Guest Reviews
- Dongsik (10/5): - Clean room and the staff are very friendly.
- Marina (6/5): - It was intolerably hot in the room. The air conditioning was working on heat and it was not possible to change it lower temperature. When I requested help from maintenance the only thing they were able to do is to open the window and promised to resolve the issue next day but nobody did anything, it was the same hot temperature in the room the next day. The staff was completely indifferent to my problem.
- James (10/5): - Location was excellent and property was super clean.
- Terry Ann (10/5): - The staff was super welcoming and helpful and went above and beyond.
Even though centrally located there was absolute quiet in the room which was spacious, clean and nicely laid out
- Philip (8/5): - Nice new facility Reasonably priced good amenities and staff
- Khari (10/5): - The room was lovely. Very clean and spacious. The front desk staff and restaurant staff are very nice. The hotel is conveniently located.
- Sandra and Brian (8/5): - There is barely signage to see this hotel. When you find it there are two extremely small spots to park for registration. There is no option to pull up out front as this road is extremely busy. The whole area is full of homeless ( not the hotels fault). The hotel is nice but I would not stay again just because of parking and traffic issues
- Esra (6/5): - Location is very rough and filled with homeless people. The hotel’s parking is very limited and was full every night. The beds and pillows are not comfortable at all and the sliding bathroom doors lack privacy. Although, the hotel looks aesthetically appealing and is quite new, the location, parking issues and uncomfortable bedding made it difficult to get some rest
- Mireille (8/5): - Perfect location and excellent service from the staff . Plus the property is new so everything is in perfect condition
- Kristina (10/5): - Awesome hotel, but a large surrounding area of people with mental health and addiction issues.
- Joel (8/5): - Everything was good except the noise in the room. Or should I say coming from outside the room. The walls and windows may as well been made out of paper and air. From the traffic and construction outside to being able to hear the room next door open and close their silding glass door to the bathroom.
- Farah (6/5): - The hotel and rooms were advertised bigger with high reviews but the hotel is small on the inside. The rooms are average with only one chair. The bathroom was big but the bathroom door was almost transparent.
The downtown area unfortunately had a lot of homeless people but at least there were a lot of choices for food down the street. And a metro grocery store as well
- Annie-Kim (10/5): - Good restaurant, clean and nice room
- Dianne (10/5): - The hotel was very clean, the room was spacious and the hotel was quiet. Great location close to lots of restaurants and things to do and see! We will be back!
- Bernard (8/5): - Good spot. Parking is an issue. Limited parking on site
- Latasha (10/5): - Nice clean room. Easy to walk around the city.
- Fateh (10/5): - I had a truly wonderful experience during my stay! From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, always making sure I felt comfortable and taken care of. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable, creating a perfect atmosphere for relaxation.
Every detail reflected care and quality, and it honestly made me feel like a valued guest. I am extremely satisfied and very happy with my stay—this hotel truly goes above and beyond to provide an excellent experience.
I will absolutely be returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a memorable stay.
- Paige (10/5): - Easy & very friendly check in. Perfect location for the downtown core of Ottawa. Rooms are very nice & well laid out.
- Kaitlin (10/5): - Super easy check in, friendly staff, impeccable and spacious room with a great view. The only mediocre thing about this hotel is their breakfast but I’d definitely stay again.
- ANGEL (10/5): - Excellent
- Heather (10/5): - Area a little scary
Parking an issue
- Donnie (10/5): - Wine opener in rooms or availble to be brought would have been nice
- Richard (10/5): - Walkable. Quality
- Reagan (10/5): - I really enjoyed my room and overall experience at this hotel. Loved the location staff and hospitality that this placed offered will be back
!
- Peggy (8/5): - I found the lighting in the rooms to be too dark and it would have been nice to have robes. Other than that, it is a nice property, professional but not overly warm staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms. My first time in Ottawa and I found not only the area around this hotel but all of the downtown area to be dirty and feel unsafe.
- Genesis (8/5): - Good staffs, clean place
- Carlos (10/5): - Amazing location hotel pretty new
- Romolo (10/5): - Convenient location, close to Parliament Hill and Byward market.
- Jibo (10/5): - Clean room, friendly staff, and a perfect location! Make sure to check in before entering the parking lot, as you’ll need your room key to open the garage door
- Annette (10/5): Great downtown location - Very comfortable stay, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent security measures in place.
- Sin Yan (6/5): - Coffee machine not work
- Marisa (10/5): - The rooms were spacious, clean and modern without carpet. The location is near the Byward Market and the Rideau Centre. Our room faced Rideau Street so you could hear the noise of the vehicles driving by so if you are a light sleeper ask for a room not facing this street.
- Sandra (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. I haven't seen such overall friendliness and helpfulness from a staff at a hotel in a long time.
- khush (10/5): - Accommodating staff
- Homer (4/5): - Thought location would be good, which it was bit unfortunately did not realize the homeless issue in downtown Ottawa.
- Andrew (8/5): - The hotel is brand new. The rooms and amenities are great. The location is very convenient to everything but might not be ideal to walk around at night. We were in early so it wasn't an issue for us.
