Guest Reviews
- Mark (8/5): - 2 Night stay. Hotel situated less than 10 minute walk from centre. Had a single room that was situated around back of restaurant/pub so can get to room without going inside. Room was clean and cosy, only gripe was no bedside table so can't have a cup of tea or snack while in bed watching TV. Major plus point was lunch in restaurant - 3 course menu was a bargain and delicious - one of best Thai red currys i've ever had. Would definitely stay again.
- mireille (10/5): - Spacious and cosy room. Lovely selection of drinks and biscuits. Very clean and pleasant. Great location for exploring Shrewsbury. Staff were helpful and friendly.
- Samantha (10/5): - The staff were fantastic friendly and helpful
I really recommend not just sraying but the dining is awesome if you are a fan of asian fusion cuisine
- Kelli (10/5): - Simple but comfortable and clean. It was perfect! Food was great!
- Steven (10/5): - Was very pleased with accommodation and food. Biggest disappointment was the black mold on the shower curtain that needs replacing. Otherwise great place to stay and I will recommend it.
- Andrew (10/5): - Good location, short walk into the centre. It has parking at the rear, although it could be a little tight if full. Only one word to describe the staff: AMAZING, so friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean, a little on the small side, but it wasn’t an issue; the shower had good water pressure. We didn’t eat at the restaurant for an evening meal as we went into Shrewsbury, but the menu looked good and the food smelt great. Breakfast was 1st class, a large full English with fresh orange juice and a good pot of tea.
- Wayne (10/5): Lovely, comfortable & clean Hotel - A nice clean comfortable room 5 mins walk from the center of Shrewsbury.
The staff are fantastic, so helpful, smiley and friendly and the food was fantastic, all our meals tasted very freshly prepared and cooked.
- David (8/5): Good Find - Nice welcome, nice room, big cooked breakfast, convenient, good value
- GILLIAN (8/5): - Staff were extremely helpful when I needed to alter the booking at very short notice.
Room was rather hot but there was a fan provided.
Plentiful tea/coffee supplied.
Bathroom could do with some attention. Shower head leaked and wouldn't stay in position which meant that it needed to be held throughout it's use.
- Les (10/5): Yak & Yeti - Nice bedroom, tiles in bathroom need updating, a new shower curtain required and the bathroom fan would appreciate a clean. The staff are very polite, and excellent service from all concerned. The full English breakfast was very good and filling but not sure if there was an alternative choice. Four of us ate there one evening and the food could not be faulted,Accommodation is a few minutes walk to the river and edge of town,Shrewsbury is a beautiful town and full of independent shops,we would highly recommend a stay at Yak &Yeti.
- Christine (8/5): - Outstanding cleanliness ! In restaurant, bed linen extremely
White and new looking, staff so attentive, kind and friendly.
The only thing wrong was our room 10 was really small,
however, we would go back and ask for a larger Double
room such as no. 9 or 3.

- Clare (10/5): - Great little find, over delivered on what was offered. Very good value for money.
- Mr and Mrs S (10/5): - Very friendly and in a good walkable area to explore shrewsbury.
- Louis (10/5): - Really well located bed and breakfast that me and friends used to commute to the local Oswestry college. Incredibly friendly staff and very clean and well put together rooms
- Ololade (8/5): - The service was impeccable and the room was clean. The breakfast was delicious. The only downside was that the bathroom had a mat that didn’t look very clean. I just moved it out of the way and didn’t use it. And the kettle couldn’t be plugged in as the table was too high for the plug to reach the socket. I would most definitely stay here again.
- randy (10/5): - My son and I spent a week here. The staff were top notch. The highlight of the stay was dining at the restaurant everyday. The food was incredible. Although Shrewsbury has many fine places to dine, we found ourselves returning daily to try something new from the menu.
