Guest Reviews
- mary (8/5): - The property itself was fine it was a nice room. There was a very nice woman on the property but she wasn't really available officially. They had nobody there except on Friday and Saturday I think for several hours. It was merged with another motel. You had to go to the other motel to register for the motel I stayed in. Fortunately I ended up at the other one first and registered. It was dark I do not drive in the dark I had to find my way which was not hard in a town I'm not that familiar with. I drove over to curbs I think. Then it was a locked facility which is good but I had some sort of trouble. The fact that Expedia did not tell me that I had to go to another motel to get into the motel I stayed in is absolutely horrifying. I've never encountered anything like this. So the motel was good but the experience and having to go to another place first was horrible.
- Damien (6/5): - It's got a gated entrance you need a code for it's pet friendly it's not the biggest room and shower isn't the cleanest but it's definitely safe all though be careful driving. Around at night cause the police are pretty hot there the vending. Machine only worked for change or physical card not tap other then that it's fairly decent for its price right next to outlet malls and not far from down town
- Matt (8/5): - Nice clean rooms andcarea
- Scott (2/5): - Unsafe. Door would not lock them door would not close
- Mary (8/5): - The property itself is nice and comfortable. However, Expedia and the property did not say you had to go to another motel to check in; when I arrived it was dark and I do not drive in the dark but I did. It was horrifying to not just get to your motel and go to sleep. We should have been informed. A nice woman named Tina did show up and help me but no one was in the office, although there is partly on the weekend now. It has a gated fence and push buttons etc. Things are not clear -- I was in C106 but hard to see the C, D etc. It has very nice washing machines. The water pressure in shower is so low I could not get my washrag wet. I could not figure out the remote but I never can. Please put a notice up that explains how to use 2 remotes. I could not watch TV much because I could not get it to work. All in all, the facility is nice, good location, but to not be told that you had to drive to a new motel after checking in to another was horrible. You need a full time or 2 part time people on the property to help...you could get people for free rent I think.
- Vania (2/5): - Needed to have a code to get into the property. No notice of this. Diving into the reservation, finally found a different location you need to go for check in. Get there and they give me the code to get into the original property and that I would still need to check in there. Then, additional fees added on top of what I booked with Expedia. Horrible experience. Staff was nice.
- Dinesh (2/5): - I booked a stay at Valley View at King Oscar expecting a hotel, but upon arrival, I discovered it’s actually a residential leasing property — not a hotel as advertised. The listing is extremely misleading.
The residents appear to be long-term tenants, and the environment felt unsafe. I saw multiple cars with shattered windows in the parking area, which was very concerning. I did not feel comfortable staying and left without checking in.
This place is not suitable for travelers and should not be listed as a hotel. I strongly advise others to avoid booking here unless you're fully aware of what you're getting into.
Given the misrepresentation and safety concerns, I am requesting a full refund for this booking. I did not stay at the property and believe the listing violates basic expectations of transparency and traveler safety.
I’ve also reported this issue to the booking platform and relevant consumer protection agencies. I urge others to be cautious and verify listings before booking.
- Razunda (10/5): - This place has no A/C it was very uncomfortable
- Tyler (2/5): - Front desk was at another physical location, air-conditioning didn’t work, noisy, hair all over, no warm water, tiny.
- Esmeralda (2/5): - They are apartments with no Air Conditioning. The area is not the best and sketchy! We had to check out early since the room was extremely muggy and hot!
- Scott (6/5): - There were no towels in the room and the front office was 2 miles away from the location we were staying. We only learned that we had to check in at a separate location when another patron helped us
- Beverly (4/5): - The check in office was not located on the actual property itself! It was located across the freeway at another motel property that was in the process of being renovated into half apartments (top floor) and motel rooms on the bottom floor. I was shocked to find out, that that was the same set up at the Valley View at King Oscar! It was not advertised as such, nor was there any information (either on their website nor posted instructions on the property) about where to check in once upon arriving!
Because it is half apartments and half motel rooms, one will be given a "key code" in order to enter onto the property! Without having had any prior information, it was an extremely frustrating/stressful situation!
