Guest Reviews
- Lenora (8/5): - Very nice clean and comfortable room. Cute decor.
- Jenny (10/5): Great room! - The room was great. Good distance to Sliverwood!
- Jerry (10/5): - When I visit my father in Rathdrum, I found this little jewel, at least for me. 5 minutes from dad’s home and easy access to everything I need when I visit. My only disappointment this trip was there was no iron available where it’s usually kept. I fly into Spokane and like to press my clothes before going out. Minor setback as I borrowed my sisters.
- Shelly (8/5): - We had a good stay the hotel was clean an safe. I would stay again if in the area.
- Jadak (10/5): - Very cozy room, clean, wonderful shower and comfortable beds.
- Lou (10/5): - This property looks to be brand new with hunter themed decor. Beds were comfy (I would suggest a lighter blanket option tho). Bath and shower was great! WiFi great. There is highway noise just so you are aware. But overall a great stay. Do eat at Penny's Pit Burgers just across the street. They were AMAZING!
- Carrie (10/5): - Beautiful lodge
- Mayra (10/5): - I liked how it smelled and it was a great place to stay when going to Silverwood.
- Carolyn (10/5): A Hidden Gem - The Grizzley Motel is a small town gem. Very clean and super comfy. My only complaint was that the blinds didn't close all the way in one side and since you're on the first floor someone could easily look in. But other than that, fabulous stay!!
- Kristen (10/5): - Super clean and cozy. Loved the nature decor and vibe. Beds were also very comfy
- daehyoub (10/5): - Perfect Room condition!!
- Cristen (10/5): - It was a nice clean room in a quiet building and the staff was helpful, we enjoyed our stay.
- Scott (10/5): - Clean, quiet, great price - renovated!
- Rebecca (6/5): - My stay was...ok? I really would rather say it was excellent. The room was super clean and the bed was comfortable. The fixtures and all were upper end and it was an attractive place. However...you have to get your keys from the gas station across the street (not that big of a deal). You get a regular metal key for your room and a different one for the front door of the lobby area. The instructions are to lock the lobby door every time you enter or exit (kind of a drag when your lugging your things back and forth). I have 2 reasons why I couldn't supply a high rating...I'm not sure about all the rooms, but mine was so little that if two people were in there, you would have to take turns getting passed each other to get to the bathroom. Since I was by myself, it was doable. My biggest disappointment was the noise.(I was staying in Room #1 which is connected with the lobby and there is open air between the door and frame). Since my room was so little with nowhere to work, I planned on using the really nice sitting area located right outside me door, but...alas 3 people were already utilizing it to chat. ( I guess their rooms were little too?) And they did all night. At 11 pm, I opened my door and asked them if maybe it was time to go to bed and I'm talking my door is 2 feet from there chairs they were seated in. But I guess it wasn't time for them to go to bed yet. The next night they added another person to the social hour. Yep...not too much sleep. But... well decorated
- Lisa (10/5): - Checking in was a little confusing at first but it wasn’t an issue. The place was clean, comfortable and quiet, except our room was street side so we had the train and car noise at night. Not a problem for my teen and husband.
It was close to Silverwood, which was why we were in the area. We would stay again!!
- Julie (10/5): - Loved this place!!!!
- Linda (8/5): - Very clean and comfortable beds However the pillows were too big
Very cute decor and as they say no services Nobody at the desk If you’re only sleeping there, which we were, It was great
Keurig coffee pot, fridge, microwave but no chair
- Flint (10/5): - .
- Kathleen (10/5): - It would be helpful if the room had a chair and some kleenex.
- Jessie (8/5): - The check-in procedure was quite confusing as the doors were locked and we had to go across the street to the gas station. Attendant had never checked anyone into the hotel so she was struggling but once we got checked in and were able to get in, we were very pleasantly surprised! Front door had to remain locked the entire time (you lock it behind you coming and going) as there is no attendant at the desk. But it was very clean and extremely well decorated with a woodsy feel. There are only about 8 rooms and we never ran into another person nor did we hear anyone else. Excellent for the price you pay. I would definitely stay here again.