- Peter (10/5): - Very welcoming reception by manager and all staff v polite and courteous. Room was very clean and well presented. Excellent breKfast
- Janet (10/5): - Hotel was a bit further from the station than I was lead to believe. Bathroom was a bit shabby, stained Lino, sealant needed replacing, shower head would not stay angled on the holder,
- Simon (8/5): - small but clean and some nice touches like aromatherapy oil and complimentary water. The bed was very comfortable and shower worked well. Would have liked a wardrobe. Convenient locatuon close to town centre and parkjng available recommended
- Barbara (8/5): Staff really friendly but room noisy, boiling. - Room was very hot, small but pleasantly decorated. Noise from kitchen and bottles being emptied until quite late.
Food and staff good
- Janice (10/5): - Beautiful inside and lovely deck area outside
- Anthony (10/5): - Very clean,very quiet,very comfortable
- Sylvia (8/5): - Staff were friendly & helpful. Good location near train station. Would recommend.
- paul (10/5): - GREAT PLACE
- Julie (10/5): - Had a lovely stay. My room was great, the food was good and the staff were lovely
- Abimbola (8/5): - Cool and welcoming.I will like to come back next time
- Patricia (10/5): - It was immaculate. The staff were really pleasant, welcoming , helpful and professional.
- Terry (6/5): - This is a nice building with a very pleasant attached pan asian restaurant.
The room was clean and pleasantly furnished. It was a little on the small side, but not cramped. The bed was comfortable. The windows opened for ventilation. There was even a sun deck. There is parking on site, but it is limited. Two bottles of water were provided in the room aling with tea and coffee making facilities.
Issues:
* I emailled the hotel before my stay but have recieved no reply.
* Woken at 5.30am by a noisy delivery (only 1 night)
* Our shower had little pressure and was barely usable. There was a bath.
* Our room was not serviced.
We only stayed 2 nights so these issues were not major for us. The staff were very friendly.
The hotel is located about 7 mins from the town centre, so is conveniently situated.
- Clive (10/5): best breakfast ever - We had a fantastic say at the Yak and Yeti the hosts were fantastic to us, nothing was so much trouble for them, the staff were all very friendly, the service was top notch.
But the best of all was the full English breakfast, it was without doubt the best one I have ever had, truthfully.
We will return without doubt, congratulations Yak and Yeti.
- Philippa (8/5): - Staff couldn’t be more attentive in the restaurant. Both evening meal and breakfast were delicious. The sausages were undercooked for my liking but the waiter immediately rectified this. The bathroom was a little tired looking and the shower temperature was erratic. We couldn’t get the TV to work but the staff quickly made some adjustments. Bed was really comfy. Overall a nice stay and I would stay here again.
- Richard (10/5): - Recommended hotel, quiet & very comfy bed.
- Mark (10/5): - Good location and great food
- Wendy (10/5): - We arrived on a lovely sunny afternoon and enjoyed drinks on their sun deck then a lovely meal in their resturaunt
- Rowena (10/5): - Thank you for your hospitality you can see the effort going into the outside space,. Room was clean and spacious good bed and bedding really pleasant staff and a lovely breakfast.
Some of tbe finish of the room refurbishment was a bit poor diy rather than professional but for what we paid we were more than happy satisfied.
Had tickets for an event in town so didnt eat on this occasion but have def put on our list of places to return to for a meal and as long accomodaton stays reasonable we will combine it with an overnight stay rather than drive back to.Telford.
- Julie (10/5): - Quirky old building with excellent dining options & lovely staff. No choice at breakfast (full English) but it was very good. Only issue was that the room was too hot for us & we couldn’t adjust the radiator
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hotel, really nice staff overall a really nice couple of nights away. Thank you again
- David (10/5): - Yak and Yeti had really friendly people running the place and made me welcome.
- Shaun (8/5): Business Stay 1-Night - Overall, I was happy with my stay and would stay again! The car park was busy but I found parking without a problem. The evening meal was delicious, as was the breakfast. I would go as far to say the full English was one of the best I've had.....
Service was unbeatable.
- I T (6/5): OK hotel, great food - Small but comfortable rooms, the bed was really comfy. Bathroom was clean and freshly painted, some of the silicone looked a little tired. The water pressure was poor resulting in a very week shower. On several mornings there was alot of noise from the courtyard/ car park. The parking available is limited.
Great restaurant for dinner.
