Guest Reviews
- KaTiE (8/5): - Very nice maids easy and convenient. Easy booking
- Wilfredo (10/5): - Very nice place, food was great, pool amazing as well as jacuzzi.
- Jorge (6/5): - You get what u pay for let's say that however it was convenient for our plans
- Brenda (6/5): - If need just a place to sleep.
- Diana (2/5): - I thought we would book and just have a place to stay in between going to the park-but I didn’t feel comfortable doing that. The room was beyond dirty-the front desk person offered another room-but why wasn’t that an option when I first checked in? I told him I didn’t feel safe-he said if anything happened he would just call the cops….no thanks-I forfeited the 1 night cancellation and booked another place.
- Markia (10/5): - Just a great place to stay I highly recommend and everything is walking distance
- Vanessa (4/5): Gross and run down - Rooms are absolutely filthy and full of mildew. Mold in bathroom , curtains are stained and smelly. This place is run down and and nasty. front desk was nice other than that horrible!!!
- Tomas (2/5): - My experience at this hotel was disappointing. The room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke from the moment I entered, which was very uncomfortable. This really affected my stay, as I expected a clean and pleasant room.
- Trefor (8/5): - All good
- laura (10/5): - The most important part of this room is it was economical and clean. Cleanliness is important to me. Breakfast wasn't fancy but had refrigerated sandwiches to heat up in microwave. Yogurt fruit and bagels also. Thank you
- Brenda (6/5): - Front desk staff friendly but lobby not to clean hotel overall was an ok stay. If you just need a place to sleep then its an okay place
- Emilio (2/5): - The room smelled very bad, lack of maintenance, smelled musty, all disgusting, one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in
- Alejandro (2/5): - I got a bad impression as I arrived at the hotel and got a room I hadn't booked and the beds in bad condition I went back to loby to get the room I had booked and then I went to the room and it was a big disappointment as there was a cigarette smell and the bedding in bad condition damaged. Broken mattress was useless I slept on a metal base and I had to leave the place earlier because I had many bites on my body. They must go for a hotel inspection because the images displayed on the website have nothing to do with what I saw when I entered the room
- Emma (4/5): Do not recommend - Could have written a bit more but ran into character limit. We stayed for two nights while in Tampa for a concert.
Positives: The room was generally clean and the lights, fridge, sink, shower, and such seemed to work (room doesnt have a phone). The AC did work and keep the room cool, but its a bit loud.
Negatives: The door on the original room we were given wasnt properly locking after we closed it and opened without scanning our key card. It's security latch was also broken. When talking to the front desk person about it, he went up and showed us it worked when slamming it so hard the wall literally shook. We requested and got moved to another room. The new door did work normally, however the deadbolt didn't properly go into an indent in the doorplate (making it practically useless) and there was no longer a security latch.
Also, when I checked in I was only asked to provide my ID, not the IDs of the 2 other guests on the 3 person reservation. The next night at around 2am right after we had returned from the concert, we received loud angry pounding on the door from the man on the night shift (no announcement it was motel staff until after I opened the door). Long story short, he noticed us on the cameras and thought we werent guests since the policy is all guests in the room must provide IDs and the Uber that dropped us off was still there. He did explain he was strict about it since there were 2 shootings there in the past year or so.
I wouldnt recommend staying here.
- tina (10/5): - clean room but hard beds
- Charles (6/5): - Everything was clean and neat
- James (4/5): - /
- Markia (2/5): - Nothing
- Mark (6/5): Meh hotel - There's a big sign attached to the front of the lobby building that says that the property has been deemed to be a public nuisance and will have increased rules and increased patrol from law enforcement.
The property is older and hasn't had much updating. My room reaked of cigarette smoke smell. However, my car was still there the next morning so I guess I can't complain too much.
