Guest Reviews
- Chi Duct (10/5): - The service and the room arrangement is really good. This time they arrange 3/F with dormant which allow me to enjoy the sun light. I am deeply appreciate it.
- Jessica (4/5): - The owner did not respond to our questions until the night before our arrival (after weeks of waiting to hear from him). Upon arrival we were shown by a staff member to a suite that we had not reserved (this one was missing a kitchen which we had planned on). The staff member was very kind and apologized, she suggested I call the owner directly so that he might actually answer the call, as I watched her call him twice and he did not answer. When I called he just said to change rooms to one with a kitchen. It felt scammy and misleading. Our door keys stopped working and the handle was rattling, we asked for more towels as we were only given 2 for 3 people and our request was never acknowledged. The suite itself was lovely, albeit with dirty floors. The customer service was altogether lacking and that is unfortunately the part that stuck with us.
- Joel (10/5): - Nothing to share
- Jane (10/5): - This property was quiet and clean and just what we needed for our weekend getaway! We were very content with all aspects! Thank you!
- Dan (6/5): - The room was clean and comfortable but it was a confusing set-up. We thought it was a multi-unit facility with a lobby but it was a series of adjacent units like individual apartments and that wasn't clear from the listing.
We had to call the main number for the "Inn" and a nice lady met us after a few minutes. Everything ended up fine with the property but the set-up was unusual and not clearly explained.
- Tim (10/5): - Nice neighbourhood (Cabbagetown).
Some extra cooking pots would be useful.
- Dave (10/5): - Good experience
- Jennifer J (8/5): Very nice, but needs major soundproofing - The place was well appointed and very clean and modern. The location was nice and the service was also efficient. The only bad marks is the level of noise. While I expect noise from outside with that part of town, the locked back door to the rest of the building has a 2 inch gap (pic attached). All noises in the hallway can be heard, along with the wood stairs. Other guests come and a lot of noise. The furniture in the room above and footsteps were also very loud, as there is no carpet. I had difficulties sleeping every night because of this, and it cane easily be remedied.
- Alan (8/5): - Nothing
- Diana (8/5): - Really enjoyed aspects like the new renovation and the small balcony facing the street. Beds were comfortable, linens fresh and clean.
Full kitchen was not functional for preparing meals as it was not outfitted with basic food prep utensils and cookware.
The unit below must have a 3-way switch in it that controled the lights in our unit, that kept coming on through the night. Noise transfer between units was also an issue.
Overall good value for the price if these issues could be resolved. Great location.
- Kye (10/5): - Cute little room, easy to get to and from with transite, right nezt to an amazing restaurant
- kien (10/5): - We loved this hotel and will definitely stay again. Couldn’t ask for more!
- Emma (10/5): - It was
- Pengsong (6/5): - Poor service, no receptionist, no toothpaste
- Cathy (8/5): - Love that it was on a street car line (506). It was easy to get to key locations. I felt safe walking in the area. Shoppers drug Mart and No Frills were right across the street. There is a park nearby. The unit I stayed in was modern, nicely decorated, clean, simple.
Although I didn't hear other travellers once they were in their rooms, the stairs they had to use were at my back door. I was awoken each morning with the banging of luggage coming down each step.
- Caitlin (10/5): - My family and I stayed here, and it was great! Easy access to public transportation but also great cafes and pubs within walk.
- Lisa (10/5): - After a rough start in Toronto this accommodation was perfect. Clean and next to lots of amenities. Would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Toronto.
- William (6/5): - Good folks, nice room, great neighborhood. Far too noisy from the next room. Neighbours kept us awake all night
- Will (10/5): If you stay here you'll enjoy it. - Other than the neighbors being a little loud during the day, we loved our stay here. It is just steps from public transport or a $15 Lyft ride to the downtown area. The area is cute and packed with lots of little shops and restaurants.
- Lee (10/5): - Owners were lovely, would definitely stay again.
- Dirk (8/5): - Straße und Nachbarzimmer stark wahrzunehmen, also sehr hellhörig
- Eldon (8/5): - Was surprisingly quiet being next to the street.
- Taine (10/5): - The room was super clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay here.
- Francesco (6/5): - The room was comfortable and clean. The building did not have a sign to say it is an inn, and checking in was a bit confusing. The advertising does not show pictures of the outside of the building. We did not feel safe walking outside.
- Darren (8/5): - It was good.
- Ivy (8/5): Quaint surprise in Cabbagetown - Beautiful and new but still with lots of character. They need to work on sound proofing, but I liked the flexibility to change room configuration. Don’t make my mistake, read the check in information they send you. Other than insisting a double bed was a queen bed (as per our booking), staff were lovely.
- Kritarth (8/5): - N/A
- Abtin (8/5): - Clean
- Rodney (8/5): - N/a
- Cecil (6/5): - The inn is nicely designed and recently constructed. However, not enough attention was paid to sound proofing. The wooden stairs outside the room door were very noisy any time someone was outside. The sound of footsteps in the room above was very loud. If anyone in the inn is partying, you will know. I needed earplugs to sleep.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - We stayed in the deluxe loft room and it was really lovely. We very much appreciated the air conditioning as the temperature outside was in the 30s! Beds were very comfortable and it was good to have a proper fridge, oven and coffee maker. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was very good, not just a dribble of water like a lot of places! Cabbage town is a vibrant, diverse community with lots of options for eating out. We particularly recommend Kibo Sushi. The only downside is that it takes 45mins to walk to downtown, although by walking along Carlton to College it is easy to jump on the subway. Other than that we would highly recommend it. Very good value for money.