- STEPHANE (10/5): - Great hotel overall, staff and up to date clean room.
- Heather (10/5): - Property was nice with the exception of the location, while close to many things, the high number of drug addled people roaming and sleeping on the streets made it feel unsafe at times.
- Jason (8/5): - I felt so good when I was there even though my stay had been cut short i felt safe and Yes id like to try staying with them again in my future.
- Yani (10/5): - Great hotel room, new and spacious.
- Michel (10/5): New and clean hotel! - The hotel, the room, the bathrom looked brand new and everthing was clean! The gym was well equipped wth plenty of space.
- Todd (10/5): - Very professional front desk staff. Everything was beautiful in this brand new hotel. The environment right outside its front doors, however, remain filthy and unsafe. Fentanyl addicts everywhere and the next morning you see aid and naloxalone being administered to the zombies. Although, it's perfectly situated in the Byward Market, the area around the hotel is ruled by the addicts after sunset, no tourists to be seen.
- Heidi (10/5): - Staff at the bar were super friendly, and had some good dinner/ things to do suggestions.
We got an upgrade without asking and we were very happy with the front desk, thank you.
Hotel is beautiful, elegant and close to the market.
- Himanshu (10/5): - Clean & Renovated.
- Timothy (10/5): - Lots of restaurant around the hotel.
- Fadi (10/5): - It was a great stay, the parking was too tight and not many spots but we were lucky to be able to have a spot
- Moira (10/5): - The hotel itself was excellent and service was great. Parking is an issue on a busy long weekend.
- SP (10/5): - The driving to get to the hotel is tricky. You definitely want to approach their parking garage from the East (heading toward the West) to put the building on your right - otherwise - good luck! Once you get landed in their parking garage though you don't have to drive again! Everything is walking distance including the Market area, the Rideau Centre, and countless restaurants and other amenities! The staff is very polite, it felt clean and safe, and the bathrooms are swank - which I loved. The hotel also has an actual gym not just an old hotel room with an exercise bike in the corner and a sad, worn out treadmill. This was a full gym with lots of different machines. The pool is not a traditional pool - it's more of an exercise and lap pool but that doesn't stop families from using it leisurely which was nice. I would stay here again for sure!
- Lisa (8/5): - The staff were very helpful, professional, and friendly. And the rooms were beautiful. The parking spots are tight, and not guaranteed if you’re choosing to leave throughout the day. We were able to secure a spot every day, but it is a consideration. The surrounding area felt unsafe, especially in the evenings, as there were quite a few individuals struggling with homelessness and visibly struggling with substance abuse. This may be something to consider, depending on your comfort level. Again, the hotel itself was very nice.
- Norm (10/5): - The convenience and parking
- Nazanin (8/5): - We didn’t use gym, pool or bar. The room was very clean. The air conditioning was very good. The only issue I had was with water pressure for showering which was less than what I expected.
The underground parking was limited.
The sidewalks around the hotel were dirty. Lots of homeless and addicted people were on the sidewalks which made the atmosphere inconvenient for us.
There were a variety of nice restaurants one block away from the hotel which was very nice.
- Lidy (10/5): - Bunch of homeless around, we try to walk and one drunk guy came along asking for substance or money, they even S..it on the street, we came out in the morning and there was clothing all over the side walk right in front of the hotel, was nasty. Too bad because city is beautiful the architecture is beautiful, it was worth it , we loved it. We will return, the only problem was the drug addicts, so sad they need help.
- Melanie (10/5): - Excellent customer service.
- Jorge (10/5): - Great location
- Judith (6/5): - Unsecured Wifi? Really? How cheap are you to put every one of your guests at risk!
- Claire (10/5): - Very fancy for the price and close to everything I needed.
The shower did not have a wall and water got everywhere. Otherwise no complaints.
Staff were very helpful.
- Derek (10/5): - We thought the general area around the hotel was a bit run down. Many homeless people made us feel a little unsafe. Overall the hotel and staff are excellent!
- John (10/5): - Easy access to parking and friendly staff
- Cathy (10/5): - Excellent place to stay...parking was a little difficult..but hotel was beautiful..view was amazing..restaurants was fabulous
- Aryan (10/5): - Nice
- Ndeye Amsatou (10/5): - My stay there were great and the staff is kind and very available
- Roy (8/5): - Good Service
- Stella (8/5): - The parking area was very small.
- Becky (10/5): Definitely would return! - Beautiful hotel. Very pleasant staff. The beds were super comfortable. Very clean all around the hotel.
- Jamal (10/5): - Great staff, great location very nice rooms.
- Kristy (10/5): - Other than feeling very unsafe walking along Rideu my two young children, I did enjoy the convenience of the location. We actually almost switched hotels because I was that uncomfortable.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was very very slow but our server was wonderful (and made sure that my young boys were happy)
- aileen (10/5): Great location - Nice modern and super clean. Convenient location. Walking distance to parliament hill and byward market. The only downside was outside the hotel but its what you'd expect being downtown.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice - Good room. Noise in Ottawa from construction, but no issues with the hotel.