- Gillian (10/5): - Such a cute property, and very secure. One of the staff was also very helpful with recommending Spirit Lake as a destination, and that’s the type of thing that just makes a vacation better. Beds were very comfortable, and the rustic feel is thorough. Thank you, Grizzly Lodge!
- Kimberlei (10/5): Grizzly Good! - We were in Rathdrum to visit with family and the Grizzly Lodge is just minutes from their home. This little hotel is so cozy and inviting. The room is beautiful. We had a great stay. Local restaurants nearby were very good.
- Brittany (6/5): - Have stayed here once before during thanksgiving time and is super nice being close to where our family lives. Decided to stay here again while visiting family. Was nice and quiet. Only negative is that our comforter was stained in multiple spots. We didn’t notice until the last morning while we were remaking the bed and saw it all on the underside of our comforter. Will definitely be double checking next time.
- Cynthia (8/5): - Decor and cleanliness
- Lauren (10/5): - This place is amazing. It's too bad they are located so close to the train, but otherwise its amazing. Can't recommend it enough!
- Andrew (10/5): - Awesome bed and super clean. That's all I care about. Thank you
- Lori (10/5): - We will be back
- James (10/5): - It was very comfortable and secure.
- Molly (10/5): - The room was very clean and spacious; the area fairly quiet. Lots of hot water with good pressure.
- Autumn (10/5): - Great service, room was super cute and loved the area.
- Todd (8/5): - Nicely furnished, close to local restaurants, great value.
- Joyce (10/5): - Very comfortable
- Kyndell (10/5): - Small and cute
- Iris (10/5): - A wonderful place to stay. Not full of extras, but very clean and cozy. We had a room w/a king bed. Smaller than a regular hotel room, but perfect for the two of us. Check in/out was easy. There is no staff in the motel, but we didn’t find that to be a problem. Some previous reviews commented on the noise, but we didn’t find the train, nor road noise to be too loud. It exists, but barely noticeable. Looking forward to coming back.
- Anthony (10/5): - Clean and quiet
- Ciera (10/5): - We stayed at the grizzly lodge for three nights to go to sliver wood for the weekend. They were very good rooms, comfortable bed, very clean rooms
- Dana (10/5): - Our stay was great except for the pillows, they were to high
- John (10/5): - super comfortable bed with a huge TV in the room, adorable décor.
Room seemed freshly remodeled and very cozy
- Dale (10/5): - Large coffee maker. Didn’t have an ice maker
- Riyan Trixie (10/5): - For a motel, I was very surprised by how clean and cozy our room was. I love the modern look and how up-to-date the room was! I was not expecting the motel and gas station to be connected, but the staff was very friendly. If I’m in the area again, we will stay here again!!
- Heather (8/5): - Much nicer than we expected. Cute decor.
- Wayne (10/5): - The motel was very clean and nice. I don't know much about the area, I was just passing through. It worked well for me.
- John (8/5): - We spent our time at Silverwood (about 15 minutes away), so we didn't spend much time in our room, but it was comfy and a nice quiet place to stay. Staff at Dashco were super nice & helpful. Check in was quick and easy.
- Yvette (10/5): - The little rooms are beautiful. The beds are magical. I slept so good! I booked them again for another trip.
- Duane (8/5): - Read reviews before departing. There were a couple somewhat negative. We had a hiccup when we first arrived. They promptly gave us a different room and solved the issue. If ever i am back in area, I will stay again.
- Robyn (10/5): Pleasant stay in Rathdrum - Our stay was wonderful. The check-in was fast after we figured out to head over to the Conoco. The room was comfortable and the amenities were adequate. The AC/heating unit was very powerful and kept us comfortable. Even though the hotel is next to Hwy 53 and the train tracks, it was fairly quiet. You could hear other guests moving in the hallway. The room was spacious and the bed was neither too firm or soft. There was a microwave, frig, and Keurig. Coffee but no tea. Breakfast was pastries and coffee. Our only complaint would be that there was nowhere to sit in the room with the exception of the bed and the toilet. Adding a simple chair would really help.
- Cynthia (8/5): A hidden gem - We were looking for a hotel close to family in Rathdrum for our annual family trips & this place was perfect. Very cute motel with 8 units. Check in took 2 minutes, beds were comfy, amenities were great! Water, juice & sweet rolls were supplied each morning in our own private lobby. We will definitely be staying there every year.