Also, someone's dog (upstairs in one of the converted apartment room's) started barking at 5:30am and never stopped by the time I left at 9:45 am! (It obviously had been left alone!)
I noticed that the nightstand surface had not been entirely cleaned off as well. I used a washcloth to clean it, and took a picture of it for the record! Also, the toilet sits so low, those with mobility/knee issues might have a difficult time squatting down and or getting back up! It was/is only 16 inches from the floor to the top of the seat! (one sits on) I was also charged 10$ more than my original expedia booking price. I caught that discrepancy the next morning and I had to call the office to have them correct and refund the difference back into my card.
- Hilda (2/5): I didn't like my stay. - I did not like staying at the hotel because the room was so hot. I want to book these rooms to have a cool place to stay when it was really hot outside. Well that was not the case the rooms were so hot the air in the rooms did not work. The central air in the rooms was over 80 degrees for my whole stay. I will not be coming back. I would like to have a refund of my money for my stay there.
- Jack (2/5): - There are gates and fences around the property and no walk through gate, its a housing complex not really a motel, no air conditioning. Just not a good place to stay
- Sarah (4/5): - No AC, small uncomfy bed, office is at a whole different location
- Emma (2/5): - My partner and I arrived at the destination and the first building looked like it was in the middle of a huge renovation with a different name.
Although the lady at the desk was friendly, the computer system did not have our reservation at first.
We were reassigned to staying at a “sister property”
We got to the “sister property” It was an odd mix of what appeared to be “homes” and “rentable rooms” the room itself appeared to be newly renovated but the water pressure was atrocious.
Ultimately, we notified the property through Expedia asking to have the reservation canceled and refunded. I have yet to hear back.
- Hannah (2/5): - Cheap is the first thing that comes to mind for this property. The office to check in is across town ,the AC does not work and they do not care. Our toilet wouldn't flush, the shower is cramped and awkward and be ready to put every towel on the floor cause the curtains are to short
- Sarah (4/5): - No AC, small bed
- trinidad (10/5): - Staff
- trenidad (10/5): - I love the staff
- trinidad (10/5): - Staff is amazing
- trinidad (10/5): - Staff is amazing
- trinidad (10/5): - Staffing
- trinidad (10/5): - Staff
- Verified traveler (2/5): - there was no room available. hotels.com is supposed to refund me
- Michael (10/5): - Very Peaceful, clean and nice
- Lynette (8/5): - Small room but clean and nice. Bathroom sink didn’t drain and water in shower was just a trickle.
- Johaness (6/5): - The property was gated felt safe
- corey (6/5): - Aur conditioner didnt wirk nor did tv remote
- Lynnsea (2/5): - I was looking forward to this day but when I got there I realized it was nothing like what was described on the website there were homeless people all around no AC screaming kids everywhere poop all over the grass that you could hardly avoid but to top it off the pool and the hot tub apparently don't exist or are just complete false advertisement. I will never go to this place again and I highly suggest you don't either
- Dawn (2/5): - Never saw a “hot tub” the “pool” was a concrete patio with sun chairs. The bed was weirdly small and hard. (But the room was very clean) The shower curtain is about 4” too short and the floor is dangerous when wet. The strangest thing was trying to check in. You have to drive to an entirely different location several miles away to get a gate code and door keys. They are located in a trailer behind a chain link fence that was difficult to locate and in a sketchy area.
- Rosy (8/5): - Room was cleaned, I was able to check in early. Only thing missing was cable ready TV.
- Darin (6/5): business trip - There were ants, and no air conditioning. I was told that they had a microwave, nope, didn't have one.
- Benjamin (4/5): - No working air conditioner anywhere in the property. Had to drive to another property just to get my key to the room. No working pool even though they had one showing on the website. Would not stay here again.
- Iuliia (4/5): - Towels in kitchen were dirty
The bed is too small for two people
- Brian (8/5): - Irresponsible pet owners NOT cleaning up after them .
- wendy (2/5): - There was no AC! And they advertised a pool And hot tub but there was neither! It was totally hot and miserable.
