- Garland (8/5): - The facility is clean and well appointed. The problems I ran into were varied. First, I did not know that this hotel also doubles as a dorm for Alabama State college students. My first night, the police had to be called in the middle of the night because of college students fighting. Not good. My third night, I arrived to the hotel after working a late night shift, only to be told that I couldn't park on the street in the free parking as the city was going to start repaving in the morning. I had 8 hours notice and the only solution the hotel offered was to pay $30 a night for valet . . . which parked in an open unsecured lot next to the same road I was parking on. That was not a good solution. And when I checked out this morning, the system was down so they couldn't check me out and hand me a copy of my bill. So, this is a new hotel but there are some major things that need to be fixed. I'm coming back next week and don't want to go through this again.