- Joe christian (2/5): - Lots of noise air conditioning not working when I was there
- Austine (10/5): - The area
- Muna (10/5): Highly recommended! - Conveniently located in the heart of Ottawa; a walking distance from the city’s most famous landmarks.
Room was spacious, clean with a comfortable bed.
Breakfast was not included and parking charges were extra.
Overall a good experience. Will highly recommend it to my friends.
- Alms (8/5): - Didn’t like location
- Bharti (10/5): - central - neat - perfect
- Dan (6/5): - Clean room. Good parking at hotel but no AC. It gets hot in the rooms on the top floors and noisy if window is left open. Other then that good experience
- Guangji (10/5): - The hotel itself is really good. Clean, good food, and nice staff. The location is very convenient, although downtown is full of vagrant, but nothing to do with the hotel.
- Alison (6/5): - We booked here last minute as we needed to add a layover to a trip.
The good:
1. comfortable, newly built room
2. clean
3. staff were friendly and pleasant
4. the pool was clean, warm and a good size
The less good:
1. Nespresso in the room but no mugs (only paper cups) and they only had 3 pods and two creamers. A 4th pod and more generous creamers with proper mugs would have been good
2. There was a fire alarm and some other device on the wall next to the bed that flashed lights all night long. I am very light sensitive so was bothered by it
3. The area around this hotel is quite gritty. Many street entrenched folks wandering around at all hours of the day/night. Would not recommend going out alone at night for this reason.
4. No hot tub and not enough chairs around the pool
- Kirsten (8/5): - Hotel was great. Staff were excellent. Room was great. Except air conditioning wasn’t working.
- Nick (10/5): - Great hotel, wrong place,
- John (10/5): - The hotel was clean and lovely. Our room was spacious, modern and clean. Our floor was very quiet. Staff were very attentive. Our room safe was locked when we got there and the toilet didn’t flush properly but with a quick phone call both issues were very promptly resolved.
There were many homeless people in the neighborhood, but they are spread throughout this busy tourist area as well. Some did ask for handouts but none were aggressive and most kept to themselves. This hotel is great walking distance to the Byward Market, Parliament buildings, museums, restaurants and shopping.
- Jacinth (10/5): - An amazing stay with my family! Will definitely stay here again!
- Talia (10/5): - it was a beautiful facility!
- Salina (10/5): - My experience with this hotel was very nice. The rooms were very clean, bed was comfortable, and in my opinion the shower was the best and the design was very cool.
- Sylvain (10/5): - Excellente
- Sharry (10/5): - Nice facility and nice area
- Verified traveler (10/5): Recommend for short or longer stays. - The place & location is absolutely incredible. Walking distance to city center. Quiet when you need it to be & walking distance to more vibrant atmosphere.
Everything you need is here, minus room service for now I guess, but you don’t really need it. Since, you are near everything.
- Allysha (10/5): - We loved this hotel. Very clean. Underground parking. Walking distance to the market and Rideau mall.
Small pool but my children did not mind at all.
- Catherine (8/5): - I am very very pleased with the room, location, amenities…
But… it is 9:30pm, and there is a terrible noise outside… like… construction? Fireworks?
It started 30 minutes ago and I have no clue what it is… does not seem it will stop.
- Lynne (6/5): - Food options were limited. Took 45 minutes to get eggs in the restaurant at breakfast. They couldn’t make an espresso properly even with fancy new machines. Bed linens are scratchy but comfortable bed. The air conditioning kept going out and the weather was 30 degrees Celsius. It seemed like it was a new hotel but the staff is not yet trained properly. Area around it is very sketchy.
- nicole (8/5): - the property is well located, cause to transportation lot of poor peoples around with trash..we make comment about the smoke detector and fire detectector that light up during the night..
- John (10/5): - very convenient place to stay near the downtown
- Terry (8/5): - The Hotel staff were very friendly.
The only thing I didn't like was that we were charged again for a refill of coffee during breakfast at the hotel restaurant. A bit tacky, and that's the last memory I left with.
- Joyce (6/5): - The property is amazing, staff is wonderful, good restaurant, rooms well appointed, however the location is full of homeless people. It made you feel unsafe and prohibited walking to sights and activities
- Nick (6/5): - AC was broken on a 35 degree day in August.
- Roberto (10/5): - Good place to stay very welcoming
- Rita (10/5): - The front receptionist who helped us check in was especially friendly and offered things to do in Ottawa.
- Guy (10/5): Hotel review - The staff and the room are perfect. The proximity makes it very convenient. One thing is the noise coming from the street wich is above what we are use to.
- Jen (10/5): - We had a great stay
- Michael (6/5): - The hotel is nice and new and clean. But the area right around the hotel is dirty and lots of homeless people. Sadly because of the area and feeling unsafe I would not recommend this place.
- mithun (10/5): - One of the best options with close proximity to every thing
- Flora (10/5): - Vey enjoyable stay, aesthetically pleasing, clean space. TV should be in a better position to watch from bed.