- Crystal (6/5): - Cute little room. Just no working ac so it was warm all night. And didn't realize it didn't have microwave
- kevin (2/5): - I paid for 2 nights and left after the 1st night it was that bad. Bed was on a piece of wood and it slid off the right side more than 8 inches in the night. The shower was basically non-functional as the shower head was behind my head high in the ceiling and only hit my head and my neck . I could go on but won’t as I do not want to waste more of my time. Stay Away
- Sharon (10/5): - Quiet, clean and comfortable. The perfect get away.
- Gregory (8/5): - Nice
- David (4/5): - hard to find. unkempt/dirty frontal. finding the "office" (trlr was a joke.
now when i get home i see that my credit card was charged 10 dollars more than Expedia printout indicated
- Andrew (6/5): - Decent, clean motel. Good location. Gated property. The property also has long term leases so you are staying in someone else’s neighborhood - which is strange, but no issues at all. My only complaint about the room itself is the AC pumped out hot and humid air. Turned it on before going on a walk and came back to an 80+ degree room.
Another complaint is the check in process. Had to check in at a different location blocks over. This took awhile because there is one over worked person running the front desk for two different properties. Stood in line for 30 minutes or so. She was very nice and apologetic about the wait.
I’d take this property again over the Motel 6 nearby.
- Ashley (8/5): - The King Oscar we stayed at was an old motel six the bathroom it’s across the original king Oscar hotel that is being remodeled bathroom fan is super loud, but it’s basically a studio for two people the bathroom shower was small I like that. It comes equipped with fridge that also has a freezer and a stove with a microwave. The towels were tiny I wish they could fix the bathroom. Other than that, the area was gated and we felt secure.
- CRISTIE (8/5): - The room was clean and had a gated entrance. No on-site staff, had to check in at their other property a few miles away. First room, the toilet didn't flush so we had to go back to other location to get another key for another room. Bed was kind of small, only a full size bed located right in the middle of the room so not much of a walkway. Staff at the other location was nice and it was a nice room for the price.
- trinidad (10/5): - I love staying here and the staff is amazing ❤️❤️❤️
- trinidad (10/5): - Love it here
- Will (8/5): - Stayed at on off-site location. Much better than the actual location.
- Mindy (2/5): - We ended up leaving. Enough said not good at all.
- Brian (8/5): - BEWARE!!!!! Read to the end! The room was newly renovated. It was clean and comfortable. The photos show a kitchen with a fridge and stove—NO MICROWAVE—and nothing with which to cook on the stove, so bring your own pot for boiling water and dishes if you want to use it. Pool is closed I think- I didn't try. NOW- CHECK-IN???? You must go across the freeway to a very sketchy part of town to find an obscure trailer that is in front of a caged-off area- do NOT go around the building- it feels very unsafe- and look behind the tree where you will find a trailer that has a banner labeled office. There you may find a person- or not- and don't bother to call because if she isn't available to answer, her mailbox is full and there is NO HELP for you (and don't bother to call Expedia- they can't help you.) It took us an hour to figure out how to get our keys. GOOD LUCK!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice - Great. Good room. Very nice staff.
- Raul (10/5): - Mixing
- Timothy (4/5): - Room was fine, but mishaps with the key card SEVERAL TIMES diminished the enjoyment.....we had to constantly go get replacement key cards and still didn't work....
- Sabrina (10/5): - Our stay at Valley View at King Oscar was a perfect road trip stop. The room was clean, and the property felt secure. While checking out at a different facility was a bit confusing, everything went smoothly. Despite our late arrival, the desk lady was welcoming and kind. Overall, a great and comfortable stop!
- Rachel (8/5): Stayed a week - The kitchen was very useful for saving money. I had to bring all the kitchen equipment though they didn’t even ave silverware.
I felt very secure and it was quiet and centrally located.
- Janice (10/5): - Everyone has been so friendly and accomodating
- Laurie (4/5): - The office for check in was across the freeway at another facility under renovation. No where was this ever stated online or even at the actual motel site I ended up staying at. I got lucky by re-inputting the name of the hotel in my GPS and eventually found the office in a temporary trailer and completely different address not even close to the actual complex. Now I know why the price was inexpensive. Until they rectify this mind boggling lack of communication and complete renovations, I would advise avoiding this motel
- Jennifer (10/5): Nice small room - Nice small place and only used the fridge and microwave helped a lot. Walls are kind of thin but overall room is good. Free parking and the lady on the evening shift was super nice!
