Guest Reviews
- Nicholas (10/5): - This was exactly what I was looking for. Clean, quiet, modern, and cheap. The location was great and the small size of the room, aside from being pretty funny, really motivated me to spend pretty much all of my time in the city and not in my room. This was exactly what I thought it would be and was very happy with my stay. My only feedback to hotel management is that the sink was so small/close to the mirror, it was actually hard to spit into while brushing my teeth without hitting my head on the mirror. Everything else though felt perfectly designed for usability and compactness.
- Mark (10/5): - Friendly reception clean room
- Camila (10/5): - It was awesome plus the location was great!
- Charlotte (8/5): - This is a different experience.
The Pro's - excellent location especially at the price. Room is nicely fitted out, and bed is comfortable. Queries are handled over WhatsApp as you have no phone in room, but not by someone in the property (possibly even AI) but prompt and helpful. Corridors on the accommodation floors are accessed by key card and you can only access those in which your room is located, which improves security.
The Con's - it is extremely compact. It is pitch black, but you can leave a frame of light on a dimmer to see by. You have less about 1.5m2 of standing space, there are 2 hooks for clothes hanging, and the sink is so small it was hard to get my head over it enough to clean my teeth. In addition, my room didn't have any toilet roll - I had to request this from reception, but it took 3 attempts before I found someone there. I also had to request a hairdryer, which is complimentary (Knightsbridge location, others have a beauty room you can access) but not in the room by default and has to be picked up from reception. When there, the reception staff were helpful and friendly.
A second stay would be easier as I would know more what to expect, but this isn't somewhere to stay long, and you can't really work in your room (except lying in bed). As a place to sleep with reasonable security it was fine and the price for the location really is excellent.
- Alexander (2/5): Avoid! - Disgusting sheets (see photo), cramped room even beyond what is advertised. Hotel hides their contact info as well so I have had no luck getting any sort of refund. Avoid!!
- Neil (10/5): Compact, clean and comfortable - Compact, as expected. Clean and comfortable. Perfect for a short overnight stay.
- Caroline S. (8/5): Minimalistisk ophold - Fint ophold hos Zedwell Knightsbridge.
- Michael (8/5): - Overall, the concept of a cocoon hotel room is good for a single traveler that is staying 1 to 3 nights.
The bed was extremely comfortable, and although the bathroom was tiny, the shower was very good with high pressure and hot water.
The drawback was very limited space to store anything outside of your suitcases underneath the bed. This would be an easy fix for the hotel owner by installing foldable shelves that when in use, its folds down from the wall and when not in use, the shelve folds flush up against the wall.
The main complaint that I have with the room is the sink in the bathroom. It is the smallest sink I’ve ever seen in a hotel room and is not functional for shaving, washing your face or taking makeup off. For this reason, I gave the overall rating of the Hotel a 4 out of 5 rating.
The room is fine for a single guest, but I would not recommend it if you are traveling together with a partner, husband, wife or child.
- Natasha (10/5): - Room was clean. Air conditioning was good. Really great location opposite Knightsbridge station abd close to Hyde park. Extremely small but was fine for us as we weren’t planning to be in the room apart from to sleep and change
- Clare (2/5): - Do not stay in room number one one two seven. There was a random door from the bathroom going, well, who knows where.
It looks like a cupboard door but when I arrived there were people on the other side of the door and music was playing. I complained to staff and was told there wasn’t a door from my bathroom. I showed the staff member a picture. They then agreed that there was indeed a door and conceded that it went to advertising space and no one was there. Which wasn’t true. I filmed it! Through the keyhole.
As a solo female traveller it was unnerving and I slept with the bathroom door locked - because you can lock the bathroom door from the bedroom side. And with my case pushed up against it.
Even more curious, the evening porter told me lots of people have complained about this room and the Narnia door, so it’s odd they denied it even existed.
I shared all my pictures with the hotel but they never replied and charged me an additional £30 for the room without explanation. I am waiting to hear back from them on that one too…
- Hamlet (10/5): Quite comfortable cave - No windows and super small. But I was never in the room and wanted somewhere quite with solid AC and dark so I could sleep when I was in the room. Great location
- Niamh (10/5): - Great place if you're going to be out all day and just want a bed and bathroom in a central area. The tube station is directly opposite so it's very central and well connected.
Definitely make sure what you're booking meets your needs. But it's very clean and quiet and the beds are very comfortable.
- Prajeet (10/5): Excellent location! Perfect for a single person! - Concept of Zedwell is good for a single person stay and not suitable for a couple or family. Location is superb!
- Daniel (10/5): Definitely recommend - Booked less than a week before, £153 which was not too bad. Came through for a concert. Hotel is great location with the underground just across the road. Shops nearby. The room itself was a cocoon so the clue is in the name, very simple and cosy. Booked as a couple, it was a bit tight for getting changed not a lot of open space. However the bed was very cosy, did not feel to tight at all. Best night sleep I’ve had in a good while. Definitely recommend if you just want somewhere to sleep!
- DAWN (10/5): Great small clean secure hotel in central location - Great small hotel in central location. 5min walk to Harrods. Knightsbridge Underground 3min walk. Close to Hyde Park and shops. Hotel and room was very clean and modern. The rooms are very small and basic, but if you need a hotel in the area for 1-2 nights, then this one is great. Not sure how useable the rooms are for two adults, as you need to step out of the tiny bathroom to have space to dry after a shower. But very clean and checkin/checkout was quick. Shout out to Ola at reception. 😁
- Michelle (4/5): - Inadequate and disappointing. More like a camping bed than a comfortable sleeping room. Waste of money. Bad joke of a property. No thank you we’re so full. It was so good. We ate it all drink.