- Ronald (8/5): - Very clean, could have indicated soap in cupboards so I need not bother mgmt.
- Mariana (10/5): - 100% would book again. The property owner is easy to reach and
- Anik (10/5): - The property was convenient and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was amazing, better than any hotel. Would recommend to anyone.
Walking distance to restaurants and luft ride to downtown area.
Thank you
- Alyssa (8/5): - Everything was super clean and beautiful. We did wish there was cleaning services during our stay and better AC but thankfully my partner works with AC units and quickly cleaned out the filter and it worked amazing afterwards. A little pricey for sure and communication was difficult to get ahold of. Overall good experience.
- Julia (10/5): - loved it! will return
- Edward (10/5): - Wonderful
- Treasure (10/5): - It’s a very affordable and convenient location. Very clean and up to date facilities. Convenient check in and the location is close to downtown. Was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were also very accessible. Appreciated that.
- Virginie (2/5): - Bed sheets, towels and cups were dirty, the view was totally different from pictures, no parking and no information about the difficulty to park in Toronto at night time. Staff not nice and not welcoming. Only one of us could enter the building freely. No shutters so very shiny on the morning. WiFi not working.
Worst experience ever.
- Laura (10/5): - Everything was okay. Arriving and parking at the place was a little confusing, and the instructions weren’t clear.
- Lisa (10/5): - Great area to explore. Easy connection for public transport. Great food options.
- Marlon (6/5): - Property seems wide and spacious in photos but we had everything we need even though it’s small in personal. I didn’t like the roof window as sunlight directly hit our bed. The staff was a bit off, smells like alcohol and almost took a pic of my credit card cvv. Also, very unresponsive host.
- Jeffrey (4/5): - In an interesting though somewhat seedy neighborhood, this older building is newly carved up into furnished apartments. Everything is brand-new. Comfortable platform beds. Fully functional microwave, dishwasher, oven (but without any pots/pans!). Excellent tub/shower.
Ours was a third-floor walk-up apartment (no elevator), with a balcony overlooking the lively street below. There were black-out curtains on the west-facing windows, but nothing on the balcony door to the east, so forget about sleeping late - morning sunshine floods the bedroom at sunrise. There was a door separating us from the unit directly below ours. The door was locked, but paper-thin, and we could hear every word that was spoken down there. Two nights in a row, the guests in the downstairs apartment began partying at 3 a.m., waking us up. We had to go downstairs to bang on the door to get them to shut up, both nights.
On our last day, the building's electronic front-door locking system failed. We called the attendant, who was 45 minutes away at the time. We were locked out, and had to abandon the plans we had made for the evening.
It is incorrect to call this a hotel or inn. There is no service of any kind. There is no front-desk, virtual or otherwise. Also, while locked out on the final day, we discovered that there was no fire escape for the second and third floors. Had we realized this sooner, we would never have stayed there. Building was unsafe for occupancy. Certainly not a legal lodging.
- Eric (10/5): - The check in process and some of the check in details didn’t match the listing information, but we were able to call the manager and sort out check in over the phone and in person. The unit is very clean and well located. Noise level from the stairwell was very loud, but forgivable as we were very comfortable on our stay. I would book again for price, location, and cleanliness.
- Liam (10/5): - While the virtual front-desk is quite slow, the employees are very friendly and helpful if you contact them via the provided phone number.
Super clean inn. Had an amazing time. Would recommend.
- Isaac (4/5): - This is not a hotel, it's an INN. It's cheaper compared to other hotels in that area, but you'll definitely get what you're paying for.
The CONS: It doesn't have all of the amenities you'd expect from a hotel such as a fridge and microwave. Hygiene is passable, but the bed sheets could be cleaner. The portable AC makes so much noise, and the walls are so thin, you can hear everything your neighbours are saying or doing. The fixtures and furniture just feel cheap and hurriedly put together.
The PROS: The INN has reasonable security, the person in charge is responsive to requests, and the surrounding area is perfect. It has all the stores, groceries, cafes, restaurants, ATMS, you could possibly need within walking distance.
- Yves (10/5): - Great room
- denise (8/5): - Près du centre-ville, très propre.
Points négatifs : personne à notre arrivée,
Stationnement difficile à trouver, quartier peu sécuritaire.
- Quincey (6/5): - Solo traveler here. The inn is tucked in a charming but slightly sketchy part of Cabbagetown—be cautious at night. The room was clean and cozy, perfect for resting after exploring the city.
Self-check-in was simple, but the virtual front desk isn’t very responsive. Ongoing renovations are noticeable but not disruptive.
Overall, peaceful and affordable. Good if you’re independent and don’t mind a few rough edges.
- Todd (10/5): - The place was clean. There was a kitchenette. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Near TTC lines. I will book again.
- Abinyah (8/5): - Very nicely and newly renovated, good amnesties and cozy.
- Victoria (10/5): A little gem - This is a cute little inn in a great location for a great price! I loved our stay and would definitely come back again. It appears to be a brand new place and I wish them the best of luck. If you’re looking for an affordable, quaint and lovely room in the city, I can’t recommend this place enough!