- BETTY (6/5): Horrible bed - The bed wouldnt stay on the frame. Everytime you sat down or moved it would slide of the side and the pillows where flat.
- Karla (10/5): - Nice place !!
- James (10/5): - Quiet convenient
- Jackie (4/5): - The lady at front desk, a I believe her name is April, has no customer service skills she obviously doesn't like her job. She spends her day out smoking cigarettes and is rude if you interrupt her. The office is not on site and very inconvenient . There are ants everywhere in the rooms. The rooms are tiny , no microwave , and you can hear everything from the rooms around you .
One good thing is the housekeeping staff where kind and complimentary .
- trinidad (6/5): - The room was super cold the shower sucks ass
- trinidad (2/5): - The smoke alarm didn’t let us sleep Friday night to Saturday literally every 1 min it would go off the gate to leave the facility wouldn’t open. Ants crawling on me. Saturday they fixed the smoke alarm but still ants in my room and then there was people screaming and partying and didn’t get to sleep until 5am on Sunday! I have been renting almost every weekend for 2 years now this is the worst experience I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! I shouldn’t have even paid since I couldn’t even ENJOY MYSELF NO SLEEP FOR NOT ONE BUT 2 nights !!! It’s not cheap but seriously after staying in your hotel rooms for almost 2 years every weekend ! Mary and Nita front desk amazing caring people but when I called in Saturday morning to tell them that the smoke detector wasn’t fixed and he women had NOOOOOO SYMPATHY WHATSOEVER! She was so sort with me like I was a nobody but I am a loyal customer of yours I promise you I help you get your paycheck!!! I want something for the inconvenience or I can take my weekend get away and give my money to a hotel that is going to take care of me!!!
- Joseph (10/5): - Made me feel very comfortable and safe.
- trinidad (6/5): - Shower had no water pressure
- trinidad (8/5): - Amazing stay besides the cold air coming in from the door
- Joe (2/5): - Front office was non existent. It was a trailer located .7 miles away from where my reservation was. No pool. The room was 59 degrees when I walked in. Burned myself with the shower because the water was backwards (not bad enough for further action) I would ask for a refund.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wish there was more lighting in the room.
- Larissa (10/5): Great price, clean, nice shower, and comfy bed - Great place! Can’t beat the price and was right near stores and fast food places for convenience. Check-out was nice; just leave the key card in the room and don’t need to do anything else. Bear in mind that the check-in spot is a one or two minute drive from the place (check your instructions), but you only need to show up there for check-in. Would stay here again!
- Michael (4/5): - It was not communicated that the pool and spa were under renovation. The rooms were very small and I think there sign outside the property said apartments. Not sure if we were renting a room in a low income apartment complex or not. Our room was a studio and most of all THE POOL AND SPA WAS CLOSED FOR RENOVATION!!! We also had to check in at another location on the opposite side of the freeway and then drive to the actual room.
- Jason (2/5): - They dont tell you until after you book. Way at the bottom of the email saying youre all set check in anytime after 3pm.
You cannot check in onsite. Youre supposed to drive to some other place to check in? I got in town late after a 4 hour drive. Could not check in, slept in my car. Do NOT book here.
- Laura (10/5): - The room was clean and updated. Had everything we needed for an excellent price point. The only complaint I have was that the towels were really thin. :).
- LAWRENCE (10/5): A break from a usual, hectic routine. - Was and ATM, Is a clean, quiet, and affordable motel. Perfect spot for a quick getaway, or even a longer stay. Most staff isn't onsight, but that also makes you feel more comfortable, and independent. Still had adequate maid service, with the emphasis on not disturbing guests.
- SCOTT (10/5): Great cheap stay - Cheap and good
- scott (10/5): Cheap - Cheap and good
- Aurelia (6/5): - Absolutely would stay again for the price & safety but the exiting the gates was a miss. Once they update it, it’s definitely going to be busy busy!
