate in the restaurant and had breakfast and all food was very tasty, a little expensive but thats what you should expect for this hotel. We will be back. Overall great hotel.

Tones of natural light, with a fantastic view of the Millennium and Tyne Bridge. Pure comfort and luxury, if we didn’t have plans I would have chilled in the room more, that’s how nice the room was.

Reception staff were lovely and friendly, engaged in conversation asking about our day. Wished me a Happy Birthday and our room was ready early, so was able to check in a good couple of hours earlier. Room was nice and spacious, clean and we could monitor the air con. Our overall stay was amazing and would definately reccomend. We didnt go in tbe restaurant/bar or stayed for breakfast so cant comment on this.

Location right on the river and quayside short walk into city centre. The terrace for drinks was probably the area where we were expecting a little more but it was still fantastic. Drinks a little pricey but it was a special occasion so we didn't mind so much.

The staff were absolutely amazing, perfect combination of friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is convenietly situated on the Quayside, a short uber ride to everywhere we wanted to go. We dined in the restaurant on our 1st night, it was expesive even by London standards (£270 for 3 of us, 2 courses each) but the quality was excellence and the food was tasty. We would definitely use this hotel again.

The room was comfortable and cozy. Unfortunately, we did get a chance to dine at the hotel. We did however have a cocktail and snacks. They were perfectly made and delicious. I would recommend to anyone a stay at The Dakota.

Breakfast was excellent only thing i thought was missing was another juice as i cannot have orange and i dont like apple, otherwise I very good selection. Bar was very comfortable and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. The rooms are lovely, bathroom amazing. Towels changed daily along with coffee refills and bottled water. We also had a nespresso machine in room.

- George (4/5): - The hotel is a clean, modern option for those staying on the Quayside. Sadly, our room (223) was a huge letdown. It looked great at first, but at 3:30am I was woken by a loud noise like a toilet flushing, followed soon after by an even louder noise, like a jet wash! It only lasted a minute or two, but I was wide awake. Exactly one hour later at 4:30am it happened again, then again at 5:30. Clearly, some kind of automated system, so no sleep! The room was also incredibly stuffy, among the worst we’ve stayed in. With no fresh air (the windows don’t open at all) At checkout, I mentioned this when asked, hoping it would be helpful feedback. The smiling Scottish lady said it hadn’t been reported before (hard to believe) and promised compensation via email the same day—a discount or voucher for a future stay. Nothing arrived. I wasn’t looking for compensation, but offering and not delivering made it feel worse. The noise might be specific to 223, but the lack of ventilation likely affects every room, as it used to be an office building. Top tip: avoid room 223 (Junior Suite with a view). We won’t be returning to Dakota Newcastle—compensation or not.

- Colin (10/5): Excellent Stay at Dakota, Newcastle - We stayed at Dakota Newcastle while visiting the city for a show at The Glasshouse – a gift for my parents and a treat for us as well. This hotel easily ranks among the best we’ve experienced. Though relatively new, its stylish, modern design—with a moody yet welcoming atmosphere—exudes sophistication and comfort. We booked standard rooms (207 and 208), which were impeccably clean, comfortable, and furnished to a very high standard. Each room featured a large TV cleverly disguised as a mirror, offering a wide range of channels and streaming options. The bathrooms were equally impressive, complete with a luxurious rainfall shower and Molton Brown toiletries—a lovely touch. Even the addition of a night light in the bathroom was a great touch. Breakfast was excellent, with a generous selection of cereals, pastries, and cooked options to choose from. The service throughout our stay was outstanding, especially at check-in and during breakfast. The concierge, in particular, was a standout—and a real credit to the hotel. The professionalism and attention to detail from all staff were truly first-class and we will definitely visit again.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel but extra fees is just greed. - Loved the hotel, arrived at 2pm to be told room wasnt ready but if we wanted early check in we could pay £45, it seems like a sales pitch as we already paid £250 for 1 night without breakfast. Also told to park in St Annes carpark at £4 per night but when we got there it was £15 if you didnt park in their designated bays but they didnt tell us prior to check in where they were.
- Jade (10/5): Newcastle Stay - Amazing welcome. We travel to Newcastle frequently and thought the hotel was spotless. The staff were all so nice, hope the hotel does well is it’s quite new. Would 100% stay again!

- Kerrie (8/5): Stay at Dakota newcastle - We had a very enjoyable stay at the Dakota. We still in a classic room with a river view. Bed was very comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly & attentive. The porters were very friendly & helpful. Had some beautiful cocktails , would definitely stay again
- Sydney (4/5): - My room was meant for someone disabled yet the shower room controls were at least 6 feet from the shower when you are disabled and can not walk this is a long way. If say the shower becomes to hot you can not move to adjust the temperature. Ward robes to high when you are in a wheelchair had to keep most of my personal clothing etc on the floor because the hanging rail was to high. The bed although comfortable was to high. Lighting very dim could not see to do my dressing etc, The TV system was a night mare could not watch it for the first two days. One needed a degree in computer system before it could be operated. Why ho why was there no toilet brush provided? Could not find any fire instructions or room service a phone yes but no contact list for service. Such as room service etc. I paid above the odds for my room with a view, from my room all we got to see was the entrance to multi story car park very exciting. In short I know the hotel is very new but you do have other hotels. We have stayed in very basic hotels yet they always provide show slippers, bath robes, A very generous amount of toiletties such toilet rolls, paper towels. We were told that we could expect a Champagne reception, this was very nice be but never transpired. The food very good the price was atrocious, more than twice the cost of other hotels on the area. The service was wonderful the staff were very nice and friendly. Would I use this hotel again NO. why did expedial take over my booking¡¡
