- Christine (8/5): - Clean room. Nice staff. I understand they had a sand storm the day before our arrival so, considering that, all was good. It was hot but there was nothing they could do about that!

- Debra (8/5): - We had a deluxe king room for our one night stay. It was clean and nicely presented and the bed/pillows were comfortable. The only problem for us was that the bed had only a top sheet to sleep under. This made it feel a bit too cold in bed, particularly as the air con needed to be set to stop heat building in the room. I expect in the height of summer this might be fine but despite the temp being set at 73 deg, we both felt we needed a blanket for full comfort- or at least be given the option of using one. The full size fridge with small freezer was useful for cold drinks but personally we’d have liked a coffee maker as we were in the furthest block from reception/restaurants although they did offer free coffee in reception if you got there before 8am which is a bonus. We ate at the restaurant and both the service and food were excellent. This hotel is in the heart of Death Valley and had we had time we’d have made use of the pool to cool off. There was a small sandstorm brewing when we arrived which was interesting! The hotel is a great option if you want to stay in the heart of this extraordinary national park.

- SUSAN M (10/5): - The location inside Death Valley National Park was excellent! Really enjoyed our stay at Stovepipe Wells. The room was clean, large and comfortable. All the staff we met both in the lodge and the dining areas were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area, offering ideas of what to see and do during our stay. It is quite a distance to travel to any other restaurants from Stovepipe Wells but although we had three dinners and three buffet breakfasts there we really enjoyed all our meals. The food was well prepared, the portions generous and the wait staff, especially the waitress we had all three mornings for the breakfast buffet, were wonderful. Would definitely recommend staying and dining at Stovepipe Wells if visiting Death Valley.

Considering the location supplies in the general store are reasonably priced. Beds were comfy, room was clean and I really appreciate the efforts taken to make the hotel more environmentally sustainable. The price of gas at stovepipe was $1/gallon cheaper than the station before and after. We will be visiting again.

- Michele (8/5): Quaint, inside the park - The hotel is cute, the location is great. I liked being in a quieter village than Furnace Creek, and the proximity to the Dunes and Mosaic Canyon was great. Staff was very nice. I will admit that I was confused by the strict “no cooking” rule in the rooms … as, what is a road trip without a cup of noodles or haphazard hotel room meal. I made it work by eating protein bars, but this was inconvenient (as I have an odd diet and can’t just eat out, easily). Having the fridge was very helpful though, and the ice machine was always plentiful for keeping water below boiling during the drives / hikes in the park. Overall, I’d def recommend it.

The cold water in the shower was about the same temperature as the hot water - surprisingly not very hot considering that the pipes bake in the desert heat all day. Dinner at the Badwater Saloon was good, and they have a nice beer selection.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Spare yet satisfying stay at Stovepipe - Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Stovepipe Wells Village. It was my first time staying there. My room was clean and cool and comfortable. Loved that I had a designated parking space right outside my door. The lighting situation was a little weird—there was no bedside lamp, but I made it work. Also at check-in, I was confused when the guy checking me in gave me the pool code, even though the website said the pool was closed (and it was indeed closed for maintenance). And the ice machine wasn’t working at all when I needed it. I had an excellent dinner at Badwater Saloon—ribeye steak was cooked to perfection and the service was quick and friendly. I loved being so close to the Mesquite Dunes. It was a 3 minute drive from the hotel so I was able to easily see the sunrise there. Afterward, I spent the rest of the morning journaling and people watching on the porch near the hotel gift shop. Also loved the close proximity to the gas station and general store. Would def stay again.

Even after I said hello he refused to acknowledge that I was standing in the lobby. he told the person in front of me about all the amenities. he told me about nothing at all! I didn't know if there was Wi-Fi. I don't know if there's breakfast. he told me absolutely nothing about the property except to walk up a dangerous walkway that was unpaved and was natural loose gravel and being repaired. he did not inform me that I could park in front of the room. he had me sitting in a parking lot two buildings away. this is the rudest check-in I have ever experienced. most of the property seems to be okay other than the dangerous walkways all over

- Hannes (10/5): - The hotel enjoys a fantastic location. Breakfast was superb – at only $13.99 it felt like an incredible bargain and was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is equally worth recommending for dinner. Rooms were simple yet very clean and comfortable. During the extreme Death Valley heat the bathroom pipes carried a slight odour, but this was a minor issue. Above all, the staff were outstandingly friendly and welcoming.

The hotel manager overheard and had the kitchen grab us a few to-go plates!! Absolutely caring people. Our room was in the middle of a large group of teenagers from England that were in and out of rooms and running past our room all night, so didn’t sleep much. Room was clean and comfortable at least!

We had a small issue with loud neighbors, but a quick call to the front desk sorted it out. Pool was COLD. The saloon had a nice variety of food from pizza to burgers to steaks. General store across the highway had most of the essentials. Restaurant served a breakfast buffet that was better than you'd find in most hotels and the hostess was super friendly.

- Michael (2/5): A Pinacate Stink Bug Greeted Me From My Pillow - A bad threshold gave free reign to these stink bugs to come and go as they pleased. One was on my pillow upon initial entry! I killed 6 of them before going to sleep. My son killed another, stepping on one in the dark. The threshold was missing the plastic seal. Would be a simple fix.

Everything you could need is on the hotel's campus and I loved how walkable everything was. Everything was clean and functioned perfectly - WiFi, AC, etc. I couldn't ask for anything more after spending all day in the park.
- Danielle (10/5): - The staff was wonderful, and the hotel room was clean. The restaurants and general store had much better service and prices than other locations in Death Valley.
- Natalia (10/5): - Recently updated rooms, nice authentic ranch. Staff at the reception not as welcoming as previous years. The lady at the breakfast restaurant is very nice and gives this place a warm touch. Every time we stay the pool is close for the maintenance in the morning.
- Bella (10/5): Great place that takes you back in time. - Everyone was super friendly and helpful. It was super close to the Sand dunes and had everything we'd need for a short or long trip. I was very impressed and would definitely stay there again.
- Chole (10/5): - Chris was very helpful with directions to various sites and offered good advice. The room was small but was very clean, the AC worked well (unlike the AC at the resort), everything was comfortable and exactly what we expected. Next trip to Death Valley this will be our "home base."