- Josh (10/5): Great time in Rathdrum - Clean and comfy little spot in Rathdrum, close to any amenities we needed. Only thing weird is you have to check in across the street at the gas station and they won't allow you to check in after 9pm, which is NOT stated on the hotels.com page. It didn't affect us but for traveling persons just staying one night or late this could have presented a major challenge.
For us overall 10/10, it was a positive experience.
- Donna (10/5): - it was nice and quiet except for some road noise from Hwy 53. Nice room, vry comforable.
- Jess (10/5): - Nice helpful employed
- Raymond (10/5): - The furnishings were great. Very nice rooms.
- Audrey (8/5): - Other than the space being small, it was fine
- Cam (10/5): - Property is clean and easy to access. Excellent location for my stay.
- Jason (10/5): - Very cozy little rooms at a reasonable price. The property felt very private.
- ERIC (4/5): - I woke up at 4:33AM, but not because I wanted to. The room was 80 degrees.
Even after 40 minutes of trying every combination of the A/C remote settings (and I'm a techie), the wall unit kept flashing an error code and refused to turn on at all.
I'd have opened a window to cool off, but I'm facing the highway. My room wall is poorly insulated, so traffic was too noisy to sleep. I yearned for a rumbling train to drown out the loud trucks, it was that bad. Worst night of hotel sleep I've had in decades.
No desk clerk present to switch my room, and no on-site maintenance staff to troubleshoot the nonworking A/C.
You check in at the next-door gas station (who were nice). The "breakfast" selection was stocked at 5:30AM, very skimpy, with a sign advising us guests that stocks were limited to what was there (no replenishment). The place is operated apparently by ghosts, but with no apparent savings passed on to the guest.
The hotel is modern with touches of quality (squeaky clean, shower was great), but a poor location for lodging and no covering of maintenance issues.
Very disappointing, and I will not return. If I'd had a more quiet room across the hall with a functioning A/C, I'd have rated it a mere 7 and not a value for what I paid.
- Margo (2/5): - Please better communicate that there is no check-in after 9, at least on Sundays. Most families are coming from Silverwood, which closes at 9. The gas station across the street (which is where folks are directed to go for later check-in) was also closed. The contact number posted on the gas station window went directly to voicemail.
- Debra (4/5): - This inn is on a highway and rail line, but it did not impede our sleep. The room was wonderful, beds comfy. We had a huge confusion over adding an extra night to our stay, 6 days prior yo our visit. The desk clerk in the Conoco was pleasant, but when the owner called us she was rude and combative, told us to leave, then hung up on me. Beware that the email address on their FB website belongs to the former owner, so I spent 6 days trying to communicate with nobody on the other end, and nobody answering the phone a couple times. We had to pay extra for same day booking, even though we spent several days trying to add it the way we have with other hotels in the past….personally. Sad experience, but nice stay after check-in was over.
- RaeLee (8/5): - Calm, quiet and relaxing! The room was cozy. The check in was easy. I liked the sitting area in the entryway. We will definitely stay here again.
- Mark (10/5): - Nice quiet room with a big comfy bed!
- Marsie (10/5): - The decorations were fantastic bear themed. The room was so quiet and restful. The coffee and snacks were available at the right time. My stay was great.
- Dave and Leslie (10/5): - The stay was wonderful and the room was great and very clean and welcoming
- Daphne (10/5): - Was easy to get to. Room was very clean and comfortable. Check in and check out was fantastic.
- Dan (10/5): - What a great place!
- jorge (2/5): - 1.- Entrance doors all shut.
2.- No one there.
3.- A sign indicating to check in at gas station across the street.
4.- your rating 10 above 10 is misleading
- Christopher (10/5): - Unique take on a hotel....only thing id suggest is move the clothes rack from the restroom....
- Robbie (10/5): - Nice rooms and very clean
- Michelle (10/5): - Quiet and cozy place!
It was a little bit weird that now you have to go to the gas station across the street to get the complimentary breakfast.
Always clean, but some of the homeowner grade fixtures are starting to become worn and/or dated.