- Mary (10/5): - I don't like being on the front side of the building. To much noise from the street not to mention the sun from that side seems brighter and hotter. But thank goodness they have been around during this transition in our life since Milton we have been displaced and they have been warm and welcoming to us staff can be difficult sometimes but can't everyone at least they are here when need a reasonable place to stay so we are not sleeping in our car again. Hugs and kisses 😘😚😘
- Jacqueline (4/5): - I had to asked to a room with safety lock after 3 rooms found one. Toilet stopped flushing. Fixed promptly then broke again. Key card had to be reset 3times in just a 2 day stay. Staff very friendly and professional and very prompt to resolve my complaints. Pool was nice. Unfortunately the were installing a new roof during my brief stay which was loud for a Saturday. No work on Sunday but that was probably because of thunderstorms all day til 3pm. Room was relatively clean but did find some dead fruit flies in room. Did have good AC and working fridge and microwave a plus. If you are not staying in room except to sleep it will pass but not for confort.
- Adrian (2/5): - Property in really poor condition. Not clean at all. Not safe. The room door's lock was not working properly. You should avoid this property.
- arlene (10/5): - Tanks
- Trevor (2/5): - Roaches in room
- Chris (2/5): - Upon entering I told the front desk clerk that I wasn't from the area and preferred a room that had a parking space directly in front of the room.
When he printed the key he told me he gave me a room in "the next building," & when I asked where it was exactly he said around the corner. I said, "ok, got in my car and started driving around the parking lot." When I made it "around the corner," I notice caution-tape restricting cars from actually driving to the building.
Seeing this I figured it was a mistake, turned around and went back to ask the attendant if there was a mistake.
He told me, "the building is right there," to which I reminded him I'm not from this area and would prefer a room where I can see my vehicle. in frustration he walked around the counter, outside & pointed to a building that was 50 yards away saying, "you can park here and then walk under the caution tape to the building through an empty parking lot." I once again told him I'd like my vehicle close, where I can see it, not 50 yards away and around the corner from where he stood pointing.
His communication skills were paramount to gasliting as he told me, "no one has a problem with walking over there, this is a non issue," rather than simply getting the point I want a room within eyesight of my vehicle. Hearing this he said, "ok I can fix this." He proceeded to give me a room a few doors from the front office and I hoped at this moment the issues from earlier were about to be fixed. They weren't
- Jamie (2/5): - The only highlight here was the girl at the front desk. She was sweet and upbeat, but the place was nasty. There were no working vending machines, the office closed, there were bad places on the floor and walls, you could take a bath (no stopper), no water pressure for a shower and half the lights work
- Everett (10/5): - Great place
- Shanika (10/5): - Everything ok but I don't like the manager
- Tempestt (6/5): - The neighborhood was not that great but I adjusted. The pool had no set time for open in close but on Sunday the person came up and said it was closed so I got out. However, I then saw someone else in the pool area. The rooms were small and not super clean. Its more of a motel.
- Christina (2/5): - The distance to buschgardens.
- James (2/5): - Nasty
- Joshua (2/5): - They gave me the worst room they had
They said they no others but I seen plenty of open ones. It’s just me they didn’t want to give because I saw after me a white guy got a nice room. I paid online and received a email saying i don’t need to pay a deposit. They still wanted one. I tried to use the atm there but it was conveniently broken. So i
- Lazaro (2/5): - This property has to be restored completely even the air smelled like mold the bed covers were torn they really need to do something about that immediately the front desk people were nice but it doesn’t change the super bad conditions this property is in I will never in my life stay there again
- Jose (2/5): - Don’t go here front desk guy is a crack head chasing hookers and get mad when u don’t let him smoke on your blunt and calls the cops and say
- Wessam (2/5): - Bad place to stay. One night stay is too much time even. Unsafe and dirty.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Worst experience ever - When we first got there their system was down instead of the rude old lady saying that she left me at the window, then I’m standing in line once the system was up and she skipped me that came after me.the floors in the room are dirty the a/c had mold and the tub has mold as well, dead roaches on the ceiling, room service guy knocked and let his self in after I stated I’m undressed we don’t need anything. On the way out the same rude old lady tried to keep my money acting as if I didn’t give her a deposit for the key
- Joel (6/5): - The property needs a lot of maintance and remodeling
- James Foster (2/5): - The mattress springs on bed busted, floors and room dirty, Smokey and unpleasant smell. Pool is unkept.