- Lyn (8/5): - The location was great. If you're traveling on holiday or need to work in the area, you can't beat the location. Very close to Knightsbridge underground and easy to walk to Hyde Park and all the spots you want to see. I was there for work.
The room was/is SMALL! But, that's the point. There is no TV or radio and any other distraction. It really is just for sleeping, and that was comfortable.
The only criticism I would offer is the lack of storage, shelving or hooks. I had 2 in the entry & 2 in the bathroom. Yet, plenty of empty wall space. I understand the minimalist aesthetic but some sleek black, or white shelves to put key, water bottle, loose items etc. would be helpful to keep the place tidy while staying. Extra hooks would also be appreciated.
- Mark (8/5): - I probably didn’t read the write up properly, but the hotel only has double beds, and each side of the double bed touches the wall. It is literally a bed and a bathroom. Great for couples, and all you want to do is sleep there and have very little luggage. Great location.
- Jodie (10/5): - lovely stay here, even though we were only here for one night. The windowless room and soundproofing really make you feel like youre in a super cosy private space, right in the middle of such a busy area. It was perfect for us.
- Elsie (8/5): - I wasn’t familiar with the cocoon concept.it was a clever and different. Luckily I’m not claustrophobic and was traveling solo. From more than 1 person could be challenging. Overall good experience
- Brett (8/5): Cute new London hotel - Nice rather new concept hotel. No frills but quiet and cozy for a great night sleep. I wish the room was a bit larger that’s all.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Great location for an event at the Albert Hall.
- Geoffrey (2/5): - I did not stay as the accommodation was totally unsuitable and I need a refund
- Natalie (8/5): - Amazing location and perfect for our four night stay, just a little on the small side. Couldn’t have stayed any longer in the small space but honestly perfect for us as we were out at 730am and not back in until after 1030pm. So close to the tube and buses so perfect for getting around
- Ceris (10/5): - First time in a Zedwell, highly recommended.
- Esther (10/5): - Loved the location and how close it was to shops!!
- Brenda (2/5): - The cocoon concept was like being in a jail cell. Lights only work when motion is detected. No space for two adults with two small suitcases. Room was dirty. Sink was about 12 x 6 inches wide. The concept is ok, but a windowless room inspires claustrophobia.
- Lyndsey (10/5): - A stones throw from the underground. Hotel was very quiet. Room was tiny but perfect for what we needed,,somewhere to sleep and shower. Room was more like a pod. The sink in the bathroom is really small so water would go everywhere when washing your face. Powerful shower. Comfy bed. Silent at night, so got a good sleep. Not a lot of room to get ready if there's 2 of you trying to get ready at the same time.
- Mark (10/5): - Fantastic concept
- Carlee (10/5): - This was a new experience for me. It was simple but all you need in a room. It was a bit tight but the bed felt so clean and the mattress was super comfy. I appreciated how they blacked out the window as it made sleeping much easier but at times it did make us feel like we were in a dungeon.
- Ben (8/5): - Idea for want we wanted just very small room
- Kelly (10/5): - This was the perfect place to stay for one quick night before my flight out of Heathrow the next day. I arrived at St Pancras station and took the train to the hotel. I specifically looked for a place on the Piccadilly line to Heathrow, and this was just steps away from the station. Not far to drag my luggage.
Very close to beautiful Hyde Park, many shops and restaurants in the area.
Very neat, well appointed place and absolutely quiet since there are NO windows! I had room 102 and I didn’t hear a sound all night!
Really appreciated the USBC outlets.
Would stay here again for 1, maybe two nights.
- Xuanzi (10/5): - The room is super tiny but super clean and provided all I needed for my solo trip, great location, easy access to busses and subways. Naveen who helped me to check in and check out was super nice, also helped me figured out the better solution to get to airport when the subway was closed that day.... very helpful !
- Abigail (8/5): - N/a
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The pictures are deceiving. When you walk in, you have enough space to open the door, and then you walk into the cubby holding a mattress. This is the TINIEST hotel room I have ever seen. It is fine if all you intend to do is sleep and not spend any other time in the room other than that. There is no TV, no windows, no amenities other than a toilet, stall shower and barely a sink.
- Darren (4/5): - We booked this property as it we liked the idea of the soundproofed rooms because it was in a busy area and no window so you could control your own lighting and get a good nights sleep.
What we got was a room with a boarded up window and the light from the window was still able to get along the top edge of where it was covered up. The room was not soundproof as we could clearly hear the traffic from the road outside.
The room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable and the staff were frendly, but let dow by the false claims of no window and soundproof rooms, when actually being a hidden window in the room and the noise from outside.
- Mark (10/5): - Great check-in, convenient location, interesting concept
- Dawn (10/5): - Lovely simple hotel, a stones throw from Knightsbridge tube exit. Clean, easy to access and helpful staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place for a one night stay - A great place to stay in the heart of London if you just want a bed for the night. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. There is no furniture and the rooms are very compact but perfect if all you want is a good nights sleep.
- whilhelm (10/5): - The rooms are like boat cabins..clean cocoons
- Julia (10/5): Compact, convenient and fresh decor - Whilst the rooms are compact, they are comfortable and only recently renovated so everything so fresh! It’s quiet and convenient.
- Michelle (10/5): - Great location
Bra personal!
