- Tiran (8/5): - Great place to stay downtown for cheap for a weekend. Someone took the AC remote so the room was a tad hot throughout the night and there's limited air flow in the capsules. Breakfast is great, just can take a long time to get. Toilet paper is needed even if there are bidets.

- Peter (8/5): - The room was decent and my capsule was comfortable and clean, but my roommates were a bit of a downer. They must have been mole people or something because they insisted on drawing the blackout curtains during daylight and turning the air conditioning to maximum cold all day and night. The hostel seems unfinished in many ways, with a lot of details half-completed. I saw a previous review that said this will be a nice place when the construction is completed, but there isn't any active work going on. That said, I have to give a shoutout to the staff, who all were super nice, helpful in many ways, and friendly. Free breakfast was an added bonus! Hostel is close to Metro, and the Capitol Mall is a walkable distance to see all the sights and museums.

- carmen (10/5): - This was my first capsule experience and I’m so glad it was at I Street. The entire place is well-kept and modern. It looks just like the pictures in the listing. The app controls all access - no fumbling for keys/cards. The kitchen is large and well stocked. The entire staff and friendly and helpful. I arrived late at night and couldn’t ask for a better check-in experience. The area felt safe and is just 2 blocks from the subway. I also left my bag as I had a late flight and had no problems retrieving it. Your capsule has plenty of plugins and 3 lighting options. The mattress is memory foam and quite comfortable. The free breakfast was great - eggs, sausage and pancakes cooked for you. I would stay here again! An interesting experience were the bidet toilets - no toilet paper. One note: the capsules do not have good air circulation (at least in early October), so bring a mini travel fan. That’s what I used and it kept me cool through the night.

Great location on 6th street and I streets. 10-15 minute straight walk to the National Gallery of Art and National Archives, and about a 25-30 min walk to the US Capitol.Close the Chinatown train station. Staff was super friendly. Free breakfast of pancakes everyday, and had a free beer night on Friday! Capsule was just right size with plenty of space for a big dude like me I’m 6 feet and a half and almost 300 lbs. I was concerned whether I got but I did! Multiple Showers with toilets, so never had to wait to use the bathroom or take a shower. Showers had good water pressure and shampoo. My only tiny minor thing is the toilets had bidets, since one is not allowed to use any toilet paper lol, but rather rely on a steady stream of water going up your insides to clean. That could be a huge issue for some people FYI, BUT Was quite the interesting experience having never used a bidet before but it worked out and was pretty cool and different. They said it’s an old building with small pipes and toilet paper can get clogged up easily, so that’s the reasoning which is more than reasonable. The place was very modern and beautiful with a full sized kitchen with two stoves and ovens to cook your own means and a living room to stretch out. Anyways great clean affordable place to stay in DC, and will definitely do again if available.

- Hayato (4/5): - Location The hostel is located in Chinatown. The east side of the building felt relatively okay, but the west side had a large number of homeless people and felt very unsafe. Most of the guests seemed to be Chinese travelers. Check-in & Staff When I arrived, there was a sign saying to download the GOKI app. However, when I entered the Expedia confirmation number into the app, it was rejected as invalid. Since I had not received any prior instructions, I had no choice but to press the intercom and be let in to check in. The staff were friendly, but there were serious mistakes. At first, I was shown to the wrong room—a female-only dorm—and I even placed my belongings there before being told it was incorrect. If I had left immediately, it could have been a serious problem. Later, when I asked about lockers, the staff gave me inaccurate information, which felt unhelpful. Room & Security The new room I was assigned had lower security than the female dorm. The capsule lock didn’t work at all. While the GOKI app ensured that only registered guests could enter the room, there was no way to secure my belongings against other roommates, which felt unsafe. Each capsule came with a GOKI-controlled locker, but in my case the locker was located outside the room, making luggage management very inconvenient. Facilities The building is three floors with no elevator, which would be difficult for anyone with heavy luggage. Wi-Fi was available, but it did not reach inside the capsule, making
- Henry (10/5): - Having stayed at several different capsule hotels in Japan, I was excited to see something similar being offered here. Hotels in DC are not cheap so this was perfect in terms of providing an affordable yet comfortable place to stay. Overall I was not disappointed and was happy with my visit. The staff were very friendly upon check-in and the room (while still somewhat under construction) was more than adequate (my biggest issue with the capsules in Japan were the flimsy mattresses; no such issue here). Ear plugs are recommended (and provided) if you’re a light sleeper; I was in the upper bunk which was fine for me. Lockers provided secure storage and everything is conveniently managed from an app on your phone (which is a step up from Japan).

- Marc-Christian (8/5): - The staff was super friendly and supportive. Fresh pancakes are made every morning. The sleeping pods were something new for me and I liked it. It seemed like not all of them were fully built, as the curtains weren't installed yet, but that might be just a questions of a couple more days, providing you with a bit more privacy. The location worked out superb for me. China town is just across the sreeet, offering plenty of food options. The main seights are still in walking distance.

The breakfast was good and sometimes it had Friday beer movie night. The location is perfect. Will highly recommend it.

- Ezra (8/5): - I had a really wonderful time staying here! There was some initial difficulty with my check-in, but everyone was on it immediately and it was quickly resolved. The facilities are clean and comfortable. As a newer business, the building is still undergoing some upgrades, but in the meantime everything is more than functional. What puts this place over the top in my view is the friendliness of the staff - particularly Jim, the property manager. The atmosphere is warm and homey. The location is very close to the Capitol Mall, Smithsonian museums and other attractions. What isn't close by is easily accessible by using DC's extremely safe, intuitive and user friendly public transportation system. I would definitely stay here again!

- Mariana (2/5): Horrible - What a horrible experience! It was awful from start to finish. I booked a room at the I Street hostel. When I got there, they told me that the construction hadn't been finished and I had to go to the U Street capsule hostel. In other words, I booked one place and was forced to stay at another, with the excuse that “it's not that far away”. To keep me quiet, they allocated me a private room from Monday to Friday. On Thursday I received a message that they were removing all my things from the room because my days in the private room were over, they literally put my things in garbage bags. I found this humiliating, wrong to touch people's things and unethical. Their excuse was that I “didn't understand what they said”. It's very easy to blame the foreigner and say that she didn't understand, when clearly I was going to stay in the private room until Friday. They ignored me on the chat from start to finish. They didn't respond, the GOKI app didn't work properly. After all this I asked for my money back, which is very obvious. They changed my location, didn't tell me, ignored me, put my stuff in trash bags and blamed me for it. What did they do? They ignored me. Terrible experience, everyone said that the other hostel (due) is much better and the people are at least honest and decent. I still want my money back.
