Guest Reviews
- Matthew (10/5): - Clean room
- Francis Kreipe (6/5): - food & ice resources were minimal at the most. Poor
- Juan (8/5): - Staff was very awesome and friendly!! We were on the road and a couple hours away from arriving. They called and let me know that they were closing soon at 9pm, but would leave our keys in the late arrivals box. Which was really cool of them!! Hotel is very close to the park entrance and for the price can’t Beat it! Very quiet and close to restaurants and other establishments. Only con is that it could be a little cleaner/more attention to detail but nothing major. But other than that everything was great and would recommend and def stay here again!!
- Charles (10/5): - Small room but comfortable. Bed was nice and firm.
- Ivan (8/5): - .
- Rebecca (10/5): - Friendly front desk clerk. Nice buffet breakfast next door. Loved the colorful room.
- Peter (10/5): - Good hotel, great location, very friendly.
- London (10/5): Best Stay! - Not sure why the rating isn’t higher? We just got back home today from being out here for a few days. The location of this place sold me! I gave it a shot. The room was clean, the water pressure was Perfect. But the bed was hard manageable but I’m picky I like soft beds so I’m not hating. But the rules they have make this place quiet and I love that. No bugs in the room. The front desk is super nice like holy cow!! The whole town is nice! I would stay here again and again. We stayed in the pink room idk what it’s called I already forgot but you can see the Santa Elena canyon from the door and when you open your window! I added some photos that were taken from the parking lot next to our hotel room.
- Jason (8/5): - All we needed. Convenient to Big Bend.
- Kenneth T (10/5): - Great location if your visiting Big Bend National Park.
- Aubhro (2/5): When it rains, it pours - I stayed for 1 night on August 30 and it just so happened that a big storm came thru at night. We immediately lost power and since they have no generators, we had no power until the following morning. The room also got flooded during the night of the storm. They didnt have a number to call and the one they had listed was for the front desk and they leave at 8pm.
Horrible horrible experience. And the front desk staff were so nonchalant about the experience the following morning. Like oh well. I would avoid in the future.
- Jarred (2/5): - The power went out shortly after our arrival. Staff was not on site to address this issue. There was a radio to contact security that was not functioning so we were unable to contact anyone to get power restored. It was extremely hot and would have just been better to sleep in a tent.
- Rosita (2/5): - There was a power outage on the third night of our 4 night stay. Nobody was answering the phone number posted at the lobby. Many guests kept calling this number and no answer. It was uncomfortable to sleep with no power and no AC in 104 degree weather. We checked out a day early.Expediq states the management will not give us a refund because we did not report that there was no AC. This is ridiculous since they are fully aware there was a power outage in the wntire hotel and campground. They are not honest. Do not book jere. Nobody can be reached after hours.
- Judy (6/5): 50/50 whether to stay - Upon entry to the room it was very nice and newly updated except for the bathroom. The room was clean except for the shower. The toilet was very, very low, but I guess most of their guest are young hikers. The bed was also very hard. There was no hair dryer. Big Bend was on our bucket list, so we will not be back.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t stay there, please! - Not good at all.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was very clean and beautiful, unfortunately the bed was hard as a rock and extremely uncomfortable.
- Shaw Ben (6/5): Annoying flies - This is the first time that we visited Big Bend. We are offered a room across the street. Look like it is another motel acquired by big bend station, there are many flies outside of the room. As soon as we opened the door, many flies entered the room. Never had this kind of experience in my travel history.
- Emilee (10/5): - Very nice
- Lori (6/5): - Two night stay. Bathroom tub and floor were dirty. A/c unit loud. TV didn’t work first night but Complained the next evening and it was changed out. Pillows had a weird smell. Deadbolt didn’t work.
- belda (10/5): - I j just love the place!.
- Claudia (8/5): - Herzlicher check-in, liebevoll eingerichtetes Zimmer.
- Markus (6/5): - Stuff was friendly and the room/bed okay but nothing special. Shower and toilet are very small an old. The WiFi was very bad and sometimes not to use. Therefore, the television could not be used properly for streaming. And a remote for cable wasn‘t there. A big advantage is the proximity to Big Bend NP. Next time we will look after an other option.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great unique place to stay with a friendly staff. - This was a really nice motel outside of Big Bend National Park. The staff was really nice and friendly. The rooms were nice, clean and unique.
- Dale (8/5): - This was a really nice motel outside of Big Bend National Park. The staff was really nice and friendly. The rooms were nice, clean and unique.