- Yolanda (8/5): - Itbwas a perfect fit and price value fornwhat i needed....would and will definitely stay again .
- Jayla (2/5): - ★☆☆☆☆
Terrible experience. The first room smelled strongly of smoke and looked nothing like the photos. We were moved to a second room, but the AC didn’t work—in the middle of a hot Florida summer. On top of that, there was no running water in the room at all—no sink, shower, or toilet. Completely unacceptable conditions. I have video proof. Do NOT book here. This place is a scam and should be shut down.
- garon (2/5): - Sleeping on plywood
- Ruthnie (2/5): - Very dirty , unkept, laundry room area so dirty the clothes smell bad after drying, had to go somewhere else’s to rewash the clothes, that’s how bad it is
- Michael D (10/5): - Staff is very responsive to guest needs. Safe here. Clean rooms.
- Christopher (2/5): - Terrible, will be reporting to EcoLab for bugs and unsanitary rooms
- Christopher (2/5): - Staff was lacking professionalism, condescending and completely unfit for customer service. Very disappointing for a "hospitality environment". If you could even call it that. Hotel staff treated people like they're inanimate objects. Would never recommend and will definitely be reporting to EcoLab for unsanitary rooms with bugs.
- Jesus M (10/5): Mr V manger was amazing - Property is clean quite and the manger was very helpful and made everything easy for out check in
- Joe (6/5): - Smoking in the rooms
- Grandison (10/5): - Nice clean room, big bed with plenty of pillows. Everything worked, AC,pool, fridge, and TV, it's my second time will go back!!!
- richard (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE THEY WILL WALK INTO YOUR ROOM - DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL! At 7am one of the hotel staff used their key to open my room door and just came in while I was sleeping! They then proceeded to ask me details about my name and reservation saying they didn't have it because of a bug in their system. Completely unacceptable!
- Whitney (6/5): - bed, curtains, and toilet seat (for some reason) had cigarette burn holes. bed is FIRM firm. tiny bathroom. tiny tv. but you get what you pay for; it’s an okay, cheap motel room for a one night stay.
- Harlin (2/5): - These room are extremely disgusting we ask for a 1 KING size bed we got a 2 bed the beds are full of inst
- angela (10/5): - Fantastic
- Randall (2/5): - Bugs coming under door, doors not locked ppl trying to come inside room, spiders in bathroom
- amber (2/5): - We went to Busch Gardens. Needed a place to sleep. Pics looked nice. Pool looked super nice several pics. My kids picked this property. I walk in with my kids all in bathing suits. Front desk starts to check us ask for card to hold and says, Our pool does not work”. I said I have 3 kids that’s why we picked this place for the pool. I had to find another place, never checked in. It’s been 4 days cheap tickets refuses to help.. They charged my card. The hotel will not refund the my money. I have 2 Airbnbs on their sites and I know I am not allowed to advertise an amenity If it is down or no longer available I must notify all sites I advertise on to protect our integrity and keep guests happy and not demanding a refund for FALSE ADVERTISMENTS. These “Inn Keepers” should be ashamed of themselves keeping families money. When they are given 0% govt loans to buy these hotels, gas and liquor stores. They steal our hard working money. Liars and thieves. Cheap tickets acts
Like they can’t get the owner to answer the phone. lol what a joke. All liars and thieves.
- Janice (10/5): - Pleasant stay. Clean room.
- Jack (10/5): - Great
- Robert (10/5): - Excellent staff and a nice room!
- Nilofer (2/5): - the worst property; I had to shift to a new hotel in the middle of the night.