- Bryan (10/5): - Excellent
- Kelley (8/5): - Basic small hotel room that has been updated. Cold A/C. I marked it down due to bottle caps being on the floor around the bed when we arrived. The bed was like sleeping on a slab of rock. You get two pillows. No extras were readily available.
The gentleman at the desk was kind and professional. The lady present when we arrived about 1.5 hours early was very rude and laughed in my face when I asked about the possibility of a room being available for an early check-in, stating “That’s NOT going to happen!”
They have free ice available. Also, electrical plugs are not adequate in the rooms, take a multi plug outlet if you have a CPAP and would like to have lamps plugged in for light. The TV is large and hooked up to satellite. WIFI worked well. We had a hard time getting the shower to work, the faucet was corroded, but eventually the water was warm with excellent pressure. No bugs or rodents were present. There is a microwave and fridge. We probably would not choose to stay here again if there is any reasonable alternative.
- Mark (10/5): Big Bend...ABG! - This place is great! It was our 5th year staying at the property. I'm embarrassed to say this is my first review. Highly recommend Big Bend Station if you're in the area and looking for a convenient and clean place to stay.
- Linda (6/5): - The bedroom and sink were clean. The bathroom needed a complete cleaning. The shower curtain had not been changed in heaven knows how long, the inside shower curtain had red and black mold, the front part had grime from previous fingers. No one emptied the trash, replaced coffee, or tidied up the room during our stay. The outside of the building had cigarette butts, and was dirty. When I told the front desk host, he stated they have only one housekeeper, are understaffed at the front desk and explained that Aramark is not invested in improving the property or staffing.
- John (6/5): - Room was OK for 1 night. Very tight bathroom and toilet had functioning problem. Very few places to eat gas very high and surroundings a little eerie . It is a ghost town remember. Location was decent but amenities not many. Staff was accommodating however room needs some updating, again good for 1 night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It was a roof over head and ac not much more. - Check in was rushed like person at desk didn’t want to be there. Once we were in room no info on WiFi. Drove back across highway to ask for it apparently there was a map and hotel info that wasn’t given to us. The shower curtain was covered in mildew and tv remote didn’t work. Bed was rock hard like sleeping on plywood. But I guess it beat sleeping in a tent. ? And not many other options around.
- Wade W (4/5): - Hairball on the bathroom floor, toilet required a learning curve to get it to flush properly and leaked around base at floor. Water was just warm, not even close to hot.
Foe the price, I would look further. Saw other properties nearby unfamiliar with their prices
Not impressed.
- DAVELYN (6/5): - Not renovated as shown in pictures. Toilets are like elementary school size. Shower felt like it was going to fall in. It's truly made for tiny people. The beds were super hard and you only get one flat pillow each. But that's not it, units were under a boil notice 5 days before we even checked in and we didn't get a courtesy notice so that we could look for other accommodations. So we had to be sure not to consume the water. Smh... Two nights was enough for us.
- Julie (10/5): - I was impressed with our room! Very clean and great price!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just OK - Our stay at Big Bend Station was ok. Although it was relatively clean, the room was sparse, and the bathroom was in need of an upgrade. The location was very good, and the room was reasonably priced. Next time, however, I would choose to pay more for a nicer stay somewhere else.
- Barbara (8/5): - Stay was to visit Big Bend National Park. The hotel was convenient to the park. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cafe across the street was convenient, food good and price reasonable.
- Thomas (6/5): - Guter Ausgangspunkt für Big Bend Nationalpark
- Celia (10/5): - Big Bend Station is a great place to stay when visiting Big Bend National Park. There is a gasoline station just next door, and a nice grocery store just down the rode.
- Melissa (10/5): - Very good cheap hotel. I prefer a softer bed
- James (10/5): - I liked the location
- Margie (10/5): - We did not arrive until late, and they had an envelope with a map and information about our room! We loved the room—it was very spacious and colorful! The location was perfect for being close to Big Bend National Park.
- Carissa (10/5): - What a cute place only a short drive away from Big Bend National Park!
- Julia (10/5): - I was somewhat hesitate to book from some reviews, but friend and i had wonderful 2 nights here and was so convenient to Big Bend. Can be noisy by highway but staff was great and room comfortable and clean
- Judith (10/5): - Great stay. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire pit at night. Met some really nice people
- Douglas (8/5): Nice little motel - This was a nice little motel. Nothing fancy, but hopefully if you are in Study Butte/Terlingua you don't spend much time in your motel. The room could have been cleaner. There was quite a bit of loose hair on the floor in the bathroom. The front door needed to be pushed hard to shut and lock. The hot water was plentiful with great pressure. We did not explore the rest of the motel. We would absolutely stay here again.