- Sheida (2/5): - The room lights did not even function. Terrible
- Jerrell (10/5): - Always a pleasure
- Tamela (2/5): - Walked in to the room and knew right away there was no way we were staying in this hotel. Room was filthy, furniture was broken, door o
- Larissa (2/5): Ruim - Os funcionários muito simpáticos e córtex, porém a limpeza era precária, o quarto tinham muitas baratas e ainda não recebi o meu calção de volta
- Mimi (10/5): - We stay here often and love these guys
- Verified traveler (6/5): 2 star hotel - This def is a 2 stars hotel. My reservation was non-smoking 1-bed room, when arrived the room smelled horrible to cigarettes'. The host even offered me to cancel the reservation but then offered another room that was in a side they were already renovating which was better. Bed was good, the AC did not cool that much, room was clean at least. My stay was only 1 night so it was ok. I would not stay for longer tho.
- John (10/5): - Very nice people.
- MARCO (2/5): - The place smelled of cigarettes, the comforter burned by cigarettes, nasty bathroom, bugs in sheets and pillows! Doorknob broke as we got in! A/C didnt work! We asked for another room and was the same thing! Bugs in bed, super nasty is a turist trap!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Deplorably inconvenienced - It was pretty bad. They had initially booked me for a decent room it was sizeable and clean but the door wouldn't unlock with the card. Now mind you, the whole building had rooms open and available. I ended up being stuck in this utterly filthy room that must have been for people that they don't like because it was utterly deplorable as well as the fact that it was so small it was not pleasant at all but the main issue was none of that. Except for some of the cleanliness part. It had been the issue of the air not working for 2 days on and off and it was so hot it was sweltering and they refuse to move me to another room they had maintenance come three times and then switch out the air unit and it still didn't work. It was horrible. It was me talking about a refund that made them on the third day that I got moved and then that air unit started to mess up so it was an inconvenience all around.
- Edgardo (2/5): - Dirty,don’t deserve be on Expedia
- Jerrell (10/5): - Great spot to relax
- Verified traveler (6/5): Gavd us ehat we needed, a bed to slerp in. - Cheap room with adequate sleep conditions.
It is not a high end or fancy place, but for those looking for a place to lay your head, it suffices.
I am guessing some rooms are better than others, I booked with Hotels dot com and it looked like the room I booked.
- Jack (10/5): - Love it
- Agniel (4/5): - Lots of smell of tobacco and cockroaches
- Daisy (2/5): - rooms are disgusting . No working tv , no working fridge , mood , no pool , cigarette burns everywhere. Dirty bed, floors and walls WTH, oh and the smell it’s like a trash can.. I had to disinfect the entire room… it’s horrible.. I had no choice because they already had my money & it would not be released for 10 days.. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. So sad I really want a full refund.
- Marcus (2/5): - Never again
- Allison (8/5): - The property and room was clean.
- Yuniel (2/5): - Don’t have good condition
- Maricely (4/5): - Very bad
- Theresa (2/5): - Checked in and the front desk person said I didn't have a reservation. They finally found our room and gave us a key and parking pass for the dash. The parking pass had our room number on it. Such a safety issue that anyone who sees our vehicle knows which room we are in. We finally got into room 124 and were so disgusted. The room had mold in corners, chunks of wall missing, comforter had stains cigarette burns, toilet paper holder broken, TP was sitting on top of toilet, it was just gross. We don't have high standards but a clean room with no mold is expected. Lots of homeless in the area within a couple of blocks. Came from a long day at Busch gardens and didn't want to deal with trying to find a decent room at this place or another hotel so we drove the 2.15 hours back home. For almost $200, there are so many better options.
- Shwai (2/5): - It is dirty anywhere. The ceiling and floor are broken. This room smells very bad.
- Gail (2/5): Your Safety is Questionable - I reserved a room for one night at the Bay Inn through Hotels.com. Upon arrival, the hotel clerk offered us an opportunity to "see the room" before she checked us in. She anticipated we would not want to stay there when she saw us. We CLEARLY WERE NOT THEIR TYPICAL CLIENTILE. The room she showed us smelled like smoke and was not very clean. She showed us a second room that also was not very clean and had a taped up window. The hotel is not located in a very "good" part of Tampa. We did NOT stay at the hotel. The clerk commented, "It's ok, I got you momma". We left and drove further to stay with family.
